You got me, Crimson Syn! You got me good. For anyone who picks this book up, I highly suggest going in blind. It's dark and twisted and will keep you guessing until the end. Lilith attracts almost obsessive attention and she likes it. She doesn't want to but she just can't help herself. Then there's Adrien, who wants to give her everything she needs and even things she doesn't know she needs. This story is sexy and intense and not to be missed.

I haven't really explored dark romance in the past. I have nothing against this sub-genre, it's just something I haven't fully ventured into. So, when Crimson Syn announced she was changing things up for this Valentine's, I have to admit I was curious to what she would deliver. I'm going to also admit, this novella has pique an unknown interest I didn't know I harbored.
Warning to the audience: this book has triggers. This book may be sensitive to some readers.
Devious Heart is without a doubt dark, but it's also cleverly twisted.
Lilith used to enjoy life to it's fullest, until one traumatic night things changed. She became reclusive, anxious, and doubtful. She didn't believe in love until she met Adrien. A man who only wants to love and protect her. Can Lilith overcome her fears and open her heart?
When I began reading the book, I wasn't confident that I would appreciate this book to it's fullest. The story had me sitting at the edge of my seat, waiting for something, the other shoe to fall. Then I realized this was the writer's goal. Open your mind and explore those dark areas one keeps hidden.
This book was well detailed, so if you're into dark romance, this novella is just the one for you.

OMG!!!! 😲😯... That was totally unexpected!!! 😨 But somehow I knew I just knew... Wow Crimson you've done it again. Perfectly calculated and exceptionally well written. This book had me from start to finish. I can't elaborate on anything but I will say this book is by far the best to date. Plots, twists and turns it will come at you like a damn tornado and sweep you up and turn you inside out. PHENOMENAL is what it is 💖. Devious Heart is exactly that I'm blown away... 5 stars does not give this book justice. With that being said alot of people may find this book full of triggers which in some way it has but I promise you it's all worth it. Don't waste anytime Preorder this bad boy 😈you won't be sorry

This is not your typical romance. It is dark and twisted and filled with secrets, lies, and obsession. The storyline is fast paced and not for the faint of heart as some scenes may contain triggers for some. Adrien and Lilith's unusual connection will have you second guessing yourself until the very end.

Adrien has been obsessed with Lilith Beaufort from the first moment he saw her and he knew that he had to have her at any cost.
But for Lilith the cost was high and she became a shell of the person she once was. But when someone comes along to help her remind herself of the woman she once was will she have the ability to conquer all her fears?
This is one of the those books that make you question every sense of morality in your body.
The beginning left me so upset for Lilith what she went through and I completely understood why she began to fall apart. I believe I would be the same way. The reasons behind the actions that were done to her were infatuation and "love" but it was so wrong and I felt terrible.
When Lilith is encountered on the bus things began to look up for her with the new job and everything that came her way but the reader was putting together the pieces and I was happy for Lilith but disturbed at the same time.
I knew the infatuation that Adrien had for Lilith and I was happy about the help he was giving her but I was still shocked by previous events.
When the events at the house took place at the end of the book I was wondering if my guess was right and it was. I was so mad that she was forced to go through it again but I was happy this time she had fight.
The end was a little disturbing with how it all worked out as I wasn't sure I had wanted it to.

Extremely well written story line that will have you cringing, panting and wondering what will happen next. Lilith, the one he watched and followed. The one he craved for his own. The one he waited for the perfect time to take. And he did.
Adrien. Rich, successful and carries a dark heart. One that has been dark for quite some time until he sees the sunshine in the form of the young woman he sees on the bus. He's intrigued, and he wants to get to know more about her. He offers her a job as his personal assistant. He needs her close so that he can get to know her better.
This story will take you on a trip through one man's darkness, one woman's confusion and fear and one man's desire to awaken his devious heart. This was a great read but be warned, there are triggers that may affect some readers. For those who will not be affected, I highly recommend this book.

What a wonderful Dark Romance. The author has given us fascinating characters who come to life in this suspenseful, romantic yet tragic storyline. I offer the authors Kudos for a job very well done. The book help me captivated from the start to the very end.
Lilith was a young carefree woman with lots of friends. I wouldn’t call her a party girl per say, but she loved life and lived hers to the fullest, right up to the night her home was broken into and her life was dramatically altered. Her love for life is broken, she fears the night and has become a loner. She just wants to blend in and be left alone. But then she meets a stranger on the bus; Adrien. A man who sees his own broken spirit in her and wants to help her. Lilith is drawn to his charismatic personality and his strong desire to help her. But is Adrien everything he seems to be? Is he truly sincere or is he drawing Lilith in like a moth to a flame.
The twist and turns and erotic pleasures will keep you guessing and turning the pages til the very end. I must agree with the author that the book could have possible triggers for some, but for this reader I was truly intrigued and hope the author continues to write books in this genre. 2 Thumbs Up and 5 stars for a dark romantic read. If this genre is for you, I highly recommend reading Devious Heart.

Changing her job, living situation, and outlook on life are the only things that give Lilith a feeling of control. But she still lives with the constant fear that the man who attacked her will find her again. And she isn't wrong. He does find her again but she'll never know it.

I picked this up because I saw it reced in one of my book groups and man I was not disappointed. It’s a dark, stalker romance with a twist. Super addicting and might leave you a bit speechless. Very quick and easily binge able.

Devious Heart is a standalone dark romance and Crimson’s first time on the dark side. I think she did a fabulous job and this story is thrilling, gripping, naughty, shocking, and oh so steamy! If you are new to dark romances, I recommend that you read the warning label since this book does contain some triggers.
Devious Heart tells the story of Lilith and Adrien. Lilith has been through a difficult experience which has caused her to be more anxious and fearful. When she unexpectedly meets Adrien, he offers her a job as his personal assistant. Lilith begins to thrive in her new position, and because of Adrien, she begins to trust again. But Adrien is hiding several secrets, ones he hopes she’ll never discover.
I just loved this story, and I was on the edge of my seat throughout the book. It is well written and full of several thrilling twists. Looking forward to Crimson's next book!

I know that there is a Warning for this book, but I felt I should re-state that again. This is a very, very dark romance. The very first chapter/prologue is told from her stalker and then goes into a rape scene that may be a trigger for some readers. This obviously has a huge, huge impact on her. I cannot imagine that it would not have that effect on anyone that is violated in this manner. My heart broke for her and everything she went through.
Fast forward months later and she meets a guy that is on her bus route, he leaves his phone and she tries to run him down. He ends up meeting her, getting his phone and offering her a job as his assistant. I honestly don’t know exactly what to say about him, but I am not sure he is much better for her on some levels as the stranger that violated her. He says he is trying to help her get over it…..but…..I just did not care for his methods. Not really a huge fan of him and his methods. I don’t want to give too much away, but know that this is one screwed up ride to get to their hea. They do have one, I have no idea how, but circumstances create interesting outcomes.
There may be triggers for some, very, very, very dark romance. This was technically a safe read with the couple themselves, because there is no cheating…if you can get past all the triggers. There was quite a bit of heat between the couple, baby batter, epilogue and an hea. This is a book that you read at your own risk, the warnings have been given, but it really was a well written book, which is why I gave it 3 stars. I am a huge Crimson Syn fan, so if you love super dark reads….then here you go. You are welcome.

Dark twisted psychological romance
Wow Crimson Syn’s latest release is a roller coaster ride on a moonless night! I will leave you to decide if you like the “hero” after reading the book! I do recommend this book but please pay attention to other reviews and the author’s own caveats about the darkness of the storyline. Adrien, the “hero”, is a self-proclaimed a$$hole but I think Lilith might have explained him best when she said, (and I am para-phrasing from Crimson’s book) narrowing her eyes at him, ”Arrogant and a damn mofo!” Lilith is a bit of a lost soul. She is looking for love in all the wrong places! Until a traumatic event takes place in her life and she withdraws from all friends and family. Enter Adrien into her life and so begins the twisted romance between these two. I appreciated Crimson’s attention to detail in the storyline and her characters. The book is a page-turner. I couldn’t put it down. There are some very intense salacious scenes in this book. There is a rape scene. Be warned. But again I do recommend the book.

This is a story of a woman name Lilith Beaufort was hurt one night very badly by a stranger, she change how she dress, walk, if she could the way she talked. She meets a man on the bus name Adrien Blackhart on the bus he lost his phone. And a man name Adrien, his character, or his personality disorder, in some way, he is possessive with Lilith, since he saw her, he almost have a obsessive- Compulsive, way about Lilith. Adrien, he didn't have a wonderful childhood, and was abused by his father who nearly killed him but his Uncle Boone taken him in till Adrien made to college, and he had a accident and pass away. Adrien his mother never protect him from his father but she stayed with his father. His uncle left all he own to Adrien. Lilith is Adrien sunshine the only good thing he thinks in his life. Adrien never know love, his feeling is love is rough, and have violence, is all he know about love. Till he meets Lilith Beaufort. Their a twist at the end of this book, that you have to read to believe. And I enjoyed the twisted plot.

This is the first book I have read from Crimson. Sounded like a very interesting book. Interesting is not the word to use to describe this book. Intense mind blowing twists and turns. The ending hold on because it will blow your mind. This storyline was gripping from the very first paragraph to the very last paragraph. I couldn't put this one down. There was a tigger for me reading this but once I got passed that I fell in love with this story line. She goes through something that changes her life in one night. She tries so hard to deal with what happened but it isn't as easy as you think. Adrian awakes something in her that she had been hiding since that night. Adrian needs her needs her light her sunshine. She gives him back life. But is it enough ? Again the ending I was shocked speechless. This was so well written. Gripping enjoyable. Crimson gained a fan.Highly recommend reading this one.

I cannot say too much about this story without giving the whole story and the twists and turns away.
This story is short, fast paced and dark. I would definitely give this story a trigger warning. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters intriguing and the storyline
Adrien and Lilith are both intriguing characters. Both of them have darkness to them but Lilith didn’t start off that way. She used to be fun and carefree. After something happened to her she changed her ways.
I liked the twists and turns in this story. I wouldn’t say it was a romance but it is a dark journey of love and darkness.
The storyline for this book is easy to follow and a dark intriguing read.

What a devious story by a devious writer and a very apt title. I started reading this and thought I knew what was going to happen but I was wrong. From the time of the assault Lilith was a broken woman obviously thinking that she had brought it upon herself. I thought Adrien was a dark knight in shining armour and I suppose he was in a twisted way. A very well written book which leads you up the garden path and then lets you fall off a cliff at the end with the ending. Did I see it coming and what do I think of Adrien, I don't quite know? Very atmospheric and a book which you will enjoy I am sure. Dark and dastardly but quite brilliant.

Extreme darkness. Completely f**ked up. The h is repeatedly r**ed by H and then she's in love with him??? She wouldn't if she knew what he did to her and why. Many kinds of abuse, apart from the physical ones done to h. All through the story, H is justifying what he has done to h "they say in order for you to make people realize who they truly are they need to experience a traumatic event". The story gives acceptance to r**ppists and it's also giving free rein to conjugal abuse; it's not that simple - people don't leave an abusive partner for tons of reasons but never because they are weak. At the end, H is playing God against h. There is nothing acceptable in this story.

Loved this dark twisted tale.
The only thing to say about this book is YOU NEED TO READ IT!!! This is a perfectly devious story and I loved every minute of it. It draws you in and keeps you guessing and the characters are phenomenal. Adrien is sexy, devious and makes no apologies for his crude personality. When he sees Lilith he sees a woman who is hiding herself away and he wants to know why. Grab this heart pounding dark twisted romance and find out what happens when these two come together. It's an awesome story and I highly recommend it.

Yes there are triggers, but most dark romance novels have something that could be a serious triggers for some. Darkness can come in many forms. There are things that not only damage us but that break our innocence and our spirit. Secrets can be the thing that holds you hostage to emotions that you need to overcome. Picking up the pieces can be next to impossible. This story is not for the faint of heart. It is fast paced. It has twists you do not expect, but it is Lilith’s story. As a reader your choice is whether or not you walk through this journey with her to get to the other side.

Ryder saw Lillith in a bar on Valentines Day, he felt lust, protectiveness, and the beginning of an obsession. Lillith was a rebellious tease, she was careless and never noticed Ryder until the night he violated her and she loved it. Her mind could not accept that she loved what Ryder did to her that night and she tried to become invisible but he wouldn't let her, it was time to reveal himself. As Ryder revealed himself Lillith began to heal and they began to love. An awesomely written book. For her first foray into dark romance Crimson Syn did an excellent job. I recommend this book to you.

Heed the warning. This book is a dark romance and the darkness starts off right at the beginning. As the story progresses you see Lilith and Adrian find each other but not without many obstacles. Throughout the whole story I was just waiting for the other shoe to drop. When the twist did come I it had me gasping and thinking I was oh so wrong. But wait Ms. Syn drops another twist that was has you saying WTH!!!!

Although this book is a short read it is full of suspense, drama, twists, turns and a dark romance. Once you start reading it you may just find it difficult to put down till you have finished it. I found mt self-sitting on the edge of the seat more than once as I read this. There is dubious consent issues and a rape scene, so you have been warned if these are going to be an issue for you. The fun part of this book is that just when you assume you have it all sorted the author throws in anther twists! Really great writing.

Their love isn't sweet or pure...it's depraved, tortured and dirty. Adrien is beyond lust. He's obsessed and has turned into a serious stalker. Most men would just ask the pretty girl they're interested in out on a date. Not Adrian. He has other plans.
This gets dark. the attack and following sex --whether it's seduction or dubious consent--is erotic, and at times, uncomfortable. I'm not sure if that was the intent.
Despite Adrien's seductive skills and dirty-talking manipulation, you can feel the lingering wrongness. This book doesn't stick to the usual dark romance playbook. Adrien isn't a dark hero or an anti-hero or even "yeah, he's a monster but he's her monster" leading man. He's way in the shadows without the hero. Lilith is his light. It's an interesting take on this type of story.
Some more editing, mostly for content, not grammar would help. There are some timeline conflicts and some general issues that another eye could help tighten up and fix.

Mind blown. Crimson Syn went there. This novella was truly darker than I'm used to reading from this author but as usual, never disappointed. It wasn't my favorite of her books but she still threw out a great book to the wolves and delved into a dark place that might be hard for some to fathom. Lilith and Adrien were two damaged souls lost in the dark. The light at the end of a dark and twisted tunnel is not always paved with decent intentions. When you think you figured it out, the end will tear your theory to pieces if not your soul.

This is definitely a wicked book. I'm a huge fan of uniquely twisted and devilishly delicious books and DEVIOUS HEART may have broken my jaw from how hard my jaw-dropped with that twist.
Crimson doesn't disappoint. The plot (which some will find offensive) was so good. The characters are so interesting and you feel their darkness.
But that twist is one of the best I've experienced in a very long time. Dark romance with shocks and characters you won't want to forget is what awaits you within these pages.
