Independent and tenacious journalist Vivian DeMarco is back in Walton, Georgia, for one reason -- to do her job and get out. When her boss suddenly dies under suspicious circumstances, Vivian's only hope for finding the truth -- and the next big story -- is small-town law enforcement's lanky poster boy, Deputy Ryan Frost. But the deeper they dig, the more twisted the truth becomes. False leads, incriminating emails, and someone called the Watcher force Vivian to fight for answers -- and her life.

I did not read book one in The Harbored Secrets series. I can say that I was not lost in book number two Deadly Deceit. It engulfed me from the very beginning and It was that way until the very end. The characters were wonderful. The whole book was very well written. I am now on the lookout for more of Walters books. I gave this book 4 stars. The Mary Reader received this book from the publisher for review. A favorable review was not required and all views expressed are our own.
1.5 stars, personally. (Could have been three stars, but there was some content I wasn't a fan of seeing.)
After reading the first book in this trilogy, I wasn’t sure what to expect with this sequel. I’m definitely not a fan of how heavy the instant attraction was between Ryan & Vivian, though, I thought it was…interesting (not the word I’m looking for, but we’ll go with it) how it was more of her noticing his muscles and such than him noticing her physical attributes. The first book had a lot of that couple’s physically noticing and I was quickly over it. I was over the insta-love in this book pretty quick as well, but there were other parts that took over my attention that I enjoyed.
There’s a few different things/parts that I did enjoy, so let’s discuss those for a minute.
I wasn’t expecting the humor this book had at all and I actually laughed out loud quite a few times. The banter between Ryan & Vivian and then them with their friends were so unexpected, but I really liked those parts.
I liked the small-town vibes, which were much more apparent in this story than the first book (perhaps due to Vivian not being from there but learning to appreciate the charm of small-town living).
Something that might be an odd thing to note, but I also liked how unique the villain was. No spoilers here, but that person wasn’t the typical Christian Fiction Suspense villain I’m used to seeing (i.e. religious motivation which is very common in CF) and it was a unique feature of this book among a few other suspense elements that I haven’t seen before or rarely see.
And speaking of the villain, the parts I wasn’t thrilled with understandably includes that person due all the blackmail that affects the villain’s victims’ lives. This included a high school girl being blackmailed into being a “companion” to men for money after a video is captured of her sleeping with other guys, and while the words prostitute or human trafficking is never used, it’s very obviously known what’s happening.
On a lighter note that still affected my ratings, Vivian and Ryan were super-duper insta-attracted to each other. I already said that, I know, but it needs to be mentioned again. Sure, they were pretty cute together. However, it was a bit much in my opinion of how quick they were interested in and fell for each other. Because of both of their pasts and their fathers not being great men, it’s affected how they let others get close to them and that’s totally understandable, but I wished they had communicated more and didn’t let a misunderstanding happen for so long.
All of those many thoughts said, I do plan on continuing the trilogy by reading the third book. We’re introduced to Pecca and she was a hoot, so I’m looking forward to learning her story.
When Natalie Walters published her debut novel, Living Lies, in May 2019, right away I knew she was an author to watch! And book two in the Harbored Secrets series only confirms that I was right. Deadly Deceit was published in November 2019 by Revell Books.
One of the things that makes Walters' books stand out is the setting. The fictional town of Walton, GA, has the perfect cozy, southern, small-town vibes. The tagline for the series is "Walton, Georgia: everybody knows your name--but no one knows your secret." And that couldn't fit any better. The author does such a fabulous job of describing the small town and its citizens in a vibrant way that instantly draws the reader in. The "small town setting" trope can be a bit overused, but Walters re-imagines it in a way that makes it stand out and does away with the stereotype.
As vibrant as the town is, the characters are even more so! Vivian DeMarco and Ryan Frost are our main characters. Ryan is a deputy with the sheriff's department, and total-nerd-turned-town-poster-boy. He's a bit on the arrogant side, but in an endearing way instead of irritating. I loved his protectiveness toward his family and those he cares about, and his backstory was very realistic and did a great job of explaining some of his personality and thought processes. Vivian is a reporter, and only in town long enough to do her job and get out. I love how her mindset about the town changes as she gets to know its people. I didn't expect to like Vivian at all, but her story instantly grabbed me and I found myself really connecting with her. Both of these characters are really great counterparts to each other, and there are a lot of scenes of hilarious banter between the two, as well as some more heart-touching scenes as together they work through the past and fears. I could go on about the rest of the cast of fabulous characters, but I'll let you pick up the book and get to know them yourself!
The suspense side of the story is, as expected, very intense and keeps you turning pages. I had my suspicions as to what was going on, but there's so much happening I was constantly guessing!
All in all, Deadly Deceit is an action-packed story full of humor and epic dialogue, heartwarming scenes, sweet romance, and more. Walters is an incredibly talented author and her beautiful writing style quickly and easily draws you into the story. I highly recommend this to all romantic-suspense lovers! I am very much looking forward to the release of the series finale, Silent Shadows, in March 2020!

Vivian is just trying to work her way back to a big city paper. Then she finds her boss struggling to breath. As he dies he whispers a word to her. That sets her on a collission course with Deputy Ryan Frost. He just wants to unravel the threads of the mystery to find the truth. In the process he finds himself spending more and more time wiht Vivian. A page turning romance that was a really good read. I enjoyed every page.
I’m kind of a hard sell on romantic suspense because I either find the romance too corny or the suspense not suspenseful enough. This book had a good balance with some fan humor thrown in. I liked the cyber crime angle and it’s not done as much in fiction and really showcased the hero’s brainiac skills. Fans of romantic suspense should really pick this book up! It won’t disappoint.
Plenty of fast-paced action in this one! I love this small town and how it deals with kicking out crime. I really loved Living Lies and knew I needed a copy of this one, because I really enjoyed the writing in the first.
This crime kept me glued to the pages as the Watcher’s misdeeds seemed to have tumor-tentacles in almost everything. I really enjoyed Ryan and Vivian as characters and liked the way they worked together on the case as a policeman and a reporter.
There wasn’t as much Christian content as the previous book, which didn’t necessarily bother me but I’d have preferred to be left with a stronger idea of what Vivian’s faith means to her.
I really loved Pecca as a side character and can’t wait to read her story in a few months. The teaser in the back with her first chapter was almost cruel because it made me want the book so badly!
I’d say 18+ because of the stalker aspect of the crime and the drugs/sex involved in the crime (pretty low key overall)
Thanks to the publisher for a free reading copy. A favorable review was not required.
Deadly Deceit was a suspenseful read. I was pulled into the story nearly right away and some of the things that happened were crazy! The Watcher was a creepy villain and I found myself trying to figure out who he/she was throughout the book.
The main characters were nice. I liked how Vivian and Ryan's relationship developed...it felt authentic and I loved their banter. ;) The ending was really good and left me anticipating the next book.
All in all, this was a great read and I recommend it.

Natalie Walters nails her portrayal of a small town with big secrets! Themes of community, loyalty, and friendship keep this action-filled romantic suspense well within the boundaries of my tolerance of all things scary.
Vivian continues her pursuit of a simpler life in this second installment of the Harbored Secrets series. Her true nature, hopes, and insecurities are revealed as the layers of her often prickly personality are gradually pushed aside. Hometown hero Ryan has mostly outgrown his status of the nerdy underdog while retaining an approachable, nearly adorable nature. Vivian and Ryan’s entertaining banter is sprinkled with countless superhero references that lighten the mood without diminishing the seriousness of their circumstances.
Deadly Deceit has just the right balance of romance and action type suspense to keep me on the edge of my seat without giving me night terrors! Walters crafts witty dialogue and a fascinating plot with exciting law-enforcement-meets-investigative-reporting vibes. I highly recommend this series!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher and was under no obligation to post a review. The opinions expressed are my own.
Oh my word, this book y’all....ugh it was amazing!!! Mrs. Walters has a beautiful and amazing gift with words. Just like I’m Living Lies, this book sucked me in from page one and refused to let go.
As I mentioned in my review about Living Lies, I really wanted a book written on Frost because hello, he is amazing and I loved him in the first book and my love for him only grew in this second one. If I could just have a Ryan Frost in my life, my life would be pretty amazing!
I loved getting to know Vivian more too in this book. I loved her personality and her development throughout this book. It was fabulous.
The action and suspense had me on my toes the whole book and that is part of the reason why I could not put it down even though I probably should have.....Mrs. Walters definitely knows how to craft a suspense book in ways a few authors can master.
One of my all time favorite parts about this book was how geeky it was. I am a huge nerd and geek - just throwing that out there. I love when books include fandoms in it and Mrs. Walters did that and more. I loved how Vivian refused to Ryan as “Captain America” throughout this whole book. It made it perfect.
I honestly could gush for hours about how amazing this book was and how I wish that I could just have my own Ryan Frost in my life (Um yes please!). If you have not picked up this book or even Living Lies yet, then I highly recommend doing so. This series is so good and ugh...it’s amazing so just go read it!!

Deadly Deceit by Natalie Walters is a thrilling contemporary Christian suspense. It is the second book in the Harbored Secrets series but can be read as a stand-alone. Everyone has a past, we cannot change it but neither must we let it rule us. “So tired of hiding the secret… he was chained to his past.” Secrets can be burdensome. They weigh us down. We need to share them and live in the light. But what happens when someone threatens to reveal your secret? Secrets go hand in hand with guilt. We were never meant to live under a cloud of guilt but in freedom. When we are hurt, we may retreat into ourselves, building a wall to protect our hearts. That is not freedom, that is a prison. The bricks around our heart need to be demolished. We need to learn to trust. There is the theme of fathers. Some let us down. We may project our image of and feelings towards our father onto other male figures and even God. God is our loving Father. He will never leave us nor forsake us. “She hoped… when she prayed, God would listen.” God always hears and answers our prayers but not always in the way we want. Forgiveness is a major theme. If we do not forgive, we risk imprisoning ourselves in bitterness. “Forgiveness can release us from bitterness. It’s what God wants.” To forgive is freeing to us as the chains of bitterness fall. There are crimes to be solved. The reader sees the darker side of humanity. We are called to be the light and spread the hope we have found in Jesus. “Finding light in the darkness of humanity.” The characters were realistic and well drawn, being easy to empathise with. I loved Deadly Deceit. It was my first book by Natalie Walters but I am looking forward to reading many more. I think it would make a fabulous movie. I want to leave you with this powerful quote on forgiveness: “Forgiving someone is not saying what they did to you is okay. Forgiving is saying you will no longer allow what they did to you to control your life.” I received this book for free. A favourable review was not required and all views expressed are my own.
I enjoyed this second book in the Harbored Secrets series more than the first. Mainly due to the humor and awesome banter between the characters, and especially between Vivienne and Ryan.
Vivienne was realistic for a journalist - followed leads but when she needed help she knew when to cal for help. Ryan was a great ‘captain America’ - I enjoyed his wittiness though there times he came across as arrogant (which was inconsistent with other descriptions so maybe it was his shield he hid behind due to being the geek/nerd all his life).
For me the suspense was more following the evidence to come to a suspenseful conclusion. The Watcher was twisted and what he got people to do made you wonder about people’s line of integrity vs keeping secrets hidden (there was one character which I would have thought I would rather let the one video get out than having to be forced doing what she had to do).
I’m enjoying this series. Recommended to fans of Romantic suspense.
Natalie Walters has really brought me around to the suspense genre. I love the small town of Walton, and I really enjoy the friendships portrayed in the Harbored Secrets series. Vivian is a character that I wasn't too sure about at first, but just like everyone, she had a lot going on behind the unforgiving reporter facade. Walters really hits the sweet spot of character development, mystery, and realism. There's usually a point that I question the intelligence of a character in suspense novels, but that's not really the case here. The events feel plausible and kept my attention the entire time. Ryan is a character that I was eager to see more of - he is so endearing in the first book, so seeing his character develop so well in this book made my reader heart happy.
I'm definitely looking forward to book three in the series - how great that it's about Pecca, such an engaging secondary character in this book - and I'm a little sad that it'll be the last adventure in Walton.
I received a complimentary copy of this novel from the publisher. This review is my honest opinion.
December 2023 -- I was inspired to give this book a reread after reading the author's recent Christmas rom/com featuring Ryan's sister. Loved that book (Better Watch Out) and I couldn't resist revisiting Ryan and Vivian's exciting love story. This time I listened to it courtesy of Audible Plus and it was just as good the second time around.

Once again Natalie Walters has left me so gobsmacked I'm tongue-tied! What an incredible, deeply satisfying and intriguing romantic suspense!
The author takes us back to Walton, Georgia and I absolutely love the small-town drama and mirth that brings a special light to some seriously sinister darkness. While Deadly Deceit reads totally fine as a standalone novel, fans of Walters' debut, Living Lies, will be thrilled to catch up with Charlie and Lane in this one. Along with some much loved secondary characters. There's a vibrancy and candor to the characters this author creates that make them memorable long after the story is finished.
Both Ryan and Vivian had secondary roles in the first book and it was so much fun to see them a year or so later with Vivian just as singularly minded on making her mark as a reporter. This woman is driven and guarded and isn't about to share everything she knows with a certain deputy investigating a murder. She's all big city girl biding her time in small-town Georgia until a breaking story carries her into loftier journalistic circles.
But Ryan is all small-town boy -- the town's beloved geek who made a name for himself at Quantico. Now every agency in the country wants to sign him up but his devotion to family keeps him in Walton. And he has a super crush on Vivian. A kinda nerdy super crush which is so much fun to read. Be still my heart -- the flirty banter! The multiple superhero/lady love references. The teasing! The nicknames! Zings of humour in unexpected places. Happy swoons and giddy toe-curling all the way to the end! :-)
Riveting suspense with a complicated plot full of twists and turns and danger galore add to the rabid-page-turning quality of this read. Natalie Walters is definitely high up on my list of favourite must-read romantic suspense authors.
FTC Disclosure: I received a complimentary copy of this book from Revell Reads. A positive review was not required. These are my honest thoughts.
This story was fascinating. I enjoyed the psychological vibes strung throughout. The pacing was great, as was the setting of small-town Georgia. The journalism angle was well used, though I would have liked to see Vivian working on articles or something even while working on unraveling the mystery for the bigger piece. I thought the journalism was perfectly countered by the other lead’s being a cop. There was a natural push-pull chemistry between the news writer and the police officer, which made the romance quite believable and organic.
One plot twist—no spoilers here, don’t worry—seemed to be used mostly for a shock factor, which was disappointing rather than a shocker for me. There were zero hints or clues that I saw (even looking back on the path to get there after I was already to that moment), so it didn’t seem very logical. I’m not saying I have to figure out everything along the way; I love it when I’m surprised or shocked or whatever over good plot twists that I don’t see coming but can usually see hints of in hindsight. The surprises work better for me, however, if they don’t feel like they’re being used mostly to manipulate my emotions. This was a big moment in the story that ended up pulling me out of the climax for a few minutes when I really wanted to stay invested.
Overall, this was a great mystery. It was a good addition to the Harbored Secrets series, and it left me ready to read the finale when it comes out.
Content: one expletive, drugs, alcohol, teen prostitution (mentioned but not shown), gambling, one crude sexual term, skimpy clothing (mentioned only a couple of times)
This romantic suspense seemed different from others in its genre; fresh. Of course, the nerdy hero who was lovingly nicknamed Captain America was the best part. But the major crime in this one was exploitation, and what the mysterious Hacker forced the people he had bad footage of to do dwarfed all the other crimes in this book. I loved watching our main characters as they dealt with the baggage from their past and tried to figure out what to do with themselves in the future, all while trying to see where their present flirtation fit in. I almost had to dock a star for saying Hulk and Black Widow were a proper couple, though...
A fresh twist to a classic genre that I had a hard time putting down.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher and the opinions are my own.
Deadly Deceit is the second book in the Harbored Secrets series. I really enjoyed it. I feel like I enjoyed this book more than the first one. I loved the hero and the heroine. The romance is so sweet and the kisses even sweeter.I enjoyed all of the characters and Frankie is a favorite with her sassy banter with her brother Ryan. There is mystery, suspense and nail biting action. The story line is original and it kept me turning the pages. I can't wait for book three.
This book was even better than the first in this series. A well-written, detailed mystery that wasn't easy to figure out, leaving me wanting to get back to reading as often as I could. It would have been better if the characters and story were more centered on the Lord, but it was a good and quick read that I enjoyed. I plan to read the third and last book in this series.
This is the second book in this series, and yes, it is as good as the first, but it can be read alone, previous characters do play a part in this story, but you won’t be lost. A cyber-crime that is destroying lives, and where will it stop, and who will be next, and who is responsible? Answers are forthcoming, but past hurts have to be dealt with in order to get there. We are also offered a sweet romance, but will either of these individuals be able to accept what is offered. Also, will they make it to the end, there are some hold your breath times ahead here. I see we are given a teaser at the end and another friend is about to get their own book! Yes! You don’t want to miss these captivating books! I received this book through the Revell Reads Program, and was not required to give a positive review.
'It didn't matter how much she dressed up on the outside....it wasn't enough. She wasn't enough.'
I thought Natalie Walters' debut novel was good. But she has done an even better job this time around! Seriously, this book is just good. Walters takes us back to Walton, Georgia, and we get to meet up with Deputy Ryan Frost again. The same Deputy Frost who was so geeky in book one. BUT...Ryan has changed. He is a rather swoon worthy hero this go round. And Vivian is so very likeable now. And the banter between her and Ryan is so refreshing and precious. I loved every minute!
The suspense is great. Walters ramps it up with each chapter until you are hanging on, wondering who in the world this culprit is! I never once guessed, either. A cyber criminal is targeting people and no one has any idea what is even going on, or how, much less who this person is. Vivian is determined to find out, being an investigative reporter, no matter if it puts her life in danger. Ryan decides the best way to keep her safe is to let her work with him. That doesn't stop the bad guys, though.
All through the novel, we see the spiritual theme woven delicately that we are all worthy in God's eyes. He loves us, plain and simple, and we are worthy of His love. Well done! Highly recommended.
*My thanks to Revell Publishing for a copy of this book. The opinions stated here are entirely my own.
Deadly Deceit by Natalie Walters. Y'all I don't ever read this genre but this book was so fuuun! Ok well let me take a step back. I enjoyed the plot line. I loved the writing style. I loved loved loved the dynamics between Vivian and Ryan. I liked Vivian as a character, and I loved the way you could tell the change in Vivian over the course of the book. I didn't take the chance to read Living Lies when I had the chance and can I just say I'm super sad about that. I'm not turning down the chance to read the third when it comes out! There were only a few plot things I didn't like in the story. Chapter 13 made me sick. Physically I felt sick to my stomach. I hated it. If I hadn't pressed forward it may have ruined the book for me. Thankfully it was the only one that was that way and the rest of the book was good. Content wise, this is not a children's book. Personally I recommend no younger than 16 years old. CONTENT LIST: There's a lot of kissing, but none of it is detailed. There's a few scenes that are describing an inappropriate video and even though it's not actually describing anything in particular, it made me very uncomfortable and I did skip over that scene. (chapter 13) There was also a scene where a man makes advances on a woman that she didn't welcome but nothing happened. Several inappropriate glances and suggestive mentions are present. There is also talk and discussing children out of wedlock. There's mention and discussion of human trafficking. Drug abuse by minors. Graphic wise, there are mentions of gunshot wounds, lots of pain described. A man dies, but it's not graphic in any way. Four stars! I got a free copy in exchange for an honest review and a positive review was not required. All opinions are my own!
Deadly Deceit is a great addition to the Harbored Secrets series. We are back in small town Walton, Georgia where journalist Vivian DeMarco has been given a job with the local newspaper, The Gazette, by owner Harrold Kennedy after she lost her job with a larger paper. Harrold has been like a father to her, something that she has missed out on most of her life. So when Harrold is murdered she is devastated. Determined to find out who is responsible for his death and to fulfill a last request from him to find out the story about someone named Lauren, she sets out to investigate. Deputy Ryan Frost is drawn to Vivian and finally is able to get her to work with him and the Sheriff's office. What they find out is a complicated plot from someone to harm many people's lives and the culprit is impossible to find. Ryan has been trained by the FBI and is being sought by different agencies. He is able to call on the FBI for help but even they are having problems finding the person responsible. With lots of danger and action, this is a real page turner full of suspense and mystery. I highly recommend this story. I received a complimentary ARC from Revell through NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are mine only.
When it comes to romantic suspense, Natalie Walters is now one of my absolute "go to" authors. This one is book 2 in the Harbored Secrets series, but can definitely be read as a stand-alone. You see the characters from book 1 in this one (and it's good to see how they are doing!), but you won't miss out on anything if you start with this one. This book follows Vivian DeMarco, a reporter who has found herself in the small town of Walton, Georgia. When she gets a call to her boss's house to get the information on a big story, she finds him dying with just a name on his lips. As she works with police to figure out what story killed her boss, she gets more than she bargained for.
Natalie Walters is known for her small town mysteries, deep intense story lines, and quirky romances. This book absolutely fit that bill. The crimes are intricate and in-depth. I was absolutely appalled at the Watcher in this book, particularly as it related to the high school girl on his "list". The faith thread was solid as the characters sought where God was in all of this. The romance was fun with banter that alluded to all things geek (don't worry - if you're not a Marvel or Star Wars fan, she spells it out nicely, but doesnt overdo it if you do "get it"). The characters were completely relatable with their abandonment issues and flaws. I loved how they worked through those things together to grow stronger - both individually and as a couple. Basically, this story did all things right. Great characters, great story, in-depth mystery that had me guessing till the very end, and even though I'm not keen on the romance aspect in most books, I enjoyed the romance in this one. I highly recommend this one to fans of romantic suspense!
Special thanks to the publisher for an advance copy of this book. I was under no obligation to post a review and the thoughts contained herein are my own.
I so loved Vivian and Ryan in Deadly Deceit. I enjoyed their lighthearted banter and their relationship all the way through the book as they worked together to find someone called the Watcher. I wanted to pace myself with this book because I knew I would want book 3 in the Harbored Secrets series. However, both the romantic relationship and the plot kept me turning pages. I didn't have it all figured out and it kept me guessing until close to the end. I enjoyed all of the characters and getting to see Lane and Charlie again. I also liked the small town vibes in Deadly Deceit and how people came together to encourage each other and to form friendships--something we need more of in real life. I also liked that theme of forgiveness and learning to love each other in spite of some flaws. There was one small thing that didn't work for me in Deadly Deceit--I couldn't understand why Ryan's Mom kept her romantic relationship a secret without telling her son until he came back from FBI training. There is a reason given but I thought it was flimsy and I understood while he was upset about that. Again, that was a minor thing and I truly enjoyed Deadly Deceit as a whole. Now I am once again anxiously awaiting the next book in the series, Silent Shadows. We get a brief glimpse at that book at the end of Deadly Deceit.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher and author. All opinions are my own.
Natalie Walters has delivered another intriguing romantic suspense story, with journalist Vivian DeMarco and Deputy Ryan Frost seeking to uncover the identity of The Watcher—a highly tech-savvy blackmailer who is targeting and setting up his blackmail victims. But what does that have to do with the death of Vivian’s boss, Harold Kennedy? And what’s the common link between the other victims? It’s a knotty problem to unravel and definitely kept me reading, but I couldn’t help feeling this story wasn’t quite as strong as Walters’ first.
Before I get to that—some other positives: I loved Ryan in the first book of this series, so I was excited to have him featured as the hero here. There were also plenty of family dynamics in the story, for those who enjoy that. The relationship between Ryan and his younger sister, Frannie, was entertaining, and both Ryan and Vivian had some serious issues to work through, particularly in relation to their fathers.
The drawbacks for me: The romantic tension felt manufactured at times, and when all was said and done, I thought the motive for the blackmailer was a little far-fetched. The plot also seemed a bit untidy as it unfolded. I’m not sure whether I can explain it any better than that without giving spoilers, but I had some minor plot questions the story didn’t answer, and there were other pieces of the puzzle that I had to turn around and study in my mind before I could see how they fit together, even after the story ended.
Those things notwithstanding, this was a read that kept my attention right to the end and is sure to please many romantic suspense lovers.
I received a copy of this novel from the publisher. This has not influenced the content of my review, which is my honest and unbiased opinion.
A report, a hint of a story, an unexpected death (within the first pages), and blackmail are all pieces to the puzzle that is Natalie Walters’s sophomore release.
Deadly Deceit returns readers to Walton, Georgia with a couple of crimes, plenty of twists and turns, and some lively banter between Vivian and Ryan. Plus, the added bonus of these two characters from book 1 of the Harbored Secrets series in the spotlight.
Walters balances the suspense and romance (rife with superhero references, comparisons, and compliments) well while keeping readers guessing who is behind the crimes. Just when you think it’s all worked out, a curveball is thrown and you’re back to square one.

Lots of fast-paced action and suh-weet! romance. One of the most believable and romantic-but-not-icky love stories I've read in a while, mixed successfully with suspense.
Wow, what an exciting book! This mystery was really good and kept me guessing. I loved all the Marvel references, they made for a fun added bonus to the story. I also enjoyed getting to know Frannie better. I would love to see her story!! Looking forward to book three!!
I received this book from the author and was not required to post a positive review. All thoughts are my own.
I really wanted to like Deadly Deceit almost as much as I did Living Lies, but this one took a bit longer before I could say I liked Vivian, who was in the first book and I wasn't a big fan of hers. I found this was slower in pace and it didn't pick up for me until the middle and even then I found it lacking. I did like it, and it was nice to see some of the characters from Living Lies.
