This is EXACTLY how I felt when I was a teenager and was discovering Wicca for the first time. See, family were devout Catholics, and so was I. I never actually questioned my faith until my father died at age seventeen. He passed away suddenly and I felt lost, troubled and though my faith wasn't answering my existential questions. It was then that I felt compelled to explore something new, and I stumbled across WICCA. Although I felt like a sinner and like I was betraying my faith, I continued to learn and study Wiccan beliefs and traditions until one day I felt completely comfortable with switching faiths. I knew that I had discovered a path that was right for me. However, I was NOT ready to come out to my friends and family and so I lived as a Wiccan in secret for many years. When I finally did come out as Wiccan, I made mistakes. I lost friends in the process until I learned a better way to tell everyone about my newfound faith. I wrote this book so you don't have to make the mistakes I did! This book is everything I needed to know to transition from Christianity to Wicca. This book will teach -All the basic Wiccan beliefs, practices and traditions -My childhood experiences that helped me know that I was a witch. -How to tell if you're a witch -How I managed to live as a Wiccan in secret without telling my family and friends -The mistakes I made when coming out -A step by step guide for how you can come out of the broom closet in the best way possible -The benefits of taking your life back and living for yourself (rather than your faith). This book is different Although this book covers all the basic Wiccan beliefs and everything you need to know about becoming Wiccan, it's much more than that. It takes you through my journey so that you can learn that following this path is not sinful and you shouldn't feel guilty about it. There are many who have taken this path before you, you simply need a little guidance along the way. Grab your copy today!
In the last year I've become very interested in learning about other religions and belief systems and Wicca is one that I'm most interested in, partly because I feel that ignorance has fueled the negative social stigma associated with Wicca and that makes me want to increase my knowledge and partly because I think that the emphasis on nature and notions of "goodwill to all" is really in line with my own spiritual path. In this book, Blacksmith focuses on choosing Wicca as a religion rather than learning Wicca as a craft, which is a different approach than most of the books I've read on the subject. She also draws a lot of parallels and contrasts between Wicca and the religion she was raised on (Catholicism). I feel that she provides some good insight into the challenges in transitioning from any one religion to any other religion. I also like that she recommends studying Wicca as a religion for "a year and a day" before making any decisions about whether or not to follow the Wiccan path.
I really enjoyed the book it was really good. However, I don't understand why a person would abandon one faith for another. I see the benefits of both. I have 366 days to figure out things 🙌😂🙏😍😂😂😂😂👏👏👏. Really straight forward not scary.
Very insightful. Reading this book now it easier for me to decide to think about becoming a Wiccan. I love things magical and the beliefs are far better than what I've been taught my entire life. Live and let live. Blessed be.
It was an easy read, and answered my questions and helped me see which way to go from there. I would recommend it, if you are looking into spiritual paths.
