A Lethal Masquerade

Rate this book
A Masquerade Ball…A secret gathering of Bloodmates…And an ancient Vampire who wants them dead!

After having rescued his mate from the clutches of a madman, Gunner thinks that the worst is behind him and Imogen. The surprise invitation from Victor Strong to attend a ball couldn't happen at a better moment. An added blessing, other bloodmated couples will be there as well.

As they’re about to leave for a dream vacation, another attempt to steal Imogen from Gunner occurs, convincing him that jetting to an undisclosed location will guarantee his truelove’s safety. But they’ve barely arrived at the secret destination when battles rage around them with one clear motive: an enemy wants Imogen and they’ll stop at nothing to get her.

Please note, A Lethal Masquerade is a standalone title within A Vampire’s Thirst series.

Great Book

Another great vampire read. The more I read about the Masquerade Ball, the more I have to read. Please don't let them end just yet. With Imogen being a vampire now, will she be able to conceive a baby. It should be a female ancient vamp just for Blaine.

After vampires meet their Bloodmates there is to be a Masquerade Ball - however an acient Vampire has decided he wants them all dead. This story focuses on Gunner and his Bloodmate Imogen. In a previous book in the series he had rescued her from a madman who had kidnapped her so they are both rightly nervous about travelling to the gather but when they receive a surprise invitation from Victor Strong Imogen asked to attend to meet the others. However as they are leaving for the vacation an attempt is made to attack Imogen which they have to handle as it seems they are determined and are not keen to give in.

I loved this book which was a lovely story with contained both drama and danger, but also emotions as they handled the attacks to try to capture or kill Imogen. It was lovely to encounter some of the characters from previous books and to look at this from the point of view of a Vampire who was having to fight much harder to protect his Bloodmate than in some of the other books. Well written and very enjoyable. This book can be read standalone.

A thrilling novella that packs so much into it We once again are following the lives of Imogene and Gunner but we also get to revisit with a lot of the characters from the Thirst and Hunger series

Imogene is starting to come into her full power as a vampire and she is still getting used to all the new powers that she has received. Her and Gunner are invited to a masquerade ball there they will be able to network with like minded vampires and try to form a new path now that they finally have ridden themselves of the collective infiltrators. Danger is still stalking them though and while Gunner tries to protect Imogene and keep her safe she has no intention of standing back she will use her new powers to fight beside her ate.

This is an action packed story that had me turning the pages as fast as I could Elaine is definitely a master in the vampire world

I love all of the stories from A Vampire’s Thirst and this story by Elaine Barris can be read as a standalone but it’s a part of the series and I absolutely loved it. This is a continuation of Imogen’s and Gunner’s story and they have been invited to a masquerade ball where other vampires and their bloodmates will be and Gunner will be able to keep Imogen safe. But not all is as it seems and instead of a dream vacation things literally go to hell. I loved this story and Elaine Barris is my no 1 most favourite author of all time with her vampire stories, thank you Elaine for another little gem of yours and I can’t wait to read more. A fantastic story a 5 plus ⭐️ read and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

Gunnar & Immie are back!

Immie is still getting used to being a vamp and her new abilities. She and Gunnar have been invited to a Masquerade Ball by Victor Strong, celebrating all the Vampires who have managed to find their Bloodmate. it also gives them an opportunity to network with likeminded Vampires and put the whole messy infiltration of the Collective behind them.

Shame, the bad guys didn't get the same memo. Cos they are coming out of the woodwork, fast, and it'll be a wonder if they make it to the ball at all!

Go check in on your Thirst and Hunger favourite couples and of course, take another adventure!

Exciting From the First Page

Once again Ms. Barris lead us on an exciting journey where you can't even bother to place the book down until you are finished. From the very first page you are drug into the exciting world of vampires and werewolves that want to destroy what the vampires treasure about all else, their bloodmates.

Every page you try as you might to figure out if everything is going to turn put the way you want it too. Of course if you read the earlier masquerade books you have an idea, bit I love reading about the different thoughts from the different couples and what they experienced.

You will truly enjoy this quick journey.

Take another visit to the Bloodmate Masquerade Ball with Gunner and Imogen as the main characters this time. Lots of action from nearly the beginning as the couple fights off multiple attacks and plenty of steam in between. Most of their story takes place while they make their way from the States to Scotland for the ball, and it was refreshing to see the shared plot from a totally different view. But don't worry, all the couples make appearances. I enjoyed revisiting Gunner and Immie and their friends.

Suspense throughout trying to figure out the why and who to this mystery surrounding the person after Imogen. Gunner isn't going to risk her and possibly lose her, but Imogen has a mind of her own and is growing into her own as a vampire.

A sense of foreboding runs through the story but there is a happily ever after!

Loved it

I'm a huge fan of the Vampire Thirst series and even bigger fan of Elaine Barris. Ms. Barris knows how to craft characters and a story that are both interesting and fun to read. This is a continuation of Gunner's story and it was fun to see how his and Imogen's relationship is growing. The story is full of steamy passion, drama, and tons of action.

A quick read and very enjoyable. It's based around Gunner and his blood mate Imogen. ♥️

The story is full of danger, romance and even squeezes in some hot times.

Some of the other characters from previous books make an appearance too.

Part of a great series that features different characters in each book.

If you love PNR this is worth adding to your tbr.

Gunnar Mead and Bloodmate Imogene have been invited to a Masquerade Ball being held in Scotland. It's to introduce everyone and their Bloodmates and have a great time. It's not quite the good time they hoped for. Loved this fast paced story. Has a lot of action, danger and steamy romance!! Hold on to your seat, you are in for quite a ride!!

Its amazing how Elaine can pack so much into a novella.
Someone is trying to kill the bloodmates that are on their way to the masquerade ball. Who could it be and can everyone arrive safely and be able to go on with the ball?

They want the bloodmates

This was a fast short story. It explains alot more to the other masquerade reads and was well written, easy to follow and the characters from the others book are there to. Very well done.

Loved this novella of another glimpse into Gunner and Imogen’s life, and no one can write vampires like Elaine! All the action and drama plus the lust and love of the blood-thirsty kind.
