Soon to be a film from the creators of Jumanji and San Andreas, a fantastic disaster tale of a band of random strangers banding together to save each other.
When a mysterious asteroid nears Earth, the unexpected happens - a powerful gravitational force from the object causes the sea to roll back hundreds of miles in an unprecedented low tide. As the receding water rushes out, Hannah and other passengers from a doomed cruise ship find themselves stranded in an alien landscape once hidden under the waves.
Completely ridiculous but fun and over the top. It's a disaster movie turned up to 11. A meteor going by the Earth affects the tides and causes the seas in the Western hemisphere to retreat 100 miles from shore. The story follows a group of people who survived their cruise ship tipping over as they try and outrun the tsunami that's coming when the waters return. Danny Luckert's a good artist who has worked on comics like Red Mother since cutting his teeth at Red 5.
This is a disaster movie in comic/graphic novel form such a cool premise for a story. The buildup was pretty good and the art was beautiful. The ending came faster than me on a Friday night. JK! Overall had a lot of fun with this story.
Interesting premise. Weak on some human interactions, but the setting is novel and partially scratches that itch of wonder everyone has had when entering the sea.
