My Kind Of Perfect

Rate this book
I, Adele Roberts, am a romance author, and it’s the most remarkable career in the world, until I lose myself in the depths of my characters’ love lives and realise theirs are way better than my own.

Determined to find out if ‘Mr Perfect‘ exists, I do the one thing I never thought I would: I sign up for online dating.

Yes, that’s right.

I can only imagine it’s a disaster waiting behind the click of a button—or is it?

Enter Drew Adams.

He’s hot, dreamy and exactly like the kind of heroes I write about in my books, which means he is too good to be true.

Right?

Well, there’s only one way to find out...

KLJ lives in South West England just on the edge of Dartmoor where the moorland goes on for days. It's beautiful, breath-taking and occasionally rather wet. She probably swears way more than she should, her mum makes the best cupcakes in history, and she goes weak at the knees for a man with a five o'clock shadow.

SPOILER WARNING!!!!!

To all the single ladies out there, this is a must read for you! And to all of us old married folks, be thankful you don’t have to go through all the “singles” crap again because this reader had some flashbacks moments of nightmare dates in past before I met my own Hero!

This is a story about Adele. She is a romance writer (the author had to stretch there! Lol) and wants to find her own “Book Hero”. She also has 2 besties who have signed her up on a dating site so that she can meet men – or at least her own “Mr. Right”.

“With a profile like this, you’ll be every man’s wet dream.” “With a profile like this, I’ll be taking out restraining orders.”

Drew, the Hero owns a pub/bar. He is 30 yrs old and NOT a Manho! In fact, he has been celibate for over 12 months since his last girlfriend, Alice. Besides being a gentleman, he is a HOTTIE, kind, supportive and the boy has a lot of sexy moves & thoughts that I enjoyed getting his POV! He also has had the hots for the heroine whom he sees every day at his pub because she likes to use his pub as her own personal office!
He has been crushing on heroine for several months (6?) but never made any moves on her because she seemed oblivious to him - until her friends one night ask her to get them drinks which leads to a conversation with Drew and a friendship/relationship developing.

“Excuse me, Drew. Are you serving?”
“What can I get you, Adele?”
“Can I get a Dirty Evening Between The Sheets and… A Screaming Orgasm, please?”

What I loved most about this story is that Author has inserted somewhat a realism of what single folks these days go through in the dating world when searching for “The One” with albeit funny antidotes that had me in stitches! I love every single character in this book, but I confess Adele was my kind of heroine! She is funny and a straight shooter. The things that came out of her mouth at times had me cracking up:

“I mentioned about signing up to online dating and poof just like that I have a profile with all my info and a profile picture that makes me look like I’m advertising myself but just haven’t put my going rate on yet.”

*********
“Bex scares half of London.”
“What does she do to make the other half love her?”
“She opens her legs.”

*********
“Women are women. It doesn’t matter if they’ve had one sexual encounter or a hundred. For me, it’s about who they are as a person. Their goals, their morals, their heart.” 👏👏👏
*********
“Pray that they do. There’s only so many conversations I can have with my vibrator while I think of dick.”
“Oh, the annoyance.”
“You have no idea. I've not had a good cockadoodledoo in like… forever. I've forgotten what one looks like.”
“Such an awful thought.”
“It is, because at this rate, the longer I go on without it, the more I'm likely to hyperventilate when I have it.”
“Jesus, Adele, you should come with a warning sign.”
“Drew, it's been that long I could probably come with anything.”

*********
I want to shout his name from the rooftops. I want to let every woman out there know that I, Adele Roberts, am half-naked while Drew Adams finger fucks me on his kitchen table.
BOOM.
“You feel so good, Adele.”

I kiss him again, rocking my hips against his fingers and I combine my movements with undoing his trousers. I want to feel him. I want to taste him. I want to… I gasp a little too loudly when his dick springs out like a Jack-in-a-box.
Fuck me sideways… I know I was expecting a snake, but this is a bloody anaconda.
“Holy shit, Drew. Is this really yours?”
He chuckles. “Well, I hardly borrowed it. Yes. It’s very much mine.”
“Will it fit?”
“That’s what I’m hoping to find out.”

*********
“Stop this dirty nonsense; you said you were a gentleman when it came to a lady,” I tease.
“What I said was true. I just left off the bit where I can be an animal.”

*********
“Drew, stop. You can’t fuck me on your kitchen table it’s unhygienic.”
“But fingering you on it is okay?”
“Umm, good point.”

*********
“You okay?”
“You have ruined all the wonderful memories I ever had with my vibrator. But I’ll forgive you.”
“Good. Because I’m about to give you that cockadoodledooing.”

*********
“I don't mind what I catch if I can have the Drew effect too,” Bex says.
“Please excuse my friend: she has no filter.”
“I bloody knew it!” Jules beams. “I’ve seen the way you two have been looking at each other. So, you two have been…?”
“Bed bunking? Yes, Jules we are and have been,” Drew adds, so matter-of-fact.
“Girls, while you’ve been arranging dates for me, I’ve been dating Drew’s dick.”
“And the dating went so well, I made her my girlfriend.”
“Shut the front door,” Jules squeaks. Gripping my arm tightly in excitement. “He’s your boyfriend?”
“You jammy-fucker,” Bex adds.
The happiness on their faces makes my cheeks ache with how hard I’m grinning. Then all our smiles turn into laughter when Drew adds with enthusiasm, “Boom! Adele is finally getting some.”

*********
“Thank you for showing me your knew baby,” I whisper.
“Thank you for being mine.”
“And you’re removing my trousers because?”
“I need confirmation that you aren’t wearing knickers?”

The sex scenes are HOT and best of all, this was a SAFE read. There is NO cheating & NO sex scenes with OP. There is unfortunately a little OW drama in the form that the ex-GF who comes back to the picture at the end to cause trouble but he didn’t want anything to do with that witch.

Then there is a sweet epilogue of two years later that had me back to crying rivers! (Yes people, this book turned me into a soft ball of marshmallow..but boy was it yummy!)

As for heroine, she does go on two stupid dates that her friends lined up for her but they are nothing. She also had an ex-boyfriend in the past who called her boring and destroyed a little of her confidence and made her hesitant to fall in love again in case she got hurt. She too was celibate for 2 yrs before meeting Hero.

Neither are virgins (yes, Cyndi, I’m talking to you!!! ). Unfortunately there is no babies in this one (sorry Jenny!) but there is humor (hello BB!!!) and lots of “feels” (Hey Rejane, Darlene, Tianna, Elizabeth, Anna, Sammi, Dilek, Nova, Lu and everyone else!).

Highly recommend!

What grown ass woman who had sex before is asking if hero’s dick will fit inside her.?
Any woman with brain cells will never ask that.
I really hate women who are desperate for any man.
This woman was so pathetic that she doesn’t remember when is that last time she had an orgasm that wasn’t with her hand. no wonder she’s asking the hero if his dick is going to fit. 18 months of celibacy and she already forgot what a dick is. I mean it’s not like she wasn’t with her first love for 4 years.
She went from a shy little nun to a full on wild woman. And how many men has the heroine been with? 1 man. A total of 1! That’s our experienced heroine? 🤨

I can’t stop thinking about him. Jesus what is it with that man. Is it because he’s the owner of a cocktail bar, the fact he’s sexy as fuck or the fact he has the ability to make me wet and have a word vocabulary malfunction

“Bex scares half of London.” “What does she do to make the other half love her?” “She opens her legs.”
Friends like the heroine who need enemies.

And hero is too much of a pansy. If he really wanted her he should have ask her out and not wait. I want my heroes to make a move faster than that. And he was fine with her going on online dates. What does it say about him that after he had sex with heroine he basically didn’t have any problem with her going on dates in his own bar?

I don’t like the idea of her dating another man because I want to have her for myself, yet here I am practically throwing her to the next guy that pings with an email.

Does it sound like a man who goes after what he wants? If you like the woman make a move don’t just sit there feeling sorry for your ass.

description This one was OK. I liked Adele a lot, and it had laugh out loud moments. However, I couldn't stand her two friends. They were annoying, pushy, and their characters felt forced. Especially Bex who plays the female version of the BFF manwhore. Drew also didn't wow me. He was sweet, and not a manwhore (bonus points for that), but I prefer my heroes to be more alpha. It left me wondering if the heroine hadn't made the first move if he would have ever grown a pair and went after her himself? Last we had to have cliché OW drama. A scenario I have read in 5000 other romance books at this point. I think the author was trying to paint Drew with a "good guy" brush, but I ended up thinking he was an idiot. Why would you invite an ex you KNOW likes to cause trouble to stay in your guest room? Ever hear of a hotel? (lol)

Fun, flirty and a little Dirty. High five for the witty banter!

Adele Roberts is a romance author, but unfortunately unlucky with her own love life. She is ready to rejoin the dating world but her eyes are firmly on one man. Drew Adams is a successful business owner and Adele is one of his regular customers. She writes and drinks his coffee. He knows her routine and finds her mesmerising. When he finds out she is dating he feels a spike of jealousy. When he sees the men that turn up to meet her he doesn't think any of them are good enough. She thinks he's too good looking. He thinks she isn't interested. When these too connect sparks go into overdrive. My Kind Of Perfect is a comical romance with steamy scenes.

I've read a few of K.L. Jessop books and this one is my favourite so far. The humour worked well and the no filters were affecting more than the coffee. It's fun, flirty and a 5 star from me. This was a kindle unlimited read. The advertising hype had me excited to read I'm so glad it didn't disappoint.

This was a funny and swoon worthy story. Adele is a romance author but she has no romance in her life. So she does the one thing she thought she would never do and that is join an online dating sight. Yes she went there and is now regretting it because she thinks she will not find the right guy like her romances but instead find a loser like she has been attracting.

Then she gets a match online. Drew lord have mercy is he a gorgeous guy who is sweet, caring, and a total gentleman but is that really how he is or is he just acting? Only time will tell and Adele is nervous as hell but she is willing to give it a try.

This is a must read romance story that will have you laugh out loud and have you swooning over Drew!

My Kind Of Perfect is a lighthearted and heartwarming romance read and I was highly entertained from the first page.

The wit and the banter between the characters and the interactions between them made for an satisfying and fabulous read. The chemistry between Adele and Drew was off the charts hot and I just loved their story. The ending was simply gorgeous!

Overall, I very enjoyed both the storyline and the style of writing and can’t wait to see what this author comes up with next.

Humour, sexy and sweet.

New author to me and I was not disappointed. This book had me giggling, snorting and grinning like an idiot. This was a feel good romance with heart and I cannot wait to read more from this author.

With hints of nostalgia for my time spent in England, Adele and Drew had me longing for more! Sweet, sexy and funny I loved it.

This got such good reviews that I feel terrible about DNFing it, but at 25% of the way in, I'm so bored I just can't bear another word. There's nothing particularly wrong about the story or the writing. I just hate the heroine's voice. This is probably a case of 'me, not you'.

Drew and Adele's story is the first book I've read by this talented author. This 5 star read is addictive and has you laughing out loud. I loved Adele's friendship with her two best friends, and they give some great one liners that you want the chance to maybe use yourself one day lol. The passion between Drew and Adele is hot and I found myself re-reading some of the scenes as I wanted to savour them all over again. Having had my heart broken and spending quite a while single, I found myself able to relate with Adele and her fears about dating again. I was also able to understand her craving to have someone there to share things with. However, I definitely wouldn't ever consider online dating as it's just not my thing haha.

KL Jessop has written a romance that I can see every reader enjoying if they are lucky enough to pick it up. It leaves you excited to discover what else the author has written. I definitely recommend this fun and hot romance story of taking a chance at finding love again.

Adele's looking for that perfect man and her friends are all too ready to assist. Rule #1: never let your friends assist you on an online dating service!!
Drew, owner of the bar/coffee shop where all her dates take place is privy to watching the train wreck happen right before his very eyes. Problem is, he wants to be her choice.
I'll start by saying this is the first I've read by this author, but it won't be the last! Cute, light-hearted, funny story. The characters were fun and lovable. Overall I give it 4 stars

My Kind of Perfect is one of those stories that I never saw coming to be honest. I mean, I read the description and thought, yeah, this sounds like an interesting read, but OMG! I laughed so hard throughout, that now my stomach & sides hurt, so I am going to warn everyone to maybe not be reading with any liquid in you mouth, or you could end up with said liquid everywhere. Every interaction was witty, and entertaining, not to mention that not only was it romantic, but more than that, the friendship between the heroine, Adele & her friends was almost the best part. Now, there was Drew, the hero, who she shared a very strong chemistry with, so there was a big side of spicy as well. Obviously, I already mentioned the cast of secondaries, who added a ton to the story, but wanted to reiterate that fact again as they really tried to steal the show. I'm not going to go into any more detail, because I don't want to give anything else away, as this was the perfect addictive read by the very talented K.L. Jessop that I will read over & over again whenever I need to go to a happy place! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Such a fantastic romcom. I was hooked from the first page and couldn't put it down. It's well written and flawlessly switches between having me cracking up laughing and burning up from the steam. I adore the friendship between Adele and her friends, they all have unique personalities and work together so well. They're exactly the kinds of friends you want.

Adele is so relatable and real. I loved watching her adventures in online dating, it had me laughing out loud. Then we have Drew Adams. He is so swoonworthy and the ultimate book boyfriend. He's gorgeous, has his life together, and is the perfect balance of sweet and sexy. The banter between Drew and Adele is fantastic and their chemistry is off the charts.

I adore KL Jessop and this is definitely one of my favourites. I can't recommend it enough.

Adele Roberts is a sexy, smart and brilliant romance author or at least that is who I saw her as. I am Drew Adams, the owner of the Two Bar. A coffee/cocktail bar and Adele has been coming into my bar for months. Adele's friends want her to step away from her book boyfriends and find a real one. So my well meaning friends sign me up for online dating and the fun ensues. I loved how down to earth Adele's character was, she wrote about romance but she had never been romanced. Drew on the other hand was hot and had been with woman but wasn't a player, he was real and down to earth. The two together were amazing. I loved this story and I hope we get Bec's story in the future. This was my first read by this author but I know it won't be my last.

I absolutely LOVED this story. It's the first by KL Jessop that I've read and I now want to work my way through all the books this author has written.
It's a rom-com.
Adele's besties set up an on-line dating profile for her...OMG...that's where the chaos starts.
Drew has the coffeeshop/bar where Adele sits to write. And where she arranges to meet her dates...
Adele thinks Drew is hot. He thinks she's gorgeous. But neither have a clue of how the other feels.
This story is hilarious, it's hot and it's entertaining all the way through.
MUST READ from me!

This story was definitely a comical romantic read and I was entertained from the first page! The witty banter between characters and how it was different based on the interactions between them really provided for an enjoyable read. I also really enjoyed the underlying theme of friendship as well, as Adele’s best friends had her back whether it was something they supported and initiated or not. I also was a huge fan of Drew because who doesn’t like a super hot guy with his life together?! Overall, I really enjoyed both the storyline and the writing style and can’t wait to see what comes next.

My Kind Of Perfect will have you dying of laughter then reaching for a fan over and over again. This book gave be the best kind of whiplash as K.L. Jessop seamlessly bounced back and forth between pure comedy and enough heat to catch everything around you on fire with Drew and Adele’s story. Thanks to all the humor and the fact Drew is #bookboyfriendgoals this book will keep you smiling the entire time you’re reading.
Adele is the kind of girl I think everyone would call best friend material. The conversations and antics between her and her two best friends really drive that point home. They’re all ladies I would totally find myself hanging out with in real life. Then you’ve got the super swoony, totally sweet and insanely hot Drew. This man combines sexy and sweet in a way that will having you panting.

I adored this charming, amusing story. Adele Roberts is a successful romance author who's getting over being dumped by her cheating ex. Keen to get her back in the saddle, her two best friends sign her up to an online dating service, with predictable disastrous results.

Adele spends most of her days writing in a coffee/cocktail bar owned by Drew Adams. Adele thinks Drew is ridiculously attractive, but he doesn't look twice at her... or so she thinks. Little does she know that Drew thinks she's the most beautiful woman he's seen. When Adele uses her lost phone - which is clearly in her pocket - as an excuse to go back to the bar as it's closing one night, Drew decides to take advantage of the situation and kisses her. They end up in Drew's apartment above the bar having the hottest sex of their lives.

Adele doesn't tell anyone about her dates with Drew, not even her best friends, because their relationship quickly becomes precious to her. Eventually, they spill the beans at another dating event her friends have set up, and their reactions were hilarious.

There was a lot of funny lines in this book, moments where you laughed and moments where you sighed happily. I adored Drew and Adele, and found myself cheering them on. A great novella to read when you want a good love story but are short on time.

My Kind Of Perfect by K.L. Jessop is a funny, light-hearted swoony story about a romance author and a sexy, successful businessman.
Adele would love to live the life her characters have, she may write about romance but it’s the one thing she is lacking in her own world. After much deliberation, she does what she once swore she’d never do: join a dating agency. Regret sinks in the moment she presses enter to submit her details as she fears it will all be a waste of time.
But, fate has plans for her and matches her up with Drew.
Drew’s got his own business, he’s sweet and kind not to mention downright gorgeous. He’s the ultimate gentleman and has Adele wondering if he’s playing her. But chemistry like they have can’t be faked and when you add in the witty banter they shared, it just made for a heartwarming tale. Don’t hesitate to One-Click this, you won’t be disappointed.

My Kind of Perfect is a funny little romp of a book. It tells the adventures of a romance writer Adele who hasn’t had the best of luck in the love department. Her friends decide to set her up with an online dating profile and hilarity ensues from an accountant to a guy who brings her balloons on a first date like some children’s party clown. She only has eyes for Drew the guy who runs her favorite bar. Drew has always had his eye on Adele and thinks it’s funny all these lame dates she goes on he must witness. When he finally jumps in with both feet and asks her out it’s a funny, swoon worthy, sexy ride.

This was a quick little read but it was cute. I mean Adele had me laughing at times. I would have literally walked away had someone brought me balloons and an airport sign with my name on it on a first date. Her constant companions Bex and Jules are just as funny. The chemistry between Adele and Drew are off the charts. Only problem I had was the slang they used and how they described things. I’m from the US so yeah but I guess that’s what made it fun. If you want a cute fast paced read then this is for you.

I love this story!!! I absolutely LOVED the characters in Drew and Adele and the journey they take to finally get what they both want.

Adele is a Romance Author who spends most of her time creating the perfect book boyfriends in her own world of creativity and writing, yet when it comes to 'real-life' romance, she's not had so much luck.

Spending her days writing at The Two Bar, Drew Adams has caught her eye. He's super hot, owning and running the bar. He's charming and sexy....But he's unlikely be interested in Adele... So when her friends set her up with an online dating profile, determined to get her on a few dates, she goes with the flow!

I loved the friendship between Adele and her friends. Her friends, Bex and Jules, were crazy, taking charge and doing what they think best yet I really liked their dynamic as a group.

Drew was perfect! Perfect for Adele. And perfect for me as a reader. He is swoony, sexy, and thoughtful. He knows what he wants and he's determined to get it... even if there are a few insecurities and obstacles in the way.

My Kind of Perfect is a wonderful steamy, sexy, romance novel. An easy to read, fun-filled story with brilliant characters. It has the perfect amount of wit and humour, mixed with all the chemistry you'd hope for!

This was drawn out for me. I enjoyed it but there was a lot of hot and cold feelings that I felt annoyed with. The dates that Adele goes on are ridiculous and almost felt made up even though they were very real to her.
I wasn’t a fan of the friends, I thought they were too over the top and the way the dating profile was described it almost felt like they were making fun of her though it wasn’t their intention.
Drew definitely had to work for what he wanted and he was patient with Adele while she discovered what she wanted.
Overall I enjoyed it, but wouldn’t recommend it.
