A frog and a kitten and a dog and a grasshopper and a rabbit and a chicken and a fish and a child...all of these...JUMP!

Simple text. Fun anticipation.
I'd give this one a 3.5, and would have loved it as an early reader. The pages of this board book lift upward so readers must turn it vertically in order to read. They'll notice various animals on each page, followed by a page in which each one leaps into the air. They all jump in different ways, and the illustrations and text show that. The jumping pattern is briefly interrupted with a snail, who struggles but cannot jump. Eventually, the book concludes with a young girl jumping just like all ...more

Leap into this great board book for toddlers! On one page, the animal is sitting waiting to jump, then with the turn of the page the animal launches into the air. Each jump is accompanied with a merry and silly noise that is some version of “boing!” Sometimes there are additional syllables to create even more fun. The format turns the book lengthwise so that the animals can jump even higher. The illustrations are simple and joyous.

A delight of a board book sure to get everyone jumping.

Shelves: storytime, babies
This is a terrific new book for baby storytime or toddler storytime. I only wish it were bigger, but it can still work as long as you don't have a huge crowd. Also great for 1 on 1 reading, of course. The simple text and great graphic design (lots of white space, with an emphasis on the word "boing" are perfect for small children. It's great to participate by making your baby or toddler jump with you while reading! Highly recommended.

This was cute for very little ones who like to move around during a story and don't have much of an attention span. If it were a bit larger, I think it would work well for a story time- as is, it would work best with just one. The art is very cute.

This is a board book with a simple concept: animals jumping. Each page is simply "Frogs jump" or "kittens jump", etc, with the following page being a silly picture of that animal going "boing!" So simple, yet so darling! (and the page about the snail cracked me up)

A picture book with limited text and just enough onomatopoeia to make even a one year old laugh.
Super engaging. Lucy and especially Molly loved this! Loved when we jumped the book, and bounced them at the end!

A very fun board book that will get kids jumping! Pair with Jim Gill's "Jumping and Counting" song at toddler storytime.
