The best in this volume were:

"In Romania" - William McPherson
"Europe in Ruins" - Hans Magnus Enzensberger

These were also nice:

"Gift for a Sweetheart" - Isabel Allende
"Summers with Juliet" - Bill Roorbach

Another nicety was the way in which I came across this volume: on one of those rolling carts outside of a coffee shop in Kilauea, Kaua'i from which one takes a book and then leaves a dollar or two for charity. I was quite interested in Romania at the time and pleased to see it mentioned on the cover. I traded "If on a winter's night a traveler" for this and that was gone within a few hours.
