When Donald J. Trump was elected president on Nov. 8, 2016, William Robinson - like many Americans - was dismayed. Robinson recalls, " I had a sinking feeling in my stomach because we had just elected a man to be the leader of the free world who ran the most hateful and violent presidential campaign that this country has seen in at least a couple of generations."

The author provided a copy of this book in exchange for a review.

These days, you can't swing a dead cat without hitting a trump-hater - yours truly included. The author of these poems taps into our collective anguish and bewilderment at finding ourselves at the mercy of trump - the coronavirus of american politics.

I must confess, it was difficult to read this book and re-live the whole trumpian nightmare. Ugly incident after ugly incident presented in first-person, rhythmic poetry that leaves yo

Most of the poems are written from the perspective of Trump, in the first

The Malignancy Presidency similarly ignites the reader's emotions as he examines this president's incompetence, bigo ...more

Disclaimer: I was offered a copy for an honest review.

IIn the intro, Robinson says he hasn't written a poem in years. I believe him. I enjoyed the subject matter but all the poems read very simplistically. There was no complexity in the form or structure, the rhyme scheme was consistently the same. These pieces would work much better as spoken word rather than in written form.

Written poetry allows for more nuance and play with words and structure but that didn't happen here. Hearing modern hip-h

I'm not a fan of this.
This might've worked better as an audio or spoken word.
