Persian Pop Priestess and Spiritual Gangsta, Asa Soltan Rahmati shares seven sacred rituals on beauty, love, career, family, and friendships. She finally gives her loyal legion of fans the book they’ve been begging for, providing them with the tools to find confidence, empowerment, and channel their inner priestess.Asa was eight years old when her family fled their war-torn country of Iran to seek refuge in Germany. To say she experienced culture shock after arriving is an understatement. She had never seen anyone that looked and acted so different from her, and she didn’t speak a word of German or English. She felt completely cast off from her land, her culture, and her people.Feeling a need to connect to her culture and herself, she created rituals that she practiced every day. At first they were a simple way to create a sacred space for herself so she could go within and remember who she really was. But when she became a refugee for the second time moving from Germany to Los Angeles, those rituals kept her deeply connected to her Inner Priestess—the authentic version of herself that existed without ego, baggage, or attachments to material things. In Golden Asa shares how you can connect to your Inner Priestess with seven rituals she’s developed throughout her life—rituals that will help you clean out your body, your environment, and your emotional life so you can live without negativity and fear. Within each chapter are fun, lighthearted tips based on Asa’s own personal journey to find peace and acceptance, as well as stories and photos from her childhood to illustrate the impact these rituals can have.Whether you choose to focus on one ritual separately or all of them at once, Golden can guide you to a state of glamorous, gorgeous mindfulness and a chance to live the life of your dreams.
This book has a LOT of great rituals and ideas for positivity and self transformation. One thing that bugged me though was how she kept writing Lover (referring to the reader) as in. C'mon lover, you should try this out and change your life. Once I could overlook, but 2-3 times over 2-3 pages is too much already. My fave pic was the one with Asa wearing her mom's old wrap around skirt as a cape.
I'm generally not a big believer in self-transformation. however, there were some aspects of this book that I found value in. Asa works a lot with the ideas of rituals. Rituals for her help to ground her life and help remind her of the things that are most important. I think I find a value in a book of this nature by how much I can relate it to my own life, and what parts I can adapt for my own.
Asa has several rituals that I found would be very helpful if you already practice yoga or have some sort of meditation exercise. She has a gratitude ritual that I found to be very helpful incorporating into my practice. She also has a very established morning ritual for self-reflection that just involves 5 minutes of peace, without immediately looking at your phone, which I think would be helpful to many of us these days.
Some other great practices that I found were to be the most helpful were in the following list of advice that I personally found grounding in my life. - don't become a victim of your own life - protect yourself from negativity - The mind follows the body - nurture your relationships - Your Home is your Haven - Emotional attachments to material goods is unnecessary - Your vibe attracts your tribe
Definitely not as fun to read towards the end, since I felt that the author talked a lot about herself and didn't have very many original ideas to bring to the book. But if you really need something that is going to give some extra juice to an established routine of self-love and self-reflection, then this is the book for you!
I am only midway in my rituals and I have to say when you're in need of renewal the right words will find you. Asa embraces the cultural barriers we set on ourselves by accepting that the best part of her are the rituals that helped her grow in her youth. I believe we all forget what made us once happy and become conformed in our everyday lives forgetting to take a minute and care for our minds our bodies our souls.
I gave it a five before finishing it because this book is an awakening to what we forget to nourish the most ourselves. I hope Asa writes more books she's meant for this. I will admit that I'm not a fan of celebrity writers or even "how to" books. But this book is speaking to my spirit which long ago I stopped paying attention to.
I'm grateful to have chosen this path I'll come back to share the results of adding the rituals to my everyday life.

Enjoyed this book immensely. As I read it, it was as though Asa was with me and chatting like a close friend would to encourage me to put myself first and care for my soul, spirit and mind. Easy read and flowed well. It will remain in my collection.
The book was excellent. Asa way of writing how one can be a Priestess by using her life struggles was great. I will recommend this book to all women of all ages.
I don't follow reality tv stars so I didn't know who she was before this book. She kept mentioning her show that she's on in the book which I've never heard of nor would I be interested in seeing after reading this. Although I did enjoy her book. She mentions some positive things to do & how to change your life for the better. To view & do things with intention & passion. I really enjoyed listening to this audio book while doing my daily chores & learning ways to make my life have more meaning. Although I wouldn't be interested in watching her drama filled show I would be interested if she wrote another book.
