I have a love/ hate relationship with this book.

Jake is popular, plays football and enjoys parties. Unfortunately his brother was involved in an accident and Jake carries guilt around with him. His best friend Chris Howell tries to keep him on the straight and narrow but Jake does like a Beer or two.

Haley is Chris’s sister and off limits. She has a crush on Jake that she hasn’t even shared with her bestie. Jake and Haley end up spending some time together and they have a connection. This is a

When I got the opportunity to be a part of the blog tour for this book, I didn't doubt for a second. First: it's an Entangled (Teen) book and I basically love Everything they publish so there's that.. And two: the synopsis of this YA contemporary with sport elements just looked like it'd be a book that I'd end up loving.

I was happy to receive an ARC of this book and being able to read and review it, so thanks a lot to Entangled Teen for providing me with an ARC and for giving me the chance to ge

To say that I’m reading ‘The Crush Collision’ to get my rare YA fix is partially correct, but the truth is probably closer to the fact that I do like the best friend’s sister/brother kind of trope, which throws in a hint of the forbidden or the unrequited.

‘The Crush Collision’ follows this particular trajectory. Embroiled in his own turmoil, Jake’s grades and social life are suffering and with alcohol as a constant companion, all he can see in front of him is football, his spiralling life…and a

The Crush Collision is the second installment of the Southern Charmed series. While it shares the same small town life and character set, it can easily be read independently of the series as a standalone. However, the emotional connection might have a better payoff if the series is read in order, since the reader would be familiar to the se

*Note. The Crush Collision (Southern Charmed, #2) by Danielle Ellison was kindly provided by publisher via NetGalley, in exchange for an honest review. So I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is a book that is kind off hard to rate for me, because it wasn't exactly what I expected to read, I was looking for relaxing, quick, light, sweet and cute romance read, however, this was a bit depressing, sad and very emotional book.

Haley has had a crush on Jake since she was twelve. The problem is that he’s best friends with her twin brother Chris. Plus, her best friend has already called dibs on him. Unbeknownst to Haley, Jake reciprocates her feelings, but Chris has made her off-limits. What will happen when senior year sees them growing closer and closer? One thing’s for sure - someone’s going to get hurt.

The first chapter is confusing because too many characters are introduced at once with no context. The characters ar

The Crush Collision is a standalone book that is a second in the series. I did not read the first one, and I do not notice anything that I may have missed in the first one. Although now I'd like to read the first book haha.

The story alternates point of view between Jake, the star football, and Haley, who is the twin sister of Jake's best friend.

There were things I loved about this book and things I questioned.

First off, the romance was sweet. Haley and Jake have known each other for most of thei

I liked The Crush Collision by Danielle Ellison, a YA romance from Entangled. All of the characters were well-drawn with no stereotypical mean girl or douche guy who is usually present in a high school romance.

Adding in Jake’s involvement with sick children because of his mandatory community service was a good touch because it allowed Jake to grow but also showed his sensitive, kind side that he doesn’t show when playing football or hanging out with the guys.

Haley was a sweet, wallflo

I just want to say I enjoyed this book. A lot! There are parts of the storyline that I wasn't always comfortable with. Those are probably more the Mom side of my brain talking then anything else. First there is Jake's abuse of alcohol especially given his family's painful history. Second is the fact that Haley and her best friend are both crushing on the same guy = Jake. Yet since Haley has never told anyone I guess that really shouldn't be an issue. I have to admit though both these issues are ...more

Retribution. That's what I have to say about this book because Haley and Jake both like each other, but there are truckloads of things stopping them from being frank/honest about their feelings for each other. The Crush Collision is cute, on the shorter side, and really sweet to read. I think this is the perfect summer read.

Thank you to Entangled Teen and NetGalley for the chance to read this book. ♥

Super cute YA book. This is the tale of finding yourself after grief, letting other help you but not be your crutch. The characters were great and the book was awesome, there is solid writing behind this story and all it's characters, The chemistry that makes the characters click is evident, and it was just a flat out good story, I thoroughly enjoyed. This story is told in alternating views.

The Crush Collision by Danielle Ellison is the 2nd book in the Southern Charmed series, and a wonderful book. It is a sweet, fun, and delightful YA contemporary romance. I love this genre, even though I am far from a young adult. There is something so innocent about first loves. Haley Howell has always had a crush on Jake, her brother's off limits best friend. When life and community service throw them together, sparks fly, but what will happen when her brother finds out. I found this book to be ...more

It’s been a while since I’ve read Entangled Teen Crush books and I’ve honestly really missed everything about these adorable stories. Okay, so they’re a bit predictable, mushy and cheesy, but in the best possible ways that will make you smile, laugh, feel young and giddy, and sometimes even cry. They’re delightful to read, entertaining, and wonderfully affecting. The Crush Collision was no exception and I fell in love with the story, the relationships, the characters and being back in Culler.

Isn’t the cover super adorable . It has perfectly pictured the couple in the book . Thank you Entangled Teen for providing me with an E-ARC. So I have always been a huge fan of Entangled Teen’s books because they are super adorable and just take about 2-3 hours to finish which is good for a person like me who likes finishing books in one sitting but at the same time I am not a huge fan of falling in love with your brothers best friend romance arc . So it was the cute cover and the immense trust ...more

First off, I live in Southeast Texas where football is king. I have 8 football season passes for my family of 5 and no high school-er on the team. As a matter of fact, we are the last family that should be at a high school football game considering my kids are action sports athletes... but alas, we love it! #itsagreatdaytobeapirate

Overall I had a hard time reading this book. There are two main characters, Jake and Haley, and I just don't feel like I could connect to either of them, and since this is a character driven romance with minimal plot, I just fell like the book didn't work for me. Jake was a very unlikeable character, one who had a terrible thing happen to his family (due to his drinking and poor decision making skills) and then he just turned into a raging alcoholic who needed to drink to get through the day- ke ...more

I've really enjoyed this series so far. Small town premise, YA young love/first love. Written very sweet with poignant feelings shown by the main characters. I really fell in love with Jake! He truly had a heart of gold. Dealing with dark issues regarding his brother's accident and feelings of guilt and not living up to expected potential but he still lets himself love, still opens his heart to people. He's not just some jock

This is #2, in the Southern Charmed series. This can be read as a standalone novel. For reader enjoyment, and to avoid spoilers, I recommend reading this series in order.

Haley has been in love with her brother's best friend for years. When they have more in common during the school year - they end up spending time together. Can she keep it a secret from her own BFF who thinks she is in love with Jake?

Jake is finding this the worst year of his life. The only thing he looks forward to right now is

The Crush Collision by Danielle Ellison a five-star read that will warm even the coldest of hearts. This is the second novel in the Southern Charmed series, and they can be read as stand-alone as I haven’t read the first novel and don’t feel like I missed out, I will be going back to read the first one as I am sure Georgia May has a great story to tell. I enjoyed The Crush Collision because of it as all the elements of a young adult contemporary story. This genre is what got me reading in the first back in the day. (Nope not telling when then you could figure out my age.) I enjoyed getting to know the characters and how they finally got together, especially when characters can change other characters for the better. I didn’t like certain characters in the story and how they reacted to the relationship betw

I had some issues with this one but it was still a good read. It seemed that from Jake's point of view that it was a sudden interest in Haley, let's say way more sudden than Haley's attraction to Jake. Chris and Abby's extreme reactions, first one way and then another, gave me whiplash and felt like it was just written that way for drama even though it didn't have to be that extreme. Jake's issues were realistic and I liked how he was not perfect in working through them. It was also nice to see ...more

The book wasn't perfect, the characters certainly aren't, but who amongst us is? I always like the brother's best friend romance trope, as well sports-themed books. This book was good, not great, although I read it all in one sitting.
