Hi, I am Elizabeth and thank you for viewing my book page.
From a very early age, fitness and nutrition have been very important to me. I was diagnosed with Type I Diabetes aged 8, which has forced on me the importance of health in my day to day life. From an early age I have been experimenting with various types of exercise and diets to discover the impact on my own body.
Through my books I hope to share this knowledge with you and to provide you with a good understanding of the diets and some novel and helpful tips to help you achieve your health and well being goals. Hopefully I can act as a filter for you as to what works and what is just a gimic (raspberry ketones for instance!).
If you will allow me, I would love the privilege of helping you towards your health goals.
Fair warning: I haven't actually tried any of these recipes and I'm vegetarian so I didn't read any recipes that sounded meat heavy.
There is a decent range of vegetarian options and also many that could be made vegetarian by just swapping the broth. Most* sound nice and there are some promising sounding flavour combinations. I like that recipes are scored by cost (based on American prices I believe) and by difficulty - it makes it easy to scan for something suitable. Macros are listed, as are ratings of what proportion of the calories come from fat which I imagine would be helpful if you were doing keto (I'm just in this for the soup!) Most recipes are easy. Stews are also included, as are side dishes and some low carb bread options to accompany.
*Although the no bean chilli which was just tomato paste, onion, pepper and seasoning sounded a bit depressing
There aren't any pictures in the Kindle version of this book so it's less of a cookbook and more a series of recipe cards.
The soup ingredients and directions are fine. Reading this made it really clear how easy it is to make soup and the book doesn't really have any hearty soups with a lot of veggies or mixed meats or complex seasoning flavor profiles. I guess it's fine for a beginner, but if you've ever made soup from scratch before, they you already know or could easily have stumbled on these recipes and combos on your own.
Not for me; Like finding grandmas old recipes in a box...
The recipes might be good but i believe strongly in presentation. And unfortunately the author seems to not have any idea what presentation is. So, i’ll just move on to someone who understands.
While I am still glad I got the book, it really was just ok. Several recipes use things like slow cooker and instant pots so maybe better if you use those appliances
