Previously a novella of 15k in the Realms and Rebels box set, now lengthened to a full length novel.
A broken vase isn’t all this maid owed her masters.
Piper needed a job. Any job would do. But when the temp agency assigns her to clean the house of a bunch of snobby rich men, she isn’t sure it's worth it.
Stuck in a job she has no choice but to keep, Piper becomes even more indebted to her employers when she breaks a priceless vase.
However, her clumsiness is the least of Piper’s troubles. Her mysterious and dangerously tempting employers have a secret. One that they are willing to kill to keep. Will she be able to save her job? Let alone live through it?
Erin Bedford is an otaku, recovering coffee addict, and Legend of Zelda fanatic. Her brain is so full of stories that need to be told that she must get them out or explode into a million screaming chibis. Obsessed with fairy tales and bad boys, she hasn’t found a story she can’t twist to match her deviant mind full of innuendos, snarky humor, and dream guys.
On the outside, she’s a work from home mom and bookbinger. One the inside, she’s a thirteen-year-old boy screaming to get out and tell you the pervy joke they found online. As an ex-computer programmer, she dreams of one day combining her love for writing and college credits to make the ultimate video game!
Until then, when she’s not writing, Erin is devouring as many books as possible on her quest to have the biggest book gut of all time. She’s written over thirty books, ranging from paranormal romance, urban fantasy, and even scifi romance.
Also, third person is really weird when writing about yourself. Just putting that out there.
WHAT I WOULD HAVE LIKED TO KNOW BEFORE STARTING THIS WASTE OF TIME OF A BOOK!!
-- First 25 % of the book : FMC finding this job as a maid and wondering about her bosses and how she is broke and that she needs this job even if it means scrubbing toilets..
--Then she proceeded to tell herself through the next 50% that she must not sleep with any of her 6 sexy (dubitable) bosses because she does not want to go back to sleeping in her car and having homeless men jerking off in front of her window. (I kid you not 🙄)
-- Finally throughout the hole book, the FMC must have given herself a thousand orgasms thinking about the guys and not in a sexy way:
Wynn: hello little maid, I hope you didn't forget to clean my toilets this morning...
Piper: of course not master Durand 🤤 (ohh, Wynn talked to me today .... I'll have to rub one out in the afternoon then !)
-- No sex or sexy scene in this book between the FMC and the harem except a single kiss around 95% of the book. The FMC talks more about her previous conquests than the harem.
--of the six guys in the harem ( Antoine, Wynn, Marcus, Drake, allister and Rayne), the FMC never talks Once with Marcus or Allister, barely with Drake. Basically, the ( imaginary ) love story is between piper, Wynn, Rayne and Antoine. The others act as furniture for the book.
--let's get down to only little action which constitute about 5% at the end of a book when the harem invites another vampire ( oh did I mention that they were the most boring vampires in the world spending their time lusting after an equally boring maid ) who wants to bite the heroine because she talked back to him
A BIG PASS. NOT WORTH MY TIME. SHALLOW AND INCONSISTENT 😤

Now if you want lots of sexual fantasies..then this book is for you. What I mean by those, well, the MC has tons of sexual fantasies with all the guys in this household. Well not the butler but he’s kind of with one of the guys sexually anyways. Although I do have a feeling that this guy, who had vision of her while he was with guy, will definitely do something with her.
Indebted to the Vampires was an okay book. It had funny and eye rolling moments. I was intrigued by the mc because she was a bit stubborn. Maybe too stubborn because their charm, and powers, rarely worked on her. It didn’t stop her from having fantasies about them but she never did anything to hurt her career within the household by doing anything with the guys. She did share a kiss with one of them when her life was in danger but it also didn’t help the situation either.
This book also delivered a good cliffhanger and I hate those. I’m so totally sucker punched into diving into the next book because I have to find out what the heck is going to happen next. Will the guys claim her or will they give he away to another vampire. I have so many questions!
Loved this vampire romance by Erin Bedford!!!! It was sexy and steamy with not one but 6 super sexy vampires!! Each had their own personality and charm and a game plan to get into Pipers pants. When Piper becomes the new maid for Antoine Durand and his brothers its her lucky break. She's been living out of her car with no place to go and barely any money left so when the agency sends her to a interview at the Durand estate its her last chance at finding employment. But between the arrogant and cold Antoine head of the family and being cornered by his brothers and her privacy being invaded its all a girl can take! And then when things get out of hand and she finds out their all vampires she's out the door! Screw this shit! She doesn't need a job that bad. Or does she? Yes their vampires but damn are they sexy as fuck and she's meant worst. Piper is beautiful and clumsy but she is smart and tough and the way she tells these vamps off even after knowing what they are is awesome. And inter dialogue is so fucking funny especially when she's trying to justify here rub off sessions and getting caught by all the vamps!!😂 I loved each of these guys ! Their all very interesting with different powers and looks. This is a part of a series and I can't wait to read more. Until next time Luv's💕💋
Piper is a clumsy, unemployed woman who was recently laid off from her desk job. With zero savings and being kicked out of her apartment, she lives in her car, looking for a job. When the unemployment agency gets her a job as a maid in the Durand house, she is wary, knowing she would have to deal with rich, stuck-up men. But it turns out they are not only rich and stuck-up, but extremely handsome - each one of the six brothers - and they were arrogant and cocky. However, when she learns the mystery of their living situation, she is shaken to her core.
Trigger Warning~ explicit content, blood, and polyamorous relationship.
Well, I was not sure what I expected, but the book was so much better and more enjoyable. It is a slow burn romance plot with six hot vampires, and they haven't even gotten together yet. But the series is very long, so I am not surprised.
I loved Piper! Her sassy, unapologetic personality intrigued me just as much as it intrigued the 'Master' Durands. I loved how she was not embarrassed by her needs and called them out on their shit every opportunity she got. Her temper tantrums were kind of funny, to be honest.
The vampires - though they were quite arrogant and unrelenting - I could empathize with them for having lost touch with the modern world. But seriously, half of them acted like teenagers in adult bodies. They annoyed me just as they annoyed Piper, but I still have hope for them.
The book is mostly in Piper's point of view, in first-person perspective - with all her sass and wit. It also had the guys' points of view in the middle, and I always love when male perspective is added to a story as it gives much more depth and understanding to the story.
It was a very entertaining story, and I think I will love this series.
If you like slow burn vampire romances with reverse harem themes and a clumsy but sassy FMC, this one is perfect.
The main character is full of snark and clumsiness. The most common combination for a vampire romance. Just enough attitude to interest the vampire and clumsiness to ensure she falls into their arms over and over again.
Fair. The characters weren't terribly likeable and the amount of story that was erotica was high. I imagine it'll turn out to be a reverse harem in the long run. Hard to call it a slow burn just because there wasn't any actual consummation when 70% of the story is erotica but it's imagined erotica.
There's one other audiobook in this series, book 2, that I'm aware of but I don't think I'll be continuing the story.
~ vampire RH ~ slow burn ~ campy ~ heroine TSTL ~ not a virgin!
💚 - no virgins
❤️🩹 - lots of ow, even after they started wooing Piper ❤️🩹- feed off other women even after relationship starts ❤️🩹- too many continuity errors in world building, characters and plot to really enjoy
I was really wanting a vampire RH and this fit the bill. Piper drove me crazy, in the TSTL I can get everyone in trouble way. The guys in the beginning were interesting, even with all the inconsistencies I enjoyed the first few books, my favorite being the time Piper and Darren had to themselves on the run. I initially liked Antione’s aloof character but it started to grate on me, especially how he treated Darren. There’s a confrontation in the last book that never gets resolved.
Overall these got really bad as they progressed. The characters changed, the entire story history changed, the plot went to shit and the world building was contradictory from each previous book like it was a really long time between books and the author forgot her outline.
Thankfully I could skim without missing much. If you’ve got a vampire itch to scratch maybe just read to Book 4 and call it a happy ending- spoilers . . . She gets knocked up by Darren in last book

OMG, this book was so good! I knew I had to read it the moment I saw it on the author’s BookTok. A reverse harem vampire romance inspired by Ouran High School Host Club? Say no more—I was sold. Unfortunately, the series wasn’t available on Kindle Unlimited until recently, so I held off buying it until I had extra funds to grab the rest of the books (just in case I fell in love). Spoiler alert: I did, and now that the series is on KU, I’m devouring them all!
At first, I thought this book might lean heavily into smut, and while I don’t mind smut, I much prefer a story with a solid plot. Luckily, this book delivered! It’s spicy, no doubt, and I have a feeling things will get even spicier as the series progresses, but there’s also a captivating plot to sink your teeth into.
So far, Rayne is my favorite character. Interestingly, the way I picture him in my head is completely different from how he’s described in the book—except for the red hair, of course. But hey, I can’t help that!
For a book with a blurb that reads like it will be a naughty adventure or guilty fantasy, this was neither - in fact, it was a quite well thought out plot and story! Slow burn, if you can believe it - and one that has made me mark goodreads so I can check when book 2 comes out!
Pros: - FMC: she may be human in a house of monsters, but she is no push over. - Rayne: Decades older than her, he is still young for a vampire and immature as a teenager... but there is something about the charming redhead I can’t help but love. - surprisingly, a slow burn. I kinda like that. - Flows well - She’s a klutzy fool... I can relate
Cons: - Despite multiple POV’s, we didn’t see from all the brothers. - Cliffhanger... ah well. 🤷♀️
I liked this story but it was lacking in the hotness for me I just wanted there to be more! Don’t get me wrong I laughed and enjoyed the back and forth banter but I was hoping for hot sex from at least one vampire! I’m not a huge sex every scene in a book but I just was thinking it would have been nice! I am glad that there is character development and I’m curious to see what happens next!
I was lucky enough to read an advanced copy of this for my honest review. ...
3 words spring to mind, HOLY FUCKING SHIT!!!!
Although I have the boxset this was originally in I haven't actually read it yet 🙈 I have read Erin's Academy of Witches books and loved them, so when the chance came to read an ARC of hers I jumped at the opportunity. And boy am I glad I did, ITTV sees Piper moving into a mansion with 6 hot slightly Douchy vampires and their butler. Piper doesn't know at first that they are vampires and when she finds out I don't think she reacts how they were expecting her too (because its fun at times to ruffle a few vamp feather's) she's also not aware of some of their 'abilities' and I cant wait for the shit to hit the fan when she does find out. A subservient, seen and not heard maid she isn't 😂, although that may be an issue in book 2 (shh spoilers) I also feel like we still have loads to find out about piper and the Master's Durand. I was hooked from the very beginning and I'm hoping its going to be a #whychoose situation as I can't pick who I like more at the moment and hope Piper doesn't have to either plus its always the quiet ones who are the kinkyest 😈😈👅👅💦💦
I wasn't wowed by this book, but I did enjoy it. I started to enjoy it more near the end, but I never did really connect with the characters. I might give a second book a try.
To avoid living in her car anymore, Piper takes a job for a housekeeper. From the moment she enters the mansion, it’s like she’s stepped back in time. The butler is the epitome of a stiff upper lip while his disdain for her is evident. Her mouth drops to the floor when she discovers not one but six of the sexiest men she’s ever seen. She’ll clean, do laundry but she draws the line at sleeping with her bosses, no matter how much she fantasizes about doing just that. When she discovers her bosses are vampires, she tries to leave but cannot because she can’t afford to pay them back for the vase she broke on her first day. She’s indebted to the vampires and she’ll stay because for the first time in her life, she’s got a family to call her own.
I was so excited to read this brand-new series by Erin Bedford. A brilliant author no matter the genre, she writes enthralling vampire romance. Piper is a clumsy heroine with a snarky inner dialogue. I laughed, swooned and nodded my head as she tries to maneuver through the ins and out of cleaning for six vampires. The sexual tension between Piper and the six vampires is thick and I can’t decide which vampire she’ll choose. My favorite is Rayne but it could also be Antoine. Maybe she should just live out her reverse harem fantasies and give the reader exactly what they want. Can’t wait for the next one in the series.
I really enjoyed this book! I’d been looking for a vamp romance read and stumbled upon this one and I definitely wasn’t disappointed!
I liked the story line base and the approach. The characters were well balanced, I thought, and I liked that the main character had a bit of back bone and fire.
Definitely a somewhat slow burn in the romance department but there is tones of tension.
It ends in a cliff hanger of sorts and I just really wasn’t the next one!
If you’re looking for a vamp romance read, I recommend :)
Oh, boy. This was...this was a book. Honestly, as soon as I started reading I realized this book wasn't for me, but was open to continuing the book as long as it wasn't too sexual. The opposite ended up being my problem. I felt that because this book's introspection is so overtly sexual, that the payoff would occur, and that there would be a heck of a lot of more smut. Because most of this book is the characters sitting around, thinking about smut. I get that the whole conflict is that she can't engage in sexual activity with her boss, but couldn't she go out and find someone to do it with? This book's ending isn't satisfying. I know this is a series, so not everything can be wrapped up in a neat bow, but I would like to see it tie its shoes. It just kinda...ends. Also, the book would feel a lot less aimless in its many many many moments of introspection if there was only one (Piper's) POV. The other POVs made the story feel bloated and they did not add anything to the plot.
I first read this book when it was released as per of an anthology, and loved it I’m so grateful that it has been lengthened and rereleased. This book is a slow burn Paranormal Fantasy RH and it was su much fun reading.
Piper is a sassy klutz that can’t keep her mind out of the gutter especially now that she is the maid for 6 rather sexy vamps. But when she becomes the centre of rather uninvited attention she needs to rely on others for the sake of her freedom/life. Can’t wait to find out what happens next!!
Indebted to the Vampires (House of Durand Book 1) by Erin Bedford is not only a paranormal romance story it is also a reverse harem fantasy. There are lots of vampire stories out there and it still amazes me that authors can come up with something different but that is exactly what Erin has done. The story is fun and entertaining and the characters were well developed individuals and with so many they each had their own quirks, crazy and flaws but that is what made the story. It is easy to read but it does need some revision done on the editing which slowed down the flow. I hated where it ended, it was just getting good and can’t wait for the next one.
i honestly only picked up this book because of the vase thing—it reminded me too much of ouran highschool host club.
overall, i didn’t really like the book. i skimmed through most of the mmcs’ pov chapters because they’re such fucking creeps. the only reason why it is justified by the book is because they’re oh so hot. gag.
piper was okay but i got a bit annoyed with her lack of self-control. her horny thoughts were annoying to read, but at least she didn’t give in to the males so easily.
p.s. just how many times did they need to mention just how beautiful piper is? we fucking got it the first time! jesus.
Piper is working as a maid in a house full of vampires. Each vampire is different from each other. I have enjoyed reading the different POV from the characters. This is a very well written novel and leaves you wanting for more. This book had me on the edge of my seat as k was reading highly recommended to read especially if your into vampires and witty remarks.
this series is suppose to be inspired by OHSHC but to say that is just blasphemous to the show.
Any who, it’s not well written but a fun and easy read. It’s like the equivalent of a reality tv show, mind numbing but just entertaining enough to make you want some more.
DNF @ 14%. I got this for free during one of the stuff your kindle days. While a Why Choose romance with a human heroine and a bunch of vampires sounds fun, this is incredibly cheesy and too insta-lusty for me.
