Hannah Shephard likes her life, her job, and her perfectly cozy apartment around the corner from her shop. She’s never been one to take big risks and would much rather stay in on a Friday night with a warm cup of decaf and her favorite mystery novel, so why do her friends insist she needs more? Plus, Hannah has bigger problems to focus on. She’s in trouble. Well, her books ...more

**'Sometimes a few sentence can be enough to fill any reader's imagination completely. And sometimes a book's title is enough..Composition is a discipline, it forces us as readers to think or imagine..'

'BACK TO SEPTEMBER' can best be described as a gorgeously rendered, risk filled narration of a friendship turning to a relationship threatened to be derail by fear, guilt and long distance that

4.50 Stars. This was Brayden in all her usual brilliance. Brayden is the queen of lesfic romance and I’m not overstating when I say that. This was everything I was hoping for. It’s so nice to read authors like Brayden where you expect a great book and she almost always delivers. I absolutely recommend this one to romance fans.

This is a story about Hannah who owns a small bookstore. The store is struggling to stay afloat so Hannah takes a chance on getting a popular romance author, na

Melissa Brayden is good for your heart!!
The storytelling was brilliant, amazing dialogue, and incredible writing style! This is a very solid book as expected from the author :)
What I liked most about this specific book is the characters! Parker was just sexy, kick ass and obviously brilliant at what she does. But then she really didn’t do Hannah well and normally I should’ve been very pissed off at her, but the brilliance of the author made me “feel her”.. I could understand why she did w

There’s been a lot of internal screaming while I was reading this book. And ache. Because it’s so good. Melissa Brayden is an automatic read for me at this point, and I didn’t even glance at the blurb before opening her latest book. So it came as a very good surprise that, as a romance writer, she created a character who is some sort of a book snob and won’t showcase a book in her bookstore because it’s a romance novel. « I’d read a handful in my teens and enjoyed them well enough, that is, unti ...more

You can't go wrong with a Melissa Brayden romance. Seriously, you can't. Buy all of her books.

Hannah is a semi book snobbish owner of a book store. She prefers the classics to romance novels. An employee convinces her to showcase a romantic new release and try to get the author to visit on a book tour to drum up a bit of publicity for the shop. Since it hasn't been fairing well financially.

Parker is a celebrity romance author as a result of her sharp wit and social media commentary.

Whenever you pick up a Melissa Brayden book you know are picking up a quality romance with lovable characters and a good story line. Back to September is no different. It's filled with angst created only by the main characters which is nice because most of the time drama/angst is created from outside sources (if that makes sense). I'll be honest, this one took me until the introduction of Parker to real get into but once I did, I almost couldn't put it down. Brayden does a great job with dialogu ...more
Can we all take a second to jump up and down that Melissa Brayden has a new book out? You can stay seated but know, I jumped up and down with excitement and glee. The books Brayden writes just bring me so much happiness and joy. I live for her stories, her amazing characters, and their witty dialogue. Back to September does not let me down. What a wonderful book!

Oh My God! This has to be one of the best contemporary romance novels I’ve read in quite a while. Melissa Brayden has outdone herself with Back to September, and that is saying something since she is such an outstanding contemporary romance author.

Ms. Brayden tells this story through the eyes of Hannah Shephard using first person POV. Hannah is the owner of a small bookstore in Providence, Rhode Island called A Likely Story. The business is struggling to stay afloat, and Hannah decid

Melissa Brayden has created another interesting storyline with characters to match. Her dialogue, as usual, was witty and emotional, and always engaging.

This story was told from Hannah’s perspective, the owner of a small town bookstore that was struggling to survive… until the famous romance novelist Parker Bristow agreed to do a book signing at her store and provided that much needed spark for the bookstore…and its owner. The women soon found themselves enjoying a night of fun and pleasure wit

Oh, it has everything! It's funny, it's emotional, it's warm, it literally makes you fall in love with every single character in it! Melissa Brayden is a mastermind of romance genre! There are a lot of excellent writers of this genre, but what makes a difference between and excellent one and an outstanding one is a minor characters' development. Melissa has it to perfection in every single book of hers! You can't just go through them without actually warming up to them significantly and almost k ...more

An ARC was provided by NetGalley in exchange for a honest review.

Melissa Brayden is one of my favorite authors so you can imagine my excitement every time she has a new book out. This one was no exception, I had to read it all in one night, I couldn't put it down.

Hannah Shephard is an owner of a book store in Providence who's facing financial problems due to the low traffic. She considers herself an ordinary woman who actually prefers to be alone than settle in a relation
I went into this book with a bit of guilt, strangely enough. I'd scored big time by getting an ARC midway into October, but then life just knocked me over and I didn't want that kind of stress affecting my reading experience. So, here I am in November, finally finished and I'm glad I'd waited.

This, this right here, is a very lovely book. It gave me the feels, which is exactly what Melissa Brayden was put on this planet to do for us wlw readers. And I'll be honest: I really avoid first-pers

Hannah is a book store owner who prefers to spend her free time in her apartment with her cats Bacon and Tomato. She has no need for romance in spite of what her friends and family say. What she does need is a way to bring more customers into her shop. One of her employees stresses the need to put romance novels in the window and while she’s at it, she should go ahead and see if she can get in on a book tour. Hanna thinks romances are a waste of space but they do se

I devoured this book in one night. It was so funny and sweet and sexy and dreamy!

Hannah's little bookstore is in trouble. If she doesn't get an uptake in business or an infusion of cash soon, she's afraid the store will go under. While she's not a fan of romance, she has to admit it sells well, so she takes a chance on inviting a bestselling romance author Parker to do a signing at her store. She doesn't expect her to say yes, and doesn't expect to be spending an evening eating burgers with the

I have to be honest, no author makes me extra giddy more than Melissa Brayden. I have a number of faves but Brayden is in the category of “who-cares-about-the-dishes—read-now”.
Anyone can come up with a good story yet not all can write an engaging plot like Brayden does. She knows the cheat code of romance writing. She’s memorized it and can use it blind folded. Back to September is just another reason why she’s at the top. The characters, the setting, the dialogue, the tone, as expected, had be

It’s difficult to find new ground in the romance genre, but Back to September definitely breaks that stigma. What begins as a sappy insta-love suddenly skids and forces both women to face adversity where words and actions collide and then shatter under pressure. As heartbreak and distrust tidal wave in the aftermath, secondary characters manage to toss out a life buoy where words like perspective and even forgiveness are contemplated in the calm after the storm. Melissa Brayden has such a wonderful writing style. I really enjoy her way of writing in the first person to tell a story. Back to September is brilliant in the way the characters get together and battle different obstacles in their way to finally being together. Hannah owns a small-town bookstore in Providence. She isn't really into romance novels or romance at all for that matter, that is until one of her employees pushes her to feature Parker Bristow's newest release in the store window. Furt ...more

I always look forward to Brayden's new books and I can safely say this one was just brilliant. So many emotions that I walked away from when finishing this book. I was so hooked I read well into the night which I almost never do, I just simply couldn't put the book down until it was finished.

Brayden has an exceptional talent for writing lovable and sweet characters who have normal human faults and fears, this making them realistic for me. The connection between the two was so believable that I

As I sit here thinking about how to exactly explain how much I loved Back to September, all I can do is SMH. Yes, by the end of the first chapter, I was captivated. I knew this was going to be a 5 star Melissa Brayden book. I am going to attempt to express how I can't wait to read this one again.

It’s safe to say I’m a Melissa Brayden fan. She’s a talented writer that writes great characters, fantastic dialogue and breaks your heart a little before putting it back together. I’ve never been disappointed and several of her titles are favorites and revisits for me.....Back to September will definitely be added to the list.

The story follows the relationship of two very different characters, from two very different worlds, who pull each other into their orbits as they go through v

This was a sweet romance story.

Hannah is a owner of a bookstore that is struggling. She loves books and pairing them to their rightful owner.

When her co-workers suggest she do a book signing to boost sales she books Parker who is a famous writer. Hannah never read any of her books but when she does she hook on how Parker can do romance and heartbreak at the sametime on her books and still give a happy ending.

When Parker accept her request for a book signing at

This was the third book I was refused access to by Bold Stroke Books on NetGalley because I gave a bad, but constructive, review to one of their other books. The publisher hasn't accepted any of my book requests since then, though I've been reviewing their books for many years. It's clear from their actions that they're not after an honest review. However, I'm not interested in free copies, only in reading good books and supporting good authors, so I'm going to do a proper, unbiased review of this book ...more

Thank you to NetGalley and Bold Strokes Books for the digital ARC! All my opinions are my own.

"Back to September" stars Hannah Shephard, who likes her life just how it is. She's got her apartment, her cats, and her bookshop, A Likely Story, just around the corner from her home. She would rather stay in for the evening than go out, and she doesn't see anything wrong with that. She's busy focusing on her store, which is in financial trouble, and requests the world-famous romance nove

Ok... I’m going to be the outlier here, because a quick glance at the reviews shows me that people loved this.... and I did not. In fact, it was almost a DNF, and I never thought I’d say that about a Brayden book.

This was my final ARC from last month, I usually leave Brayden’s books til last since she can be counted on for a sweet, lovely romance. This was, well, not quite that. I can’t say why I didn’t like this book without majorly

Okay, so I absolutely adored Beautiful Dreamer and was stoked to read Ms Brayden's newest book.   I was expecting a wonderfully sweet and endearing slow burn romance with engaging characters, witty banter, small town shenanigans, Henley shirts - hell I was expecting  sunshine and unicorns.  What I got was ...angst.  Gloriously heart-wrenching angst.  The highs were euphoric and the lows were devastating.  At points I had to put the book down and take a calming breath as the story unfolded.

I was already a fan of Melissa Brayden's writing, so I pretty much knew going in that this was going to be a hit for me. It can be a tough job trying to find a good f/f romance without having to compromise on the actual quality of the writin

First thing, I just want to say thank you, thank you, Melissa, for taking some steps away from writing series. I'll admit that when the SoHo Loft trilogy first came out I was in love with the idea. Kiss the Girl was fantastic. I didn't love the second one so much, but was absolutely looking forward to the third. But it was so-so too. I didn't get past the first book with Seven Shores. Honestly, I thought Melissa and I had broken up. :( But then Beautiful Dreamer happened, and now Back to Septemb ...more

I've recently become a big fan of Melissa Brayden's books, although, I must say, I didn't catch the Brayden bug until much later. Yeh, until I read her last book, "Beautiful Dreamer," which sealed the deal for me. My all-time favourite Brayden book yet. Something to be said about one's first, eh? Anyway, since then, I'd raced through her entire catalogue and got all caught up. So, when her latest outing, "Back to September," was released, I had to explore it, obviously.
