descriptionThis cover is bloody AWFUL which is really surprising as Miz Blake usually has very good covers in this series. One, the dude does not even look remotely like the hero is supposed to look like. The hero himself says right in the book that he "he keeps his hair cut too short" So don't ask me why we have some Fabio bodice ripping throwback to the 80's dude gracing this one. Two, way too much text on this one which has the unfortunate effect of making the cover look really busy. Just ya, I don't even know what else to say...description

descriptionAfter completely hating the hero of the previous book (lord did I hate Nick) I was sitting on the fence a bit in regards to this one. I've always liked Brody and was curious to hear more about Steph. But the ghost of Nick left a bitter taste in my mouth, and I was worried we were going to get a craptastic hero that runs away, ignores all Steph's messages thus leaving her pregnant and alone in Africa while he is back home screwing his way through the subs at The Garden. Before NICK the "hero" that shall remain nameless from this point on I would have never even given that a second thought because that isn't how Miz Blake usually writes her heroes. But the previous book left a scar (so dramatic I know). In any case, I pulled my big girl panties up and requested an ARC (and quizzed a couple of friends who read it before me), and to make a long story short I very much enjoyed this one. It felt a bit like old school M&M to me.

description

So deets...as always I found this one well written. Like I have said a million times even a bad Lexi Blake book is well written. The pace in this one was excellent. I never felt the need to skim. There is no OW/OM drama. Both have been celibate since their one night stand a year previously. I was ecstatic to see that the BDSM element was more prominent in this book. I felt that it has been shoved aside in favor for the action in the past few books. SOOOO much awesome secondary character action in this one. Adam's whole conversation with Brody about Stephs "boyfriend" Nate had me laughing my ass off. Lots of Liam (one of my favorite heroes of this series). Lots of Ian (which is always a good thing). A ton of new (at least I couldn't remember a lot of them) bodyguards with much potential for future stories. Some adorable baby and daddy action which reminded me how much the lack of that in Theo's book annoyed me.

Both main characters were fairly likable for me. I had small issues with both at different times. Brody didn't really grovel, but I felt he was sufficiently repentant. Although his little hissy fit at the end annoyed me a bit. Steph was OK for the most part, but her self-loathing and martyr attitude was laid on a bit too thick at times. Lastly, it was all wrapped up in a sweet "three-weeks-later" chapter.

Since I feel like I've written a book at this point I will just wrap this up by saying this gets two thumbs up from yours truly.description

I want that connection. I want to feel you, and not only in a physical way. This isn’t playing. Playing is a silly word for what I want from you.”
“What word would you use?”
“Everything. I want everything.”

Have you ever read a series that you hope never ends. Like it could have 34355 books and you'll still crave more? Yeah. This series is that for me. Not only does my addiction to it increase with each new book and new character that gets introduced, I find myself more and more invested. These characters have become like friends to me. I root for them. I hurt for them. And I will never get enough of them.

Dr. Stephanie Gibson was first introduced in A Dom is Forever and my interest in her story has been increasing ever since. As a teenager, an accident due to unfortunate and naive negligence changed her life forever. She's been paying penance ever since and punishing herself trying to pay things forward. She gained a dear friend out of the woman that she felt should hate her for the accident but family of her own is not something she's had since that fateful day.

When Brody Carter and his team showed up at her clinic at Sierra Leone, she found herself falling quickly for the broody Aussie. On his last day there, she makes a decision to finally act on her feelings, even knowing he won't want anything beyond the one night. Brody doesn't feel he's good enough for her, even while in her head, she feels it's the exact opposite. But their one passionate night together comes with a lasting surprise, when Steph finds herself pregnant and her messages to Brody go unanswered. She got the message from the man loud and clear, but when her life and her son's life is threatened, she finds herself on the doorstep of Liam O’Donnell and back in Brody's world.

The tension between them is so thick you could cut it with a knife. I needed Brody to redeem himself for the radio silence act he pulled on Steph. I needed him to step up and be a man. I wanted him to grovel, to work for it, to need her forgiveness, and man oh man did I get it. And then some!
He thought briefly about putting the baby in his crib and trying to get a bit of work done, but it felt better to sit, to rock with his son in his arms. For the first time in forever, he knew what peace meant.

While Brody finally sees the light and realizes he needs to fight for Steph, his battle certainly isn't an easy one. With a dangerous enemy hunting for his woman and her determination to continue to punish herself for her past, it's not easy to prove just how great they could be together. But it sure made for an entertaining read.

I wanted to be annoyed with Steph and her constant martyr mentality, but I simply couldn't. Lexi Blake did an amazing job with character development and you can't help but understand her and feel for her at the same time. To know that you're the cause of two innocent lives is not easy to get over, no matter how many years passed and whether or not it was a horrible accident. Steph lives with those demons every day. It's the reason she became a doctor and fights to save lives.

There's a lot that happens in this book, but the romance is always at the front and center, and it. is. SIZZLING.
It’s going be long and slow and I’m going to know every single inch of this beautiful body like it’s a map I need to memorize. I’ll be able to close my eyes and know how many kisses it takes to get from your mouth to your nipple to your sweet belly to that pussy I’m going to eat like a starving man.”

I loved these two together and I loved how they fight for each other even when they fight with each other.

Of course it wouldn't be a Lexi Blake book without the rest of the gang and a whole bunch of fun from my favorite, Ian.
You can’t fix someone. That’s not what love does. Love can make a person want to fix himself. That’s the key.” He frowned at his wife. “I said love. I want to vomit.”

Love Another Day was another high octane ride; full of action and suspense that will keep you turning the pages well into the night. I just finished it and I already can't wait for the next book. I'm an addict when it comes to this series and I can't recommend it enough if you like your romantic suspense with some sizzling BDSM romance.

This book was actually really hard for me to rate and I had to think on it for quite awhile. The story I did like and it kept me very intrigued, but the characters are what has me conflicted. While I did like them for the most part, there were many times that I had issues with their actions.

Brody was actually the character that had me the most nervous before I even picked this book up, yet he turned out to be the character I liked the most. I really loved how he went all-in once he knew the complete story about Stephanie, and he didn't run scared. And despite his actions as being the first to leave their semi-relationship in the prologue he was ready to jump back into Steph's life, which I liked. But it was the ending that had me ready to throat punch him and made all of those positive feelings I had for his character a little dimmer. He and Steph had one big fight at the end and it actually made me hate both of them. Brody was able to stay pretty well liked in my eyes, but Stephanie, whom I was already struggling with, went right to the top of my shit list in the course of this fight.

Stephanie had her reasons for being angry, and for keeping the secrets that she did. Those secrets weren't my issue with her character. Throughout this whole book there were many times that her inner dialogue annoyed me to no end as she rambled on about how she was a bad person and how she deserved every bad thing that happened in her life. If this wasn't such a frequent occurrence I could have gotten past it with no issue, but seeing as it happened a lot, I just couldn't. And then when we got to the end and she seemed to have no issue with given up on someone that did not deserve her no-care attitude, I was done with her character. That one scene took her from being a heroine that I didn't particularly like to a heroine that I wish never got a HEA.

The thing that saved this book for me was how much I enjoyed the BDSM aspect of it and that Ms. Blake did more club scenes like we used to see in the earlier books from this series. And there was a little more action which I really liked. So even though I couldn't fully connect to these characters as a couple I still enjoyed the overall story about them. Now I will just sit patiently and wait for Tucker's story which I hope will come sometime in the near future of this series.

4* bring me to live STARS!!

What the ever loving f the cover? Well, that's my normal reaction. I thought.. Wait a minute, is it still the Masters and Mercenaries series? Yup, it is. Weird... Huh. Anyway, I didn't expect Brody Carter have a major book; maybe a novella but yeah, surprised me. His first appearance in Dungeon Royale (Damon's book) and since then, he joined the group. I didn't remember him really well but the story kinda touched me in a good way :)

Once upon a night, somewhere in Africa, Dr. Stephanie Gibson submit her crush to Brody Carter which ended up as one night stand. It was the last day on Brody's mission and soon he will leave her. Months later, Stephanie is wanted by a dangerous man alongside her baby, Nathan. Scared and confused, she seek protection to Liam O'Donnell and his wife, Avery and became McKay-Taggart's client. Stephanie's secret baby safe for a while until Brody came into her life again. He determined to protect and fix his mistakes.

At first, I was confused, who is Stephanie? I didn't remember her at all. Well, it appears she was the cause of Avery's family death. Her husband and baby before Liam. She became a doctor but inside she's still empty. Stephanie slowly eaten by her guilt. I kinda understand her feelings and it isn't easy. The only thing I didn't like about her is, the martyr syndrome. Stephanie always thinks her existence only brings trouble.

description

Brody isn't a perfect man either. He has flaws and haunted by the memories. But his worst mistake is when he decided to leave Stephanie. The I'm-not-good-for-you speech. Typical. Brody didn't have the confidence. Anyway, I really enjoyed his nonstop grovelling when Brody found out about his baby son. Of course, Stephanie didn't easily forgive him.

I really enjoyed the story. Mostly because of the McKay-Taggart's crew are always hilarious. The crazy banter between Ian and Adam are always to die for. Outside the suspense from the bad guy, Brody and Stephanie are re-start their D/s relationship again. It was really tame almost vanilla in kinda way. Sweet and romantic. Nothing's too extreme.

description

McKay-Taggart's crew has been upgraded since the Lost Boys (after Theo's rescue). I really liked the cameos from the boys. Outside, they're super fun. Well, the suspense was well-written as expected from Lexi Blake. I enjoyed McKay-Taggart's crew in action on the field.

However, I feel Brody and Stephanie just like appetizer for the opening and dessert for the ending. Not the main menu. They're still running in circles from the crimes they did and no one is moving on. Honestly, I lost interest with them towards the end but somehow I managed to enjoy them a bit. It was all about lost communication and forgiving. To be honest, I'm not a big fans of surprised pregnancy/baby but Love Another Day is nicely done.

I think this is a case of "It's me, not you!"

Unlikeable heroine with a martyr complex

Derailing a hero who was interesting as a secondary character in a previous book, but is now just a big lump of muscles.

No chemistry.

Read for the regular bromance of the gang and for Tucker who is a breath of fresh air. Sounds like something happens with him, but I never got that far.

What can say that I haven't already said about my ADORATION for this author's writing? The answer is probably NOTHING, but I'm going to repeat myself anyway! I feel like EVERY SINGLE ROMANCE READER needs to read a book by this author. No matter the genre, I just feel like it's necessary or a rite of passage, or whatever you want to call it, for a lover of all things romance to experience the greatness that is Lexi Blake. Looking back at everything, Ms. Blake was one of the authors who got me hooked on BDSM Romance, Romantic Suspense, AND paranormal romance. Her work was essential to me while I was growing my blog base. This author's work will ALWAYS have a special place in my heart and I urge you to test out her work as soon as you can. Trust me when I say that your expectations WILL BE MET!

Now onto LOVE ANOTHER DAY, book #14 (wow, I can't believe it) in Ms. Blake's Masters and Mercenaries Series. This is Brody Carter and Dr. Stephanie Gibson's story. Now, you might get different opinions on this series and whether you should read it in order or if these books can be read as standalones, but there is no way I can give you a cut and dry answer to that question. If it weren't for one sentence in this book, I would say HELL YEAH, read it as a standalone, but I can't do that. This series is so intertwined and so complex, that I truly think it would be best to read it from the beginning. There are little novellas from 1001 Dark Nights that you could read as standalones, but be prepared to be absolutely HOOKED! Take it from me, and enjoy this INCREDIBLE series from the beginning. It may seem like a lot, but these books read so fast and flow so nicely, it will definitely not feel like a chore. It's important that you take this journey and grow alongside these characters, because trust me, there is a lot of growing to be had.

If I haven't put you to sleep yet, I actually need to tell you that Brody and Stephanie's romance was a PURE DELIGHT to read. Suspenseful, sexy, sassy, and incredibly entertaining, Lexi Blake gives us her trademark stellar writing and unforgettable characters in LOVE ANOTHER DAY. There is heartbreak in this book and a lot of healing to be had, but Ms. Blake does give us a happily ever after that we will never forget. From the minute this book landed on my Kindle I was a goner! You can NEVER EVER go wrong with a Lexi Blake novel!

Love another day is a story about two broken people and how they come to terms with themselves-and each other.

As a teen, Stephanie Gibson caused an accident that took the life of two people-and she has never forgiven herself. She tries to overcome her mistake by helping people in foreign lands. When Brody Carter came to her African village on a mission for McKay-Taggart, she tried to resist her attraction to him, but decided one night would fuel her fantasies for the rest of her life. Brody admired Stephanie, but didn't feel smart enough for her and once their night was over, told her not to contact him again. But he did ask a friend to keep an eye on her.

When Stephanie is threatened by a terrorist, she runs to Texas to Liam and Avery O'Donnel. She hires McKay-Taggart to keep her safe-and when Brody finds out, he races to Dallas to be her bodyguard. But what Brody doesn't realize is that his single night with Stephanie produced a child-because he refused to listen to any of the voice mail messages she left him.

When Brody finally catches up with Stephanie, she doesn't want anything to do with him, and refuses to look at a future together. Can Stephanie come to terms with her guilt for the sake of her son, and can Brody overcome his own lack of self worth to convince Stephanie to take a chance with him again?.

As usual with Lexi Blake's stories, the idea of people creating their own families is at the forefront-and as usual, Ian Taggart is a delight. The story is both complex and captivating as well as emotional and touching.

This is a totally wonderful addition to the Master's and Mercenaries series and a definite 5 star read.

Love Another Day by Lexi Blake is the fourteenth book in the Masters & Mercenaries Series. It shouldn’t be a surprise that this book was filled with lots action, suspense, sexual tension and erotic BDSM scenes. Brody and Steph were two complex characters who were written in such an intriguing manner that you wanted to get to know them in depth as walls of their hard and frustrating personalities are broken down. So if you are looking for a story where raw emotions, passion and suspense collides in gritty and riveting manner then I highly recommend you to pick up this book.

I had a review all written for this and then I read it and I personally feel as if I have lost my review mojo. Here goes.

Overall I really enjoyed Love Another Day.

It’s Brody “the hot Aussie” Carters and well Stephanie “not the best heroine” Gibson’s book. I thought twice about requesting this book but my curiosity for Brody and Steph won.

The mission has finished and Step and Brody are to part ways. They spend one night together and nothing can go wrong right? That in itself was kind of a douche move from Brody.

There were more club scenes which is good as that is the originality that Ms. Blake has written and hopefully will continue to write.

I had real issues with Stephanie. She is a bloody idiot IMO. Yes she made a mistake. A very long time ago. Yet she has left herself in purgatory all this time. She has willingly played with her life and been a martyr ever since that fateful night. She has to change for herself and most importantly for her son. She has to forgive herself. Time to let it go.

Brody thinks he is just a grunt, a soldier and not good enough for her so he concedes to the one night and walks away. On top of that douche move which I mentioned above. He doesn’t answer the phone when Steph tries to call him. He does answer the phone when Liam phones though. Sigh love that Irishman.

“This is Carter.” “Ah, good. Now look here, I’m going to say something and I’m only going to see it once. I’m saying it to allow you to get a good hear start and because I’m a fair man. I’m coming for you. Did you think you could sneak in and out of her life like that and there wouldn’t be any consequences? Did you think because her mum died that no one would stand up for her? You were wrong, you arsehole.”

As soon as there is trouble Brody flies out to Dallas to help in any way he can. His reaction to Steph apparently having a toy boy? Classic. Well done, Adam.

LB got many a reaction from me. I was screaming at Stephanie for her to drop the matter but she went on and on. Then I hear the voice mails and I get every single reason why she didn’t let it go. I’m in a conundrum here. Still not her biggest fan. With his actions throughout the book he grovelled a lot for me this is just me though. Others will see it differently. He kind of throws a hissy fit at the end of the book but I got that because Steph is frustrating as hell.

Ladies we have a winner for Brody Carter. He is celibate. He fulfils his responsibilities. No sex with other women.

The plot is good and in-depth with action packed goodness. So I have no complaints on that part.
What really makes the book is Ms. Blake’s writing style and that we see the old crew, the core and the foundation of the beginning of the series. As always Ian & Charlie star in the book and are once again on their best behaviour. We also get to see more of Liam. Oh how I missed Liam, the sexy Irishman. If these previous characters did star in the book would the book still be as good as I think?

I can’t wait for the bodyguards to get their books. As well as Kayla. 2018 can’t come soon enough. And my heart bleeds for Tucker.

This was book 14 in the "Masters and Mercenaries" series. Brody Carter was on assignment in Africa for 6 months when the gang was working on getting the evil doctor Hope MacDonald when he met Dr. Stephanie Gibson she was the girl that injured Avery from book 3. On his last night in Africa Brody and Steph hook up and have a night of hot sex that resulted in a baby boy named Nathan. Brody didn't think he was good enough for her so he left and didn't answer any of her calls. Steph shows up at Li and Avery's house in the middle of the night with her baby Li takes one look at Nate and knows that he is Brody's kid. When Brody calls his friend Alfi he tells him that she is in trouble turns out a madman is after her thinking that she has something that he wants. Brody hops on a plane from London to Dallas. These two have been in love with each other for a year and both thinking that they weren't good enough for the other Steph is living her life helping others because of what she did and the things she did to cope with it. Brody thinks that he is not smart enough for her he was a grunt in the army when his brother was killed. They needed to talk when the bad guys come calling Steph does whatever it takes to safe the people she loves never thinking about Brody or her baby. Steph thinks that she is all alone in the world after her mother died her father turned his back on her after the accident that she caused she didn't realize that she had family with M/T. I also liked Tucker Brody's partner he is one of the lost boys that the team rescued from Hope he was like a big toddler and he just wants to find out who he is and I hope that the bad guy was wrong. I love reading this series and I have mixed feelings about the cover of this book, but I love reading Ms. Blake's books and I really liked Brody even in the last book it took me awhile to warm up to Steph because she was not caring of her own wellbeing. I love Ian and I say it every review and he had some really good one liners. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

Just a quick review here, because honestly I kind of skim-read this one.

It features the much-loathed secret baby trope. The hero was more of a moron than an outright bastard, which made it bearable, but I definitely feel like the wonderfully complex, mildly antiheroic heroine was too good for him. She's deeply tortured - a mistake she made when she was younger cost two other people their lives - so she makes up for it by being a doctor in Africa. Honestly, I wish she had a stronger, more interesting hero to balance her out, rather than 'dumb Australian guy'.

A woman with a death wish due to survivor’s guilt and a man who can’t be another way for her to hurt herself.

A doctor who uses her skills and training to help those in war torn cities and a body guard who vows to protect the innocent, unafraid to step in front of bullets for his job.

Stephanie Gibson and Brody Carter may not see themselves as worthy of one another, but it’s clear that they need each other more than anyone else, and even though they parted ways after their one night together, their lives are destined to intersect again, not only because of what they created, but also because Brody promises to be worthy of everything that Stephanie brings to his life as long as she can stop punishing herself for actions that everyone has put behind them but her.

Stephanie and Brody’s thoughts and actions are bound to frustrate readers because they seem to be the only ones who don’t seem to understand their worth. And while their behavior may cause readers to dislike them, in my opinion, Lexi Blake does a great job illustrating exactly why Stephanie and Brody feel the way they do and why their actions show two people lost in their own heads, unwilling to gain clarity because they don’t know how to see past what they’ve always thought about themselves and what they deserve. Don’t get me wrong, I wanted to shake both of them numerous times throughout the story, but they’re the only people who can change their perspectives and they have to realize what they’d be giving up if they continue down the path they’re going - one that leads them away from those who love them and need them.

Stephanie and Brody make numerous mistakes throughout Love Another Day, some more costly than others, but all of their decisions illustrate just how self-destructive Stephanie is and just how skewed Brody’s sense of self worth has become. But with a new focus for both of them and an immense amount of support behind them, as long as they can weather the deadly situation they find themselves in, they’ll have time to work through their respective issues and find a way to make things right between them, offering them a second chance to be a part of something they both deserve.

Love Another Day’s story line is extremely complex - not only does its setting occur in multiple countries but the number of characters involved in the main plot line forces readers to ascertain who can be trusted and who has ulterior motives when it comes to helping Stephanie stay alive.
Despite the abundance of situations that simultaneously occur in the story, Stephanie and Brody’s tumultuous relationship and a resolution to the threat on her life remain central to everything that happens…all of the advice given to them…all of the steps taken to ensure Stephanie’s safety…all of the insight gained about why Stephanie’s the way she is…EVERYTHING that’s said and done work to move the story line forward and to gain a variety of perspectives on all that has happened and all that MUST happen so that Stephanie and Brody have a limitless amount of days to repair themselves and each other.

Ok - I am just going to talk about the huge elephant in the room first on this one - what is with the cover?!?! I hate saying it, but WHY??? This cover is just hideous and reminds me of the romance novels I used to see in grocery stores as a kid that had me running over to Steven King books going "OMG, why can't those books look like you?" Thank god the story is WAY better than the cover.

So please - do not judge this book by its cover. Because it is way off basis on the awesomeness that is Love Another Day. Now onto the book.

Love Another Day is Brody's story involving the lovely doctor, Stephanie Gibson. I have been waiting for this story for who knows how long. For whatever reason, I took a huge interest in Brody. As for Stephanie, she sort of annoyed me and this book showed why. Don't get me wrong, she's an awesome doctor, but her woe is me attitude constantly annoyed the shit out of me.

There was a lot more BDSM in this book than in the last few books and that was nice breath of fresh air for me. I love the suspense and dramatics but with this couple, their relationship definitely needed more the BDSM element than the dramatics. And Lexi wrapped everything up beautifully in the end for these two.

Do I really need to reiterate how awesome Lexi is and her writing abilities?!? Especially when it comes to BDSM mixed with an amazing suspenseful plot?? Lexi has definitely found her niche in the writing department. And I love that she never repeats anything - no schexmy scenes, plot twists are always new and exciting and the characters are all unique (aside from the alpha part - but again, their different in ways). And lets be honest, that is damn hard to do after so many books, but this is book 14!!! And I am not bored yet!!

Bring on Tucker's book, cause the man has me all too excited for his story!

4 death wish shaped stars for LOVE ANOTHER DAY!

When Dr. Stephanie Gibson and Brody Carter spend one erotic night together after his mission in Freetown, the last thing she expects is to have a bouncing bundle of joy 9 months later. Now back in the States, fleeing from someone trying to kill her, Steph knows that she'll do anything to keep her boy safe. Brody had no clue that his one night of passion with the good doctor would change the trajectory of his life forever. He's no good for her, he's not a smart man and every time he goes on a mission, there's a 50/50 chance he won't make it home. But when he meets his son? He knows that making him, Steph and Nate a real family is the most important mission of his life. And failure is NOT an option.

I can't even believe that LOVE ANOTHER DAY is book 14 in the Masters and Mercenaries series. Ms. Blake keeps turning out these delicious romantic suspense with a BDSM bent, and it's gotten to the point that I feel totally connected to the McKay-Taggart crew like they're my BFF's. As always, Ian's over the top character is the comic relief in the sometimes heavy and deadly storylines. LOVE ANOTHER DAY is a terrific addition, though I'll admit that despite sharing Steph's name (and having an actual puppy named Tucker, which was super weird), I really did not care much for her character. Oh, she was smart and a badass in the OR, but her martyr-mentality drove me insane. Girl, you've got a baby now, wake the hell up! And Brody fucked up, yea, but come.on. He's owned up, explained and it's time to right the damn ship! With the notable exception of her as a MC, I did like everything else about LOVE ANOTHER DAY, especially the GN'R warehouse showdown. Epic! I can't wait for the next installment in this always awesome series, Nobody Does It Better!

Bottom Line: No OM/OW or sharing; condom use; mild BDSM/kink; no sexual assault; loads of violence/murder.

I CAN'T HELP IT. Write a big, burly hero like Brody, give him a squishy little baby, and I'M YOUR SLAVE. I am in no way ready for kids nor do I even like kids one-third of the time, but slap a baby in a book, and I'm DEAD. You own my heart forever. HAHAHA. Okay, I'll stop being melodramatic now.

Love Another Day by Lexi Blake was EVERYTHING. Sexy, heartfelt, sweet, and hilarious with a dash of suspense thrown in for good measure! (Granted, this installment of the Masters and Mercenaries series wasn't as much of a thrill as the previous books in the series, but it was still a very entertaining and thrilling read.)

Both Steph and Brody had moments where I wanted shake them and smack them upside the head, but they're ultimately a lovely couple and an adorable family unit with their little chubster (Nate), and their journey to an HEA was everything I hoped for it to be. I loved seeing more of Liam and Avery again, AND IAN, MY BAE. Big Tag holds this series together, and I just freaking love him so much. I am so super intrigued by Kayla's story. Like *gimmiegimmie* PLEASE don't make me wait!

I just love this series. I love how the primary characters from previous books are still around. They're not gone simply because their story was told. I love how the story line is still building off each book. I love how old enemies and some times old allies come back (sometimes from the dead) and are still wreaking havoc. I also love how at the end there's always another little twist to keep you interested in the outcome of the series. And finally... I love Ian Taggart's sarcasm and machinations and he NEVER changes!! He is a constant. When Ian comes around you know you're going to laugh your ass off over his comments or whatever he is doing. I think Ian and Charlie need another book.. becasue it's tough being the boss and you know he is the baddest guy there.

The big Aussie & the sacrificing Doc. Having gotten hints of potential the sumpin’ sumpin’ going on with these two in the last few books, we finally get the truth in Brody & Steph’s book. Naturally, it’s not a simple path to a HEA for either H or h, with plenty of action, adventure, steam & sarcasm along the way. The read also contains delicious snippets and clues to future plot lines (as per usual) but this book contains an absolute dooooozy! Lawwwd.
Can. Not. Wait. 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

Loved this even though both the hero and heroine needed to be kicked in the arse at one time or another. Good to see the whole clan and can't wait to continue with the series - it is so good!

I listened to the audio with Ryan West narrating and he does a fabulous job with all the characters!

The book was great the first half. It dragged on a bit in the later part. The Heroine kept insisting about her non-existence self worth that I had gotten irritated. Her tendency to do absolutely everything by her own and to save everyone was both respectable and annoying like hell. While she seemed relentlessly selfless, she also was seemed to think that the world revolved around her, that every bad things happened because she did not do better. Despite her tragic past, my sympathy for her still had it limit so I didn't like her very much for the later part of the book.

Everything had worked perfectly. All signs pointed to this plan coming to fruition. The plan where she sacrificed herself for her son and Brody.

I almost DNF the book because of this quote.

“Tucker, you don’t remember the people you loved, but can you imagine that you did love someone? You know what it means to empathize, right? Think about how it would feel to love someone with your whole heart. What if the only way you could save that person is to sacrifice yourself? Would you do it? Could you live with yourself if you didn’t?”

You would probably see me rolling my eyes so much I looked like a clown!! I absolutely disliked this type of martyr act unless of course, the Heroine was total badass. She was NOT!!

When the Hero found out.

His boy. Steph had left him behind too. She’d walked away from them both because her guilt meant more to her than her family.
Anger welled, but there was something deeper, something he couldn’t acknowledge because if he did, he might break into a million pieces.
Grief. Grief that she couldn’t love him the way he loved her. Grief that she would rather die than fight. Grief that they couldn’t have the life they might have because she had never forgiven herself.

I was like "YEAH, DUMP HER F**king ASS!!!" Not only she left the Guy but she left her own SON!! but it was obviously just my wishful thinking.

Of course, she got better at the end but the process of getting there was pretty tedious for me to read. The Hero was alright character. He was definitely an asshole at first but became pretty much the typical possessive alpha male. I enjoyed the better half. The book was overall enjoyable. And Surprisingly, I enjoyed it mostly because of Tucker. I adored his character. Not even the D/S scenes could make me enjoy it more than reading about Tucker and his way of speech.

First off, you can NEVER go wrong with a Lexi Blake novel. Second, the Master and Mercenaries series is by far a favorite in my romance collection and Love Another Day is a great addition to this collection! When Lexi keeps bringing new additions to the MM team I jump, yes, jump at the chance to read these beauties! They are that spectacular!

Each book in this series is phenomenal and yet I feel they become better with each story, character and of course each prank on Ian & Adam! All characters intertwine so we, as the reader, take the journey with all the MM couples and see them blossom, grow their family and yearn for more!

Love Another Day brings you Brody Carter and Stephanie Gibson’s story. Both characters you have seen in previous novels, but now it’s their time to shine in the spotlight. Stephanie has demanded one night of bliss from Brody before he leaves Africa since his mission of protection is accomplished. She knows his tastes of desires, but did she demand too much that her wants left her with a mini-me 9 months later, but no Brody to speak of?!

Over a year later from seeing Brody, Stephanie finds herself on the doorstep of Liam & Avery O’Donnell, seeking protection from a mercenary who is after her and her son. Her and Avery have a kindred friendship that reels from the past, recalling guilt that Stephanie can't let go. Brody has left her in the wind and she can’t rely on his help so she is back in Dallas to the only home she knows besides Africa. Can the McKay-Taggert & Knight Team help save one of their own? What happens when Brody gets word that Stephanie is in trouble?

I enjoyed this book so much that all my excitement can’t be contained in a review.
If you want a series that has romance, suspense, humor, quick-wit & banter with some sinfully sexy and explosive BDSM elements… then look no further, one click this series, this book, this author! You won’t regret, I promise! Lexi will hook you from the beginning and keep you bonded throughout!

5 amazing stars

One thing is for captain. never, even judge a book by its cover! At first glance, I thought I was going to read a type of historical romance, only to be completely surprised by a new instalment to the masters + Mercenaries series by Lexi Blake. Although I haven't had a chance to read every single book from this series, it never felt as though I missed anything, no matter which book I picked up.

4.5 sexy dreams

Just like it was with her previous books. Lee Blake easily mixes action, suspense, strong men and women who are more than able to match them, and elements of BDSM that makes you more than a little curious about the lifestyle. I was captivated by this story and absolutely look forward to finding out more about this McKay-Taggart family-which is why I'll be starting from the very beginning. ,

This was a really cute one. Stephanie is a character who I admire. She made a really bad mistake and rather than be penalized for life, the one she hurt the most actually supported her and helped her realize her dreams. For Stephanie, there are no happy endings. One moment she is on top of the world and just starting to think about her life after high school. The next moment, she has completely destroyed her life by doing something stupid. Driving whilst distracted is a terrible thing and it is a miracle more people have not died from it.

Still, Stephanie is now in a panic and needs help from the woman who has supported her against all odds. Frightened by some horrible crimes, Stephanie runs to Avery for help. She is reunited with Brody Carter whom she had a crush on. Their reunion is less than stellar but she'll take anything she can get to resolve the issue that is going on.

The action is nice and fast. I am quickly drawn into the story and wondering what would happen next. Enemies are not enemies if they are the enemies of my enemies, yes? Stephanie's mix up into a world of terrorism and mafia/mob is not how she imagined when she worked in a 3rd world country to save lives. Luckily for her, she has dangerous and protective friends of her own.

Ms. Blake is definitely maturing in her writing. Her writing is on par with Ms. Nora Roberts when it comes to writing contemporary romantic suspense. The plot is well written. The characters are well developed. Ms. Blake is the Kinky Ms. Roberts. For those who love J.D. Robb books and wish they were a bit kinkier, this series and author are for you.

REVIEW: 3.5 stars-- LOVE ANOTHER DAY is the fourteenth installment in Lexi Blake’s contemporary, adult MASTERS AND MERCENARIES erotic, romance series focusing on the men and women who work for the McKay-Taggart and Knight Security Agency. This is former SASR (Special Air Service Regiment –Australia) soldier and security specialist Brody Carter, and Dr. Stephanie Gibson’s story line. LOVE ANOTHER DAY can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from previous story lines is revealed where necessary although there are references to ongoing scenarios from previous investigations and the continuing fall out from a mission that saw the rescue of too many men whose minds and memories were wiped clean of their pasts.

NOTE: LOVE ANOTHER DAY contains sexually, graphic scenes of Domination and submission.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Stephanie and Brody) LOVE ANOTHER DAY follows the building but acrimonious relationship between former SASR soldier and security specialist Brody Carter, and Dr. Stephanie Gibson. Approximately one year earlier Brody was assigned security detail to Stephanie Gibson and her crew who worked and operated out of a medical clinic near Freetown Sierra Leone, South Africa. Stephanie’s attraction to Brody is immediate and palpable but our hero is reluctant to start anything knowing there time together is limited and coming to an end. One night together finds Brody walking away from the woman he will never forget. Fast forward to present day and Brody will come charging back into Stephanie’s life when our heroine is targeted for something she knows nothing about. What ensues is the rekindling relationship between Stephanie and Brody, no promises for the future, and Stephanie’s dogged determination to make reparations for sins of the past-reparations that place Stephanie in the direct line of fire on more than one occasion.

Dr. Stephanie Gibson suffers with survivor’s guilt; PTSD that pushes our heroine to risk her life without consideration of others or the people she leaves behind. A past shrouded in tragedy, Stephanie’s ongoing guilt and need to risk her life, placing herself in danger gets old, very fast. Our heroine tries to sacrifice herself (on multiple occasions) for the sake of others but a sacrifice that would destroy the man that she has grown to love. Brody Carter doesn’t do relationships; his line of work as a security specialist places him in dangerous situations and a relationship would only add further complications to a lifestyle rarely conducive to family and love but Stephanie Gibson keeps secret a very important part of her life-one that places Brody front and center, for now and into the future.

There is a very large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including security expert and former SASR solider Alfi Dauterre, Ian and Theo Taggart, and many of the previous story line couples, as well as Tucker and all of the ‘lost boys’ whose memories have been wiped by Dr. Hope McDonald. The requisite evil has many faces including several members of the Ukrainian mob.

LOVE ANOTHER DAY struggles with the ongoing self-sacrificing actions of our story line heroine. Stephanie’s need to ‘martyr’ herself for sins of the past was anything but heartbreaking as I endeavored to accept her actions as anything but a cry for attention. For me, the heroine’s continuous need to place herself in danger, risking not only her life but the life of those who had to constantly step in to search and rescue, made for too many anxious moments-moments I felt were unnecessary and over the top. In short, I had a difficult time sympathizing with Stephanie Gibson; her attitude and relentless efforts to get herself killed was disconcerting and disappointing. The premise was engaging but at times distressing; the characters were colorful and dynamic but the heroine’s actions affected my overall enjoyment.

3.5 stars. This was a pretty good book, but I did have a few issues with it. This is Brody and Steph's story. Steph is a doctor at a clinic in Africa, aiding the local people. At one point, Brody was there as a bodyguard to Steph, working with Liam and Avery. They were friends, but right before Brody left, they had a one night stand. That night resulted in Steph having Brody's baby. She tried to contact him many times but he never answered her calls. Fast forward a year or so, now Steph's clinic is under attack. She managed to escape with her baby and she runs to Liam and Avery, who are very good friends of hers, in the US. The gang at McKay Taggart help Steph investigate who wrecked the clinic. And Brody finds out that he has a child. He feels extremely guilty for not answering Steph's calls. He actually did really like her, but he felt he wasn't good enough for her so he wanted to push her away by not answering her calls. He wants to make it up to her and be with her, but she pushes him away. She feels like she doesn't deserve happiness. Then the baddies who wrecked the clinic surface and there is much more that they want from Steph. They threaten to hurt her and everyone that she loves. It is kind of a big mess, but it all turns out in the end after much suspense, some sexy times and some frustration.

As a backstory, when Steph was a teenager, she fell asleep at the wheel one night and killed Avery's then husband and daughter in an accident. Avery has forgiven her and helped her get over it, go to medical school, etc. Since then Steph has devoted her life to helping save others, but she carries a crippling guilt for her past.

I liked this book but I didn't love it. It had parts that I liked and parts that bothered me. I liked Brody a lot. I was worried that I was going to be annoyed with his character but he ended up being sweet and just wanting to do the right thing by Steph and his baby. Steph on the other hand really annoyed me. She pushed him away and kept playing the martyr, willing to even give up her life because she felt like she deserved it (after her mistake as a teenager). She did this through the whole book, even being willing to leave her baby without a mother. She needed major counseling. It was very tiresome and at times I wanted Brody to find someone better. The couple took way too long to get their act together and be together. They were both wishy washy, back and forth on whether they should be together, Steph especially. It was much more angsty than I prefer. All of the pushing away really hampered my enjoyment of the book. The couple was separated and fighting so much and then the issue is resolved so quickly . It was a drama fest of epic proportions. I definitely needed more closure at the end and an epilogue to see them in an actual relationship in the real world. Still, the writing was good and I enjoyed the story for the most part. I liked catching up with the McKay Taggart gang too.

Overall, I liked this book, but didn't love it. Still, I love this series and I look forward to more from Lexi Blake!

Lexi Blake's Masters and Mercenaries series has been my favourite series since I started it two years ago. To think I have read 15+ books based on this series. Some may think I am insane. Some may even ask me, why I have stuck to this day reading her books? Let me tell you, Lexi Blake's books are like coming home to me. Her writing just sparks something in me and I am left wanting and craving. The way she intertwines her stories and they way she pours so much heart into her characters in absolutely breathtaking. Love Another Day was another breathtaking novel in her series. This book was an explosion of suspense, drama and love.

When I read Love Another Day, I was skeptical because of her last book. I did not like the book that much because it centered more on the suspense rather than the BDSM interaction. I feel like she lost her spark on that book. But when I go to reading Love Another Day, I fell in love with it. she got her spark back. Man, this book reminded me of her first books in the series. Full of hot and heavy BDSM scenes, scorching suspense, humour and some alpha hotness that kept my winters warm, Love Another Day totally showed me how much I love Lexi Blake's book. Yes, she lost her way a bit but she brought back charm, action and of course some spiciness that blew me away. Love Another Day did not only give me mystery and action but it told a story of love with abundance. It held a special meaning of letting go of the past and deciding to not let it haunt you. That unique storyline made me fall in love with it.

Love Another Day introduced me to Brody and Stephanie. They had an undeniable sexy chemistry that set my world on fire. There was a woman who held on her to the pain of her past and the man who was willing to fight for love. It was genuine and definitely gave a different feel to the Masters and Mercenaries seroes . Brody was that sexy, protective and possessive alpha male that made me fall in love with more. Stephanie was a stubborn and sassy woman who had strength and pain in her. Her and Brody were definitely perfect match. What's so great is their relationship as sub and dominant that gave them so much depth as a couple. I loved Lexi Blake fully developed their story as a BDSM couple. It was not rushed and it certainly flowed. Of course there a glimpse of the MacKay-Taggart gang which always brings a smile to my face and laugh my heart out.

I definitely excited to what the future holds for Master and Mercenaries series. Even if the series has 20+ books, I am going to keep reading it because it is absolutely amazing.
