I was so honoured to help Gabriel as a beta reader for this book. I had the chance to read the finished version, and I'm thrilled to share some of my thoughts. I loved the first book in this series, and I really love this one as well but the vibe was very different for me and that is why I gave it a 4 star instead of 5.

This did not disappoint. The writing is still just as good as its predecessor and the plot is intriguing as it was before. The best way to describe this series would be the giver mixed with in her eyes(movie) but with a different way of looking at the world especially with the afterlife. I was so glad to be a beta reader for the second installment in The Lost Souls series.
In this book Lilly grew up a lot, but she's still divided between Earth and Panacea.
I fell in love again with the characters and I was utterly destroyed by the ending. It was so heartbreaking!
Lilly however was so annoying at some point, I really wanted to slap her. (yes I do not agree with a choiche she made...)
The writing style is seriously stunning, as well as the worldbuilding, and it is a perfect sequel to ...more

This is a great second installment of The Lost Souls series by Gabriel Lea. While the first book The Guardian's Heart we meet Lilly, her family and friends and learn about her world. It was a nice introduction to the series. In The Silver Cord we see the continuation of Lilly's growth as she faces feelings that she is not supposed to have and still has to deal with the problems popping up in her world.
