About the author

Professor Marilyn Kelly-Buccellati is an Associated researcher at UCLA Cotsen Institute of Archaeology. She has been excavating and conducting research on the archaeology and art history of the ancient Near East for over 50 years. Her Ph.D. from the Oriental Institute at the University of Chicago was on the third millennium B.C. in the Caucasus. She taught archaeology and art history in California State University, Los Angeles.

She is married to Giorgio Buccellati
