The Wedding Night

Rate this book
When an opportunity to take everything from the powerful family who destroyed his mother’s life falls into Caleb Moore’s lap, he needs help from the one person with more power and money than they have — business mogul, Audrey Clarke. The trick is getting her attention. So he approaches the infamous ice queen with an unusual proposition: marriage.

The odds of a snowball surviving in hell are better than the chances of a rich, classy lady like Audrey Clarke marrying a mechanic from the wrong side of the tracks. He only hopes that she might consider a business partnership when she’s finished laughing at his marriage proposal.

He never expects her to say yes — or that the ice queen could burn so hot. Because Audrey Clarke isn’t cold at all. And if Caleb’s not careful, the only thing he’ll give her for Christmas…is a broken heart.

Kati Wilde is a tight-lipped, loose-hipped woman of indeterminate age and low breeding. Born into a very large family, she now has a very small family (no laws were broken in this transition), and she writes romantic fiction to assuage her darker urge to write Transformers erotica. She lives in Oregon, so most of you are safely far enough away, and has two old cats.

Kati writes the Hellfire Riders MC romance series and will be publishing her first New Adult novel, Going Nowhere Fast, with Berkley later this year.

About Our Series:

The Motorcycle Clubs series is for romance readers who want all the heat and emotion, but who don’t have all of the time. At this time, we are only publishing novellas — our intention is to provide readers with short (yet satisfying) MC romances. Sometimes we might continue one couple’s story over several novellas, but each individual novella will have a satisfying romantic resolution. Because they are short, we focus the stories on the eroticism and romance, and will be building the MC worlds as each series progresses.

Super sweet - super sexy book!

description

The plot & characters:

We have a heroine who is neurodivergent and with all her quirks and unique personality, she is just adorable - as cute as a cupcake. I rarely love heroines in romance books that much and I completely fell in love with Audrey. She is what makes this book super sweet.

Her mental condition is not named but she gives hints about what it is like to be her. We learn that she has trouble with social cues and she has OCD.

Audrey has a painful past because her parents treated her cruelly. Now, she is a successful businesswoman who cut all her ties with her family.

Because of her mental issues, people usually assume that she is a cold and distant person and thus, some named her “the ice queen”.

When Caleb comes into her life, first he unbalances everything but she is strongly attracted to him so she quickly adjusts a place for him in her life.

Caleb is a mechanic whereas Audrey is a rich businesswoman. That reversed roles for the MCs was refreshing.

Caleb inherits a large fortune but the other heirs are suing him, opposing their grandmother’s will. He needs a lot of money to get a good lawyer to fight with them but he is not that rich. So he goes to this rich businesswoman with a different offer that includes a marriage proposal in it. As a matter of fact, he doesn’t want that fortune but he doesn’t want them to get it either because they are responsible for the demise of his mother as he came to the family as an illegal child and both his mother and he were rejected by the family. Now, he wants to fight them out of spite.

So, his proposal is how Audrey and Caleb meet and things between them get all sweet and sexy from then on. Their chemistry and connection is just amazing.

At the beginning of their encounter, there was a huge chip on Caleb’s shoulder and he had lots of assumptions about Audrey but as he got to know her, he understood how wrong everyone was about her and that she was not the “bitchy ice queen” people thought she was. From then on, he started to like her more and more. And the more she opened about herself and the more she let herself be vulnerable to him, the more he appreciated it and behaved accordingly.

Caleb is an alpha who talks dirty but he also has a soft and sweet side and Aubrey calls him a “marshmallow”, a little charred and rough at first glance but so very soft and sweet inside.

Safety:

The book is purely safe from OW/OM drama, with no cheating.

She is a virgin but he is not a man-wh*re. She is a virgin not because she is a prude but because she doesn’t like being touched… well, at least until Caleb. He is the only one whose touch she craves and accepts willingly from Day 1.

The book is OTT sweet and way too sexy with lots and lots of hot sex scenes. Sometimes, Caleb’s dirty talk is much too vulgar but it worked for Audrey so who am I to oppose, right? 😊

But I really must say that I was sick of the repetition of how big his was and how tight hers was, blah bla – I mean once or twice was OK but more than 10 times was way too much repetition!

Still, all in all, it was a hot, emotional, sexy and super sweet read, and I enjoyed it in general.

Writing:

The book is 260 pages and it is told in dual point of view. It makes you feel. I loved every moment of it.

Recommendation:

Well, if you want to read a scorching hot and super sweet love story, then you can pick up this book without hesitation. It's a "5-star" hot sweetness! However, DO NOT expect much angst or some intriguing plot line. It is interesting but it is still simple and very predictable; hence minus 1 point.

This is a “make-happy” book as it is all about sweet and sexy times so whenever you need that, go for it, it won't disappoint in that area.

Criticism:

I would have preferred to have a deeper understanding of Audrey’s mental condition and I would like to be able to give it a name. It’s kind of vague in the book. We only learn that she has lots of issues and how she deals with them.

I read books that deal with mental illness, from Asperger’s syndrome to Autism, from depression to agoraphobia. Some of these books focused on the painful aspect of it and how the main character dealt with it while trying to construct a romantic relationship. Some were just ridiculous as they portrayed it all wrong or tried to cure the illness with love or hot sex.

In this book, there is no cure to Audrey’s condition. Caleb is not trying to cure her. He is just understanding and affectionate. He accepts all her quirks and even finds some of them adorable. He doesn’t want to change her or cure her. He just accepts her the way she is and loves her. In social situations, he helps her the way she needs by just being the human shield and not letting anyone touch her as she doesn’t like being touched. (Caleb is the exception to the rule).

Because this is not a serious book that is written to reflect how painful her life experiences are, we mostly have a mild representation of her condition. Normally, I would expect more from a book that portrays a main character that has a mental illness but seeing this book intends to be a sweet and sexy read, I just went along with it.

So be prepared for a light read even though the heroine has a mental condition.

Here are some QUOTES that may give you a better idea about the mood and tone of the book...

I stride out of the elevator and stop dead, because everything’s off-kilter.

A man is taking up too much space in the reception area. And he’s standing in the wrong place. He unbalances everything.

***

Snap.
Snap.
Snap.
If the woman facing me wasn’t repeatedly plucking that damn rubber band around her wrist, I’d have thought shock had frozen her solid. Or that she’d stroked out. But she isn’t looking through me now, as she did when I was shown into her ridiculous office. I’ve got her attention now.

Snap.
Teeth gritting, I glance at the rubber band. Just a cheap yellow one. She’s snapped that damn thing so many times, the skin of her inner wrist is bright pink. I clench my fists, barely stifling my impulse to reach out and stop her from snapping it again.

***

If he’s anything like other men that I’ve dated, he might start off saying I’m hot. But he’ll end the night telling me that I’m too cold.

I’m not cold. But I don’t express myself in the same way many people do. I can barely tolerate people touching me or touching them in return.

“Don’t go and look up any of this on WebMD. Because there’s no neat diagnosis or category for me. So you might think I have Asperger’s but I just share a few of the same tendencies - but only a few. Like I don’t have any trouble making eye contact. And I have some obsessive compulsive behaviors. But so many people try to figure out what I am based on a few things they’ve observed me doing, and then act shocked when I do something they didn’t think I would. It’s irritating.”

“So I shouldn’t play online psychiatrist.”

“Please don’t. I don’t need you to figure me out. My doctors and I have done a good job of it already.”

“I won’t, then. But tell me what you think I should know.”

The bright warmth in my chest swells. What you think I should know. Not demanding everything. But asking what I want to give.

“I have trouble understanding nonverbal cues - and I prefer it when social interactions follow rules and are easy to make sense of... I don’t react well to pain. And I don’t like things that aren’t in the right place, or out of order, or cluttered, or physically uncomfortable. And sometimes I get distracted by those things. But it’s not really a distraction. It’s more that I become hyperfocused on that thing, and that hyperfocus means that I’m not paying attention to something I should be paying attention to.”

***

Shit. I need to be more careful about what I say. About how I say it. And I’m not going to assume anything about her reactions unless she actually tells me how she’s feeling.

***

Gently I brush my mouth over hers, teasing before nipping at her full lower lip. Her little gasp and chocolate-scented sigh slip over my tongue as I lick past her teeth.

And f*ck. I should have known.

Should have known she’d be hot and sweet and this kiss would mark the end of Caleb Moore and the beginning of Audrey and me.

Caleb is a big, sexy marshmallow. A little charred and rough at first glance but so sweet inside.

***

“I like very much that you are thinking of me, Caleb. I truly do. But please do not ever think for me.”

***

“Audrey, baby,” Caleb murmurs, lightly squeezing my fingers, his brown eyes full of laughter now. “Come back to me.”

Whoops. I hyperfocused on his fascinating face. But who wouldn’t, if Caleb looked at them like that? Filled with sheer joy, I grin up at him.

“My rubber band didn’t go with this dress. What did I miss?”

“Only the sermon,” Reverend Foster says dryly. “But you rarely listen to those anyway. I’ll email it to you.”

Perfect. “So are we married now?”

“Almost.” Caleb’s fingers tighten on mine, his voice deepening. “We still have to say the vows.”

***

He’s not even inside me now, but I’m closer to him than I’ve ever been, as if he’s burrowed beneath my skin. As if all the love he f*cked into me is still there.

4.75 stars: When the roles are reversed and the h is the rich one

Well well well… this is different than what I’m used to reading. For once, the h is the rich one and the H isn’t. Plus, the h is on the spectrum and the H is a mechanic? I’m in!

The book opens up with Caleb going to Audrey‘s office to propose something to her, a marriage proposal, in order to inherit the money that’s being bequeathed to him. His biological father‘s family kicked out his mom when she was pregnant with him because she was the maid of the house and his father was from a well-off family that didn’t want a bastard as a grandson. Well, the jokes on them because his father ended up dying and they have no heirs to inherit all the money.

Audrey’s on the spectrum- she doesn’t like to be touched, she can’t do loud noises, and she can’t tolerate pain. As soon as Caleb proposes his plan to her, she accepts, and they’ll remain married for the duration of the battle for his money. Although it might seem that Caleb wants to get rich overnight, he’s a lot more humble than that and doesn’t think that money’s everything.

As time passes, their chemistry sizzles and ignites. At first, he thinks that Audrey’s aloof and distant, but as he gets to know her more and learns of her likes and dislikes, he realizes just how special she really is (and not in a negative way) Plus, her assistants help him whenever he needs it❤️.

Sure, this is on the slow burn side, but hooooooly moleeeee… it is 🥵🔥. Audrey’s a v (she never did it with anyone because of the pain) and Caleb’s more than willing to help ease her way into a smexual woman. He shows her what pleasure is and helps her become confident in and outta the bedroom.

AND THAT MOUTH! Loooooordt!! Take the wheel please because Caleb’s DIRTY MOUTH’s about to make me combust 🥵🔥💦😅. No wonder Audrey had to constantly change her undies (she can’t stand the wet feeling); if men talk as dirty as Caleb, I think women would carry extra underwear everywhere they go too 😉🔥. And I won’t even mention how strong he is… the things he can do with his arms- the way he lifts Audrey like she weighs nothing (ahem… the car garage scene that leads into the bedroom 👀) makes me wanna buy a weight room for men all around the world. That’s right Caleb 😉👏🏻💦, you do you boo 💅.

Not only is their chemistry/connection intense, but he’s so swoooooony too🥰. They complement each other so well❤️. There’re so many cute things they did as a couple, and the level of understanding between them is envious and only gets better as they spend more and more time together. Gahhh. I loved it all!

I just wish it was longer ☹️

⚠️safety squad⚠️
-no cheating/sharing/owd/omd
-no condoms(she’s on the pill)/he’s clean
-the h is on the spectrum
-h is a v/H isn’t but he’s not a man hoar
-death of a parent is remembered
-child abuse/neglect is also remembered
-HEA/epilogue/5 years later

THIS COUPLE... AND THEIR STORY-JUST MIND BLOWING !!
I love to read books where MC’s have special quirks or are different. Here the heroine Audrey was one of those. She needs rules and order, is brutally direct and honest, isn’t afraid to cut off or ignore a person if she didn’t like them or doesn’t care for social niceties.
An alpha female.
She is also hurt in past and have an enormous capacity to love and help others. She is also a SELF MADE BILLIONAIRE and calls herself AMC aka Audrey motherf**king Clarke. She is my first such heroine. I didn’t see that coming. And I’m so happy that the authors are now trying something different.

Now let’s move to the hero, who is a mechanic and isn’t shy to announce that to upperclass, who had a rough childhood but still grew up to be a honorable man. His friend and later Audrey calls him Marshmallow which isn’t far from truth.
Another thing I liked was, even though heroine was richer and had more advantages she didn’t once overshadowed the hero. He always refused to take her money. And heroine, she was giver, shared everything that was her’s with him from day 1. The difference between their personalities couldn’t be more complete. One of them was Caleb’s rough and dirty talk to Audrey’s polish upperclass speech. But later when she turned the table and started talking his language back, I enjoyed that too.

The characterization is done brilliantly. That too till the end. I enjoyed each and every scene. This isn’t a full on sweetness and unicorns story, there is hurt, pain, misunderstandings and then the fantastic coming together.
This book also had the hilariously hot role-play I have ever read.
Epilogue was amazing.
Recommended.

A marriage of convenience/revenge
OTT cuteness
Neurodivergent fmc/millionaire/virgin
Blue-collar mechanic mmc/non-manwhore
Excellent epilogue & HEA

Shockingly, it was almost too much sex. I know…I never thought I would say that either! Loads of foreplay, loads of teasing. The hero was a giant marshmallow of a man, very unrealistic, and dreamy. This author really knows how to write alpha men with a gentle side.

Both Caleb and Audrey were wonderful characters, but she stole the story with her vulnerability.

I’m not cold. But I don’t express myself in the same way many people do. I can barely tolerate people touching me or touching them in return. Affection isn’t physical for me; it’s mental and emotional.

I had put off this book for a while, because for some reason I thought the H wanted revenge on the h, which is a trope I need to be in a certain mood for. However, that's not what The Wedding Night is about. This is an opposites attract, marriage of convenience, blue collar H/billionaire h romantic (and yeah, spicy) tale. Caleb (H) *is* getting revenge but it's on the family that wronged his mother. Audrey (h) is immediately attracted to and interested in him after he approaches her with an unconventional business deal involving a marriage. The story is written in first person, dual POV. No ow/om drama, h is a virgin and H is not but no history on him, bc is discussed/used.

I loved that Audrey is on the spectrum and my heart broke for her feelings of uncertainty, being overwhelmed, and the people in her past that weren't able to appreciate her. Caleb had some bumps along the way, but ultimately he's a super caring and protective H. There are a lot of miscommunications because of unspoken feelings/thoughts and usually this would hamper my enjoyment. This time though, I was deeply engaged in how these characters would eventually open up to each other and/or have epiphanies about how the other felt. Their love story is condensed into a short amount of time so their development is quick. There's lots of steam along their way and a surprising amount of emotions (I teared up). Several side characters shine in their moments including two couples from Kati Wilde's other Christmas stories, which was cute. The story has a five years out epilogue that was perfect for them and left me feeling gooey inside over their HEA.

ETA Possible triggers: CNC later in a spicy scene; recalling memories of parental neglect/abuse

4.5 Stars!

This was so much more than I was expecting. I went into this book thinking it was going to be more like an Alexa Riley book, but was pleasantly surprised with how much more depth there was to this couple. Don't get me wrong, I like those short OTT AR books, but I do prefer a bit more to the story as well.

Audrey was such an interesting heroine. She's a self made billionaire who suffers from some social issues. She is not autistic but has a few similar characteristics. The way she has dealt with some of her social disconnect is to... well, disconnect. To others, Audrey comes off as an ice queen. In reality she has learned to control her reactions.

Audrey excels at business because she can be as blunt as she wants and it's normal. Expected even. In a social setting, it's a different story. She isn't comfortable with casual touch. She struggles with chaotic surroundings and sometimes she can focus too much on one thing that causes her to space out.

This is the kind of character I love to root for. I want to see her find that one man that will see beyond her limits to the woman that she really is. This is where Caleb comes in. He's got a business proposition for Audrey and doesn't even realize the effect he has on her.

Caleb became a great hero because of Audrey. She made him a character that really stood out because of how he was with her. Place him with your typical heroine and there wouldn't be anything that stood out about him. Next to Audrey, he shined.

There were a few cheesy moments, especially towards the end, but I don't even care. I was already loving this couple and was so happy to see them be happy. Great read!

»O day and night, but this is wondrous strange!« (Horatio in Shakespeare’sHamlet”, act 1, scene 5.)

And so is this novel! Though it has some truly great ideas, they are often immediately overshadowed by banality and crudeness… Before I get ahead of myself, though, let me quickly state that this is it (for now) with Christmas romances but I came across the title - “The Wedding Night Before Christmas” - and couldn’t help myself but read it.

Beyond its strangeness, this was a winner for me and this is mostly due to the extremely relatable Audrey “Motherfuckin’” Clarke - how could I not root for her?!

»Two documents, exactly the same—except one was stapled on the diagonal, and the other stapled vertically.
Who does that? Only a monster.
«

(Indeed, Audrey, and isn’t it almost as bad if the staple is not either precisely vertical, horizontal or - best of all! - on a precise 45° diagonal?!)

Audrey, the female protagonist and rock upon which this novel safely rests, is a capable, powerful, intelligent, self-made rich, attractive and neurodivergent woman.

»I’m not cold. But I don’t express myself in the same way many people do. I can barely tolerate people touching me or touching them in return. Affection isn’t physical for me; it’s mental and emotional. So I show affection by showing interest—and it’s impossible for me to feign interest if I don’t care about what someone is talking about or doing. But even when I do care, I know my manner comes off as lacking in warmth. If I could act, maybe I could fake it. But I’m not any better at pretending than I am at lying. So I can’t be anything other than who I am.«

Caleb, the male protagonist, approaches Audrey because he needs her financial backing to get even with a family who is trying to sue him out of his inheritance. His unconventional idea: He proposes marriage to Audrey and she accepts on the spot.

At this point, I looked up the author, Kati Wilde, to see if I had accidentally stumbled into a male wish-fulfilment fantasy…

Caleb also swears all the time. For no fucking reason at all. In every second sentence. I’m not fucking exaggerating. And he has a “slight” personality problem:

»Personality-wise, I’m a vulgar asshole at my worst, and miles away from Prince Charming at my best.«

This becomes especially grating when very nice ideas…

»A fantasy that takes a warped perception I had of her, one that hurt her and ate me up with guilt, and turns that pain into something that’ll give us both pleasure.«

… drastically clash with Caleb’s swearing and crudeness.

»She told me to dress for a date, so I settled for what was clean and might stand up to the cold outside. And I suppose I look like some giant lumberjack escorting a sexy fairy princess into this damn party, but I can’t bring myself to give a shit if we don’t match.«

And yet, this novel worked for me because the chemistry between Audrey and Caleb is simply great and he never feels threatened by Audrey’s self-confidence or outward powerfulness. As any decent partner should, Caleb supports Audrey, takes her needs and challenges seriously, and vice versa.

I would have loved to get to read a little more about Audrey as a successful business woman, about her assistants, Jessica and Jeremy, and some other side characters which are sadly neglected.

This is a very, very hot, spicy and steamy novel. I liked it but if you prefer a “fade-to-black” approach, this is very definitely not “your” novel… Also, versus the end, there’s more sex than anything else and I found myself wishing to read more about those two in non-sexual contexts.

Especially since there are quite a few open questions that aren’t addressed by the epilogue (“Five years later”) either: What becomes of the Wyndhams? What does Caleb do with his inheritance? What about Audrey’s parents?

Despite being seriously annoyed by Caleb at times, I didn’t like putting this one down.

Four out of five stars.

This book is 100% safe for me. It was exactly what I needed. It's sweet and hot and both of them are crazy for each other. They want the best for each other and want anything the other can give. I love that in this case she is the billionaire and she is self-made if I remember correctly (maybe her parents were wealthy)
Anyway, he works fixing cars and is super loyal to everyone that he loves.
My heart broke for both of their past. They truly understand and want to make a family together.

DO NOT JUDGE THIS BOOK BY IT'S COVER!!

or by it's title either if that's whats making you reluctant to read it.

BECAUSE THIS IS SOME TOP-TIER MASTERPIECE UNDERRATED YET UNIQUE PIECE OF DIAMOND.

➺This features not only a neurodivergent heroine but a fucking rich one at that. Scratch that, a filthy rich billionaire heroine. The hero is a mechanic and this is a marriage of convience story which is something i don't like to read. Because of reasons such as misunderstandings, misinterpretations and miscommunication.

Reasons which are NOT HERE.

➺ My fucking god. the communication is chefs kisses. The way they are so fucking open and honest (from the beginning mind you) with each other about little things like doubting each other's feelings and where do they stand MAKES ME WANT TO GIVE THEM A FREAKING MEDAL.

There's literally no trace of misunderstanding because even if it occurs it gets resolves quickly because THEY TALK. THEY FUCKING TALK PEOPLE. LIKE FULLY GROWN ADULTS!

Do you know how fucking rare that is?
And how frustrating it is to not see these basic things in romance?

➺ Anyways, Audrey (h) who schedules fucking everything, can't lie so she prefers to either be blunt or remain silent, takes everything literally, doesn't like to be touched, can't tolerate pain makes me so freaking happy because it leads to things like the hero sputtering because of her replying seriously to his very sarcastic remark and that one role-play scene, fucking HILARIOUS in ways you'd die from laughter.

➺ And if this doesn't convinced you enough, want to know something else? : THE SMUT IS OFF THE FUCKING CHARTS.

Ugh. This deserves to be popular.

Istg if this was a little less expensive here i would buy the paperback right this very second.

*sigh* back to reading romance books about adults who don't act like adults.

By some strange blip in the universe I knew nothing about this book, when I saw it I stopped my other read and dived in. My last book ( not by this author) I fell asleep twice, scrolled through FB, Instagram and gr. With this one I had 43 fb notifications, 3 missed calls and 3 irate family members hoping for dinner 😂 I read it straight through from beginning to end without pause. I didn't want to put it down!

I loved the heroine, I'm not sure if her condition is real but it read as totally believable and I cried right along with her when she made assumptions about him and broke down.
I loved the hero, he had a filthy, filthy, FILTHY mouth that I enjoyed but was also just my kinda Alpha....bossy protective and loyal. He made some mistakes in his handling of the situation before he fully understood the situation but he rectified that soon enough

All in all again with this author, my only complaint is that I'd have liked more.... Not that the story was incomplete but I'm just greedy that way 😜

*This is one of only 2 author's who's books I never read reviews before reading because I've never doubted if the were safe....... fingers crossed that always continues.

This was fine. I can see why it’s popular.

I read this ages ago and never wrote a review.

There’s nothing really wrong with it, other than it’s just not my flavor and lacking in any compelling (to me) drama. The h is a rich ball buster and in control. The H is her poor supplicant. (So not the kind of dynamic I like at all) She’s on the spectrum and needs help having sex. So he has to be extra super careful with her. He takes her virginity with his fingers, which always feels so clinical and meh to me. 😕

Bottom line? This book was fine if a little boring. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

I don’t remember much about the safety other than she’s an older virgin and he’s not a virgin. I don’t remember Ow/OM drama. I probably would have liked it more if there had been. 😬😅🤡🤷🏼‍♀️

I LOVED this contemporary marriage of convenience, loved the instalove, loved the verbal teasing, the filthy promises, the literal sexual edging between Audrey and Caleb but the last 15% fuckfest was just so overdone I SKIMMED right through it.
—I KNOW—
I didn't think my pervy system could be sent into override but here we are. The Wedding Night left me all fucked out! (I realize this could probably be the incentive you need to get the book)

I thought the author did a great job with the characterization of these two opposites, the cold rich business woman and the unrefined blue collar mechanic teaming up for a believable yet flimsy revenge plot. I wanted their first few days of getting to know each other to last forever.

Under his gruffiness the hero kept revealing layers upon layers of sweetness and I adored witnessing Caleb turn all cinnamon roll for his woman. The instalove/lust was super entertaining what with the hero's absolute dirty thoughts and filthy mouth effectively getting all my attention.
I loved how the neurodiverse (on the spectrum but not Asperger) heroine would literally need to SNAP herself out it because she would get lost in her thoughts about the hero.

If you love an alpha who takes charge but at the same time has no issue showing up his softer side for his woman, then you'd enjoy getting to know Caleb.

Caleb Moore and Audrey Clarke have a business agreement as the basis of getting married, but from the moment they first meet/interact it is clear that a emotionless relationship with clear boundaries they agree to will be more than a little hard to stick to.

This was a sweet, fluffy and light one time read. My attention did waver a few times but the main characters are likeable and work well together. I did like the epilogue.

Audrey’s parents are horrid, and the one scene in which we see them was more than enough.

Kind of a schizophrenic book: a little revenge, NA, and lots as in LOTS of raunchy sex in an almost Sam Crescent style minus all the sperm.

Heroine verges somewhere on the Asperger's spectrum, and H is a hunky mechanic in search of revenge against the rich family that made his mother's life a misery.

Take a look at Dilek VT's review and it's pretty heroine and handsome hero.

.
Syrupy sweet with nothing you can truly sink your teeth into...
But I loved it!
Like eating a handful of whipped cream straight outta the canister ; )

Totally safe,
One note about Audrey and her labeling
p.s. the last 20% of the book is pretty much just a whole lot of sex so I must admit to skimming some of that even though it was creative... it just went on too long. There's a sweet little epilogue 5 years into the future too.

Trigger Warnings:

This book was short and cute. I went into this because someone mentioned it had some grovel but it didn’t? Basically, there were tiny misunderstandings or mistakes that were made and both characters, mainly Caleb, does everything to fix it right away. So he thinks he will do anything to make up for what he did but he doesn’t even make huge mistakes. Like Caleb makes one tiny mistake near the beginning and makes up for it immediately. I thought there was a problem and Caleb would have to grovel for a coupla days but nah that didn’t happen, so I was disappointed. I did love the story though. Some of the problems I had were that it was too insta-lovey. I assumed the marriage happened sooner and there would be awkward living-together moments. Audrey was described as an ice queen but she was actually super emotional with a complete stranger so I didn’t find it consistent with how everyone described her. I know she’s supposed to be the misunderstood ice queen and there were points where people didn’t understand why she was the way she was, but I’m surprised at how easily she opened up to Caleb. Her reasoning for accepting his proposal at the beginning didn’t even seem like a smart decision, it was also a bit weird. She has some random guy ask her to marry him. His reasoning is to get revenge on his family by using Audrey’s lawyers and money for expenses and she was good with it right away? Sure she gets the property she was previously interested in but none of it made sense to me since she wasn’t desperate for the property. All of that was bizarre to me.

So Caleb’s grandmother died and she left behind some inheritance. In order to win the legal battle against another family for the inheritance, Caleb needs good lawyers and something to cover up for the lawyer expenses. He visits Audrey the ice queen and asks her to marry him so that she can cover the expenses and in the end get the house that she was previously interested in. But what if Caleb is able to break the ice queen bit by bit until they feel things for one another?

Now for spoilers

Stay safe folks

2.75✨

there were way too many insta love in the air. it didnt even feel like a marriage of convenience romance at all, none the magic of it. like, they did get close through that, but quickly ‘fell DEEPly’ for each other literally a day later, a LONG time before they even got married. thats not what im here for bro

however. the first 35% was nice, they got mz potential, the little misunderstanding/prejudices (only works when theyre still strangers ish to each other ok) here & there.

then they just fuck

and didnt stop for A LONG WHILE

”Okay. Good. And what else is…is this a handkerchief? It’s damp.” A bleak edge scrapes through the observation. “Were you crying?”
“It’s a pair of panties,” I tell him. “They were bothering me, too. So I took them off.”
“But…they’re damp.” Incredulity rings through the statement.
“I know. That’s why they were bothering me. I could feel them. And it was…distracting.”
“But they’re really fucking damp.”
“Of course they are!” I snap, my frustration boiling through. “I’m sexually attracted to you, and you were touching my bare skin and holding me close. So I was physically aroused. But then I hyperfocused on the wetness and I couldn’t feel anything else, or think of anything else. So I spaced out and was rude to your friend.”
“You didn’t talk to Patrick because you were focused on how wet your pussy was?”
“That’s what I just said.”

‘A handful of text messages greet me when I leave the shower, and a tight band of tension wraps around my chest when I see the name of Audrey’s assistant, Jessica. Maybe calling everything off. Notifying me that the Wyndham mansion isn’t worth putting up with my shit.
Instead sheer relief hits me when I see it’s a group message titled ‘Audrey’s Little Helpers’ that includes Jessica and the other assistant, Jeremy. And I must be crazy about this woman, because group messages are stupidly fucking annoying and yet here I am, glad to see it.’

Alexa Riley kurgularından halliceydi, istemeden o ikiliyi hatırlattı bana sürekli. Kendini okutuyor, hızlı da bitiyor ama çok ekstrem bir şey beklememeli.

This was a cute fast read. Audrey Clark is rich and powerful. She is called the ice Queen for being cold. Caleb Moore is a meachanic looking for spite and revenage. In a nut shell she falls in love at first sight with a marriage proprosal that is all business. Read thru misunderstandings, fears of expressing your true emotions, hurts from parents, relatives, and business relations to see how Audrey and Caleb finally realize what they have is real love and not something else.

Quote:

Rooms filled with people are among my least favorite things.

If people like her married people like me, I wouldn't even be here.

"That I can be loved this this," I confess shakily. "I feel like it all must be happening to someone else."

Don't judge this book by it's cover!

This was a beautiful and sweet story and a well written book. It was just so good my heart was fluttering the entire time. I loved everything about it, especially that it's not the typical Trope with the "Powerful CEO Hero". Nope! The heroine is the powerful and strong CEO and the H is so in love with her.

That was just perfection, sweet, quirky characters, mutual pining, hot smut. Some of the language was a little vulgar, even for me, but for the most part this was a delicious, fluffy read, with just a touch of angst that was quickly and satisfyingly resolved. 4.5.

I love kind and considerate MMCs, and I love “ice queen” FMCs. When you put them together, you have a heartwarming and sweet story.

The couple, Audrey and Caleb, was extremely communicative, yet there were still misunderstandings, except these misunderstandings made sense because of how the characters perceive and process situations. I liked how they were able to clear up their miscommunications almost immediately.

Caleb was a sweetheart. He adapted and respected Audrey’s needs and boundaries. Neither of them hesitated to apologize when they messed up or offended each other.

The last sex scene was a little out-of-character for both of them. Introducing a safe word would have prevented their fumbling and honestly would’ve been the right course of action when exploring that type of bedroom play ().

This was an incredibly sweet—and spicy—read. It was drawn-out at points, but it wasn’t so long that it was tedious. I only wish there were more books in this sort-of-but-not-really series.

Reread. Not sure why i only gave it three stars originally. Definitely a 4.5 now.

The heroine is lovable, funny, vulnerable, and very driven. I love a female MC that is decisive and self contained while still maintaining kindness. She’s a little misunderstood as an ice queen, but is actually neurodivergent and knows her triggers and boundaries.

For as much as i dislike billionaire stories, the gender flip is always welcome! Marriage of convenience with the main reason being spite for his enemies? More, please. I’m also a sucker for a Christmas wedding.

The hero is rough and crude, but an absolute sweetheart under it. He has to work hard at his own insecurity about the class divide, but his instant passion for her wins out every time. And even though he likes his intimacy rough and fast, he is all about her pleasure, and so so gentle with her when she needs it.

And the sex? Um, yeah. 🔥❤️‍🔥 This author fell off my radar for a while, but I’m going to go through her backlist now because … hot damn.
