The classic fairy tale retold by Nat Lambert and delightfully illustrated by Rosie Butcher.

As always, LRRH goes off to visit her grandmother, who lives in a cottage at the other side of the forest. On the way she encounters a big bad wolf when she has stopped to rest under a tree. The wolf asks if she is lost to which she replies that she is not and that she is going to her grandmother's house.

The horrible wolf wants to gobble up LRRH right there and then but decides a better plan is to go to her grandmother's cottage and there he will be able to eat them both for lunch.

At the grandmother's house, he inveigles his way in and proceeds to eat up grandmother, dress in her nightgown and get into her bed. When LRRH arrives he shouts for her to come in and when there she notices a difference in her grandmother and remarks about her eyes, ears and teeth. The wolf counters with his answers, the last of which is 'All the better to eat you with,'

But before he can do so, LRRH's father arrives and not only does he deal with the wolf and squeeze grandmother out from his stomach, he banishes the wolf forever. The three of them then go to LRRH's house for a deserved tea.

Sweet little story, with that horrible interlude, but lovely illustrations from Rosie Butcher.

Always like reading children's books, including this one. It has a different twist of ending. Maybe so it will be child-friendly book. The hardcover will make this book last. And the AR app also add some magic into the story.

Had to read this to my little cousin, the father coming into the story caught me completely off guard, so much so I couldn’t read it through laughing.

Okay overall I enjoyed it... It's just that the ending was changed a lot. Like the wolf doesn't eat Little Red Riding Hood. Instead he tries to and she snacks the wolf with her basket, knocking him out cold. Then her father pops by at that moment and saves the grandmother by squeezing the wolf's tummy... And nothing bad happens to the wolf... Like... What?

One day, Little Red Riding Hood goes to visit her grandmother, but a surprise is waiting for her! Attached to the inner back cover of the book and secured by a plastic covering is a set of press-out play pieces—Little Red Riding Hood, Big Bad Wolf, Wood Cutter, Grandmother's Cottage, and six pieces to make up The Forest—so children can act out the story again and again.D

Its been a while since I’ve read this fairytale and I was definitely surprised how extremely graphic this book is. I would definitely read this book to a child and teach the child bullying. But most importantly, domestic violence. Definitely a great book to apply and teach a child.
