While a paranormal investigator and a hotel concierge butt heads, matchmaking ghosts and an enchanted elevator cause mischief. It’s just another day at Castle Tullamore.
Keela Keane sees things others think aren’t there. It’s the perfect talent for a paranormal investigator and has served her well across the globe. She’s at the top of her field and ready for a new challenge: the enchanted elevator at Castle Tullamore Hotel in her homeland of Ireland.
Senior Concierge Seamus O’Kane has been dealing with the fallout from that cursed elevator for fourteen years, but that doesn’t mean he likes being assigned to assist Dr. Keane in her investigation. Working with Keela is a revelation he never expected, and it’s not long before the project—and Keela—soften his attitude.
But as they get closer to unraveling the secrets of the elevator, all the while dodging the efforts of the castle’s matchmaking ghosts, both Keela and Seamus are forced to admit that the magic of Tullamore might be the best thing to have ever happened to them.
LOUISA MASTERS started reading romance much earlier than her mother thought she should. While other teenagers were sneaking out of the house, Louisa was sneaking romance novels in and working out how to read them without being discovered. She’s spent most of her life feeling sorry for people who don’t read, convinced that books are the solution to every problem. As an adult, she feeds her addiction in every spare second, only occasionally tearing herself away to do things like answer the phone and pay bills. She spent years trying to build a “sensible” career, working in bookstores, recruitment, resource management, administration, and as a travel agent, before finally conceding defeat and devoting herself to the world of romance novels. Louisa has a long list of places first discovered in books that she wants to visit, and every so often she overcomes her loathing of jet lag and takes a trip that charges her imagination. She lives in Melbourne, Australia, where she whines about the weather for most of the year while secretly admitting she’ll probably never move.
I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
“Stop laughing!” Keela demanded, smacking him with a cushion between her own bouts of giggles. “It’s not that funny.” Flopping back against the sofa, Seamus gasped for breath. “Not that funny? A ghost who lived before the Industrial Revolution wanted to give you the sex talk!”
Castle Tullamore Hotel is a hot spot for supernatural activity, when the owner assigns the senior concierge, Seamus, to assist another paranormal investigator coming to visit, he is none to happy. Keela is not your average investigator though, for one, she can see and communicate with the ghosts. An elevator that can send you on interdimensional travel, matchmaking ghosts, and a budding romance, help make this a short and fun read.
The story starts off with Keela giving validation to the existence of supernatural and paranormal beings, she can see and communicate with them, so the reader gets to just settle into and enjoy the world the author has created, no questioning of what is real in that aspect. I liked the spark and interaction between her and Seamus, their romance moves very quickly (short page count) but their closed door romance added some cute moments and emotion to the story.
The main mystery Keela is there to investigate, a Victorian age elevator that can send its inhabitants time traveling or on an interdimensional journey, started off intriguing. I would have liked Keela and Seamus to have went on a journey and the final reveal of what was truly happening was a very quick, kind of confusing at certain points, info dump feeling of an explanation.
The setting of Castle Tullamore Hotel provided a fun location and seems rife with interesting characters for the author to highlight. There are matchmaking ghosts, a studious library ghost, werewolf bellboys, and many more to wreak havoc with guests. This was just over one hundred pages, you won't get a lot of depth to characters, but if looking for a fun, quick read, this will immerse you in a lively little world.
I honestly thoroughly enjoyed this book. I will warn though that it is vastly different to other romance books written by this author. This one isn’t your quick insta love type story. There’s a mystery to be solved and research to be done. We first see the hotel in An Irish Flirtation, this book looks at the history and mystery surrounding it. With a paranormal twist and a blossoming love story this book kept me enthralled. It flowed easily and whilst telling a love story it’s not entirely the main focus of the book.

I only recently heard about Louisa Masters. I had the opportunity to review some of her other books. I like how her main female leads are not your typical female characters. One was a handy person, the other a housekeeper. When I saw that she had more books coming out I knew that it was something I wanted to read.
While Keela is a physician she is first and foremost a paranormal investigator. She does keep her MD license up to date just in case she wants to start practicing medicine again. Seamus is the senior concierge at Castle Tullamore Hotel. He is in charge of fulling Keela’s every whim while she is at the hotel. She is there investigating the Victorian Era lift that has a tendency to time warp riders to a different time period. It also helps them figure out their problems. Keela is hiding something. She can see and talk to ghosts. They are everywhere. She can also tell if people are witches, werewolves or other paranormal things. Seamus starts the story not wanting to be at her every beck and call. As his attraction towards her grows he starts wanting to spend more and more time with her. Keela trusts Seamus enough that she tells him about her special gift. With the help of the ghosts will Keela discover out what is going on with the lift? Will Keela and Seamus realize before its too late that something is brewing between them?
While I liked this book, I didn’t love it. It felt slow and cumbersome. There wasn’t any of the romance that her other books had. I felt like the book needed to be a bit longer. With that being said, I really enjoyed the characters. I loved the random job that the Keela has. A physician tied in with being able to investigate the paranormal. It’s an interesting combination. Mixing pure science and proven fact with something much less so. Her back story, as well, was human. She had spent a while in a psych hospital as she hit puberty when her ability to see the paranormal began to manifest itself. While this book wasn’t exactly knocked out of the park I will still be keeping an eye out for more books by the author. I actually have a short novella of hers to read. Hopefully, it revisits these characters and adds some depth to the story.
Fun and fast paced story This story had me hooked on the first page. I love the characters. Keela and Seamus interact with the ghosts of Tullamore Castle with ease. Keela is investigating the Victorian lift that has paranormal happenings. Each of the ghosts adds to the story. Maude is in the walled garden. She gives a gentle breeze for couples that are fated to be together. Alaster is in the library. He moves or hides books if he doesn't like you. He likes both Seamus and Keela. He helps them in their investigation. There are three ladies that keep Keela company in her room. They are surprised that Keela can see them. I didn't want this story to end. I love Tullamore Castle and the ghosts. I'm sure you will love it too. "Covet" by Ella James 5 stars (2/25/2019) Emotional and Intense! I really enjoyed this book. It is a very emotional and intense story. It is vividly described. I was impressed by the time in the rock slide. It was like you were right there struggling to dig out with Declan and Finley. In the midst of this time Declan is starting to detox from his drug addiction. That addiction is a big part of the story line. It was realistically portrayed. Even though he tried to hide his struggle it caused Declan to do various things to mask his symptoms of his detox. He ran to increase the endorphins produced by the exertion. He also used other methods that were not very savory. Some people may be put off by the realism.
An Irish Attraction was a short(ish) but charming story by the talented Louisa Masters that I absolutely adored so much, and made me with that I could stuck on the Emerald Isle to be honest. See, Castle Tullamore Hotel has a slight issue, it seems to have an enchanted elevator, which tends to freak some guests out, so the owner has called in Dr. Keela Keane to help them figure out what's going on. And to make matters more complicated, Senior Seamus O'Kane has been assigned to help her, which doesn't make him happy. When Keela gets to the hotel, she instantly spots the ghosts all over, as she has a gift or curse, depending on how you look at it, but she doesn't tell many people of it. And this is when this story got so hysterically funny for me, as she starts talking to those ghosts, who are just entertaining as hell, and stole the show as secondaries to be honest. Seamus started out as a bit cranky, but he got in the spirit of it all, and he & Keela were cute, especially with those nosy ghosts set on matchmaking, not to mention the mystery that kept us all on our toes. So if you want to see how it all panned out, you'll just have to read this enchanting story that I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!
I've never enjoyed a novella as much as I have An Irish Attraction. If there was one fault I could find with this story it would be that it was too short.
More! I needed more!
I loved Keela and Seamus and all the inhabitants of Castle Tullamore. I never wanted to leave their universe! So many ghosts with so many different stories to tell!
Keela is at the Castle to research an old Victorian elevator where strange things have occurred. She also can see ghosts and other paranormal entities and the castle is full of them! I especially loved the matchmaking ghost Fiona. The ghosts were really what made the book. They play a huge part in discovering what is actually going on with the elevator, they also seem to bring Keela and Seamus together.
Keela and Seamus relationship was great, even though Seamus was prepared not to like her at the start. Keela's back story is bitter sweet too.
I won't spoil it for you. You have to read this book! It will give you warm fuzzy feelings!
This is a superb mixture of mystery and paranormal with a touch of humor and romance on the side. This book really has it all.
Dr Keela Keane, a paranormal investigator, checks into Tullamore Castle to investigate the old Victorian elevator and requires the assistance of concierge, Seamus O’Kane.
I really enjoyed the wonderful descriptions of both the characters, paranormal and human, and settings as well as the use of some fabulous expressions like ‘Gossiping ghosts’, this sense of fun adds little chuckles throughout the book. However what stood out for me is the way the story is written- I could clearly not only visualise each scene but also hear the way the characters spoke. I felt like a participant in the story, very cleverly done and I applaud this author.
This story has a bit of everything really; paranormal characters and activity, a mystery, a little touch of a drama and a sweet romance.
I thoroughly enjoyed this fast paced, easy to read story and look forward to more reading adventures at Tullamore Castle.

I didn't want this story to end. I love Tullamore Castle and the ghosts. I'm sure you will love it too.
A sweet, mysterious romance that will suck you into the paranormal and leave you wanting more. I absolutely adored Keela’s abilities and honestly want to read another story about the beings she can see. This is the first character I’ve read where she can see more than mere ghosts and I liked the creativity in how the others were viewed. The supporting characters (gossiping ghosts) of Tollamore make this story that much more enjoyable. Keela and Seamus could easily have a TV series about their adventures while exploring the supernatural realm. Highly recommend even if paranormal isn’t your typical reading genre.
