I read this book as a medical student with some basic experience in psychiatry and psychology. If you are put off by the cover picture or if it sounds a bit new-agey, wait. Its definitely not, and i think the case he makes for why this is important is logical and also practical. As a book seeking to achieve a specific goal, I think it thoroughly achieved that, and in a very digestible package too. I've already considered recommending this book to even new believers who struggle with feeling God in prayer. The book follows 4 main sections. Personality, Emotionality, What is prayer and lastly the apologetics of prayer. The first section was new information to me, which was quite educational. The part about "What is prayer was beautiful and I wish every Christian would read it. The section about Apologetics was what I would call a good introduction and you would be equipped to push back against basic false claims like "all prayer is the same". On a side note, it was really cool that the authors "spanishness" came out in the authors and doctors that he would quote. This was really refreshing and it introduced me to many new people who have done work in this sphere. He did himself and the greater Church proud with this one.
