4.5 Stars!! I REALLY REALLY LOVED THE SILVER MASK! After being somewhat disappointed by The Bronze Key, I was growing afraid that I might have lost interest in the series all together but the ending of book three + this fantastic fourth installment has truly renewed my love for this wondrous middle grade fantasy series!

Book four in this series begins to take a dark turn. The issues Call, Tamara, and Jasper begin to deal with are deeper, more mature, and more sinister than ever before. I really e

This was short. Why are they all so short? I liked this one and I'm looking forward to the final book. The ending was so weird... What's going on? I liked Call's journey through this book, but the plot kind of hurt. I just liked Aaron so much.

Just finished book 3. Give me this one already? This will have spoilers for those who have not read the third book, so beware, you have been warned.

EDIT 8/09/2016
I don't think Aaron will stay dead. Perhaps he will die again at the end of

Wow! Such a story! Unexpected! Exciting! Fascinating! Mysterious! even a bit horrifying!
The ending hooked me again! I'm crying! (Magisterium endings were always unexpected & epic, & always my mouth fell open. I loved that feeling!)
That's not fair! (view spoiler)
I loved it!
I live for reading a great, cute, adventurous, exciting, believable middle grades! (or middle grades, I'm not old for them & still can enjoy

You know when you see a book from you favourite Author and you automatically want to read it?

This is simply a mini review for two reasons. One, I got my wisdom teeth out on Thursday and am still getting back on my feet fro it. Two, this is the fourth book in a series and since I enjoy keeping my reviews spoiler free a mini review was the best way to conduct this.

To start off; what a disappointment. I’ve been reading this for five days and it was in no way worth this. It was classic middle book syndrome where basically nothing happens. With

I'm not really sure what to even rate this. This by far was my least favorite book in the series. I was surprised and disappointed by some of the choices that the authors decided to make in this book. My final decision on this book will all be decided by how they end the next and final book. Hopefully everything will be better.
3.5 stars rounded up for a good finish.

It's been a few months since we listened to The Bronze Key and waited for The Silver Mask to be released. In that time my kids seemed to have lost a bit of their momentum with the series and their interest in listening to the audiobook in the car waned about halfway through. No matter, I thought, I'll just read the rest on my own.

Well as it turns out this book improved for me quite a bit by being read rather than listening to the audiobook. The story is qui

I started this series when it first came out and I stopped for a while because the previous book didnt hold my attention.

This book was similar. I am above the age of recommended so my opinion should not be taken for the younger crowd, they would probably love it.
I did however really enjoyed the friendships that were built upon. And the mystery and school for magic is always fun to read about.

There are spoilers

In this book, I could make a lot of connections with different characters. One example is when Call "successfully" brought back Aaron in one try when he didn't even think of the consequences. He had no idea that it was going to work but he still did it because he was under pressure. He didn't even do a test run. I can connect to this because I also don't think about the consequences when under pressure. For example, when the class is taking a test and everyone is finished with

Bulgarian review:

I have so much love for the 'Magisterium' series, for this world, these characters, this storyline... 'The Silver Mask' was for sure the best book so far, although i'm saying this for every new one in the series. They're just so good!!! They don't even feel like middle-grade, the plot is amazing, the twists, the atmosphere... Everything in the fourth book became much more darker than the previous ones, so much happened, there was a lot of
This is officially one of my favourite series. I knew it will be since the middle of the first one, but this book is just... OMG!
There is no proper word for the reaction I made at the end of the last chapter (cry from pure joy and relief... honestly... I cried).
I just love the characters, the world, the magic, the relathionships. I love how emotionally and morally complex it is.
Also, I always think that this is it, this is the end, nothing bad can happen anymore, but then BUMM! It proves it can
this was so fun! But I didn't enjoy it as much as the first three, I'm very excited for the last book! :)

“Don't take it personally," Call said. "Lots of people find me really annoying. It's not just you.”

I know many people don't like these books but for me they're fun and quick reads!
And I think The silver mask is one of the best books of the series.

I love Call and Aaron's friendship, it's always been my favorite aspect of the series.
They love each other and they don't care about each other's flaws. Plus, after that last sentence I have some hope for them!

So why did I give it three stars?

I really NEED to read this book. I am dying to know what happens to the characters.

I don't understand all of the negative reviews. The only real issue I had was that it was darker, and I missed the humor.

I think if these two books had some how been put together it would've been better but this at least didn't feel like a side quest.

Other than Chaos magic, which is mentioned but not actually shown we don't get much of the magical world in this one.

From the reviews I expected the romance to dominate the book but there were two small kisses and only a couple of chapters where

Wow, I genuinely loved this book. The quality of the books just seem to get better & better the further you get into the series ;) So many things were happening one after each other & it was never a bit boring in a way that the previous books were, when there was less happening.

This ending was by far the most cliffanger-ish of all the books so I’m glad I waited till the 5th book came out before re

2.5 stars: they did us so wrong

what was this book? cassie + holly did the fandom so wrong in this. legit no one asked for that forced hetero romance. not to mention, everyone was REALLY ooc (out of character) in this. call wasn't sassy, or angsty, he just fell flat and was shallow. tamara made some very questionable decisions, some she definitely wouldn't have made in the pervious books. Another one of my most awaited books. Finished reading it in one sitting a few hours ago but still I am feeling overwhelmed by the turn of the events in this fourth book in the Magisterium series. However, I do have a few things on mind that I want to say about this favourite series of mine.

People who love Harry Potter series are most likely to adore this series. I am not comparing these two or anything, and only two major things are common in the two series: magic school , a powerful villan thr

The third book ended with a cliff hanger that had me sad for 2 days?

Thereare were 3 main characters.
One died.
On went to jail on the pretense of killing him and being an evil overlord yada Yada yada.
The third didn't save the right one.

In short:

The whole thing was abrupt. The characters didnt have much feel to them.
And compared to the preevious books this was really slow paced and very short!

I feel like this one was better than The Bronze Key but at the same time worse. The story picked up, I really felt like the stakes were higher this time, even though I've discovered I care more about a wolf than anything else in this series. But it felt so rushed. Seriously, did this book have to be so short? It's not a crime. It was shorter than the rest but more action packed than any of them. And for that reason it felt too forced. Also don't even get me started on the relationship.
