Jessamyn Kingley has published over thirty titles and refuses to pick a favorite among them. With an extraordinary passion for her characters, Jessamyn eagerly adds new tales to her D’Vaire series and avidly re-reads them whenever her schedule allows. Jessamyn shares a home in Nevada with her husband and their three spoiled cats. When she is not writing or adding new ideas to her thick stack of beloved notebooks, she is gaming with family and friends.
Grand Summoner Dre’Kariston D’Vaire with the help of his twin finds out a name for his mate and where he is. On learning they have to travel to Court Ethelin and Prince Somerly. But alas this will not be an easy road for Dre’Kariston. With his familiar, Derwin so angry all the time, a dragon king who is an ass and only looking out for himself not to mention his mate has secrets that when revealed could tear the two apart it was a wonder that Dre’Kariston was sane as I would have been extremely angry at the way Somerly treated him.
I loved this story so much. There was drama, heartache, love and the support of the D’Vaire clan with every step of the story. The search still continues for a way to make Carvallius and his daughter (when they find her) pay for their crimes as well as new members that arrive and one is a surprise I never saw coming.
It’s best to read these amazing stories in order as they are connected and pick up where the last book leaves off so to speak. I love immersing myself in the D’Vaire series with it’s wide range of characters, attitudes, mystery, suspense and adventure.
Simply a brilliantly written story that holds your attention from start to finish with every book.
Fantastic addition as always and highly recommended. Looking forward to the next book in the series.
One thing I enjoy about this author is that she doesn't use the same "formula" for all her books - it'a amazingly refreshing and this book was no exception. While most of them can be read as a standalone, you'll get the most benefit out of reading them all in order. Her MCs are unique and they all go through their own journeys to find their happiness. This book continued to expand the incredible D'Vaire world while placing the focus on the struggles felt by the two MCs. I can't begin to describe the amount of love I have for these books and I can't wait to read the next one!
I liked both MC'S .... I also liked the new family members that were introduced as well... The only thing that was confusing that was not really explained is why Derwin was the way he was... He was mean thru out this book and previous books but in the end it was really not explained why?? Other than that good read... Off to book 11
Seriously, so many questions I had answered!! The stories of Alexander and his 2 brothers, Worth & Somerly, the resurrection of T’Eirick & Saura, the story of Somerly’s awakening to who he was related to, and Dre’Karston’s journey...so many stories intertwined & completed with humor and love. On to the next book!!
I love that D'Vaire is turning into this wonderfully interconnected family. Don't feel like I can say much without spoilers but love all the new characters we gained in this book. Lucian rocked
This series has become quite the addiction of late, the wide range of characters each with their own story is brilliantly written, I’ve also had 2 very specific characters (since book 1) I’m hoping find their mates soon.
Rating: 3.75 stars While enjoyable, what ultimately brought this book down a bit was Somerly. He was a just a bit too clueless for me. I understand that he was sheltered all his life by his father, but he showed absolutely no initiative to know more about the world that he lived in. Then there was Derwin. I’m glad we got some sort of explanation for him being the way that he was but I’m not sure I totally buy into his actions toward the end of the book. Overall the book was enjoyable and I am looking forward to the next one.
When Dra' Kaeden and Dre’Kariston D'Vaire scry for Dre'Kariston's mate, they find that he's in Europe which is under Consillium law. At Court Ethelin. King Aleksander refuses to allow them to travel alone to his father's court and as a group they travel to king Brion's land. Where they are turned away. Dre meets his mate despite Brion. Somerly is young and sweet. But there are a few things he neglects to tell his new mate. One, that he's crown prince. And two, that he's engaged to marry a princess from another court. This book is quite packed with action and emotion. At it's end, Aleksander has two new brothers, Dre'Kariston embraces the dark losing his angry familiar in the process, and the Grand Summoner gets his well earned HEA. Now Kingley needs to get moving on Aleksander.
