If you're after a smutfest, look no further!
Heavily drenched in erotic romance clichés, The Unconventional Mistress follows the whirlwind affair - AKA, the non-stop sexfest - between panty-melting billionaire Jona and confident plus-sized designer Stephanie.
When Jona lays eyes on Stephanie at a charity event, while she's walking the catwalk in her personally designed lingerie, he becomes a man obsessed. He has to have her, immediately, so he drops five million for charity and claims her for the evening.
One raunchy night turns into two, and so on and so on, as Jona and Stephanie become entangled in each other's lives on a permanent level.
This could have been a lot more than it was. Instead of focusing on character/relationship growth, the story mostly just centres on the sexual dynamic between the two MCs. It's very possessive and somewhat aggressive at times, with Jona being a little too much - and I'm not referring to his fourteen and a half inches either. Seriously, the dude was a little too intense for me, but it seemed to work for sassy Steph, who thrived on revving Jona up into a sexual frenzy.

3.5 - I really, really enjoyed this story! The only thing that kept me from giving this book a higher rating was the lack of dialogue and interaction between MCs throughout the book.
We only read about their interactions after the fact, rather than actually experiencing their conversations and getting a real feel of both MCs falling for each other and getting to know one another. If we would've gotten more of that, this book would've been perfect! Also, the lack of dialogue left a real big gap for me trying to get a sense of who they are and what their personalities are actually like.
With all that said, it's still a real sexy book, with a plus size heroin (Yay!) and overall a pretty good read.
Also, I'd like to say that the dong on the guy in this book is longer than the longest penis recorded in History by an inch (had to google it just to wrap my mind around that beast)... so yea, author may have gone a bit far there. Lol

I think what I liked about this book was that I could relate to Stephanie to an extent. I was always the BBW who was constantly told that you have such pretty eyes and a pretty face if you would only lose 20 pounds or lose 25 pounds. However, that being said Stephanie seemed to have such amazing self-worth yet underneath, she just wants to be loved by somebody and that’s where Jonas comes in. Jonas never saw himself with someone like Stephanie but he’s mesmerized by her and can’t keep away from her.
What I love about Jordan’s books are that they crack me up and make me laugh and even though it might have a little bit of a serious tone at times her language and her descriptions make me just roll on the floor laughing and this didn’t disappoint at all.

Jordan Silver has always been one of my one-click authors, but this story is different. Yes, it has all the usual Silver suspects: an over the top alpha, a likeable heroine, hot sex, “anaconda” anatomy (like only Jordan can write) and a story that makes you swoon. What I found different about this book was how I related to it... Unfortunately, as a bigger woman, society often teaches you that you can’t or won’t get the hot guy. That you won’t get the fairytale, happily ever after. But this book allows you to see a strong, plus size heroine get just that - the hot guy and the happily ever after! What a wonderful way to spend several hours, lost in this world where you can see yourself in the character, getting what you want out of life! Thank you Jordan for the pleasure that is reading one of your books!

I like the writing material but the author has problems with transition. She writes so quickly that you have to figure out what’s happening sometimes. Where are they now? Who is he talking with now? And mostly we want to have a nice smooth transition while we’re reading from chapter to chapter , throughout the different events in the books.. in one paragraph he could be talking to someone in one location and by the time the paragraph is over he is talking to somebody new in a different place.
Also, the writing could be flushed out a bit more. The author can tell you more about what the hero is thinking. you need the words and thoughts to have a greater impact on the actions.

Okay, let me start by saying I love the way Ms. Silver writes her Alpha men! Her first novels had me waiting for the next one to drop. But something changed and it was or seemed to me a different style of writing. But she is BACK! And Jonas was having no of it! He never showed up fickle. He was direct, no other female to cloud up the passion building with him and Stephanie. I Lee ally like how she was confident and strong. Yes as we all have insecurities when we are young it didn’t take over her character. She loved herself and it made her more sexy and attractive to Jonas. Solid read and the sex is super steamy as only Ms. Silver can deliver!

Jonas is just the right string alpha male and is cleverly matched with the gorgeous voluptuous Stephanie, the perfect BYE with just enough attitude to keep him interested and on his toes. This is a fast moving HEA with no cheating (so don't be out off by the implication of the title). This book as said is fast moving and explicit but not over the top and just the right length allowing you to keep reading too the end without losing too much sleep, well at least not enough to leave you too sleep deprived. I'm definitely tempted to read more by this author and if her other books are as good as this then it'll be worth it. Happy reading!

I’m all for the steamy reads, but damn! Can I get a little plot action some character development going on? This is not a romance novel it’s borderline smut/ erotica. Lol Again, I am here for it but come on the book has to flow and not be all about his 14.5 inch dick and her being pounded until it’s sore and raw. Like there was no epilogue. The final chapter was, “oh were pregnant and yeah we got married somewhere in between that and hey we’re currently pregnant but still fucking like rabbits!” 👀Really?! I have referred to several authors as book crack and Ms Silver is one of them. Her style might not be for everyone but she always, always sucks me into her stories and I don't want to put them down for anything! Her male characters can be overbearing, arrogant, controlling, possessive, some of them all that at once. Her female characters can be sassy, sweet, stubborn, and shy and usually give her man a run for his money. Jonas and Stephanie meet by chance at a fashion show, one she didn't want to be at. Things escalate and suddenly they are completely addicted to each other. I didn't want to come up for air on this one so I just stayed glued to my e-reader and ignored the real world. Fantastic read and it will definitely be one I re-read often!

I really enjoy a Jordan Silver book, but this one started out a little slow. I wasn't sure if I wanted to keep reading. I'm glad that I did. Jonas and Stephanie were a good couple. He knew what he wanted and went after it.
I was glad that Jonas didn't listen to what his mother said and he really didn't care about what she thought. Also, I really liked Stephanie's dad. He didn't want what Stephanie thought he did. He just wanted her to be happy.
I was a little disappointed in the end. It needed a better epilogue.

Excellent! Big girls rule.
I loved this book. Being plus size myself, I understand Stephanie's angst. People are so judgemental. Guys feel like they are doing us a favor by paying us any attention. Then that one guy comes along, just like Jonas and it's hard to trust. Jordan Silver got it right. She really caught the battle we face in this story, plus gave us a hero we can love and respect. This one's for us plus size girls. You'll love it

They are both taken with each other but secrets and misunderstandings can get in the way, the ending felt slightly rushed but didn’t take away from the story, I also didn’t understand why it is called unconventional mistress.

Nice short read
I really liked the heroine in this book. She was strong, confident and funny. This book could have been so much better if more depth was added to it. The hero was great. At the beginning I had doubts that he was an alpha male but boy was I wrong! He was a fantastic jealous and possessive alpha.
It's such a shame this wasn't a proper full book because I loved the plot.

Mmmm
Mmmm, I don’t know about this one. I am kinda on the fence about it. On one hand the smexy times are wicked hot. That’s why the 3 stars instead of 2, but on the other hand it’s a bit boring with soooo much inner dialogue and it wasn’t as entertaining as this author usually is. I absolutely live this author and have enjoyed many of her books, but I just wasn’t feeling this one.
