When the girl next door returns home as a millionaire to face the farmer who never lost hope, she's caught between the man of her past and the man meant for her future.

Adopted as an infant, Ireland Leighton grew up in the heart of the Midwest. After inheriting millions from her biological parents, she is determined to help others any way she can. The only string is a business engagement with another millionaire. Ireland returns to Iowa years later to plan her brother’s tropical wedding. The festivities would be easier if her sexy ex-boyfriend stayed out of reach and her future wasn’t already planned.

Time suppressed his feelings for the girl next door, but Gideon Taggart isn’t about to let Ireland escape again. Farmer by day, veterinarian by choice, his second chance with his first love is far from easy. He soon discovers that no matter how much he loves Ireland, she’ll always choose her family over a future with him.

Oceans Away is book two in Skye McNeil’s stand-alone contemporary romance series, Atlas. Each book contains a millionaire to envy, snort-worthy comedy, and visits to many beautiful cities in the world. Yes, all of that, plus each novel ends with a fabulous HEA.

Grab your tickets now for the rollercoaster of romance with a twist! The filthy rich guy is a kind-hearted, self-assured, woman and the downhome gal is a pig-headed, financially insecure, man! Skye McNeil’s OCEANS AWAY proves that you may not be able to go home to find things exactly the same, but if you really want something enough, it just may be worth the wait.

Ireland Leighton knew what it was to have parents who loved her, a solid upbringing and a sense of caring for those less fortunate. Adopted, Ireland didn’t know her birth parents, but they left her millions of dollars and her new path in life was set. She became a talented businesswoman, a generous donor and an international magnet for the paparazzi.

Her one regret as leaving behind the man she loved, Gideon Taggart, farmer, veterinarian and a man determined to keep his feet firmly planted in the Iowa soil. When Ireland comes home after years away, she becomes the “planner” for her brother’s wedding and avoiding Gideon is impossible.

I loved Ireland, witty, charming, smart and sassy with a heart of gold and a head for good business. Gideon kind of made it hard for me to like him, with his fragile male ego, secrets that really had no reason to be secrets and a rather large chip on his shoulder. Enter the charming and wealthy competition and what a fabulous read!

Light enough to laugh with, this quick read makes love seem possible for everyone!

This is only the second of Skye's books I have read and I think she's going to become an automatic one-click for me. She writes stories that instantly pull you in and pull at your heart strings as well as frustrate you to no end with how stubborn some people are and then right back to all the gushy, mushy stuff. I absolutely adored Ireland and Gideon and kept rooting for them but then I kind of liked Mason and wasn't sure how I felt but in the end it ends as I would like it to and how it's meant to. If you want an extremely well written, emotional roller coaster that pulls out all the stops and makes you feel all kinds of things, this is the book for you!!!

This is book 2 in the series, however, it can be read as a stand alone and the reader will have no problems starting here. This book takes the reader all over the world and gives them a glimpse of what everlasting love looks like.

The plot is fun, fast moving and unique. The characters encourage the reader to always strive for their goals and they are relatable to the reader. This book gives us Ireland and Gideon and the struggle to move on because they both know that they were meant for each other. Ireland is based in the caribbean and far from the corn fields of Gideon, but true love it meant to be!

We go on a roller coaster ride of emotion, and we literally fly through the story. The reader is zooming through the pages of the story at a breath taking pace and it never slows down. The reader frantically turns the pages of the book trying to see what is going to happen while at the same time never wanting the story to end.

This is a must read and a must read now! Bump this one up to the top of your TBR list, you won't be sorry!!

**A copy of this book was provided by the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.**

I know that I say this over and over, but I honestly do squeal with delight when a request to sign up for an author that I love comes across my email. I had recently read her first book in this series and absolutely loved it. I hoped when I had finished that one and it was labeled as #1 that a second book would be coming soon.

Ireland was the girl next door until she learned her biological family is rich and she is an heiress. When I started this book I was a little worried after reading the blurb that it would be a girl next door falls for the boy next door and then turns rich and leaves boy next door. While that is kind of what happened. However, the story is so much deeper than that. She comes home after 6 years away, her brother is getting engaged and his party is just around the corner. The boy next door, Gideon is still the boy next door, albeit sexier and time has been very good for him. As time goes on they realize that they still have feelings for each other. They start off right where they left off. They share a kiss and things heat up from there. The whole story I really wanted them to get together.

I loved this book. The author literally kept me guessing if they would get their happily ever after with each other until the very end. The characters were lovable and I found myself yelling at Gideon when he wasn’t taking Ireland back at the end. He loved her but was just too proud or something. It felt somewhat out there at times with what was happening. Granted, I know, that the rich can fall in love or back in love with a plain jane, it was just the way that it was written that had me a little ehhh. It wasn’t enough to take 9away from the story because I still really loved this book. The author described Barbados and France in such a way that I could see it in my mind. I will definitely be waiting for the 3rd book in the series to come out, that is if there is one!! I will be keeping my eye out for that wonderful email for sure.

I really enjoyed this book!! Oceans away is the first book by Skye McNwil that I have read!! I enjoyed it so much I went back and read the first book in this series!!
This is Ireland and Gideon's story!! I assumed that this would be normal romance book but boy was I wrong!! This book has a fantastic storyline and amazing characters that grab you and pull you in and your hooked!! I couldn't put it down and read it in one sitting!! It was so good that I was up till 3am just so I could finish it!!
I am not giving away any of the story or spoilers as I truly believe you need to read this book for yourself!!
This is a second chance at love story, but not at all like one you have read!! This book is an emotional rollercoaster ride with ups and downs but in this case the highs are amazing but then it comes down so hard it crashes!! There were moments I was so made I wanted to throw things and tell, then there were moments when I was crying!! There are amazing secondary characters that come along and bring some serious humorous moments to balance out the drama!! I highly recommend this book you will not be disappointed!! I can't wait for the next book in this series!! A definite 5 star read!!

Gideon & Leighton are romantic gold! She's a millionaire who has come for a visit, while Gideon is a farmer content with his life on their island. For whatever reason, this is all I feel like telling you about this story, because I feel like going in blind is better to be honest. There's so much emotional upheaval in this story that I really thought that my heart would break, the push & pull would make me go mad, and yet, it was impossible to put down, so basically, it hurt so good with all the extreme emotions. Gotta love those crazy secondaries who added more to the story, while adding in, a humorous factor that I needed to get a break from all angst, so obviously it hurt so good. I couldn't turn the pages quickly enough as I needed to know how it was all going to pan out to be honest, and yet, never wanting the story to end, which I know makes me complicated. I'm not giving away anymore because I truly believe that Oceans Away is better going in blindly as I said above, so I encourage everyone one click this beautiful second chance story! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

First, I want to thank Skye McNeil for providing me with this book so I can bring you this review.

Skye McNeil is back again with a fun read in Oceans Away book number 2 in the Atlas Series.

I totally adore the creativity in the names that Skye picked for her characters. For example, she picked Zaviar, Ireland, Gideon. The dogs names she chose were unique too-Diesel and Dallas.

I loved how Skye made a point thing may change when you return home again but you will always have your memories. Ireland returned home to find her room was still how she remembered it. Skye painted a beautiful picture of her surroundings for her readers.

I could understand where Ireland was coming from when she said-her heartache kept her from moving on. Getting attached to someone again wasn’t something she was interested in.

My heart went to Ireland whose brother only gets married once but why did it have to be to her college roommate?! That was an interesting storyline.

This book was so amazing to read. I loved every minute of it. I was reading and thinking this is going to be another romance book but wow what a surprise I got when I read this book.

We get to meet Ireland and Gideon and wow just wow. We get a glimpse into their life and they grew up in a small mid west town. Gideon has love for his farm and Ireland has this love and desire to help others as she was adopted at a young age.

Then one day Ireland's biological parents die and leave her millions of dollars but their is one hitch to it that she must marry into money as well to get her money. She gets engaged to a millionaire and starts her new life. Then she is called back home to help out with her brothers wedding when she gets back to the small town everything she thought she knew is about to change.

This book blew me away. I was so emotional throughout the hole story. Skye McNeil has got herself a masterpiece on her hands. The author created a story that was totally emotional, a rollercoaster with an end that will blow you away. I think this book will be one all romance lovers love and will keep reading over and over again. The chemistry and emotion between these amazing people was felt from the minute she stepped foot back in town, until the very last page.

Gideon and Leighton have a past that is hard to overcome. Together, they figure out what life can be like now and the muddle their way through all the sexual chemistry, emotions and feelings. Join this wild ride. You won’t regret it.

While this is not my typical genre, there were parts of this book that I did enjoy. I like it when books jump right in rather than drag the beginning of the story out for too long. Oceans Away does the jumping in, for sure. This book was fun and entertaining in a lot of ways.

Now, there were a few things that I didn't love. First of all, and I know that this is a typical trope in romance books and movies, but it seriously gets on my nerves when there are constant misunderstandings and stubbornness keep the characters from saying how they truly feel over and over again. It's just really annoying to me.

Like I said already, this book genre isn't the normal book I read so I may not be the one to ask about it. For me, it was enjoyable but not my favorite book ever. Still, I'm glad it was sent my way!

In February I read the first book in The Atlas Series ‘Hearts Abroad’. I definitely enjoyed that book! So when the author asked if I was willing to read the second book in the series, I simple couldn’t resist.

In ‘Oceans Away’ we meet Ireland. Ireland grew up on a farm in Iowa, next to her first love Gideon. After becoming very rich, Ireland is coming home for the first time in almost five years. Now, all those years later Ireland doesn’t expect to find Gideon even more attractive than she did before. But the farmer got tattooed and even more sculpted, and the best thing.. He never forgot Ireland. Not for a second.

What I loved about ‘Oceans Away’ was the way it felt like I had known Ireland and Gideon for a long time. This story seems to start right in the middle of things. And although this confused me a little in the beginning, it also made me feel like I had known these characters for a while.

Ireland is a strong woman, who became very rich after becoming an heiress. Yes, she is a little spoiled but mostly Ireland tries to do good with her money. Gideon is a hardworking guy who is determined to get his parents farm back to good health. These characters really where made for each other. And I loved their chemistry. Right from the beginning you just knew they where meant for each other, and I loved getting to know them and feeling there romance start again after all those years.

But there were also some things about this book I didn’t particular like. For one, Ireland and Gideon do a lot of thinking for each other. Instead of asking what the other person is thinking, they already have these incorrect assumptions about each other. Frustrating really! They would have saved a lot of time and heartbreak if they would only talk to each other.

Another thing that I didn’t really like was the way they seemed to connect, and end things again many times. And sometimes I wouldn’t even get why. There was also a lot of traveling back and to Iowa, which wasn’t always that clear and confused me a little. I would read thinking they were in Iowa, and they would be in NYC for example.

But overall ‘Oceans Away’ was definitely a fun read.

Original review posted on my blog From Ink to Paper

I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is my second chance of reading one of Skye McNeil books and I was not disappointed. I loved her first in this series and this one I loved just as much. It is easy to say that hers are ones that I read really fast and am always sad when it is time for me to put it down; and when they end!

I like that the series has a different story for each book because it is just fun to read different love stories. I liked that this book wasn’t just only about the romance, but had a storyline behind it. It had romance and some great humor in it.

The two leading characters were written well, I have to say that I was more rooting for Gideon than Ireland, which is rare, but I felt that he knew right away how much he was in love with her and was more willing to try and make things right. I think too I was rooting for him because it seemed that Ireland kept holding back and was just thinking about her money and stuff and didn’t really think about how it was her adoptive parents that had really influenced her life more. However I still really liked her and was rooting for her to finally just let herself go and get what she wanted. I loved Toby her assistant he made me laugh throughout the book. I thought the other supporting characters in the book were well written and the banter between all of the characters in the book flowed nicely and just their whole story together worked well.

I thought the plot was well written, it flowed pretty well, there were a few times I didn’t know that Ireland had flown home or was back with her family until a little bit into the chapter but then you knew what was going on. I was glad that there was the threat of a love triangle happening, but that it really didn’t become a huge plot point in the book, that it was more you knew it had the potential to be there but always had this feeling of how the ending was going to be.

Overall I loved the book and was sad it was over, I wanted it to keep going. I did like that at the end you get a little peak at what their future holds. I definitely recommend this book and the first in the series.
