Read this to my kids. We didn't hate it, but it was really slow and anticlimactic. The references to Dawson Creek were cool (we currently live here). The explosion occurred in the last couple of chapters in the novel and we almost gave up before that, out of boredom. I feel there could be a whole book written about the explosion - it was definitely disappointing that it was almost irrelevant to the story.
