Brian and Marcie were supposed to live happily ever after--they repeated vows that stated that very sentence. So no one, especially Brian, could have predicted that Marcie would file for divorce. It was difficult to fight the situation, finding that all his possessions were packed and waiting by the door when he came home from work that Thursday evening.

Where to start with this review..... I have so many emotions running through me as I decide what to write. There was so much going on and I was so invested in these couples. My heart went out to Brian and Kate because they did nothing to deserve the treatment they received from their partner. The way they were thrown to the curb like they were trash was not called for and I hated their partners for doing that. This is one emotional ride that will have you laughing and crying and screaming at you ...more

This is why I hate romances with ex's drama - read Sammi's fantastic review -

Also, it is mentioned that Hero has a kid with the ex and he was fighting to get his family back. How is it a romance when hero (and heroine?) are hung up on their ex's for so much of the story? Nope. not for me. Pass.
I stepped into 1247 Sycamore Street and devoured this tale. Congrats Julieann!
From the moment I started reading this book I was utterly charmed by the main couple and their sweet and slow burning relationship. I was charmed by their kind hearts and the comfort they found just by being with each other. Kate and Brian are just two average folks who were betrayed by love and who ultimately start over in a journey that had them finding themselves along with acceptance in each other’s arms.

Kate Moore grew up in a small town, embraced it because of the closeness to others as we

Unfinished by Julieann Dove
She didn't realize she lost her voice until a stranger gave her back her heart. There will be tissues, but out of heartache comes hope and Unfinished never gives up on that. Marcie thought she was living the dream, until her happy ending imploded all around her. A chance encounter could be the push she needs to begin anew. Yet when the pain of the past resurfaces, can her new beginning survive the fallout? Dove takes readers from angsty to inspired in the most capti

I personally didn't like how the story started out with the wife cheating and having the husband move out. If she wanted out she should have up and left. Personally, she was just awful and very dislikable and made me not want to read the entire story because based on the synopsis the whole story has cheating elements and awful exes which I am not okay with.

I didn't find out about the other characters and their story or relationship. I'm sure it's just as dreadful though.

Basically, I didn't care

Julieann Dove completely blew me away!

This is my second read from this author and oh my, Unfinished turned out to be so much more than I had expected. The blurb was very grabby, making me want to read it long before it was even released. And then after I started reading it, I realized real quickly, the story was going to break me. Brian and Kate were very well-developed characters that I wanted to hug, I wanted to be their friend and tell them both to not give up hope. Not so much for Marcie and

I loved the easy friendship that developed between Brian and Kate. This is a clean romance without any sex scenes. Both are getting over complete heartbreak from their exs. Brian's life is a complete hot mess since he's not only dealing with Marcie's depression, alcoholism, but also stepping up to care for their daughter. A daughter he's no longer allowed to see when he wants since Marcie wants a divorce. But what happens when Marcie finds out that Kate is in the picture?

Kate thought she had found her Prince Charming and that they were going to live happily ever after until she asked for more than he was willing to give, and he couldn’t get out the door fast enough. Hindsight is 20/20 and she realizes that he never fully incorporated her into his life and her next door neighbor, Brian, became her support system as he was going through a breakup himself.

Brian’s marriage hasn’t been happy for a while, but he is willing to keep trying for the sake of their daughter

I received an advanced copy to read in exchange for an honest review.

This is a well written story that highlights just how complicated relationships can be. I liked that it was an honest in how hard it is when long term relationships end.

Brian and Marcie were happy married until an accident torn them and their family apart. Brian is shocked when Marcie announces he needs to leave. Brian is devastated and find an apartment 10 minutes away so he can still see his daughter Ellen often.

Unfinished is a roller coaster. It had me rolling everywhere and feeling every possible emotion in existence. Tears were shed, people. And I ran out of tissues a week ago, so I didn't have that privilege. But I genuinely loved Brian and Marcie's story. It was a wild, emotional ride that I would totally take again.
This is the second book I have read from the lovely Julieann Dove. And I am officially hooked. I need more of your books!

Brian and Marcie have been together for years but tragic circumstances change their story. Marcie decides they need time apart. Brian is shocked but assumes it’s only temporary. He finds a place and meets his neighbor Kate. Will Marcie take Brian back? Can they go back to before tragedy? How will Kate effect Brian’s choices? My first book by this author but looking forward to more.

This is beautiful story focused on love and a second chance.
It is the type of story that clutches you at once and doesn't release you until you get to the end - then you find yourself pining over the fact that the book has ended.

I loved how the relationship unfolded so we could see these amazing characters grow in ways they never expected.

Unfinished by Julieann Dove is an emotional story that will tear at your heartstrings and hoping that the characters can find the happiness that they so desperately want and deserve. Brian and Marcie had the perfect family and were so in love, until a tragedy they never expected rocked their world. Brian yearns to have his wife back, his wife who has been living at the bottom of a bottle for the last two years while he takes care of their adorable daughter and tries to put their lives back toget ...more

I’m going to start off with what I struggled with when it came to the story and that is I felt like most of the time I was being told what happened and not seeing it. There would be time jumps and then bam, we are told big things that happened during those time jumps. I found that it really annoyed me and made it to where I couldn’t really connect with the story. I liked Brian and Kate well enough and their romance was unique but being able to be in the story and just experience it with the char ...more

This book took me longer to read than I thought it would, as I had to put it down and walk away from time to time. Brian and Marcie lost a child and that loss had, as you can imagine, a profound effect on their lives, and finally on their marriage. Instead of bringing the two closer together (as it did in the case of my husband and me), they grew further apart with until Marcie told Brian to find another place to live. This book was so beautifully written, I could feel their pain, a pain that ne ...more

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. Overall, I really enjoyed this book. This book is about two people, Kate and Brian, who find each other after their relationships have fallen apart. While living in the same apartment building they develop a friendship while sharing meals that begins to turn into more, but what happens when those who broke your heart want you back? Who will they chose? The writing style was great. The author had a way of allowi ...more

4.5 Stars!

The first few chapters are difficult to read, and not because they aren’t good. They depict a marriage in shambles after a devastating loss so realistically that it made my heart break for Brian.

Brian is not just a “nice” guy. He is probably the ultimate good guy. My heart hurt for everything that he had gone through and continued to struggle with so selflessly. I honestly detested Marcie. She had no redeeming qualities in my opinion and she was brutal to Brian without any care to how

When I first started this book, I was really enjoying it, thinking it would get at least a 4 star rating. Unfortunately, it lost me about midbook. It's kind of hard to describe what happened, but it started to really drag out. To the point of almost not wanting to complete it. I read a book very similar to the part of this one where a fake couple goes to Montana to meet family so maybe this is why it almost lost me. Brian and Kate did the same thing. I felt like I was reading another book inject ...more

To have a traumatic event happen in your life is devastating. To have a traumatic event happen in your marriage is not only devastating but sometimes difficult to move on from in the marriage. Marcie, I get why you blamed Brian. I get why you turned to alcohol. Unfortunately, Brian kept the family together and you weren't there emotionally. Brian stood there and did everything possible trying to make their marriage work. Sometimes, you can't come back from a traumatic event. How do you move on? ...more

This is the first book I’ve read by Julieann Dove, but it won’t be my last. Unfinished is the story of how Brian and Kate meet and what happens afterwards. Brian moves into an apartment upstairs, after his wife, Marcie, kicks him out. Kate lives in the apartment downstairs and helps him move his stuff in. They become friends and he hopes to get back with his wife. Kate still has hope of getting back with Oliver, her boyfriend that went to Italy without her. This is the first book I have read from this author. Wow. Gripping interesting heart wrenching. All the emotions in a great storyline. Brian doesn't know what to do anymore. For the past two years his life with his wife Marcie has been a living hell. She finally tells him to move out. He moves not far away and meets Katie.
Katie is dealing with her own grief in a way. Her crap of a boyfriend left her for Italy. She ends up moving and taking on a new job. These two have issues all of their own. But

This book surprised me by how much I enjoyed it. I don’t usually read books with this setting but I was looking thru some free ARC books and decided to try something different. I like my books to be more light cotton candy. So this book was different for me. It got real and the characters went thru some really bad times, some soul searching times of break up, loss, and divorce. And yet I really enjoyed the underlining message of hope and personal growth. I was wavering near the end, wondering, h ...more

This is a friends to lovers story. Brian is having a hard time coming to grips with the end of his marriage following a tragedy. His wife is done with him and makes him move out of the house. His new neighbor is Kate, whose relationship also recently ended. I really like how their relationship really stays friends, even when they are having issues--especially him. There are some real moments of sadness and disconnect.

I feel like I almost need to start this review with a disclaimer; I am a tough reviewer. I have high expectations and high standards and I hold every book I read to the same standard of quality. That being said while I did like Unfinished, I didn't love it. And believe me, I really wanted to love it.

Oh gosh! This book is so full of emotions that it was heavy reading it. I know it’s a good book when I feel totally in tune with the characters especially during their moments whether it be triumph or perhaps heartbreak. It really was painful to read, not in a bad way. I loved how it showed the other side of relationships, the messy, excruciating ones. It was wonderful to see how the characters grew and tried to figure out their emotional state and self-realizations.

The book is a good sweet romance read. The story has a good story line. The characters are good, believable, and they have good chemistry. The story is a good friends to lovers romance read. The story is an enjoyable second chance at love read.
