It was great and the drama continues, and I enjoyed it completely. Let's see how it's going to go and then Keep on Reading.

I have always loved comics, and I have I can. I love comics to bits, may the comics never leave my side. I loved reading this and love reading more, you should also read what you love and hope always to love them. Even though I grew up reading local Indian comics like Raj Comics, Diamond Comics, or even Manoj Comics, now's the time to catch up on international and classic comics and Graphic novels. I am on my quest to read as many comics as I just want to Keep on Reading.

Ok, seriously what is with Nino? This is the second time she has druged Futaro... And also, what is with their step father??? Overall, its still an ok series woth some cute parts but the druging Futaro is not cool at all.

Wow, this was an intense volume!

Futaro is definitely one of the better harem protagonists because he is a caring person, but he also doesn't tolerate other people's shit. Also, he has no qualms about doing morally gray shit to get what he wants and I applaud him for that. While Nino drugging him again wasn't cool (seriously, what is wrong with her?!) I'm so used to her behavior at this point that it doesn't surprise me anymore. Speaking of Nino, she was definitely the star of this volume, getting both character growth and steeping up to protect her sisters. I loved her conversation with Miku and her terrifying the overbearing track team captain, bravo Nino!

My goodness, that final chapter really hit me in the feels. It was so good seeing the sisters really band together and make a decision about their future that was wholly their own. I know I haven't brought it up til now, but I imagine part of the reason why the girls act out is that they clearly don't get a lot of say in life decisions. And the final panel with their father, the massive bag of dicks that he is, proves this. So them coming together and making a life changing decision without their father's input is a massive step forward for them. On the topic of their father, I loved Futaro calling him out for being a shitty dad. You go, Futaro, tell him like it is!

After all that drama, it looks like the series will be going back to a more slice-of-life feel, which I'm totes okay with. I need a little cheery cuteness after that much drama.

When I come to the end of a volume of escapist puffery, sometimes I feel guilty. Shouldn’t I have been ready TRULY IMPORTANT books instead? Can I admit to the world that I’ve been so depressed this year that I’ve drowned myself in light novels and manga to lift me away from my troubles?

Then I remind myself that I do read TRULY IMPORTANT books. I just don’t burn through them as fast as the fun stuff.

A better question to ask myself is “What do I like about this series?” After all, this is volume six. There must be some reason I keep coming back.

Since this is a manga, certainly the illustrations have something to do with my interest. Negi Haruba has a clean, competent style. The character designs are pleasing to the eye, the individual characters stand out despite being quints, and he has a good command of facial expressions. There are mangaka whose work I admire more, but when reading sequential art, one main concern is whether the art moves the story along, and Haruba’s style does so admirably.

Where this story excells for me is in the blend of comedy, drama, character growth, and dialogue. Many mangaka can do two out of the four well, but not all four. When you combine this skill with his art’s light, comedic touches, this manga stands out above the rest.

Although this is at heart a harem manga, only one of the girls will be the revealed bride, not all of them. That is the series’ gimmick. Each sister has found a reason to like this klutzy guy. What is commendable is that Haruba’s writing makes it all believable. I have so far avoided spoilers since the series wrapped up in Japan last Winter, but it is my hope that all of the girls end up with their own happy ending.

But why should I care? They’re not real, right? This is where I find I am in awe of Haruba’s narrative skills. He has made me care. As I begin writing my own stories again soon, I hope I am able to create characters as real as he has done.

The ending of volume six felt a bit rushed, as if Haruba had run out of room. The narrative was uncharacteristically muddled. The art tried to show more than the dialogue supported, which is usually a good thing where sequential art stories are concerned, but one does want what one sees to make sense. I imagine a future flashback will add the context that Haruba either couldn’t or wasn’t allowed to squeeze into the cliffhanger ending.

All in all, however, this was an excellent volume in the series.

Overview

So this is the first volume to have the quints’ dad make an appearance. There’s definitely a lot more drama in this volume.

I’ll put them in alphabetical order, minus Itsuki since I didn't have anything to say about her.

Futaro

Ichika

“Only” getting 8 hours of sleep a night? Oh, I wish.

Miku

Gasp—I can’t believe she doesn’t like chocolate!

Nino

Yotsuba

The first half of this volume is almost impressively pointless and the second half slams you with much needed character development and plot progression. What a strange way to pace a story.

I really don't care about this Rena plotline. I'm not interested in this aspect of Futaro's backstory because it only exists to artificially add a "mystery girl" plot point to a story already hinging on a "mystery girl" gimmick. The whole plot hook of this manga is wondering which twin will be the eventual bride. We do not need a second mystery wondering which sister Futaro met as a child. It's meaningless and strikes me as filler disguised as drama bait.

Nino's melodrama of avoiding her family is also annoying purely because Nino as a character is terrible. This volume takes steps to explain and possibly justify her shown behavior, however it falls flat. Nino's personality has been too extreme and unpleasant to be tinged with sympathy just because she's insecure. I do not care. I do not forgive her. Her big step in the middle of the volume and promise to be better rings hollow until her improvement is consistently shown. Only time will tell.

Futaro himself is slightly confusing as a character but I do support him. His roasting of the usually unseen father character was epic and deserved. It made for a fairly satisfying ending that, if it were a show, would cap off a season. I enjoyed it.

But the good ending doesn't compensate for the rest of the volume.

Oh how I love this. Cuteness overload!

The only thing better than a busty, curvy, red-headed highschool girl is when she has FOUR identical sisters! They've declared their desire for Kotaro, they've proven they will do anything to keep him around. They even moved out of their father's house, after Kotaro told him off! Well, things are certainly getting interesting, to be sure. And now, Daddy is on the rampage! Looks like Kotaro pushed his buttons, and real good, too. I can't wait to see what happens next. Art, excellent. Dialogue, very real, very good. Characters, believable, likeable, relatable, & in the quint's places, totally adorable.

Sometimes I hate the release schedules between these books. I forget some details between releases (or when I can get to them) and it can affect how I feel about them. Fortunately for QQ vol 6 even though I had forgotten a few things that I was reminded of in this volume, it didn't put me off. I was glad to see some change and movement in the cast and since the library already has volume 7 I won't have to wait so long for that one.

Verdict: QQ is a light, fun read. Check it out.

I enjoyed this volume a lot more than the last couple! I really loved the 'the seven goodbyes' moment - it hit me in a way I didn't fully expect it to. I also love the tone of the girls figuring out who they are as their own people. I think it's a message that a lot of people can relate to - whether it be standing out from siblings or friends. Thoroughly enjoyed this volume and shall be back with my review of volume seven asap!

Probably my favorite volume of the series yet. Like I said, from its premise, the series might have a shallow plot, but for me, the way it was written and drawn really draw me more into this series. I love how all of them acknowledged that Futaro really helped them change and it was good seeing the quintuplets' characters develop further. Man, I cannot wait to see this volume get animated!!!!!

It was ok. I enjoyed to see Nino’s storyline of figuring out her individuality and learning that changes are something unavoidable of life. Yotsuba had an arc as well, not as interesting as Nino’s though. Apparently the story’s moving towards a cliche, which isn’t a bad thing, but I hope the author, henceforth, manages to develop the quintuplets equally.

This series is really taking off now. The developments and cliffhangers have me wanting to come back for more right away. It is nice seeing the quints start to mature and become their own individuals. The father being pulled into the story was a nice change of pace as well. Time to see what volume 7 has in store.

Nino sonunda Kintaro'nun kim olduğunu öğrendi. Geçmişte gördüğümüz Rena'yı tekrar görsek de kim olduğunu hala öğrenemedik. Önceki ciltte dağılan beşizleri Uesugi yeniden bir araya getirdi. Tam beşizler Uesugi'yi, Uesigi beşizleri sevmişken öğretmenliği bırakma kararı almasıyla hikayede yeni bir dram yaşanıyor. Seri kendi tonunu koruyarak devam ediyor.

nino with short hair.... she's seriously growing on me, yotsuba being her usual, amazing self-sacrificing, utterly cute and ridiculous self (my best girl in the series), miku being everyone's best girl, futarou leveling up in his character development. 2nd re-read and still entertaining asf.

I definitely didn’t read all of this in one day, on the day I got it.

My heart definitely doesn’t hurt.

(I love it)

I do wish I knew enough about Japanese test grading systems to understand how they worked, though. Also it’s kinda crazy it took six volumes for a real Nino arc to come about.

The series is moving away from the one dimensional nature of the early volumes and I’m all here for it. I just hope the protagonist gets some much needed development now. He’s coming across as just kind of a dick and I’d like him to be fleshed out more.
