Noah is a vampire soldier bent on revenge and Vengeance since losing his brother to an enemy. Now he is in an anger management group upon learning about a lead. Then he meets up with Abby who is in anger management that is court appointed. Abby was married to to an abusive man for several years and got away and divorced him. But he is still after her and says she is still his wife and he is friends with the judge and sheriff, which makes it even more complicated for her. But the chemistry between Noah and Abby is hot. There are also a few other characters that are vampires and demons which make this story fun. Noah also has a new mark on his hand which lets him know he has met his mate and vampires mate for life. What will Abby think when she finds out he is a vampire? This was a novella so it was a short book to read.

Just like with anthologies, novellas are a great way to get to know a new author or catch up with a beloved series. In this case we get to meet Abby and vampire/demon hybrid Noah whose attraction to Abby is indisputable. Their chemistry is palpable from the moment they meet and Noah’s fierce, alpha male protective instincts kick in the moment he realizes she’s in trouble.
Abby has no idea of the paranormal world she lives in, which gives their story an interesting and amusing twist when she eventually finds out. Even though their romance is fast, their connection runs deep and it was sweet and truly enjoyable watching these two figure it out all while dealing with Abby’s past and Noah’s mission.

4 1/2 "Sometimes a girl needs a hero." Stars!
This was just almost a perfect novella. I absolutely love this series and Noah was practically a perfect Dark Protector and Abigailwas a good heroine. The thing that kept this from being a 5 star read for me was

So I liked Noah and Abby. But the story had too many characters for a novella. There was a lot going on. I enjoyed the story, it just wasn't one of the best in the series. It might be a 3.5, but not worth rounding up.

Let me start off my saying that Rebecca is one of my favorite authors as I love everything she writes and The Dark Protectors is a series that I re-read all the time.I love all the characters associated with this series.
This author has done it yet again this was one funny read.Omg ! we loved this Novella and its character's and I have to say that Ivar made this book down right hilarious!
We loved Abby and Noah as they really made the perfect couple who had amazing chemistry but , also had a great friendship that turned into so much more.For Noah it was pretty much love at first sight and for Abby lust and first sight but, honestly she could not help but fall for the big arrogant lug right from the start too.
We loved the plot where a bunch of immortal vampires & demons are forced to go to mandatory couseling for anger management.Well let's just say those sessions where down right hilarious but, it was also where Noah was destined to meet his mate who's life is riddled with nothing drama and chaos just like his.lol The perfect mate for an immortal full of hate and Hell bent on Vengeance "you think ?" lol
Overall we loved the story from beginning to end it was fun and engaging had drama,suspense a touching romance even liked that fact that a bunch of Immortals who hate each other are forced to work as a team oh, yeah fun times that had us laughing out loud with their bickering jabs antics with one another throughout the entire story .We loved it and would love to see Ivar get his own story or see more of him because his honesty and plain speaking made him funny as he**!
Well done and goes into the keeper pile to be read over and over again when we need tons of laughs.

This is such a great read. It’s a novella that links in with the Dark Protectors series (specifically with the new story arc that began in book #8), and the beginning of a new spin-off series – Rebels. It’s funny and dramatic with great action and a gorgeous love story, and I loved it!
Vampire/demon hybrid Noah is on a mission of vengeance to destroy the vampire who killed his brother. His hunt brings him to a small town and an anger management group (of all things) as he tracks down his final leads.
Abby is in anger management after being falsely accused of attacking her ex husband – an abusive, lying, manipulative a-hole. She is biding her time and towing the line until she can get the hell away from him and their small town and start fresh.
There are sparks between Noah and Abby from the moment they meet, and when Abby finds herself in trouble, it’s Noah that comes to her rescue, cementing their attraction and setting off a wild chain of events that had me gleefully glued to my kindle.
Holy hell, Noah is one hot hybrid! He’s an alpha through and through, and the sexy time is sizzling! Abby is a human who has no idea about the supernatural world which brings a fantastically fun element to the story when that all comes out. But despite their differences, there is something deeper between them and I loved watching them figure it all out. And Noah’s caring, possessive, protectiveness of her is just gorgeous.
There is action and excitement as their fledgling romance is impacted by Noah’s mission and Abby’s past, but it all combines wonderfully to bring a fast-paced, exciting, fun, sexy and romantic ride, and I loved watching it all play out.
We get to see Ivar from the Dark Protectors series, and are introduced to some fantastic new supernatural characters that I hope we’ll get to see again.
My only complaint with this novella is the ending. It’s really abrupt and just sort of…. ends. Of course, I wanted more of their story, but I actually found myself flicking back and forth wondering if I had missed something when because it felt a bit unsatisfying, honestly. But I’m hoping that we get to see more of these characters in future books, and I can’t wait for more from this series.

I loved this novella! Noah and Abby were perfect for each other and their story was a great mix of danger and suspense with a romantic love story that steamed up the pages. En vacances sur l'île d'Oléron, j'ai lu le dernier livre de Rebecca Zanetti (Vixen) avant de me lancer dans une relecture de tous les livres de Rebecca Zanetti que j'avais adoré ... Et j'ai réalisé qu'il y avait plein de livres dans l'univers des Dark Protectors que je n'avais pas lu !! Et notamment des personnages secondaires de Vixen !!
Bien que cette nouvelle soit courte (oui moins de 200 pages c'est court xD), j'ai adoré l'histoire de Noah et Abby : l'histoire avec le groupe de gestion de la colère avec tous ces immortels qui ont tous leur propre agenda m'a beaucoup fait rire et j'ai adoré l'histoire avec l'ex d'Abby et sa relation avec Noah (j'ai adoré quand elle a découvert tout l'univers avec les vampires etc)
Bref, une romance légère et amusante à dévorer sans modération (comme le reste de la série =D)

And I realized that there were plenty of books in the Dark Protector universe that I hadn't read !! And in particular secondary characters from Vixen !!
Although this short-story is short (yes less than 200 pages is short xD) I loved the story of Noah and Abby : the plot with the anger management group with all these immortals who all have their own agenda made me laugh a lot and I loved the story with Abby's ex and her relationship with Noah (I loved when she discovered the whole universe with vampires etc)
In short, a light and fun romance to devour without moderation (like the rest of the series =D)

Vengeance served straight up smokin'!!!
Ohhhhhhhh, wow! I think this is my new favourite Dark Protectors novella! Seriously, with a killer plot, a fast pace, smoldering attraction, danger, thrilling action, and surprising amounts of humour, this book ticks every single box and delivers more besides!
The characters and circumstances were unique, rife with unpredictability and a charming chaos that just plain worked. I laughed myself silly at the most unexpected of times and thoroughly enjoyed every single word I read. The pages were on fire in the best sorts of ways!! I see myself rereading this engaging tale many, maaaany times and quite look forward to more!!!!

LOOOOOOOOOOVED THIS SO EFFING HARD! I fell good and hard and fast with this sexy and swoon worthy novella in the Dark Protectors/Rebels series. I did not want this story to end that is for sure. It was fun and sweet and crackling with delicious sexual tension and the characters made my heart feel so light and happy. The story was brimming with heat and action and flowed beautifully. Can't get enough of these books and I am already craving more!

Disclaimer: I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book. All opinions stated are solely mine.The appeal of this series is never-ending, and every installment just makes me hungrier for more. I for one, am very glad that the author has kept it going and spun off several series from it, and I will keep reading them for as long as she keeps writing them. I wish the story had been a little longer, but part of the fun is trying to connect the dots and characters with the past stories. Abby Miller is in a lot trouble, with no help in sight. Forced to plea bargain and attend anger management classes to avoid jail time and finding herself under the thumb of a controlling ex-husband in cahoots with the town sheriff and judge, she has no recourse available. Until she meets Noah.Noah is consumed by a need for revenge against the man who killed his brother, but an owed debt lands him in anger management classes. One look at Abby and vengeance takes a back seat to the need to protect her. Now Abby has Noah and every resource available to him behind her and life isn't looking so bleak anymore. In return, she's about to enter a world beyond her wildest imagination. Noah is about to get more than he bargained for in Abby as she finds her inner strength and goes head-to- head with him, but it's all worth it in the end.Filled with the usual drama and action I have come to expect from Ms. Zanetti, VENGEANCE is another enjoyable installmet in the Dark Protectors series and I'm really looking forward to Ivar and Raine's stories.

In Anger Management, Noah meets Abby. Abby, dear sweet Abby. Recently divorced from a jerk of a husband, has been put through the ringer and life has not been easy for her. She's in Anger Management because of her ex, but there's more to the story. Not to mention, her ex isn't exactly ready to let her go.
Noah and Abby were a fantastic couple. Strong alpha protector finds a woman that needs protection, but he's not allowed to protect her...oh the pickle he is in. An alpha's go-to solution to problems like these is to eliminate the problem...what will Noah do when elimination isn't the answer in the human world.
I loved the surprise visit from other books, the secondary characters, the world building, story, suspense, and the chemistry between Noah and Abby. Actually, I just loved EVERYTHING! I loved everything about this book. If you have never read Rebecca Zanetti, you could easily pick this up and not feel lost and get a taste for her awesomeness. If you are a fan, what are you waiting for? This gets all my recommendations and now I have to wait for Vampire to come out to get more of these fantastic characters! A must-read book by a must-read author!

I loved the surprise visit from other books, the secondary characters, the world building, story, suspense, and the chemistry between Noah and Abby. Actually, I just loved EVERYTHING! I loved everything about this book. If you have never read Rebecca Zanetti, you could easily pick this up and not feel lost and get a taste for her awesomeness. If you are a fan, what are you waiting for? This gets all my recommendations and now I have to wait for Vampire to come out to get more of these fantastic characters! A must-read book by a must-read author!

Vengeance is a short story set in the Dark Protectors/Rebels universe by Rebecca Zanetti. It can read as stand-alone, but after finishing this I have so many questions and I have fallen in love with so many people that I just wanna go and read the rest of the series. The questions I have are about the secondary characters we met and their missions, so don't worry about not getting into the story or feeling left out. Everything we needed to know was explained.
The book might be 167 pages long, but it was a very fulfilling read and well written. It had the right dose of romance and suspense. We also got glimpses of other main characters are we got information about the lore which was great. I didn't felt as if I was entering a completely unknown and strange world. I felt like I have been reading the series for a while.
Noah is an alpha male through and through and you should expect him to act like one. I liked that side of him. Who am I kidding? I liked Noah period. Both, he and Abby, we great characters and I liked them. When we first meet Abby, she is dealing with an abusive ex who happens to be friends with some powerful men and they forced her to attend anger management sessions. Noah is also there for a mission and the rest is left for you to find out. I am only going to say, that I enjoyed the book a lot and I would definitely recommend it.

I love these little side tracks the author takes us on in the world of the Dark Protectors. It looks like this is the first of 3 novella's in the 1001 Dark Nights centered on some loose relations to the characters we have grown to love in the Dark Protectors series.
The whole premise of this one was just perfect. Anger management class?? For a messed up Viking and his baby sitter??/ What better place to meet a potential mate--right?? This is short and dirty. Lots of action. Bad guys, worse guys and our hero trying to protect Abby from them all. Crash course on the paranormal creatures she didn't know were out there and Abby has her head spinning. One thing holding true is her attraction to Noah. One thing that is true for Noah is his need to be there for Abby.
Loved it all. So happy to read anything in this book world by this author. Can't wait for more!

Entertaining as hell! I loved it! It had a little bit of everything action, adventure, suspense, romance and humor. This was the first book I’ve read from the series but it certainly won’t be the last!

Vengeance is a short edition of the Dark Protectors series. You'll meet Noah and Abby - he's a vampire; she's human. There's a lot going on in this short book. You'll have to pay attention to all the nuances if you're a Dark Protectors reader you'll see many of this coming.
The ending of this book will leaving you wanting more. I'm really looking forward to the next edition in this series so hopefully it will continue where this one left off. I have a feeling Ms. Zanetti won't leave us hanging about these two for long.

Quite good. I was distracted, so wasn’t as absorbed by the plot as I would expect to be. I haven’t read the entire Dark Protectors series, but know enough of the story to follow along. I liked Noah. The heroine, Abby, was good too, once she found her backbone - not that I blame her for losing it, her ex-husband is the tool of all tools. I also liked Ivar - I think he is going to get his own book.

A quick and easy to read novella about some other characters in the DP world. A little prologue to Ivar's story in Alpha's Promise. I'm a die-hard Zanetti fan and will read anything DP/RE related. I love how Zanetti mixes some of the characters of her different series.

5 Stellar Alpha Amazing Stars*****I am never disappointed when it comes to Zanetti's work! I am so effing glad that she has continued the Dark Protectors series. I love it sooooooo much!!!! Woooooohooooo!!! In this novella, I am even more intrigued with what is going to happen next. Noah, a hybrid demon and vampire, meets his human mate at an anger management class of all things, Lol. He is tasked with looking after a certain member of the Seven who has just got back from hell, I wonder who that could possibly be, Lol. Poor Abby has the whole town against her, especially her ex-husband who is determined to make her life as miserable as possible. Well as all of us avid fans of the DP series knows, once you are their mate, then that Protection is 100% in effect and lo' anyone who trifles with his mate. Poor Monte, the ex-husband, never knew what hit him. We meet kind of a motley crew of members in this book, Tabitha, a full demoness and a certain very intelligent human Detective O'Connell. Raine Maxwell, a Vampire along with Dr. Mariana Lopez who is the psychiatrist in charge of this anger management class. I pray that these characters get a book or at least a novella, there was so much chemistry between them all!!! Loved it! I am salivating with all kinds of thoughts of what Ivar and his mate are going to get into.
P.S. And Ben? The Benjamin Reese, followed him through so many books, I cannot wait until he meets his mate, Lol. I love him to pieces!!!!

Rebecca Zanetti’s books just work for me. I love her writing and I have a special place in my heart for her Dark Protectors series. I was surprised that she was writing a novella before ALPHA’S PROMISE, which comes out in June; mainly because the characters in this novella are completely new. Of course, RZ didn’t steer us wrong, and this looks like the start of another three episode off-shoot like her last three 1001 Dark Night novellas.
VENGEANCE is set in a tiny Indiana town and, hilariously, the hero, a half-vampire, half-demon names Noah, and the heroine, a small enhanced human named Abby, meet at an anger management class. Not so hilariously, Abby has been abused and is now being tormented by her ex-husband. Noah is on a quest for, you guessed it, vengeance for his brother.
Abby and Noah have a quirky relationship. Abby is in a difficult position where she really doesn’t have any other option than to lean on Noah for help. I still loved every time she clapped back over his overbearing attitude. She was a quieter heroine, but still had her own kind of strength. Especially when she finds out about immortals among us! Noah was a classic RZ hero. Super hot, alpha who changes his priorities once he meets Abby.
I wish we had gotten just a little more quiet time with just Abby and Noah, everything in this book was pretty face-paced and high-octane, which is totally fun in a quick little novella. But I am hopeful we will get to see them again in future novellas!
Overall, this was a fun, one sitting read that will really get fans of the series excited about ALPHA’S PROMISE. It was super fun to see crazy Benny, and I liked the delightfully unhinged new cast of immortals introduced in this book. I hope we get a human man and demon female pairing next! I think there was some fun foreshadowing for that story.

This is a novella within the Dark Protectors universe. I wasn’t sure what to expect this time because, from the description, I really wasn’t sure who these characters were. Never fear, some familiar faces pop up in unexpected ways. I’m curious to see how some of the new characters introduced here will tie in with the bigger story.
There’s a lot going on in this small town that the citizens are totally blind to. I absolutely adore how Abby’s court ordered anger management turns into a paranormal singles mixer. The poor lady in charge of this group! I cannot wait until her story plays out, as I’m sure it will eventually. There was a lot going on in this story, even at less than 200 pages. It really has me excited for the direction this series is going.
Because this story is a bit shorter, the love is a bit faster. Rebecca Zanetti makes a bold decision on how to speed along the mating process of Abby and Noah, and it pays off. I really like Noah and didn’t want him to do anything that would have me feel icky about his choices. Knowing he was trying his best to be patient and that he wanted Abby to understand his world before taking a huge step went a long way in keeping me on his side.
As usual, this author writes amazing chemistry. Not only were sparks flying between Noah and Abby, but there were other couples that were throwing off heat. I may be wrong, only time will tell as I continue on in this series, but it felt like this book was being used as a catalyst of so many things to come in the Dark Protectors world, not just characters but also plot and back story. I can’t wait.

I will read any and all short stories set in this universe, so I am rapidly filling in all the "gaps." This book was super short, but had all the things you've come to love in this world: smutty goodness, action (in the form of vengeance, among other things), wonderful banter, and a sprinkling of romance.
Noah is out for vengeance (obviously), but is diverted from his cause when Benny drops off a rather broken Viking. Tasked with taking him to anger management group therapy, he never suspected it would have almost 100% supernatural attendees. There's a vampire, a demoness, a human, Noah (a hybrid), and the Viking. The human, Abby, ends up being of interest to Noah, so much so that he ultimately almost abandons his quest for vengeance because of it.
Abby is in a tough spot. She was in an abusive relationship, and in a small town, where her ex has an in with the judge and the sheriff, she's pretty much screwed. Stuck in this town, now on probation for not taking her beatings easily, at least she's divorced. That doesn't seem to stop her ex from stalking and controlling her life, though. Noah steps in, using his magical power of not caring about town politics to get her safe, and discovering she's enhanced. These two were great and fun to watch, but obviously very quick to fall into mated love. I can't fault it, though, because I've come to expect at least that much from the characters in this world.

This was a great little novella - full of action, fast paced, lots of hot sexy attraction and funny to go with it - a great way to be introduced to the Dark Protectors series!
Noah is a hybrid vampire/demon looking to avenge his brother's death. His tracking has led him to a small town where he is put in anger management classes along with some other supernaturals and a human named Abby, a woman who is in the group due to allegedly attacking her abusive and controlling ex-husband. From the start the attraction between these two is off the charts!
Abby finds herself being stalked by her ex, who is friends with the sheriff and judge and uses his influence in an attempt to get her back. But Abby's idea is just to bide her time until she can get away from him, until things start turning a little nasty and Noah steps up to defend her. Abby has no idea that there are paranormal beings in her world, but things are about to take an interesting twist as her relationship with Noah hots up!
