I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy from the Great Escapes Book Tours. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. Is Callie's belief in Hank justified?
A Curio Killing by Mary Ellen Hughes is a sweet cozy set in Keepsake Cove. This town must be the collector's paradise with entire stores dedicated to individual collectibles. Callie and Lyssa have solved a murder or two before this one.

This is my 3rd journey back to this town and it kept me guessing until the very end.  I can't even begin to image a town that has such a variety of collectible stores, but it seems to work for Keepsake Cove!

Callie is a smart woman and is enjoying her new life running her grandmother's music box store.  She has settled into the town nicely, met a new guy that runs the cafe, and she has solved a murder or two.  The festival in town brings back her ex, Hank, who seems pretty clueless.  Why he think

This is a book that can read as a stand alone but the reader will benefit from reading the earlier books in the series to know the wonderful charcters and the setting. I adore this series !

This is the third book in the Keepsake Cove Mystery series by Mary Ellen Hughes.

This was my first book in this series and I wasn’t disappointed.

Callie Reed is visiting a local town festival where her ex-boyfriend, Hank is performing on stage. He obviously still had the hots for her due to his new song’s title, Missing You. Then after an argument with his band manager the man winds up dead and Hank is suspect number one. I am not entirely sure why Callie felt the need to search around fo

Once I got really into the first few chapters of this book, I couldn't put it down. I had enjoyed the first two books a lot, but I loved this one even more. I kept waiting for Aunt Mel to make her presence known by chiming Grandpa Reed's music box like in the other books. It came but was definitely not what I would have expected, but it was so sweet. I liked that one part of the last book was explained in this book. I can't go into detail or it would give away something major. It seemed like all ...more

This is the third book in the Keepsake Cove Mystery series. It works well as standalone, since the author does such a nice job of filling in enough of the past details that you won’t feel as if you are left in the dark.

One of the reasons I love cozy mysteries is that the books are clean without the swearing and sex that have overtaken too many of the books on the market. With this series, the author has created a nice community of friendly business associates, friends and a few not-so-nice chara

Hank might have been a rotten boyfriend but Callie doesn't think he's a murderer. Especially not a murderer using a music box he bought at her store. He's asked her to help him and she does it in part for him but more for herself. Bobby Linville, the victim, managed the band Hank played in but, in classic cozy fashion, he was not the person he might have appeared to be. I keep reading this series because I like Callie and I like cozies. Readers who are not familiar with Maryland's Eastern Shore ...more

*I received a free copy of this book which I voluntarily chose to write an honest review for.

I swear each book in this series is better then the last! Callie is all set for the Spring Festival and excited to just be there to enjoy instead of working this time. Callie Reed has inherited her aunt's music box shop in the collector shop village of Keepsake Cove. And as usually happens in a cozy series -- bodies keep turning up.

Callie gets involved in this one because the chief suspect is her ex-boyfriend Hank. Callie has been trying to extricate herself from the relationship but Hank doesn't seem to be getting the message.

The setting is interesting, and there are some good supporting characters. But Callie seems to be pretty spineless in dealing with her

This is a very entertaining murder mystery. The backdrop is a small coastal town that has quite a few shops that sell collectibles. The town is having a spring festival that ends up in a murder. The rest of the story is the search for the killer. There are many plot twists. I was quite surprised by the final reveal. I really enjoyed the discussion of the different collectibles; music boxes, dolls, miniature houses and so much more. Although I have read other books in the series, t

I thought the author did a really good job of creating so many likely suspects. For once, I was kept guessing until very near the end. However, I don't think the author helped me understand why Callie would even think about staying in Keepsake Cove to help get her despicable ex get out of jail instead of going to be with her mother who was going to have surgery. I could understand if she couldn't afford the trip, but her mother was paying for her ticket! I hope this is the last we see of Hank. I ...more
