The book Boy Trouble by Sheryl and Carrie Berk is a realistic fiction novel. It follows a 13-year old girl named Emma. Emma is a girl who likes to help other people out with their love lives. Emma enjoys helping people out, she even has her own blog on helping people with boy trouble. Even though Emma is very good at helping other people out with their love life, she isn’t very good with her own love life.
This book mainly takes place in Emma’s school. The reason I say that it mainly takes place in her school is because the book is mainly about the Sadie Hawkins dance. The Sadie Hawkins dance is a middle school dance where the girls have to ask the boys to go with them. Emma helps a lot of people on her blog to try and figure out how they can ask them in a special way. Emma helps them by them emailing them a question and then Emma gives them her opinion on how to solve their problem.
My favorite part of this book is when Jackson asks Emma to dance ith her towards the end of the book. The reason this is my favorite part is because I think it is so romantic. At the beginning of the story, they went on a date for math homework and now they are dancing at the Sadie Hawkins dance. In the novel, it states, “Ya wanna dance?” This shows that he wants to dance with Emma and doesn’t want her for math problems anymore. The novel also states, “You look amazing.” This shows that he cares about her and is making her feel good about herself.
I would recommend this book if you like reading about the problem that involves love. The reason I say this is because there is a lot of exactly that. Emma has to help a bunch of people that have problems with their love lives. The main reason I say “problems” in their love life is because people ask Emma for help on how to fix what they have done to their significant other or someone they have a crush on. Emma is very good at what she does and almost fixes everything and if not she tries her very hardest.
