DNF this one at page 65. I'm sorry, I know this dude is from 1789, but I just couldn't after "She falters as I rebury my c0ck inside her perfect, hot glove." Umm, what? If that's any indication of what the steamage is going to be like then I'm out, thank you, but no thank you.

well now ... color me surprised! :)

Okay, so here’s the thing. I don’t normally (almost never) read stories that have outside the realm of possibility elements to them. It’s just not my thing. But I’m on an Angel Payne high right now so I said *shrug* why not? And you know what …. LOVED.IT. Hence the above color me surprised statement. I mean I was sure I would at least not hate it, but I LOVED IT! It wasn’t just a well written story. It was a fun story and deliciously sexy story and just gah, I can’t with this woman right now! LOL

I’ve been a fan of the Misadventures stories from the start, not only because they’ve always been the perfect break in the day/life books, but also because they have introduced me to some very talented authors. THIS wonderful story along with many others have made me happy and put a huge grin on my face when I’m reading them.

As always, I look forward to many more Misadventures in the future and well done Angel Payne!!

And sorry in advance, I'm about to get snarky.

TBH, I mainly got this because I wanted to hear Shane East do a French accent. No surprise, he's great at everything - but I just can't deal. Allie's friends gift her a dream birthday getaway to a gorgeous French chateau, but she's kicking and screaming. (Um, I volunteer as tribute!?) And why is she mad about her vacation?

I go ahead and snarl it. “Look; I have to keep up this pace—”

“Why?” Drue ripostes.

“Because I have to... Someone has to be the leading fashion industry advocate for girls with game like this.”

I end it with enough sass to allow for a hips-and-ass combo shimmy, emphasizing the generous curves that have become my distinctive calling card to design houses across the world. I’m unashamed about the motion and undaunted about my achievement.

Sigh... Heavy is the head that wears the crown of The Leading Fashion Industry Advocate. What would we do without this lone fashion blogger lighting the way? And so humble, too. Hell, she's practically Jeanne d'Arc. 🤦‍♀️

... Hours later, she's alone, drunk and masturbating in her room. Suddenly she hears a noise coming from the armoire! Lo and behold - it's the MMC - transported hundreds of years through time! Is she freaked out? Terrified? Embarrassed? Angry? Oh no, not our genius FMC. In true "hold my wine" fashion, she simply assumes her friends hired a male escort for her birthday - and instantly starts groping and grinding on this poor bewildered dude.

In fairness, I still probably could've rolled with it - if this was a screwball comedy. But there's not nearly enough humor to pull off a scene this farcical. And then when I skimmed ahead, I saw that even past 80%, Allie still refuses to believe Maximillian's claim that he's from the past.🙄

... I never use the word "cringey", because I feel it's kinda judgmental and uselessly vague - so I'll just say this. I physically couldn't force myself to listen any more.

Oh my goodness how I love this story! Max is every woman's gallant dream. Strong, fierce and yet oh so lost at times and so childlike at others. How else can you be when you over 200 years out of time? Allie is his celestial soul mate but thinks she is only his 'for the moment' fling and a customer.

The story takes us around France and then off to New York. All the while Max has to move fast to keep up and understand. But one thing is blatantly clear, his and Allie's futures must mesh for him to remain.

I do like Allie but there were times I wanted to yank her and say "Wake up and smell the time travel!"
And as delicious and desirable as Max is there were just so many "Honey, I need to hug you." moments.

I love the excitement. I love the imagery. and I love the passion. I just freaking love this story.

Five 'miracle' stars! This book is magnificent with capital letter M!

Misadventures with a Time Traveler est une histoire qui m'a envoûté dès les premiers mots jusqu'à la fin! Impossible de lâcher ma liseuse, j'en voulais toujours plus et plus.

This novel changes and breaks some codes that we usually find in some romances, so it's a real delight! I loved and took great pleasure reading this book that made me vibrate to the rhythm of their story, it is a kind of book that you can read and reread again and again because it that good that you feel your heart trapped in the story, like a spell, it consumes you wholly leaving you aching and craving for more and more.

Angel Payne's writing has captivated me like no other writer before. It is unique, poetic and brilliant. She makes her stories flow with rich passion and scorching hot love that if you are not careful, it will burn you to ashes. I was very intrigued when it was announced this title as a part of Misadventures Series. Nothing is more exciting than finding new authors through the series to which I'm highly addicted.

Misadventures with a Time Traveller is irresistible and unique read filled with intense characters and enough elements to make you blush like a teenage girl. It is dangerously addictive and so tempting. The storyline line is rich with so much detail, steamy as hell and dangerously and elegantly filthy. The plot unfolds pretty fast, sucking you into the fantasy world created by the author. It is a beautiful escape that will play with your imagination.

Alessandra and Maximilian story is a unique and refreshing fairy tale where the princess who has Charming Prince allergy is more interested in fashion while the prince is patiently waiting for her love. They are from two different periods of time but their souls recognise each other as soul mates. They hearts are entwined, beating as one. Although the differences, they belong together. They are destiny. They are meant to be. Inked on the pages of fate. Their connection is intense and filled with dangerous desires and raw emotions.

Allie a workaholic video blogger doesn't believe in romance because she learnt it from her mother. She is quite cynical about love and happily ever after. A trip to Châteaux De Leon for celebrating her birthday with her friends will turn upside her world, it will change everything. Especially certain French garçon. She will lose herself in the carnal chemistry and spicy lust she will enjoy in Max's arms. The man who seems to be made only for her.

Maximilian, oh sacrebleu! He is what wet dreams are made of. Elegant, poised, filthy sexy and did I mention he is French! Who hasn't fantasized with a French lover? A man who can whisper filthy things in la langue de l'amour! So hot, isn't it? He is definitely the epitome of a selfless, attentive alpha male! I swooned over how he took good care of Allie, how he protected and worshiped her. I felt the love he professed to her, sweet and consuming! Lucky her!

This misadventure is the perfect blend of historical, fantasy romance! Unique and different from everything I have read over the year. Easily I can say that this book is a top read! I highly recommend you this book, a definite must read! Sexy descriptive, beautifully detailed in history and current events. As a new reader of Angel Payne's books I can say that a true love for her writing has bloomed in my chest.

Misadventures with a Time Traveler by Angel Payne was part of the Misadventures series. The series was written by various authors with a steamy flare and can all be read in any order as a stand-a-lone.

I’ve taken a hiatus from formal reviews for awhile but a couple quick thoughts: I don’t normally read this genre so it was hard for me to follow at first, but I enjoyed it and was excited to see where the author took it. And I totally loved Maximilian. I enjoyed Allie too, but Max sold me on the story. And no spoilers so no elaboration, but I would have liked to have learned more at the ending - even if it was en epilogue. It ended a little too quickly with me wanting to see more into the future…or the past. Otherwise, it was a quick read, well written and I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Alesssndra Fine - a fashion vlogger, with her sights set only on her career.

I never really cared for time travel before. And was leary about this book, but I trust, Angel Payne to change my perspective, and boy how she did.

The story between Max and Allie is hot and steamy and one that when you read it, you will need ice water and a fan to keep cool.

This is a book that can be read in just a few hours, or you can read it slow, and savor each word. Either way, you're going to love this book.

Misadventures with a Time Traveler is most definitely a 5 star book, with a 10 star potential.

Allie is a workaholic on a trip to France as a surprise birthday trip. She isn't thrilled about it until she meets Max, who she thinks is an actor. Max is really an 18th century prince that has traveled to the 20th century. The steam between Max and Allie is hot enough to need ice cubes to cool off. Just maybe Allie has found her true prince in the literal and figurative sense of the word. A good, quick read.

Okay! I am going to start off and say that I wasn’t into this book at all when I first started this book. I had to stop reading it and started on two other books than come back to this book. When I got back into it, it was kind of good. But not 100% I know that I wasn’t bored with it... but after a while, I was kind of ehhh about it, but I wanted to know what happens next.


Alessandra.... she was kind of annoying because she had so much proof of who Max was... like it took her until the end of the book to tell him she LOVED him and that is what saved him because he was fading.

Even her friends Reagen and Druce and her PR Dimitri knew that Max was the Prince? From 1789... wait, I think he was a prince 🤣I can’t even remember, but I was happy when she finally saved his life.. but I will say this, I did like “Misadventures with a Super Hero” better than this book... I don’t know about this book.... it wasn’t interesting, but it did have interesting parts in it. When I first started, I was between giving this book two ⭐️ ⭐️ or three ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️... but after getting halfway through this book, I decided on giving this book a four ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️...

Horribly written book. I stopped reading it halfway because of the atrocious, “cringy” dialogue. There was only one aspect I liked about the story and that was the castle tour of Chateau Chambord—a place in the Loire Valley of France that I hope to visit in a few months.
But these aspects of the book really bothered me:
1. Allie travels around France with her friends Raegan and Drue. They are supposedly co-workers, but their language shows the maturity level of sex-crazed high school students rather than serious business women. (This author spends WAY too much time being “besties” with her daughter). The lingo used in the dialogue just doesn’t work for readers older than 30.
2. These female characters all treat Max like he’s a sex object. It’s bad when men treat women like purely sex objects, but it’s just as bad when women do the same thing to men. I cringed everytime these girls call Max “Sir Hotness”.
3. I thought there was zero chemistry between Max and Allie. He just viewed her as marriage material because she was the first oversexed woman he saw with her legs opened for him. I found her to be about as prickly as barbed wire once she found out his true motives.
Onward to spend my time elsewhere...

I stopped reading at 31% and stopped skimming at 59%. This book was much anticipated for me after reading two other books from the Misadventures series. I had high hopes for the time travel situation. However, first of all, Allie's friends sound like drunk, noisy, pop culture shorthand in a blender on high. Even halfway through the book there's no meaningful development, just two people who can't keep their eyes and hands off each other. Any development or meaningful exposition is immediately interrupted by sex and verbal nonsense from the peanut gallery (the friends). From the beginning, Max is only interested in Allie for her looks and the story is told from the perspective of a privileged white girl and her friends traipsing through France for her birthday.

ANGEL PAYNE has written the best book of 2019 (in my opinion). I loved this book so much! So well written. I felt Max's confusion while reading, I felt the love he had for Allie, I felt EVERYTHING! In this story we have Allie Fine, who is a workaholic for sure. Allie has a surprise gift for a trip to France, but as a workaholic just basking in the sun and by the pool is t for her.

Maximillian De Leon comes in Allie’s life. But she’s surprised to learn he isn’t from this century, he’s from 1789! How did he make it here! Allie learns that he is in fact Prince Maximillian!

Even though they are from two different time periods they have a lot in common. Can you find your true love from the past?
