16 Chapters.
Andrius, and Violet’s points of view.

This is a duet. The second book is, “The Hit: Bratva Vows Book Two.” It’s available for preorder, and the release date is March 20, 2019.

The author’s writing had gripped me from the beginning. Andrius, perspective was intriguing and kept me reading once I had started.

A rule … more than that—a vow. One made in blood and sealed in death. No harm to women, no harm to children—not ever.

I’m a killer for hire, a man with so many bodies on his consc

Well darn.....

Woah roller coaster city! I am still sitting here in disbelief! This definitely twisted inside itself making the whole plot very convoluted! I for once have no clue how this is going to turn out. It does leave on a cliff a very tall tall scary cliff. Lots of mob stuff and lots of bad things happening to people. Hard to sort out what everyone knows and what they are going to do with the information.

Let me just say that I was super curious to start this new book. I had loved the first one and had so many questions that I needed to read it fast.
SR Jones created this amazing series and I really love a good Mafia book...
Just by reading one book and I knew I would be addicted. Her writing is that appealing and intense.
The Gift it's her latest release and it's the first book from the Bratva Vows Series. But I need to tell you something, you should read The Trap first. This book is the prequel

This one starts off with a retelling of the ending of The Trap from Andrius' view which gives us more to go on. I definitely recommend reading The Trap before starting this one, it will give you a basis for what is really going on. Violet has lead a troubled childhood starting when her mother and sister were killed and she and her father escaped to the UK and changed their identities, so essentially her life started at age 10. However, now her father has passed away and she has his diary and kno ...more

This is the first part of a duet, and is Violet and Andrius’ story. Andrius is a cold hearted enforcer for the Bratva, and Violet is handed over to him. No spoilers; this is a definite must read, you will not be disappointed. This is a well written dark romance which is intense, passionate, compelling, intriguing, and thrilling as well as having suspense, secrets, and twists, which all had me totally intrigued and hooked throughout this addictive page turner, and I cannot wait to read the second ...more

OH MY GOD

This book is insane! I devoured it and hated that I reached the last page and now I have to wait a month before I can read the sequel! I am desperate to learn the conclusion of this crazy, fascinating tale that yes, just like the prequel, had another twist I totally did not see coming!

I am not even half way through and already I am struggling to keep on reading.

“I can’t get my head around the fact he reads the classics, owns a mansion … and kills people in cold blood. The man is an enigma.”

Am I the only one questioning why these small listed facts, would make a man to be an enigma?

So he is a killer, a high ranking assassin, works currently for the bratva. Has more than an adventurous past. And now besides an enigma, he is additionally paranoid? And the reason the heroine mak

Andrius is a cold-hearted enforcer for the Russian mob with a strict code of no harm to women or children. He also has a hidden agenda he’s determined to carry out for which his code does not apply. When his current boss hands him a gift of Violet, an innocent (or so she seems), Andrius knows that she may just be the wrench in his plans. Can she be trusted and what is it she’s hiding? Violet has her own secrets, which if known could cost her life, but as much as she fears Andrius, she also unwil ...more

I read the prequel first and although you don’t have to I think it’s helpful to give background information, on Violet especially.

Andrius is a hired enforcer/killer for the Russian mob boss Sergei Allyov. Feeling generous, perhaps, Allyov gifts him a plaything-Violet.

Gradually we see more and more of Andrius’ background and family history, the reasons why he is like is and does what he does. He is very handsome but he’s also intimidating as well. Violet is still young and grieving but even throu

I become very excited when I find a new author. For me recently that was S.R. Jones. The Gift took me completely by surprise and is my most recent favourite read. I would recommend you start with the prequel The Trap, (it’s free at the time of posting this review), which I also really enjoyed, but isn’t strictly necessary. I love a dark, romantic suspense and I can’t believe I haven’t come across Ms Jones before, especially as the synopsis got me very excited. A great plot, it’s thrilling, and i ...more

I recommend reading the prequel before jumping into this book, as it shows what happened to join Andrius and Violet together, from her point of view. This books picks up at the end of the prequel, from Andrius's point of view. I liked that this book alternates between the pair as it lets readers understand what both characters are thinking and feeling.

In the prequel we learned that Violet had been on a quest for vengeance, but in this book we learn that Andrius is looking for vengeance himself.

Excitement and Intrigue in this Bratva Story!!

Violet is on a mission, hiding her beauty until she can execute her plans. Andrius is also on a mission, and notices Violet despite her attempts to remain unnoticed. When Allyov takes Violet and gives her as a gift to Andrius they both are suddenly in danger. Complications and confused feelings result in an exciting, sizzling read.

Discussions of Mr. Darcy from Pride and Prejudice turn to the personal when our mobster asks: “So you’d love a man who di

Loved it!

I don’t typically read mafia romances but something in the description intrigued me so I gave it a shot. Man I’m glad I did. Violet has a past and she thinks she’s doing the right thing; she thinks she knows who the bad guys are, but she doesn’t know the whole story. Andrius is a hitman for the mob, but he’s hiding a past, a past that wouldn’t go over so well within the crime organization. Andrius is given Violet as a gift from his boss; even though he doesn’t want her, he takes her to

Cliffhanger! 3 books need to make one

I REALLY HATE when books are sold this way! Personally I prefer if necessary, just sell them in a bundle! The Trap, The Gift and The Hit are about Violet and Andrius surrounded by MOB life. The overall quality of writing through the first two books is wonderful. The intimacy scene in the later part of the Gift is well done for how inexperienced Violet is. I'd love to give these first two stories 5 stars, but they end on a cliffhanger. Once I finish The Hit we

Sissy's Romance Book Review
The Gift by SR Jones is book One in the Bratva Vows Series. This is the story of Violet and Andrius. There is a Prequel that sets the book up called 'The Trap' that at the time of this review was free.
Andrius works as a enforcer for the Russian Mob but doesn't believe in hurting women and children but doesn't stop him from being tough enforcer. Andrius is given a gift which is Violet who looks plain and innocent but Andrius isn't so sure about that. Violet has her secrets and is buying her time

5 stars for story; 3 stars for editing

I love this story! It moves right along without lulls, has a good bit of substance, and I like the characters. I believe in the tension between Andrius and Violet. I like the dimension of adding in Justina's character. I can't wait to read the next book!
That said, the editing could use a little attention. There were some grammatical errors, weird sentences that seemed to have started as one thought and finished as another, etc. It took me out of the story a

Overall rating: 5

There are times when I come across mature content in a book I end up skipping pages upon pages. It just enters an overkill stage. This book is not one of those. I have to highly commend this author. The hot scenes are tastefully done, and never enters the overkill level. This author never forgets it’s about the storyline and not just the heat. As these characters become more emotionally entwined, the hidden dangers begin to slowly unravel and my own emotions became deeply imbedd

Great first book in this mafia romance duet!

Just a heads up: This is book one in a duet so it does end in a cliffhanger.

This is a great story with wonderful characters and it pulled me in from the very beginning. Andrius is a hit man with an agenda of his own. He keeps his head down and does his job without fail, which makes him a highly feared man. His boss decides to give him a gift, but not just any gift, he gives him a girl. Violet doesn't know how she ended up a gift to a hit man and she ha

This book had me on the edge of my seat.

Despite the fact that some segments of the book felt repeated. I couldn't understand why we needed to hear the exact same story from both characters points. Fair enough if they were different, but repeating the same thing over seemed inconsequential.

But the connection between the characters is electric. He did seem to soften a lot once he finally had his way with her, which seemed against his character. But I still couldn't help falling in love with them

2.5 stars

The story is just too slow and not dark. Every event has way too much detail from describing the makeup, attire to the application and getting dress.

The hero while suave certainly is no Dom. I would have liked to have read him as more cold than sweet with the heroine. More dark, and more of what I would expect to see in a cold, dangerous hit man. Their first love scene doesn’t happen until much later in the book.

Good read just terribly slow with a hero who is way too accommodating.

Hitman and his gift

Violet has wanted revenge against her father's killer but then she's kidnapped and given to his number one killer. Andruis is cold and deadly. He does know what to think of this young woman. After they have grown close he finds out who her father is and everything changes. Have I mentioned I hate waiting to find out what happens. Impatiently waiting for the next book.

Holy hell I need the next book

I have to thank Facebook for the ad for this series in my feed...This was spot on to what I like. Suspense, drama, sexiness, tension and mob action!
My heart broke at the end of this story. Both Violet and Andrius. Ugh, I love and hate cliffhangers but this one really hit me.
If you have don't have anything important to do the next day, read this book. It will keep you up very late trying to finish.

The story is very well written. Violet and Andrius both have their agendas. Their plans are changed when they are brought together.

They are both determined to get what they want. Their secrets bring a lot of tension to the story and I enjoyed the twists and surprises as well as the great chemistry between them. It makes for an exciting read.

I am voluntarily reviewing a copy I received.

Wow what a cliff hanger

Why are you reading this just buy the book already! This book is so dang good I don’t have a clue why they break it up into three separate ones. Awesome writing and such suspense it is killing me to write this and not just go and get the next book. Definitely one to get if you like crime romance. I bit on the brutal side but some romance to make up for a good paced book. Happy reading.

Now this was a good Bratva Romance novel. But it ended on a cliffhanger! So of course, I am waiting for the next book, with bated impatient breath. Violet, the waitress, kidnapped and given to Andrius, the Russian Mafia enforcer, as an actual gift to do with whatever he would like. It turns out Andrius has a moral code that doesn't really agree to human trafficking as a means of gifting a present.
And Violet has secrets of her own, that have led her to be a waitress in a Mafia premises.
