I Will Kiss You: Lots & Lots & Lots

Rate this book
A mother kisses her way through a rhymed love letter to her child in a brand-new read-aloud from Stoo Hample that's bound to become a bedtime classic.

I will kiss you everywhere...
on your fingers, on your hair,
on a chair on a stair....
on the floor, in the air.
And I'll kiss your teddy bear.

As every parent of a small child knows, the funny little games that find a favorite place in the everyday forge a bond that lasts forever. Now the inimitable author of THE SILLY BOOK captures a universal ritual with such infectious charm and humor it can't help but start its own tradition. Whether in scenes farmiliar or outlandish, whether planted on hats or knees or freezy noses, the kisses just waiting to be shared in this exuberant picture book are guaranteed to delight little listeners (lots and lots and lots).

What is Valentine's without LOTS OF KISSING? Tell the children that Stoo Hample is the "creator of this silly book" (just like it says on the front cover). Open the book to the end papers (which are pink) and ask them "what color is this?" PINK! Then ask them if anyone is wearing pink.

Two story performers can switch off reading every other thought. For instance...

Voice one: I will kiss you everywhere...
Voice two: on your fingers,
Voice one: on your hair, (to which one of the children in the group said "ewehhh")
Voice two: on a chair on a stair...
and so forth.

Natalie is such a kissable baby that I had to take this one out. I enjoyed the silly rhymes, but more so enjoyed the places where I could follow what the book was saying and give Natalie kisses. The illustrations were simple and pastel. It was fun to have a book about kisses versus just saying I love you.

This is a cute book for a young child but crosses boundaries with older elementary children. It is about the love of a mother or father and how they will kiss you anywhere and under any circumstances... Cute and rhyming.
