Mia Knight penned one of my most read/re-read series (not to mention one of my TOP book husbands of all time #GavinForever). A series I have LITERALLY read over ten times start to finish.

And that's not even counting those "revisit" reads in which I only go back and re-read my favorite parts.

Because, whelp, when something is that just have to binge on it whenever possible, my friends.

Like a toddler with a jar of Nutella.

This book was outrageously entertaining, epic, explosive, and a labyrinth of highly charged emotions! This author is amazing. She has the uncanny ability to always create multifaceted characters and a plot that never stops. I can't freaking wait for the next book in the series!

Holy Crap! What did I just read?! Bitter Heat was the first Mia Knight book I read but it honestly will NOT be my last. This book is pure Five Star gold!! I read it in one sitting and could not get enough!! I am OBSESSED with James Roth and Jasmine Hennessy and seriously could not get enough of their uber hot story!!

Honestly when I went into this story I had no idea what to expect. When Jasmine and Roth are reunited years after an acrimonious divorce, the sparks between them could not be denied.

I had just about given up on reading a decent story for the rest of this year, but my good friend Zoë suggested this baby. I'm so happy she did. I was sucked in from the very first page and could not put this baby down.

Roth was such a gigantic A-Hole with his cruel treatment towards Jasmine. Of course I adore asshole heroes, so I was absolutely in love from the very first glimpse of him.

Jasmine was devastated by Roth during their short marriage. Roth blowing back into Jasmine's life like a

Update 3/24/19:
HOLY PLOT TWIST AND CLIFFHANGER. I've been counting the days for this book's release on 3/28/19. Then I see in a friend's ARC review that it ends in a cliffy. I mean, talk about DELAYED GRATIFICATION. I enjoy living on the edge by reading real fucking dark romance but I draw the line at starting a series/duet/trilogy that's unfinished. I love Mia's brain but I love my heart even more. I'm putting this baby in the corner (my shelf for incomplete series). Now, I can wait forever if

5+ Stars.

Goodreads says I've read 1,400+ books to date. Fourteen Hundred and not one of them was like Bitter Heat . I loved this book. Absolutely loved it. If I could rate it higher than 5 stars, I would. This is going to another one of those books that I don't shut up about for months - I can already tell.

Bitter Heat had EVERYTHING I love in a story.
I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys reading a well-written book with a strong as hell heroine. I am a HUGE sucker for a divorced couple

Bitter Heat is the newest release by Mia Knight and one I was very excited to get my hands on. Roth and Jasmine are a divorced couple who come face to face after five years and believe me their chemistry is smoking hot. Roth is a bully and a jerk who actually is a great candidate for an order of protection and who makes Gavin Pyre look like a normal guy. From the very beginning he had my attention and at no point do you get any warm feelings from him because you know there is something not ...more

I thought this was a stand-alone and I was literally going to throw hands.

I'm so glad there's a sequel because I was gonna cry from that ending.

This is my first Mia Knight novel but it will not be my last. From reading Val's reviews of her books, I knew that I would love it!

Bitter Heat tells the story of Jasmine Hennessy, the daughter of a millionaire. She ends up running into her ex-husband of 5 years in Colorado which leads to old wounds being brought up and some hot sex.

Obviously, they

This book was everything I needed! Powerful and strong! The characters shined!!
I loved every word!
Its worth the reading!

Absolutely LOVED this second chance romance. It's a bit dark, very raw, hot off the charts, and fantastically written (as always if it's Mia Knight). Jasmine is a badass heroine and Roth is probably a little bit crazy, but crazy for Jasmine and that's all that matters. This ends on a mild cliffhanger but I'm still dying for book 2!

The plot -interesting.
The characters - mechanical.

Couldnt connect with the characters.

The H and h are divorced. The H blames his father in law for the divorce.
When he sees the h alone after 5 years, he almost kidnaps her and takes her to his cabin.
He still wants her. She doesnt want him.
But his rough sex turns her on. In fact they used to have these rough sex sessions, which he tries to remind her. Then he asks her about her father, her inheritance, her sister...blah blah.

It took a couple of moments and a few one on one conversations with myself before I could properly deprogram my brain. If you follow Mias #1 series you know what Im referencing.

You must, you absolutely MUST, deprogram your mind not to look for characteristics of a certain charismatic dude. You must! Otherwise you wont enjoy this incredible story!

Roth is dark, slightly neurotic, and oh so sexy! Hes not your typical hero. Im not saying another word! No spoilers! Jasmine is not your typical
3 stars

I'm a bit at loss on how to rate this, but 3 stars seems fair. First things first: This book ends on a cliffhanger. I like to go into books relatively blind and unfortunately I didn't realize this wasn't a standalone but part of a duet/trilogy (I don't think it wasn't marked as a series when I put it on my list).

Going in, I only knew this was a story about a divorced couple. Second chances are a hit or miss for me, but for some reason I'm a sucker for married/divorced couples trying to

This was NOT what I was expecting!!!! I actually dont know what I was expecting but THIS I was not expecting 😳😳

So there is SOOOOOOOOOO much more to this story than the blurb leads to you believe and NOW we have to wait for the conclusion 😩😭like WTF MIA😂

This woman was a mess. And the hero was so not my kind of hero. He was a douchebag. He forced her but then again she loved it. Lol. Why I say shes a mess. Not sure if I want to know anymore about them. Not sure how I got thru it in the first place. Well I did skip their sex scenes cause those were just too abusive for me. ...more

I dont really know what to say about this other than that Im ready for book 2! This was a second chance romance with a dark and mysterious twist. The characters and the story seems half-revealed, so I will anxiously be awaiting the sequel!!

Ive really become a fan of Mia Knight, and you should definitely check her out if you havent yet. Plus Bitter Heat is available through KU, so why not!!

1 star.

Too much inner dialogue and not enough interaction with the two MCs. I mean, I don't care if the h went and bought a dress for crying out loud, I want to know what the hell is happening with her husband! And all the drama with her father... that old man didn't do anything right for her in all her life and she just forgave him... but she's not capable of listening to her ex-husband's apologies for one second...

Yeah, it's not believable. She can't be mother Theresa to her father and sisters

What started out as an interesting story quickly devolved into a boring, pointless mess. It's like being trapped with an incessant talker who has nothing consequential to say. No drama, no suspense, no storyline to speak of... just boring sex scenes. The protagonist was such a wet dishrag... like a cork bobbling around in the ocean just letting things happen. I did not want to spend time reading about her. She was such a pathetic character and that seemed to just ooze into her interactions and ...more

This story sucked me in from the first sentence and didnt let me go until the last word. Jasmine is a wonderful female lead who sacrificed everything only to get the raw end of the deal, not once, but twice. Is Roth nothing but a cold-hearted monster, or is he capable of loving Jasmine as she deserves? I love the well fleshed-out scope of emotions that ranges from lust and desire to despair and resilience. The descriptions placed me in the heart of the settings, bringing all my senses alive. I loved the H! I loved how he was slowly revealed to the reader as being much more dark and obsessed with the h than it seemed. I loved his focus and one track mind with the h. I liked the h and the chemistry between the two and I thought the writing was better than the writing in the Crime Lord series. I did not, however, love all the inner monologue. There was just too much and it slowed the story down in parts. Overall, I liked it (pretty close to loved it) and look forward to book 2.

There wasn't enough back story for me to care or be interested in what will happen with the Jasmine and Roth in the future. Jasmine always just indicated that something bad has happened in the past but never explained what and that irritated the hell out of me.
I struggled with the long chapters and never ending inner dialogues. On the other hand - sex scenes in the first half of the book were one of the steamest I've ever read.
"Ice spread through her chest. 'You really are a monster,' she whispered. 'I am,' he agreed. "And now you have to live with it."
This book started off a bit slow for me, but it quickly picked up and I was on an emotional roller coaster from there. I don't think a male character has ever evoked such strong feelings in me as Roth did. He made me so angry at times that I wanted to go through the pages and punch him! He is an enigma, one of the most cold, calculating, and diabolical men I've ever

Bitter Heat is one of my top reads for 2019.
Its completely different from Mias Crime Lord Series.
It hooked me almost instantly. The complexity of these characters blew my mind. Roth, oh my goodness, hes by far my favorite BBF this year. (Yes, Im a book whore)
Jasmine is so very much his equal in many way. The secondary cast is equally intriguing. This world is incredible. Go in blind. It has everything you want plus a real humdinger of a cliffhanger...sorry.

Plot~ 5/5
