Blood offers a disturbing yet highly realistic portrayal of terrorism through the graphic dramatization of the brutal kidnapping and torture of a politician's wife. Although the play's action focuses on the immediate circumstances of the victim and the executioner, it takes on universal parameters through Belbel's use of ambiguous circumstances and nameless characters.
