This is a fun book and the 2nd in the Spectator series. It’s a quick read and I’m interested to see where book 3 goes...

I loved this follow-up to The Haunter--Alvey does not disappoint with her second book in the Sam the Spectator series! Sam is such an engaging character; Alvey clearly has not forgotten what it's like to be a teenager, because reading the book brought back vividly all those angsty teen emotions from when I was in high school haha. The dialogue is hilarious, the plot is compelling, and the world is so fully fleshed out that I'm convinced Bluebonnet, TX must be a real town. Questions are answered ...more

I enjoyed Sam the Spectator so much that I didn't think Ghostapalooza could match it. BUT IT DID. I was so happy to revisit Sam's world, family, and friends. In Ghostapalooza, Alvey adds new characters, new challenges, and new adventures. Honestly, I think Book Two is even more addictive. Is that even possible?

This was an even more entertaining romp than the debut book in the series, less so for the paranormal elements as for the human ones, particularly as we watch Sam negotiate a series of emotional challenges and learn about herself, her relationships, and the things she values most. It's a heartfelt, engaging story with memorable and highly relatable characters.
