Informative, however, stylistically it starts a bit slow and different. By the end you have come to appreciate this and enjoy just how different it is. It breaks down campaigns and actions in every locale and works hard to present alternate points of view - while mainly focusing on the American POV. You grow to enjoy the vignettes - which recount major figures, political outlooks, or other details the author wishes the reader to have - at the end of chapters.
