“Urban erotica has never been hotter!”
–Nikki Turner, author of Black Widow

Have you ever been betrayed by those you love? Violated in the worst kind of way? And no matter how hard you tried to fight your way out of a trick bag, no matter how tall you tried to walk, did the cold streets of life lead you right back to your grimy destiny?

The bestselling author of G-Spot and Candy Licker , Noire pens the intense tale of Eva Patterson, a tragic daughter of the ghetto who finds peril on the streets of New York. With an abusive mother and a heroin monkey on her back, Eva experiences a series of traumatizing events, forcing her to flee her Brooklyn tenement and seek refuge with her beloved cousin Fiyah in Harlem.

But fate is not done wreaking havoc in Eva’s life yet. Poised on the brink of progress, Eva meets King Brody, a vicious Harlem drug lord who runs Bricks, the hottest rap club in town. Unbeknownst to Eva, her cousin Fiyah’s thirst for glory leads him to cut a killer deal with Brody. A trade-off is Fiyah gets a recording contract–and Brody gets Eva.

The problem is, Eva already has a Ice Mello Williams, a hot Harlem rapper who has a bitter feud going with Fiyah and is determined to seize his recording contract.

Torn between the man she loves and a violent kingpin, Eva becomes an unwilling pawn in a deadly game of cat and mouse. Can Fiyah and Mello help her elude the sadistic jaws of Brody, or will she end up losing her life in his brutal trap?

I downloaded the audiobook from my library to listen to. It was just sad all around. I felt so bad for Eva - she was such a strong woman even though she endured so much. I was not expecting what happened at the end. Brody definitely was an evil guy.

2.5 rounded up
Intense characters, nice pace to story, but too much rape and sexual cruelty for me.
Did not see that ending coming.

Extremely gritty novel about Evita, better known as Eva. Her life story is one of the worse case scenarios one can imagine. ..and then it gets worse thanks to her cousin Fiyah who decides to make a deal with the devil aka King Brody instead of standing up like a man. He doesn't even know he's selfish because growing up there was no one to teach him with the exception of Eva's dad. Although he blamed Eva for getting him knocked to begin with, it was actually he who made the decision to take the weapon from Eva to begin with. The brutality Brody imposed on the females he encounters is never explained. Deep read with only .5 deducted due to the shameless plugs scattered throughout, lol. Recommend.

Another great book by Noire, I love the way she writes her books, it's grimmey and ruthless, anything short of girly. This book was sad but understanding, goes to show how selfish people can and will hurt anyone to please themselves even if it means hurting their own blood w

Wow! This was a different kind of Noire book. I won't spoil it for those who haven't read it, but let me just say the ending is a shocker.

The plot was good. However, I kept getting lost with the characters. I could picture Brody nasty ass as one of these Jack boys from the hood.

Horrible read. Urban erotica has been my fav since 14. I have read fron all authors. However this storyline is disgusting. The storyline wraps to much into the details rather than moving along the story. Also everything about atory line is disgusting as a grown women i dont want to read in detail about a 14 year old having sex with her moms boyfriend while her mom watches and holds her down to be drugged. In current time the main charcter eva is only 18 but its details acts as if she's grown. Some things in the story are to far fetched. Like a 14 year old being hooked on drugs and still loving a mother who abused her beyond recognition. Im halfway through the book and its not keeping my attention at all. I like grimy and hood books but the sexual acts of teenagers and grown men is purly disgusting. Kind of like precious the book ? A real decent human unless u are a child preditor would enjoy these detailed sex scenes. Noire has totally lost me with this one i will not be reading anything from her in the future. The book is lagging the big pixture and is all over the place. Im skipping through a few sex scense obly because its wayyyyy to much. Its fine to throw. Little in here and thers but i dont want to keep hearing how a battered 18 year old is now feeling good between the legs in detail!!!!!! Trying to finsh up the book so i wouldnt feel like my time is wasted but im soooooo dissopoitned in this book. Anybody who finds it to be great has never read a real good narrative by a great writer. Want a great read that will keep you up at night ready any of CARL WEBER AND U WONT BE DISSAPOINTED! Every book and every page and word keeps you introuged.

Too much cussing not enough sex for my taste....if the author had substituted the cuss words for actual screwing.. this book would be hot. Gave it a two because a one is like tipping someone a penny. I really dislike any author or publisher who slaps the word EROTIC on books to pull in readers who are seeking outright SEX. That is what erotica is. This book was on my tbr for years. Glad I got this crap off my tbr...it was painful to read.

This book was good. I hate to see or hear about parents not protecting their kids. It’s disgusting. I was glad that Eva overcame that but it’s said to see family throw you under the bus or drag you into mess. Overall the book was pretty good. It was short and straight to the point.

Nice

I came in with the perception that this would be a typical street lit but Noire surpassed my expectations. The only thing I wish was that I read this a long time ago when I was debating about it in the past, but I love this book and would recommend it

There is just as much, if not more, killing and raping as there is erotica. Just not my thing I guess.

I love almost all of the books I’ve read by noire.
She writes thing’s that truly happen every day.
Hittin the bricks is my favorite book because it’s based on family and friends love and war.
Gangsta shit goes down at The club they called bricks, hearts get broken people are lost and never found, graphic sex scenes which is important in all urban erotic tales. There was some thing ridiculously real about this book and I loved it.
If you’re not into sex, Guns, violence, friendships torn apart and Things like that I wouldn’t recommend this book for you. But if you’re like me who really gets into a story where you can literally see in your head everything that is going down I highly suggest you check out noires hittin the bricks.

This book had me thinking about it long after I read it.

Powerfully moving, intensely dramatic & definitely heart rending.

Family is supposed to love and take care of you when the world abuses you. Unfortunately, Eva's family abuses her and turns her out...that just two of the dirty dog things they do. But, she has mad love for her family and friends (blind love). Her blessing comes when she meets her lover and dream man. For a time, they share a great bond. A real bond. A bond her life had been missing.Every thing appears to be coming together for Eva. Stupidly, her family comes trotting back from the dead to wreak havoc. The rest is a slow slide down a steep and painful hill.

I loved this book! It is one I would recommend and consider a great read.

All I can say is 'WOW'

I am still in the mental/emotional grips of this book even though I've started another read.

2 thumbs up and a snap, snap, snap!

Noire shocked me with this book. It was very different from my other favorites by her(Candy Licker, G-Spot).

This book had a great deal of lust and erotica but it also had pain, suffering, love and redemption.

The Characters that stood out to me were:

Eva- She deserved so much more, but even the outcome of the story did not leave me empty, because too much had happened for the story to end any other way.

Fiyah- He was a kid that had to deal with adult issues to soon. I do feel he was wrongly blamed for too much of the tragic circumstances. He did not choose the hand that was dealt for Eva and himself.

King Brody- He branded his pain on too many people. He was of course the least liked person of the book.
