I always knew my mother was a selfish human being but I never thought in a million years she would sell me to her boss just so she can get out of the business. I don't care how sexy Spencer Jerome is I will not be his play toy.

I been obsessed with one girl since she was sixteen and now that she is legal and in my sights thanks to her mother I don't plan on letting her slip through my fingers not this time.

One star for what might have been a good story had the author invested in a good editor.

The description of this story makes this sound really good -- albeit like others with the same plot line. Criminal boy (Spencer) has been in love with good girl (Thea) for years. When her mother offers to trade good girl for her debt(s), Criminal boy jumps at it. Now he won't let good girl go. And while that is the basic plot, it doesn't really match what one reads.

This is my first experience with Delia Petrano -- and most likely my last. The description for this 66-page story is better written than the story itself. The author loses points for horrible editing (grammar, punctuation, etc.) as well as for a scattered, disjointed writing style. What could be threads (snippets???) are started and glossed over. Points of view switch back and forth causing one to reread to figure out who's talking. Some plot points bring up questions that are never really answered. [I won't even go into detail about Thea wanting to be a baker (and who bakes "bostin cream" cupcakes -- yes, "bostin"). but is secretly a trained family (mafia) torturer/killer. Surprise!]

This is listed as book 1 of a seeming series (though it is also listed as My Good Luck Charm without that designation). There are other characters who could be featured, but I don't think I'll be reading any of them. Which brings me to the best thing about this story, NO CLIFFHANGER!

Save your time and money and pass this one by.

This was a mafia love story about a young girl who’s mother didn’t really want her and sold her off to Spencer,a mafia man and his brother. Thea was raised with them when she was younger but her mother took her away and then came back again, and was working for the brothers.
Her mother Jen was always up to no good. Playing both sides and trying to sell her daughter to the highest bidder. But Spencer wasn’t about to let this happen again. So when Jen said she wanted out and they could have Thea, Spencer said fine, go, but Thea was theirs now. But Spencer continued to keep a watch on Jen, he didn’t trust her. With good reason.
Spencer was in love with Thea and had been for many years and he wanted to marry her. So he bought her a ring and hoped she would agree to be his wife. After all they known each other for years, grew up together, would she say yes?

This was a good read with an interesting, complex storyline and compelling characters. I liked the entertaining blend of drama, suspense, danger, emotional turmoil, passion and love that filled the book. This is my frank, freely posted review.

Had potential but it was just too much going on with the flashbacks of how Jasper and Thea "joined" the family and then all the side stories(Jen's end-less dirty deeds, Jasper's shady ex, kids-kidnapping) it just didn't leave enough room for the main couple. It just seem like they just reunited and then picked up where they left off no romance nothing it was business as usual like they didn't just miss 4yrs together.

It’s interesting that a strong character like Thea could ever find herself being sold. She doesn’t know it but her mother has other plans. Spencer is more than happy to have Thea back in his life. He messed up and drove her away. Plus his instinct is to always protect her. I loved the interaction between Spencer and Thea. She surprises them all and I loved that about her.

Good storyline, but...

Have you heard of punctuation, like periods, commas, exclamation points. Enjoyed the story, but sentences need to be broken up some using said punctuation marks.

Nice story with HEA

I enjoyed this read but there are a few grammatical errors. I enjoyed the Mafia spin and the fact that Thea was a strong H. Nice quick read, 3.5 - 4 stars.
