What will happen when a shy middle-class guy falls in love with a rich, beautiful, and confident lady? This novel tries to discuss this aspect of love which has been addressed umpteen number of times before. The author still somehow manages to bring freshness into this cliched theme.
Raunak was madly in love with Adira, who was a paying guest at his grandmother's house. But he was a timid person and was afraid to open up to her. Now the narrative shifts to the present, where he gets a second chance to tell her his feelings when he gets an opportunity to visit Australia on an official trip along with this colleagues. This novel will tell you what will happen between Raunak and Adira.
The author tries to show us the insecurities of Raunak in multiple parts of this book. We can see that he was even uncomfortable with his own name and wanted to change it to look cool. It was too much for me to read all his insecurities in the initial part of the book itself, and you will feel that this book is soporific. The narration is also a bit slow. But it picks up after the initial hiccups, and the story becomes a fast-paced one after that, and you will love reading it despite few problems in the narrative style.
What I learned from this book
1) How to remove your insecure thoughts like you are underqualified and undeserving for your job?
When I read about Ronnie's predicaments, I thought about the story of fishermen who went fishing.
Two men went fishing. One man was an experienced fisherman, the other wasn't. Every time the experienced fisherman caught a big fish, he put it in his ice chest to keep it fresh. Whenever the inexperienced fisherman caught a big fish, he threw it back.
The experienced fisherman watched this go on all day and finally got tired of seeing this man waste good fish. 'Why do you keep throwing back all the big fish you catch?' he asked. The inexperienced fisherman replied, 'I only have a small frying pan.'
Similarly, Ronnie thinks that his frying pan is small. He doesn't value himself. The message the author is trying to tell us is that we should be confident and know our own value. Otherwise, we will land up in trouble in our life just like Ronnie.
Just see how the author mentions the diffident nature of Ronnie.
"I cannot understand how a person of average intelligence like me ended up in a niche job like this.
Rather than being happy about getting into the new team, I was always scared that I was not cut out for it, and that I might not be able to perform as well as expected."
2) How Mothers are able to solve all our problems?
The author beautifully tells us how mothers can solve our problems without us even mentioning them.
"Sometimes in life, you do not need big words of wisdom to clear your head; sometimes all you need is a cup of tea with your mother, who would talk endlessly about things that don't matter to you, but seeing her happy, smiling and excited takes away all the stress and uncertainty of the future."
3) Possessiveness and trust
Possessiveness in a minor amount can be considered as a sign of love. When it becomes persistent or gets out of proportion, it should be definitely considered as a negative trait.
The major four elements of trust are
1) Competence
2) Reliability
3) Communication
4) Integrity
There are more than a dozen other minor components of it like hope, faith, patience, reassurance, etc. But the above four are the most important ones. If there is a mismatch of competence among the immature partners in a relationship, the inferiority complex and ego might play a significant role.
The protagonist was having problems with possessiveness and trust in this novel. We can see him trying to give positive affirmations to himself in multiple parts of this novel.
“As a man, have confidence in yourself, and trust her enough to let her have friends.”
My favourite three lines from this book
“If your first day with your girlfriend is the most memorable one, it means that you could never really develop the spark you had into a fire.”
“Love penetrates the hardest of hearts in the blink of an eye.”
“I was there and I did not help her!”
What could have been better?
The inconsistencies of the protagonist might be irritating for some readers. Sometimes he is overanalyzing and sensitive, while he might also be impetuous at intervals. The way he behaved when he had abdominal discomfort was a little difficult to believe. I wondered how a silly indolent guy who doesn't know to handle innocuous diarrhea and almost put his relationship in jeopardy due to his ineffable nature and not opening up to his girlfriend became the central character of a novel. His frivolity and ignorance will flabbergast our conscience. Interestingly he behaves like a fully grown mature guy in times like the climax of this novel. I was wondering whether he was having Dissociative identity disorder (DID). The author should have been more careful while fleshing out the central character of her novel. Otherwise, the readers will find the book incongruous and inane as they lose connection while reading and will impugn its originality.
The good thing about this novel is that despite all these inconsistencies, we will still understand the characters' feelings and feel empathetic towards the protagonist after finishing this novel.

something I never told is a love story of raunak and Adira. They first meet when Adira comes to live in Raunak's grandmother's house as paying guest.
It was love at first sight for Raunak but the magic moment for Adira came after years .
Well first thing first ,I really loved the title , it really sits well with me . For instance if somebody ever said "something i never told", and due to some unnecessary curiosity my first reaction would "what '' and lets just say that exactly what happened between this book and me. I just had to read it and trust me I did finish the whole book in one sitting or rather one night
The plot of the book was nice and soothing. The story seemed to be familiar and highly relatable. I really liked the beginning as it successful got hold of my attention . The chapters were well defined . Though at some point there was a slight problem with the timeline , but that's okay .
The characters were the star of the show . I really enjoyed reading the characters of Raunak , his characters was highly relatable and had a charming innocence .
The narration was fast paced and humorous at times . The language the simple and understandable. The climax was breathing taking .
Overall it was a fabulous book and I highly recommend it to the ones who are ready for a twisted happily ever after.

So, here I go. My last February read , a quick read by an Indian author. To be honest, I'm not quite fond of Indian Authors especially if the genre is romance and I might sound a bit bias with this book. I was provided a copy of this book i exchange for an honest review and here goes my take on this book.

Ronnie’s fate gives him a second chance with Adira. His one-sided love story moves at a faster pace this time but instead of becoming his lover; she chooses to become his friend instead.
He needs a mentor and Rajbir steps in just in time.
Something I never told you is a transforming tale of love, determination, belief and finding one’s strengths.
My Take on the Book :
There is one thing that I would love to tell every young Indian author who are new to the world of writing, why don't you guys work on the editing part. Your intentions however good may be goes in vain when one finds so many errors as they read the book. The same case was with this one. Though comparatively lesser than its counterparts these days, this book still needed to work a lot on its editing.
Coming back to the story, for me the story seemed pretty straightforward. Guy like girl. Girl does not pay attention. They get separated. They meet again. Guy tries to impress her. And then, you pretty well can guess what will happen next. What mattered here is the execution of the story. At some points, the story did have its moments that you could take away but unfortunately those points are quite less. I'm not sure about some of the stuff that happened in the story but let me assume that the author tried putting it up when you watch a bollywood movie.
If you are expecting me to talk more about it, then I would say I don't have anymore. Pick it up if you are into cheesy romantic novels with a happy ending ofcourse. This book though is not great literature, does make for a fun read and that has made it better than some of its counterparts.

Raunak's love for Adira and his attempts to get her attention are sweet and endearing.
The grammatical errors are a pain but if you ignore them, it's a cute story.
Overall I loved the book. Pick this up for a fun light read. And also for tips on how to avoid the dreaded Friendzone!!

The story is told in the first person by Raunak, aka Ronnie. He has been in love with Adira ever since she came to stay as a paying guest at his grandmother’s house. However, he is too shy to say anything to her. He even gifts her an expensive bracelet on her birthday but is too tongue tied to take credit for it.
Adira comes into Raunak’s life once again when she starts work in the same office as him, as a trainee. Fate plays a role in bringing them closer when they are chosen as a team to work in Australia for a while. Raunak’s manager, Rajbir also encourages Raunak to talk to Adira about his feelings for her.

The story is fast paced and doesn't bore you any time.I felt that the story was predictable and the ending reminded me of bollywood movies. The characters didn't have much depth, it is good for a quick fun read.

I have always believed that it's always better to ask questions, no matter how stupid it might seem or how silly you feel asking it you should always ask questions. I have always believed that and I stick to it. More often than not. Yeah I get into trouble and end up embarrassing myself at times but at least I know the truth. And that's what is more important for me. This book is something that I will remember for some time. You see I too had once written a letter to someone in high school and my then 'so-called' friend took it upon herself to make it all about herself. They didn't work out but so didn't my friendship with that boy. So I feel Ronnie's pain when his note to his crush gets appreciated but someone else takes credit for it all. It's not fair. But life gave them a second chance and all was hunky-dorry for sometime but then life again threw them a curve ball. So what happens next, do they end up being together? Does love win the day? Can love win the day?

Something I Never Told You by Shravya Bhinder is an romantic fiction based on a shy teen Rounak whom had fallen in love with Adhira, a pretty girl who came to his Nani's house to stay as PG.
Its a normal story but I can see how easily a shy teen or one side lover can connect with this story. Once I gone half way the novel had started to remember me one particular malayalam movie named "Anandam" a 2016 released one which have similar kind of story only the situations got changed in it.
Its a worth read as I can able to finish it one go because of the lucid language and a steady state narration. Author had correctly placed the story as story goes parallel on past and present. Characterization was also simple as it could. Story is based on Delhi and Australia basically which gives author a space to describe more new places with more romantic.
Overall, Something I Never Told You is story of Rounak confessing his love to Adhira which he never told. An predictable another daily hearable story but good romantic aw well.

One of the most attractive covers I have seen. Ronnie is in awe of Adira and gradually falls in love with her. He is shy but expresses his love for her.

If you like simple, normal story, This one is definitely for you!!!
Story Line:
A Guy falls head over heels in love with a girl. He is a introvert and too shy to tell the girl or to pursue her. Happy in just getting a glimpse of her everyday, he finds himself in her close proximity and a good Samaritan who guides him through his shyness.
And finally he finds his way into her Heart!!!
My Views:
I loved the way the author portrayed the story line. Although its a usual plot, the use of flashback connecting the present was commendable. Character building was good, especially the lead protagonist - Raunak. You travel with the characters and the language allows you to visualize the scenes easily.
Best part of the Novel was the realism in the story. Normal guy with average looks and usual problems faced by him when facing his crush was something which kept me hooked. Not in a single moment did I feel - "Ohh this doesn't happen in real life"
Only thing that put me off a little were small grammatical mistakes (Don't want to sound like a Grammar Nazi) but those can be easily over looked.
Overall, pick up this book if you are looking for some REAL LIFE STORY!!!

'Something I Never Told You' is a short and sweet love story. The plot is very simple and to some extent clichéd as well. The protagonist Raunak, who is head over heels in love with Adira. He has deep feelings for her but failed to express his love for her. His love is left unrequited as it is unexpressed. The whole story goes on about how much he loves Adira but is unable to confess his love. I found this a bit boring. It was the repetition of the same 'one-sided love saga', where the protagonist is hopelessly in love with an extremely beautiful girl who seems to be way out of his league. The guy still struggles with his deep feelings but cannot express.
The author has developed each the characters really well. Each of them has a unique personality. They might seem to be relatable to some people. The sequence of the story is another aspect in which the author has done a commendable job. The narrative was quite easy and simple. However, there were a few grammatical errors in the story. The story needs very careful editing.
Altogether, 'Something I Never Told You' by Shravya Bhinder is a light read. To all the romantic-fiction lovers, you can give this book a read. You may enjoy it.

I expected a lot from this book as it is published by penguin. But it failed to reach my expectations.
First of all lets talk about the title and cover. The title interested me to read the book. And the cover is so pretty you can see.
The cover says it's based on a true story. If it's a true story then i don't think Raunak is a bad name or it's a name to make fun of. That's where i found it not to be true. May be the author tried to add some spices like this in the story.
The plot of the story is not so fast or not too slow. You'll not be bored reading it.
Coming to the characterization, it could be better. The author described the character of Ronnie throughout the book. But i couldn't know much about the character of Adira, how she feels about the love of Ronnie.
Now, the ending is really amazing. It'll bring tears in your eyes. The ending reminds me of the movie October.
So, overall it was an okeyish read. I'll recommend to read this book as a one time read.

Shravya Bhinder has written a beautiful love story which is sweet and relatable. The protagonist is a common, ordinary boy with no irrelevant riches or extreme good looks. It's the love story of a common man. It can happen to anyone and it still has a freshness and lightness which is a delight to read.

It is a nice and easy read. I loved the writing style of the author which was fresh and real. The author captured such small and minute details of characters, such habits which seemed beautiful.
Although, I expected a better ending, the whole process of reading this book did not disappoint me. Not a romance reader myself, it was a fun and innocent read.

Something I Never Told You is an amazing book if you're looking for a light romantic read. It has complications, obstacles, advisers, suitors, lovers and above all - one sided love. There are romances everywhere, but the story of a one-sided love affair, in which the person isn't even able to express his feelings or rather, say something out loud -- now that is something very rare to read about. And this is exactly what Shravya Bhinder has done in her book. The characters are so real, although I dislike Adira a little. Not during the whole of the book, but there was just this one incident in the middle of the book.
So yes, if you're wishing to read about a guy trying to hopelessly turn his one sided thing into a two sided thing, then this is the book you must go to. I must agree, I rather enjoyed reading it. Now that's something worth highlighting, because I, for one, do not like Romance. I've never been a fan of it, but this book changed so much in me. With not more than 143 pages and barely a three hour read, this is one of the perfect books to have on a journey.
Sadly, it is only available as an ebook at the moment. I hope to talk to the author and request a paperback soon.
Yet, even though it was a great story, there were a few issues that irked me badly:
1. When the author first starts narrating us the story, there are a lot of incidents of backstories. I have no issues with backstories, they're rather great and help us understand the story more easily. What I did have an issue with was how it confused me a lot. At one point or rather so many points in the book, Raunak told us about an incident that happened a week later and went on to describe it further and then somewhere along that, brought the story back to present. At other points, he told us of an incident and left it at that. It wasn't really an issue as such, but it confused me a lot. Personally. Otherwise, it was great.

Thus, final verdict: If you're looking for a light romance, with a lot of internal struggle and self-made obstacles, then Something I Never Told You is the book for you!

Something I Never Told You is an amazing book if you're looking for a light romantic read. It has complications, obstacles, advisers, suitors, lovers and above all - one sided love. There are romances everywhere, but the story of a one-sided love affair, in which the person isn't even able to express his feelings or rather, say something out loud -- now that is something very rare to read about. And this is exactly what Shravya Bhinder has done in her book. The characters are so real, although I dislike Adira a little. Not during the whole of the book, but there was just this one incident in the middle of the book.
So yes, if you're wishing to read about a guy trying to hopelessly turn his one sided thing into a two sided thing, then this is the book you must go to. I must agree, I rather enjoyed reading it. Now that's something worth highlighting, because I, for one, do not like Romance. I've never been a fan of it, but this book changed so much in me. With not more than 143 pages and barely a three hour read, this is one of the perfect books to have on a journey.
Sadly, it is only available as an ebook at the moment. I hope to talk to the author and request a paperback soon.

‘Something I never told you’ is a sweet and light love story narrated by Shravya bhinder. Where there is a huge hype over alpha male protagonists all around the world, this book brings entirely the opposite to you. And nevertheless a simple, cute and very ordinary boy next door who has utterly been in love with Adira for years.
This one sided love story manages to bring out so many emotions altogether in you. The protagonist’s vulnerability reflected through his lack of confidence in wooing his love interest, is both, convincing and sometimes bordering on annoyance for the readers.
Personally, I felt this cute love story could certainly have been much more. Yet it’s simplicity has its own essence which can manage to keep the readers going.

This book revolves around Ronnie( Raunak Dhodi) & his love Adira, he loves her but fails to express it. Its a simple and pure love story. Ronnie cares for Adira and is always their for her but he fails to express it, and its complicated because he's not expressing it. And then steps in the savior Rajbir who helps Ronnie. Adira has gone through alot and needs support, with his behavior does Ronnie can provide support which Adira is in need of? Want to know more read the book
Author has done great job, its a simple love story with great message that you have to express it, if you are in love you have to say it. Ronnie got chance but not all will be that lucky .
I finished it one seating small but beautiful story, it was my perfect read for valentine's day. And i never felt bored while reading.

Theme : I loved how he went on flashback and it connected to present ( its so crystal clear their was no confusion at all.

Something I never told you is the story of Ronnie's first crush/love, Adira. He is shy so couldn't confess his love for her on more than one occasion. But as we all know, true love has its own way. Months later coincidences brings then together, again. Only this time, Adira too reciprocates to his feelings. But what happens when Ronnie takes Adira's love for granted?
Apart from any judgements I might pass on this book, I want to tell you that this book has most definitely entered on my Favorite list.
From a cute love story to a devastating one, this book has all the spices that a romance boom need. Throughout the book I had a stupid smile pasted on lips as I could relate to the shyness Ronnie felt.
The book was fast paced and beautifully written, except at some point I felt a word or two might me missing. I wanted to read a little more of Robot's character as I liked his supportive nature very much. Piyush was little mean but genuine friend too. And Adira, what can I say about her! She is perfect, as Ronnie would say. The only I thing I didn't liked, or rather felt sad, about this book is the ending. But I guess I can't hope a real story to turn into a fiction.

So many times in our lives, we take the people we love, the people who love us for granted. Communication, expression, being more vocal about even the smallest things in life takes a backseat because we feel that this person is always going to be there. We take them for granted. It boosts our ego when we always have their attention, their love. Instead of thanking that person and giving them credit for their efforts and love towards us, we think that's it's Me. I am too good. And this is where it all goes wrong. Any relationship blossoms on the effort of both the people. And we often realise our mistakes when we are out of time or when we lose the person we love.
Raunak and Adira two different and wonderful people fall in love despite all the hurdles in their lives. It was so refreshing to see that the character of Raunak was portrayed as a shy and introvert guy.
And for a change it felt more realistic when the villain in the story is not a third person. How Raunak's ego and insecurities destroy their relationship is definitely worth reading.
The language is simple and lucid. I just felt that the narrations are very long which made it a bit slow read. Apart from that it's a great one time read.
Recommended to beginners and romance Fiction lovers ✌

Adira stays in a PG which is owned by Ronnie’s grandmother. It’s love at first sight for Ronnie. All his attempts to confess his love for her are failed one way or the other. After some years, Ronnie joins a company without knowing that Adira is already working in the same company. Ronnie’s fate gives him a second chance with Adira. His one-sided love story moves at a faster pace this time but instead of becoming his lover; she chooses to become his friend.
“ She was gone, again; and I failed again and could not tell her how much I loved her.”
I like Ronnie – his love & care for Adira is sweet. Adira’s character is good too but it just didn’t work on me. Rajbir on the other hand, a small character, acts as a mentor for Ronnie is like-able.
Ronnie’s love is so pure.
I have liked the way the story traveled back and forth. I’d love to know Adira’s POV. The language used in the book is simple and clean, young readers can go for the book. It is an easy read too. Perfect HEA, a valentine’s special.

Raunak loves Adira since his college days but could not ever confess it despite getting several chances.Life again brings both of them together but still he is unable to come out of his shell speak his heart. Rajbir his boss steps in meanwhile to help him out.Its worth reading if he succeed in professing his love or live with his one-sided love life long.
The plot is good and the language is simple.I could easily connect to the every next door boy's love story.The thing that I liked about Raunak is the depth of his love and the occasional beautiful lines he penned down thinking about Adira. The great camaraderie he shares with his cousins.
The grammatical mistakes disrupted the otherwise good reading experience.I would recommend it to anyone looking for a light romantic quick read.

Pathetic. I finished it only because I wanted to see if anything exciting happens. Nothing ever happens. It’s the most soulless book I have read in a long long time. I am amazed at the positive reviews for this book because it is so bad, that I am a loss of words to use the correct adjectives. Please do not waste your time on this book. None of the characters are likeable; the MC was a whining child and the FC felt like a dream: non existent.

My Take:
Falling in love is one thing, and loving the same person for a lifetime in spite of their flaws and nature is another. Raunak (Ronnie) and Adira's story here talks about a very strong aspect of love and relationships.
We all fall in love, once our feelings are reciprocated we take them for granted. Granted that the partner knows we love them ,care for them etc. We never make an attempt to say them in as much words, assuming they know. Relationships are work in progress, they always need assurance and words to feel satisfied and happy.
Raunak falls in love with Adira the first time he sees her, this one sided love from college continues for few years. Destiny gives him opportunity by bringing them face to face, but being the shy guy he is never able to confess in spite of constant nudge from his friend/ cousin Rohit.
Raunak sees her being friends with other guys, which he is unable to digest nor able to pick up courage and confess to her his feelings. Insecure that she might fall in love with someone , he worries but never does the needful, until Rajbhir his boss paves a way by narrating his story of not being able to confess and lose his love forever.
Raunak and Adira come together, fight like normal couples do and make up too. But this time has Raunak gone too far? Will he be able to get Adira back after the ugly spat? Read the book to find out.
The characters are neatly described, the story starts on a emotional note which lays the foundation for the readers to know what is coming their way. A story for people in love, who believe in love. A cliched story with a strong message of never take people or situations for granted. Maybe we might not get a chance to say what it meant to us when relationships go awry.

The cover of this book is very lovely and upon finishing the book one will come to know what the cover want to say. The ending of the story is very very emotional and it brings almost tears in eyes till coming to last page. This book just take 6 odd hours to complete.
The story starts with the Main character Roonie or Raunak who changes his name to Roonie to make other people see that he is cool. Actually, his Nani or Maternal Grandmother want to let out her Paying Guest (PG) room to a girl and here the Adira comes into play as she is seeking a PG to live. Roonie sees her when she come out of auto-rickshaw. Adira is a reticent girl. Roonie got a job and he is getting late to reach at his office and by mistake he lost his metro railways card and he saw a card lying on floor and as he go to approach she talk to that lady who is sitting there and that girl was Adira. Upon so much of story explanation, he reaches office and saw Adira there in his office.
Actually, they both start liking each other but haven't confessed it.
And, official trip to Australia set each and Ronnie finally proposes her as his boss said him to express his feelings before getting late. They both have decided to live with each other.
But, after that something happen which shouldn't have happened and change the life of both the characters permanently which is very emotional. A short negligence changed the entire life. Upon requesting of some special person to that person who got affected by this incident to Move On. But, it's not easy to move on.
Without breaking suspense, to find out what that incident happen and what that negligence was, pick this book and start reading.

Upon requesting of some special person to that person who got affected by this incident to Move On. But, it's not easy to move on.

Rajbir turns out to be the mentor or Love guru Ronnie needed to push himself in the right direction. Will Ronnie ever be able to confess his feelings to Adira? Even if he did, will she accept feelings of her friend to be more than just friends? This story is tells us how relationships mature over a period of time when one shows determination and has patience to allow the universe to unfold itself at its own pace.

How many times have you been guilty of taking your loved ones for granted? Aren't we all guilty of it at somepoint or other? Even without realising what it may or may not cost us at sometime.

'Something I never Told You' by 'Shravya Bhinder' is a story which delves into a coming of age love story and the embedded deep feelings associated with expressing love, persuasion, expression, doubt, ego and agitation.

The protagonist Raunak aka Ronnie is smitten by Adira, which turns into love subsequently. Though initially a lack of communication, self doubt and timing plays it's role but soon everything seems to be falling into place with both becoming inseparably in love with each other. But just as a fatal curse, things start going downhill with self ego and aggression playing their part meticulously. Something which lefts Raunak to regret forever!

I really enjoyed how the story unfolds initially with the frequent flashbacks, crispy and catchy incidents to savour but as the story goes further I found it to be repetitive and not as delectable as it started until towards the end when things go downhill for the protagonists. I loved the lovelorn quotes by the author amidst the story, they make the reading experience much heartfelt.

I think this is a nice book. It's okay okay... It needs to be more descriptive. I like the plot of it. Umm it's a true story. So it's very emotional to think about it. I feel like we all do this at some point. We take our loved ones forgranted. That's not right. We fight and let our ego and anger get the best of us. While we should communicate. And never let someone go. It's a fight. It's not the end of the relationship you have with that person. This story indicated tht. The way ronak let adhira leave tht party and she met with an accident. And then just because ronak was irritated he didn't stop to help whoever was in the car tht night. He let his anger get the best of him. If ...only if he had known that it was adhira...things might have been different. He is still waiting for her tho. That shows it's true love. I feel like this story taught me to tell my loved ones that i love them and to never take anyone forgranted. Still only because i think that the book could have been more descriptive and i read it in like 3-4 days. When i like a book i usually finish in max to max 1.5 days. It took me more this time because the book was something like I couldn't stop reading it... But definitely worth reading. So 3 stars.
