I loved this delightful story, mind you, that's not really a surprise as I have thoroughly enjoyed every book I've read by this author! Valentine is a mistreated dog that is struggling to find a forever home so one of the rescue centre volunteers, Lily, decides she'll do her best to help him become a more appealing, well behaved dog in the hope that someone will then choose to keep him. However, Valentine is a much stronger and stubborn dog than she'd anticipated and she has no prior experience ...more

“A Dog Called Valentine”, by Roxanne Snopek, is a touching story about a broken hero and the strong heroine and the broken, clumsy dog that help him heal.
The dog, Valentine is a wonderful character, yes, he steals the show, with his amazing, undisciplined sweetness and silliness. It was so much fun reading these parts! And it’s sad to uncover all the damage beneath his erratic behavior, but also amazing to see that he’s still a good-

Loved it! A sweet tale of how a couple is brought together by a dog named Valentine. Lilly is volunteering at the shelter when Valentine is dropped off. She decides to take him in as a foster until his forever home can be found. She never expected him to be as unruly as he turned out to be. Knowing he would never get adopted without some training she sets out to teach him as best as she can. Problem is Valentine only seems to listen to the stoic stranger they stumbled upon in the park. Turns out ...more

Loved this book!!! Lily is a passionate animal volunteer and takes in a dog that has been bounced between a number of homes and always returned. She immediately realizes that she got more than she bargained for and that the dog is in charge. While trying to walk him, her new neighbor rescues her and assists with the dog. This begins an unusual relationship with lots of secrets.

The author is a master at her craft and had me turning pages just as quickly as possible. I fell in love with the chara

I loved this book, the story of how Lily wanted to work with a rescue dog so it would be ready for it’s forever family. The dog called Valentine slipped its collar the very first time they went for a walk and got away from Lily, this is how Lily came to meet Shane when he came to her rescue.
Yes Valentine’s doggy mishaps brought me a few chuckles, but oh the other emotions this writers words brought out, her words tugged at my heartstrings and I have heard these stings are apparently connected

A Dog Called Valentine by Roxanne Snopek. A heart-warming story. The author know how to bring a story together. This story grabbed me from the first chapter and wouldn't let me go until I finished the book. A totally enjoyable book.

I truly enjoyed reading this book!
It is a touching & emotional story.
It really pulled all my heartstrings.
Lily, is done with dating. No fix ups
from friends. No more blinds dates,
set up by her mom. She decided to
be a foster dog mom.
Shane, is helping to fix up his Gram's
home. He is still recovering from a
horrific & heartbreaking tragedy.
But, everything changed the day Valentine, came into Lily & Shane's life.

The different plot ideas on the book information and the name of the author caught my attention. This story lined up with all the hopeful notes I had for it. Great main characters, supporting characters, emotions, friendship to romance.
Shane's grandmother Dolly was a hoot. She was not afraid to say what was on her mind but not in a mean way.
Lily, what a big heart she has but she is SO over her head. There is the added pressure of she doesn't want to FAIL again. She wants to help but she doesn't

Who is not a sucker for a dog, especially one that has been abused and mistreated? And, who cannot sympathize with any single who is constantly harassed by a loving matchmaker? I fell in love with Lily and Shane at once. They were so sympathetic and genuine. I also became deeply invested in their struggles. There were hilarious moments with the dog to balance the more stern and sad realities of their lives. They were so clearly made for each other, but reluctant to admit it, fearful to hope beca ...more

Neither lily nor Shane are in the market for a relationship though their friends and relatives seem dedicated to finding them the perfect person to make their lives complete. Shane is dealing with the probably loss of being an active duty policeman after being injured on the job and losing his K-9 partner as he rehab’s his grandmother’s home and gets on with his life. A Dog Called Valentine is such a fun “Marley” sort of dog read by Roxanne Snopek. I fell for Valentine when he was still at the animal shelter. I knew that Lily could help Valentine, even had an idea how Lily and Shane would meet but did know how much Valentine would help these two find what it is that they are looking for but in denial about the said looking for it.

An entertaining read with everyday characters that you could easily see as your friends, one dog who needs to be understand, one fe

It’s been ages since I laughed so much while reading. A Dog Called Valentine is pure fun — romantic comedy at its best. Foster dog Valentine is everything you could wish for in a dog packaged up with everything you could possibly wish your dog would never even contemplate doing. He’s also a consummate matchmaker, bringing together his foster mum Lilly and Shane, a wounded police officer who’s renovating his grandmother’s old house.
Both Shane and Lilly have had their share of matchmakers up till

I laughed, I got teary eyed and really enjoyed this book! Anyone who has a dog or loves pets would enjoy this story of Valentine, a dog that no one wanted. Lily Garner volunteers at a pet shelter and applied to foster Valentine…she knows nothing about training dogs, but just knows that she will be able to help Valentine get a forever home. Valentine is matted and uncared for and Lily will change all that. Lily meets Shane Bowman when Valentine, who is overjoyed to be out of a cage, takes off one ...more

I had never read any books by this author and had no idea what to expect. Little did I know I was going to find a rare pearl in a vast ocean of authors.
While others will give you the plot, I will go a different way.
The story of Lilly, Shane and the dog named Valentine was touching, and at times heartbreaking , but also heartwarming.
With Lilly’s , we are reminded that the experiences we have as children and how parents behalf towards us, does in fact affect us as adults. Insecurities and feeling

I’m going to be working through the story hangover left after this book for a long time to come. It’s not really an emotional roller-coaster, there aren’t the big changes of direction I expect from that, but it pack one heck of a punch. I kind of think I’m feeling what “punch drunk” really means. Lily and Shane are adorable together. Add Valentine into the mix and you’ve got a lot of chaos to deal with, but still completely adorable. I’d be hard pressed to pick a favorite character from this boo ...more

Loved, loved this heart warming romance of how a dog brings this couple together. Valentine, a foster dog will have you laughing out loud with his antics. Lily is over her head with Valentine, when she meets Shane at the park. The dog was the best part of this book. Valentine has so much personality and your heart breaks when they are bathing him and using the clippers on his fur and see the past hurts he endured. Brought a tear to my eye with how much hurt Valentine went through. Then all the training and learned behaviors Valentine caught was great, from the agility course to learning to walk on a leash, so sweet! The end when the dog was at the party it was like he knew it was an adoption event and he was going to ...more

A Dog Called Valentine by Roxanne Snopek
Snopek writes the most beautiful stories. Incredible characters, emotional plots mixed with words of wisdom and bursts of humor, she's always a one click for me. A Dog Called Valentine is a sweet tale of hope wrapped in love. Valentine is an adorable mess that turns out to be a great matchmaker. Lily, Shane and Valentine speak to the heart with a charming grace that is classically Roxanne Snopek.

I loved this book, it was an entertaining and engaging read.
It's heartwarming, really funny and sometimes it moved me to tears.
I loved the human characters, the couple was great but the grandma was perfect, and I loved Valentine.
The pace, the timing are perfect, the style of writing very good.
It would be nice to read other books with this great cast of characters.
I look forward to reading other books by this author.
Highly recommended!

Ms Snopek has crafted an enchanting story of loss and recovery. Impacted deeply with the loss of his canine partner, Shane appears rudderless until Lily and Valentine literally slam into his life. Offset with poignant and heartwarming moments, the lighthearted Valentine moments will steal your heart. This is a perfect book for animal lovers who love to see second...and sometimes third...chances championed.
