Year of the Demon

Rate this book
CEO Debbie and demon Shaker’s first year of partnership was a smashing success for both Pandora Productions and their own new intimate relationship, ending with the announcement of their engagement last New Year’s Eve. Shaker now inhabits a human host, Pandora’s rising action star Jett Black, putting the possibility of a family within Debbie’s tentative grasp as the couple pledges their love at the altar. But as before, one crisis after another ensues, beginning with Titan’s push to assimilate Pandora and the death of Debbie’s father, bringing her back together with her estranged family, and into the sights of a demon-hunting priest, Father Matthew, who will stop at nothing to not only send Shaker back to the Hell he came from, but also ensure Debbie is free of sin…permanently. When Shaker is sent back to Hell, Debbie is left bereft, her team of allies decimated, her best friend in a coma, she must decide if she will succumb…or rise from the ashes and fight ruthlessly for everything she loves, no matter the cost.

The power of love compels you. My review of Year of the demon.

Debbie and Shaker are enjoying their great success at Pandora Productions. Shaker is now a great and famous actor named Jett Black who Is secretly a lone human who Shaker has inhabited. The couple announces their engagement at a New Year's party. They get married and look forward to their future. But not so fast. A demon- hunting priest named Father Matthew is determined to send Shaker AKA Jett Black back to hell where he belongs, leaving Debbie alone and having to choose between redemption or hellfire. Like I said before, I don't usually read Paranormal romances but this author got me hooked. Lol. This book was funny and fast-paced. Not a dull moment. I finished this book during this long weekend. The truth is I didn't want to finish it. I tried to read as slow as possible. Lol. I love how the characters evolved from the first book. They were a little older and a bit wiser. Even shakers and Debbie’s evolved into something much more deeper. You will have to read the book to see how. Lol. I received this book as an ARC from Reading Alley in exchange for an honest review.

*** I received an ARC of this book, and I review how, when and where I choose to***

Having devoured "A Good Year", the first book in the "Unhallowed Love" series by Tara Hall, I was eagerly anticipating getting a look at "Year of the Demon", the second offering the series.

Not only did it not disappoint, it exceed my expectations. I found myself rooting for Debbie and Shaker to overcome the myriad of obstacles they face in this story. Lots of twists and turns in the plot, Ms. Hall's writing once again clear and brisk, excellent tempo of the story - not rushed, but not too slow. Without giving away too much, the reader can definitely see a progression of both Debbie's and Shaker's characters but also the depth and width of their connection to each other.

An added bonus are some sizzling hot scenes in this book. If you like characters with obvious physical chemistry, add this book to your reading list. Disclaimer: the scenes I refer to are definitely extremely detailed.

So, Ms. Hall, you've done it - You've ensnared me as a fan of Paranormal Romance. If other offerings in your body of work are comparable to this one, you'll add me to your fan list as well!
