We got to meet Jess in a previous book but now get to see the real her and learn her story.
What an intriguing story line.
Be sure to read the other books in the Haven Manor series in order before you read this one, just makes more sense.
Jess really is an amazing woman, who will she be next? Her disguises where phenomenal .
Art, an old family diary, hidden secrets, danger, the pursuit of happiness,

I’ve been waiting for Jess’s story for-ev-er! When you add the cameo appearances of beloved characters from other stories I was giddy with delight. In fact, I think the cameo appearances is my favorite aspect of this story. To see several books come together in one story…happy dance!
I also loved the chemistry between Jess and Derek. Seeing them interact usually had me chuckling and quickly reading to see what would happen next.

A Pursuit of Home wildly and beautifully exceeded my high expectations. From her mind-blowing backstory to the long-awaited glimpse into her heart and mind, Jess completely captivated my reader heart. This series should be read in order.

4.5 stars
Well, I didn't think that was going to be Jess's huge secret past! I loved how vibrant she is in this story and the various twists and turns the story takes to get to the happy ending. A lost brother rediscovered, and a chance to solve all the royal issues in her family by finding a lost artifact. At first Derek is along "just because of" his interest in the artifact finding and the puzzle to find it, but pretty quickly it's clear that he's getting addicted to feisty and quick-spoken Je ...more

Stunning, utterly unique and gigantic twist in the whole Haven Manor series - I literally could not stop reading. What I loved about the very first book I read by this author has returned in what is by far the best in the series.

Okay ... *sigh* I'll admit it. I held off reading this book for FOREVER because I don't like mysteries (outside of television and movies, in which case I CANNOT GET ENOUGH SIGN ME UP FOR A MARATHON), and I didn't think I'd like Jess that much (she just rubs me wrong), and I was being #stubborn.
But dude. We all make mistakes. Stop holding that against me! I HAVE CORRECTED THE ERROR OF MY WAYS! #forgivenesstime

Kristi Ann Hunter has reaffirmed her status as one of my all time favorite authors! A Pursuit Of Home is Jess's story. I have liked Jess since she first appeared in A Noble Masquerade and now I finally know her story. This is a fantastic adventure, with two people learning to trust, each other and more importantly God. I also enjoyed catching up with some old friends. I highly recommend this book. So grab you pot of tea and settle in for Kristi's newest read.

I’ve been waiting for Jess’s story, and I wasn’t disappointed. It was just as convoluted, mysterious, and exciting as Jess herself. There were beloved characters from previous books that added much to the story, but the character and skills of Jess really come through in this story.
Though the story is wrought with suspense and intrigue, Jess still is what makes this book so good. Her varied and amazing costumes, many talents, and backstory are fascinating. Her future uncertain

This was a great way to end the Haven Manor series! I was intrigued by Jess and was so glad to get to know her, and we did get to know her. I found the first half to be slow-moving, but I didn't lose heart. But the other half I found was more open with Derek and Jess really getting to know each other and allowing the reader to see Jess more open, and not so secretive with Derek who was seeing her for who she really was. Very enjoyable!

Sob! It's over, isn't it? This is the last book in Kristi Ann Hunter's Haven Manor series and I think I need to bring out the bookish widow weeds and mourn the end of this series in true Regency style. Sniffle.
I listened to the audible version (yay Beverley A. Crick -- excellent narration!) and I was so reluctant to say goodbye to these characters that I made the book last a week. I'd listen to a chapter and then pause while I relived every exquisite moment and had some fun plotting what might o ...more

Yay!! I have been waiting for Jess’s story ever since The Noble Masquerade. That’s 6 books I’ve been waiting (yeah, yeah, it wasn’t a hardship but still!). When we met Darek in book 2 of The Haven Manor series, I rang my hands in gleeful anticipation. I knew Darek and Jess’s chemistry was going to have me grinning up a storm. And I wasn’t wrong. These two are a classic look at opposites attracting. She gets him to look at the world differently and vice versatility. They round each other out in s

From the fertile mind of Kristi Ann Hunter comes a tale of intrigue. A spiritual journey is in store for Jess Beauchene and a trip to a place she has left behind. While in hiding, word comes that one she thought dead needs her help to solve a mystery. Jess has been holding her own for ten years. She is capable and equipped to defend herself. So she is confounded to realize that she in turn needs help from a man who irritates her no end. He comes in the person of art and antiquities curator, Dere

We FINALLY have Jess's story!! Insert "squealing" here! I have been needing Jess's story for several books now and am so excited it's finally released! I could not put this one down. Derek is a perfect match for Jess in every sense of the word and I adored him and his growth in the book. Jess's backstory was one I wouldn't have thought up but it was perfect the way Kristi wrote it. We are reunited with several characters from the Hawthorne House set and that was a favorite part of the story for

Kristi Ann Hunter’s Haven Manor series is a Regency delight. The latest addition, A Pursuit of Home, proves to be everything I expected for Jess Beauchene (but of course, never would have guessed). It is a fitting conclusion to the series—with appearances from its many beloved characters (and even a few from the Hawthorne House series).

This is definitely the best book in this series! I absolutely loved it! Not only do we finally get to learn Jess’s story, we also get to visit with some old friends! This makes me want to reread all of these books! This was definitely worth the wait! Kristi Ann Hunter is definitely a favorite when it comes to Regency!
I received a complimentary copy from the publisher. I was not required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are mine alone.

Kristi Ann Hunter is one of my favorite Regency period writers. The setting of Haven Manor has been perfect for this series, and from her detailed descriptions, I think I could recognize the Manor if I came upon it during a walk in that fictional countryside. Her storylines are interesting and always have a thread of intrigue. There’s been some other wonderful characters in this series, but Jess has always been the character in whom I’ve been the most interested. There’s always been such mystery

Another great book from Kristi Ann Hunter. I really enjoyed Jess' story. There is quite a bit of back story that even links into the Hawthorne House series. I wasn't exactly sure where this story was going, but I like where it ended up. I'm glad to see that Daphne, Kit, and Jess all got their happily ever afters.

Wow! Jess's story was such a surprise! We got to know Jess a little bit in the previous two books in the Havon Manor series and I was intrigued to know more...but I didn't expect what was going to be revealed in this book!

"I am starting to wonder . . . .if I have ever actually met you. . . . . . Are you that prickly, argumentative woman . . . . or are you the woman who talked to me in the hayloft?"
Sometimes Jessamine Beauchene doesn't even know who she truly is, so how can she possibly explain herself to the man who has morphed from constantly irritating into annoyingly (or in rare instances adorably) perceptive? Jess has been an enigma since the first book in this incredible series, A Defense of Honor. She’s cantankerous and intensely private. DNF - I just could not get into this book. I love the concept.

I have greatly enjoyed this series, but for some reason this last book fell a little flat for me. Jess is such an intriguing character with her mysterious past, and I was excited to learn about her origins and everything she has gone through to bring her to where and who she is. I liked the contrast in personalities between her and Derek, and the way they come to appreciate each other's unique talents and abilities. The vagueness of the mystery they are solving made it hard for me to reason out
