Award winning author J.M. Kearl brings to you the second book in the RISE series.
The enemy king is dead. The war to free magic is here.
Daelyn risked life, love, everything to free her father from prison. Now hunted by the new King of Hesstia, she, warrior Boaden, and her father are forced to flee into the outlaw land of Nordia for safety. With bandits thirsting for the price on Daelyn’s head, and the king's men in pursuit, they find the journey home even more dangerous than they could have imagined.
As if the perils from the enemy weren’t enough, Daelyn’s new found magic might be powerful but if she can't gain control of it, she'll be more of a hazard than help in the fight to free magic.
Swords clash, magic explodes, and battles erupt in the war the kingdom of Delhoon wanted, but when the enemy king acquires an advantage no one was expecting, Delhoon’s magic and combat prowess might not be enough to win this war.
A bit slower this time in the beginning but it picked up more and more as the story progressed. And what a cliffhanger! I can't wait to get to the next book in this series.
This book was amazing. It captured me just like the first one. Pulling me in making me feel for all the different characters and making me NEED the next one. For anyone looking for a fantasy with a touch of romance this is the series you need to read. Cant wait for the next book😊
This second book was such a page turner. From the first chapter to the last, I couldn’t stop. The reviews on Amazon said to dedicate a weekend to read the trilogy cause you won’t want to put it down and I 10000% agree to that. The character development through the book was incredible and to see Daelyn grow into this badass women was amazing. The multiple story lines come together very seamlessly and makes the overall plot so interesting.
So many things...storyline is good, but the writing is riddled with grammar mistakes, misspelled names that are inconsistent, changes in story background, incorrect semicolon usage, etc.
For my clean readers: violence-war, slavery, torture, and murder. Romance-kissing, and description of nakedness, bedroom scenes, talk of sex, prostitution, etc. Language-tons, but no f-bomb.
I had an early release of this book, and it’s AMAZING! Love where this series is going! The characters are still great and we learn more and more about them on a different level while also introducing some new interesting characters. Daelyn and Boaden 💕 There is definitely a strong theme of wrath in this book and I ate it all up! Can’t wait for book three!
I am eagerly awaiting the third book! One can’t help but to love Enden who wants to do the right thing but it bound by the indoctrination of his father. There is love, intrigue, and action. Daelyn and Boaden are fantastic characters and I can’t wait to read how Daelyn grows even more!
I really enjoyed these 2 books. You can feel the betrayal, love and revenge in the characters. Too bad the author needs to hire a better editor. I would think book 2 would have a much better proof reader but the typos are annoying. If it wasn’t for this errors I would give it five stars. Can’t wait for the next book hopefully error free!
Wow! I love the second book in the series. The way the relationship grow and how Daelyn discovers her magic. Some justice is served and some unique connections are uncovered. I can’t wait to see what happens in book three. The book stayed with me til the end and I had to keep reading!
As with the first book in this series, this one needs a lot of editing work. The storyline is great, but the constant grammar and punctuation mistakes prohibit the easy flow of reading. Some parts could to be expanded upon and others less. This series has five-star potential.
I was lucky to have this second book on hand immediately after finishing the first, and I’m even more lucky to have the third waiting for me as soon as I finish this review. This book flows smoothly without getting bogged down with details of battles. I can’t stand reading about every sword slash for page after page, so I was pleased with the way this book handled fighting. Similarly, the romance was present and steamy but didn’t bog down the story. I’m throughly enjoy this series, so on to the next!
It's a good edition to the series,so not at all disappointing except for one thing. The constant narration, I would be more generous with the rating otherwise
Talk about fearless FMC and supportive/broody/handsome/BA MMC. I love all the characters in this book and how they grow more and more. And the twists and turns that it has. Amazing trilogy!
This is the second book in the series and MAN-O-MAN! I love this series. It's a romantasy series with closed door romances. I usually like more romance, but the plot really held onto me and I enjoyed the all the twists and turns of this book.
