Deceit Duet #2

What I Meant To Say

Rate this book
She walked away from us when she needed me most. I should have stopped her. I should have begged her to stay. But I didn’t. I let her believe I thought she was crazy.

But she came back. She accepted me just like I accept her. Every single part of her—even the parts she herself can’t accept.

Blake is terrified she can’t be the woman I need. She lives in constant fear of not being a good mother to our unborn child. Most of all, she is terrified of herself.

Her condition isn’t fixable. There is no cure. All I can do is love her with everything that I am and be there for her. I just pray it’s enough.

M. Piper lives in Southern Illinois with her family of 4. She is the only female in the house (if you don't count the poor dog) and enjoys reading and writing in her spare time. Let's face it, though, with two boys under the age of 5, there isn't much free time.

After the ending to the first book, I knew Piper would do something insane with this conclusion. But I did not expect this.

I was on the edge of my seat, waiting for that other shoe to drop--as is common in a Piper/Frost/Piper Frost book. So, after the twist in the first book, I was ready.

HAahahahahahahaha. Ready. That's so cute.

This is a great conclusion to What She Didn't Say and if you haven't read that then DO NOT READ THIS BOOK. You MUST read book one or this book will be a bunch of nonsense.

Blake and Taylor make me happy. They should make you happy too.

What I Meant To Say is a fantastic read. M. Piper left me in this gooey mess and I thank her for it. This is everything. I love Blake and Taylor together. Taylor is super supportive of Blake and that makes me love him even more then I did the first book. These two are just wonderful. The emotions you feel throughout this with Blake will leave you a bit raw and that is the best part. Blake may struggle a little here and there, but she is so strong. She is more then you ever imagine. Taylor and Blake are everything together. The Deceit Duet series is fabulous, I can't put down, why are you doing this to me, emotional rollercoaster, I hate you so much M. Piper, I love you so much M. Piper, hand me a tissue, I may just need a few days to myself type of read. You need to read this book, this series. I loved every minute of this one. And I hope that we get Damien's book because you can't just leave me hanging like that.

"She's soft. She's smooth. She's strong. She's everything I'm not."

I flew through this book like a knife through butter. After the bombshell ending in the first book, I expected pure carnage, but I was pleasantly surprised on where the Author took it. Super duper angsty and all kinds of unexpected happenings, but intertwined with love, acceptance, devotion, and forgiveness. It also brought to light issues that don't always pop up in books, and I loved that so hard! I inhaled this one and so recommend this duet!! I thank the Author for providing a copy to review!!

I absolutely love this book series. 2nd in the series this picks up after the last one left you hanging. Taylor thought he knew Blake but now he’s unsure of who he really knows. Can Blake explain everything and can Taylor trust him. This book is a page turner and a rollercoaster of emotions and strength. Great read

I have to say this was a great conclusion to book 1. You MUST read book 1 to fully understand the story of Blake and Taylor. Book 1 left us with a huge WTF cliffhanger wondering where the story would go from there, and I have to say, my mind took it so many different directions while I was waiting, but I think that this book went the direction that it should have. I loved the conclusion of Blake and Taylor's story, and while it wasn't smooth sailing and wasn't easy, it happened exactly as it should have. The way book one ended this book could have gone in a very different, messy, awful direction, and it was a great sweet surprise how it was all tied up. I really like Blake and Taylor and I rooted for them the entire time. Is there a book about Damien (and maybe Jess) in the future? Gosh I hope so! Another solid MUST READ by M. Piper!

Such an amazing conclusion to the Deceit Duet!! This is book 2 and you must read book 1, What She Didn't Say first or you will be lost on what is going on.

What I Meant To Say picks up right at the cliffhanger from the first book. Taylor just learned what Blake has been hiding about her past and that she's not the girl he thought he knew. He's not sure how to deal with everything. Blake runs but Taylor won't let her go.

I have never read a book with this condition in it before, but M. Piper handled it beautifully. Blake and Taylor's story is full of so much love, angst, devotion and acceptance. I loved that we got Blake's POV as well as Taylor's. It's a scary place in her head but it was told perfectly. A great end to this duet.

What I Meant To Say is the conclusion to Taylor and Blake's story from What She Didn't Say. At the end of book one, I wasn't sure how M. Piper was going to resolve all the issues in the story. The problems between the main characters seemed to big to overcome. I am amazed at how the author handled the situations. She tied everything together and brought the story to a very satisfying conclusion. There were revelations that made my heart hurt for the characters. There were moments that were filled with fear and hopelessness. There were also moments that were so tender my heart filled to the brim! I absolutely loved this book from M. Piper!

This is actually the second book in the Deceit Duet.

I am so excited that the love of Taylor and Blake make it through the rough patches! From the secrets to the half truths, you dont ever fully know someone if they dont tell you the important things about themselves.

Taylor and Blake were ment to be. The love that Taylor has for Blake ever after he founds out her secrets is one that im sure we will all envy. And of course the emotions that Blake is going through is only fair and understand.

Amazing read by this the Author! Can not wait to read more of this couple!

The conclusion of The Deceit Duet was perfect. It was so much more than I expected and I loved every minute of it. Blake and Taylor’s love is something that seems once in a lifetime. After the first book ended, I wasn’t sure where Mal was going to take us, but I was along for the ride, and I am very glad that I was. So many things happen in this second book, but I don’t want to ruin it for anyone, so I will just say this…READ IT! I hope to see these two again in maybe Damien’s book? Hint hint M. Piper!

What I Meant To Say is Book two of this amazingly heartbreaking duet. It deals with serious struggles and is not always easy to read but this author has a way of ripping you apart and slowly putting you back together and I just can’t get enough. This is not a standalone so you will have to read book 1 first but it is worth it completely! The characters are remarkable and the writing is on point!

Blake and Taylor left us with a crazy cliffhanger in the first book and this one picks up right where it left off, so we star this book with revelations, heartbreak, questions and a pain that sits in your chest. You will watch them try to pick up all the broken pieces while dealing with more hard truths. You will be able to feel the hope building and will finally sigh with relief.

Grab your copy now and prepare to get lost in another world for a bit. I highly recommend this book and suggest getting it sooner rather than later.

Well, I was simply gutted, broken and a complete mess. This story was absolutely beautiful.

We pickup from Taylor learning the "truth" about Blake and her little surprise. Both are devastated, both run in their own way.

The underlying subject matter is so beautifully told. We almost get inside Blake's mind and Taylor's heart.

Watching these two maneuver this rocky journey is heart pounding.

A MUST READ...ENOUGH SAID!

The struggle is real with this one!! So many real life emotions in this book. I love how strong Blake is. She’s not just some damsel in distress waiting on Prince Charming to show up. It’s awesome how Taylor doesn’t back down when he finally learns the truth about everything. This is definitely not your typical romance storyline so be ready for some twists but it’s still just as hot as you’d expect from a M. Piper book! It’s definitely going to get you wound up!

An Ending worth reading!

Blake and Taylor’s ending was worth the wait. Their relationship continues as he learns her secret which has an emotional impact for both. The author is able to bring forth a sensitive issue in a beautiful story filled with hope, strength and love. Will they be able to shed the pain and move forward to fight for their HEA. One click to find out in this newest release that doesn’t disappoint.

Thank goodness no cliffhanger, book one had me in MAJOR book hangover status!!

I am so happy with this duet, and these main characters. I loved the ending, and that the happily ever after didnt include a lawsuit from Taylor's mom, not gonna lie was dreading that for majority of the book after the Mexican restaraunt. 👌🏻
Very excited for Damiens story!

This was the exact ending that I was hoping for!!! Blake has had a tough go of things and Taylor has his own problems. The twist at the end of book one threw me, but its come full circle in this one. Thrilled with wrap of this story and excited about the next book...Damien here we come!! I knew there was something about Jess! Ha!

Wonderfully Written

This is a very well written duet that deals with the sensitive subject of mental illness. I adored Blake and Taylor very much. I especially loved how Taylor had Blake's back no matter what. This duet showcased the beauty of what love should be. The story, characters, and dialogue were amazing.

Wow!! What a conclusion to the roller coaster of emotions and turmoil between Blake and Taylor! Their story deals with some extremely difficult and sensitive issues and is handled great. So close to 5 stars, but I think Part 1 is a bit stronger of a read

Omg this book was absolutely so good. I found myself hurting for Taylor and her mental illness and I found myself wanting more for her and her to have someone who would stick with her and not be scared of her and Blake stepped up. Great book.

This was a great ending to Taylor and Blake’s story. The ending of the first book was a major cliffhanger, so I was glad to finally get the end to their story. I’d recommend this book.

After being left with on the cliff's edge with book 1, this one defintely delivers. Mental health & illness has an ugly stigma in our country & this book illustrates that with Blake. People who suffer need support & love & understanding from family & loved ones. She beautifully illustrates how Taylor learns to support Blake. Love can be a powerful tool in overcoming what seems impossible. Mental illness doesn't mean the end..it's just a curve ball thrown by life. How you catch or hit the ball thrown at you or your loved one determines the next play.
