A brief profile of 8 of the most renowned saints from history, with a few pages and illustrations dedicated to each. The illustrations are, as is usual for 1960s Ladybird books, quite wonderfully well painted and colourful. (Although the one of St Andrew on p15 depicts something other than that described in the text!?) As this is intended to be an 'easy reading book' for young children, the vocabulary used is somewhat more basic than in many other historical Ladybird books which is rather a shame. Some dates and a smaller font allowing more details might've been welcome too. 3.75/5
