Piper is a clumsy, unemployed woman who was recently laid off from her desk job. With zero savings and being kicked out of her apartment, she lives in her car, looking for a job. When the unemployment agency gets her a job as a maid in the Durand house, she is wary, knowing she would have to deal with rich, stuck-up men. But it turns out they are not only rich and stuck-up, but extremely handsome - each one of the six brothers - and they were arrogant and cocky. However, when she learns the mystery of their living situation, she is shaken to her core.
Trigger Warning~
explicit content, blood, and polyamorous relationship.
Well, I was not sure what I expected, but the book was so much better and more enjoyable. It is a slow burn romance plot with six hot vampires, and they haven't even gotten together yet. But the series is very long, so I am not surprised.
I loved Piper! Her sassy, unapologetic personality intrigued me just as much as it intrigued the 'Master' Durands. I loved how she was not embarrassed by her needs and called them out on their shit every opportunity she got. Her temper tantrums were kind of funny, to be honest.
The vampires - though they were quite arrogant and unrelenting - I could empathize with them for having lost touch with the modern world. But seriously, half of them acted like teenagers in adult bodies. They annoyed me just as they annoyed Piper, but I still have hope for them.
The book is mostly in Piper's point of view, in first-person perspective - with all her sass and wit. It also had the guys' points of view in the middle, and I always love when male perspective is added to a story as it gives much more depth and understanding to the story.
It was a very entertaining story, and I think I will love this series.
If you like slow burn vampire romances with reverse harem themes and a clumsy but sassy FMC, this one is perfect.
