Bayside Romance

Rate this book
Fall in love at Bayside, where sandy beaches, good friends, and true love come together in the sweet small towns of Cape Cod. Bayside Summers is a series of standalone steamy romance novels featuring alpha male heroes and sexy, empowered women. They're fun, flirty, flawed, deeply emotional, always passionate, and easy to relate to.
Gavin is about to find out that Harper really does exist—and she's going to knock his socks off! Find out for yourself in USA Today bestseller Bayside Romance!

When screenwriter Harper Garner got a shot at the big-time in LA, she celebrated her brave cross-country move with her first and only one-night stand—connecting so deeply with the sexy, brilliant man, she broke the number-one rule of one-night stands and left her phone number. Not hearing from him was only the first in a long line of hope-shattering, confidence-busting blows. Ten months later, Harper is done with men and done with LA. She pulls up her big-girl panties and heads home to Cape Cod to start over.

On the surface, interior designer Gavin Wheeler has it all: a successful business, a loving family, and a close-knit group of friends. But Gavin once endured a heartbreak so painful, he was sure he’d never feel anything for a woman again. A chance encounter at a music festival with a gorgeous, down-to-earth blonde proved him wrong, but when morning came, the woman who made him crave more was gone.

A serendipitous evening reunites Harper with her devastatingly delicious one-night stand, and the connection is just as intense as she remembered. Harper’s life is too unsettled for a relationship, but Gavin is determined to help her find her way, especially if it leads straight to his heart. Moonlight conversations lead to steamy kisses, and as romance blooms, it stirs a love too real to deny. But when Gavin’s past collides with the life they’re building, it has the power to ruin everything.

This story is kind of beach read. Clean romance. Vanilla romance. The characters are likeable enough. And as promises on the blurb the hero is alpha hero who knows how to swoon his lady. Gavin is really that too good to be true hero. A hero who after you read it, you just want to scoop him to be your knight in shinning armor.

The plot is standard. There is no complicated layers on the story. The steam sex is mediocre.

Overall I like this book OK. OK for a beach read.

Audiobook review. Gavin and Harper meet and have an instant connection that leaves them both changed. It was supposed to be one night but fate decided otherwise.

Gavin was a great guy in a way that is almost too good to be true. He said all the right things and made the right moves. If he were a little less perfect it would’ve enhanced the experience as it would’ve been more realistic. Harper was a bit more relatable. She was gun shy after bad experiences and trying to figure herself out. Their connection was actually pretty sweet and hot where it counted 😉

The pace was a bit slow for me and the intensity of the plot varied greatly. Though this is not a story of much action, per say, it didn’t consistently hold my attention with parts that felt like they didn’t really progress the story forward. The secondary characters were solid, enough to spark interest but not so much they take the spotlight.

The narrators, Jacob Morgan and Savannah Peachwood, did a fantastic job with their roles. The transitions were seamless. The inflections, tone, and pace of the narration itself were infallible.

Complimentary copy received and voluntarily reviewed.

Bayside Romance is a story about second chances. A second chance to experience love and a chance to revamp career goals. I accepted this book for review because one Melissa Foster wrote it and secondly it was a second chance romance.

Gavin and Harper met at a music festival one year ago, where they engaged in intimacy for one night. It would appear they made an impression on each other, but miscommunication led to them separating after that blissful night of passion. One year later, Harper disillusioned by her experiences in Los Angeles returned to Bayside, where she encountered the one person she never expected to see again. Old feelings reignite, Gavin, and Harper embarked on a passionate journey of rediscovery, forgiveness, healing, and love.

This was a well-written story, which came as no surprise, and the characters were well developed. However, I had a hard time with Gavin and Harper as a couple. I did not feel their chemistry, and I had a hard time buying into their relationship. I believe it was because most of the time was spent on Harper trying to find her footing career wise and her fears of failure. They spent time as a couple and did things couples would, but for me the chemistry was non-existent.

Gavin proved to be a caring person with a take the bull by the horn personality. The person Harper needed in her life to show her that one failure does not mean all is lost. He encouraged her and in the process, her confidence grew.

Melissa’s stories are usually angst free, so I was surprised by the conflict that appeared unexpectedly near to the end of the story. It wasn’t anything major, and they resolved the issue in matter of minutes. It would great if there was a little more drama in this regard

I found the pacing to be slower than the other stories I have read by the author, and it was not as exciting either. I struggled to read the story.

I enjoyed the family and friends dynamics of the story. I loved the rapport and loved how supportive they were of each other.

Conclusion/Recommendation
I know there are die hearted fans who would love this installment more than I did. It was not a bad read, but when compared to the previous books in the series it fell short.

Bayside Romance was the fifth book in the Bayside Summers series by Melissa Foster. Although connected with the series, it can be read as a stand-alone.

We met Gavin Wheeler in previous books as Serena’s business partner. He had moved with Serena from Boston (Bayside Heat, book three) to start their own design studio at the Cape. He was gorgeous, talented, confident and single.

Harper Garner was the sister to Jana and Brock (books six and nine respectively from Foster’s Bayside Seaside Summer series - also set in a small Cape town). She had spent a year in LA as a screenwriter following her dream and was now back at the Cape licking some wounds. She was a shadow of her former beautiful and confident self.

Gavin and Harper met previously at a random music festival in Virginia and had a one night stand. They both had the best night of their lives but never expected to see each other again. Although only a year had passed, they had changed. Foster took us through their reunion as well as the baggage they carried with them. Foster also included details surrounding Harper’s career, adding more depth to the storyline. Although it was steamy and sexy, it also had a sweet vibe with little conflict. However, I might add, the conflict that was noted, wasn’t much of a conflict and was a bit overreacted.

Otherwise, true to Foster’s style, it was well written and well developed. Foster also incorporated characters from multiple series, showing the six degrees of separation, adding depth to the storyline. With that said, Bayside Romance can still be read as a stand-alone and will provide intrigue for her other series.

All in all, it was a quick and enjoyable read. Foster set the stage for more within Bayside Summers for Tegan, Jock and Daphne as well as Justin and his siblings in The Wickeds: Dark Knights at Bayside. And Beckett...we have to have Beckett’s story soon. And Colton....I’m not sure where he’ll fit, but he has great promise as well. So many characters, so little time...

Bayside Romance by Melissa Foster is a second chance romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Savannah Peachwood and Jacob Morgan.

This is the first book of Melissa’s that I have read and it definitely won’t be my last. It was absolutely amazing. It took you through all the emotions and you can’t help but fall in love with Gavin and Harper. I can’t wait to read more books from the Seaside Summers Series.

Savannah and Jacob did an amazing job on the narration. They are an amazing duo and I look forward to their future projects.

I would recommend this book to anyone who loves Second Chance Romances or Sweet Romances.

‘Bayside Romance’ is the fifth book in the ‘Bayside Summers series’, and the perfect book to capture your attention and allow you to still feel like it is summer.

The book is about Harper Garner, a writer who is returning to Bayside after her show got cancelled in LA, and was followed by a serious of bad dates with awful men. She feels like she has failed, and is too afraid to admit to those she loves that her dream just didn’t quite work out.

But what Harper does cling onto is the man she spent one incredible day and evening with. He was a man who enabled her to let go of her inhibitions, and allow her to connect deeply with another for the first time. But after she left her number behind in his case, and she hears nothing from him, she can’t help but feel he was just like all the other men who have ended up disappointing her.

So when she strolls down the beach to reunite with her best friends, she does not expect to come face to face with Gavin. The man who naturally made her open up and didn’t have the decency to call.

Gavin is a unicorn of a man, he is tidy, smart and he is confident in what he wants and doesn’t want. He has had a turbulent past, a one that should have made him never want to be involved with women again, however after an unforgettable night in Virginia with a certain ‘Parker’, he is in turmoil over never knowing if he’ll ever see her again.

So when he is introduced to the same woman who is ‘Harper’, it is like his heart literally ignited, and he knows she is the one he wants.

I absolutely adored Gavin, he is always there for Harper, he pushes her to never give up and inspires her to be the best she can be. All the while, despite her always trying to edge on caution, she helps him turn his house into a home, and becomes a part of his life like he’s always wanted her to be.

This couples chemistry is amazing and I absolutely loved them together. It felt as a reader effortless and natural, but their love was on fire.

Foster has a knack of writing real love and what it’s like to truly fall for another human. Her characters are life-like, modern and down to earth, and I always love reading their quirks and their flaws.

This book had me from the first page, and kept me all the way to the amazing end. I adored getting to catch up with the characters from past stories, and can’t wait for the books of characters that are new.

Harvey and Adele’s love story within this love story was beautiful, and Foster just knows how to play on my heart strings.

An amazing read that is ideal for anyone wanting to rekindle summer vibes and feel like they are on holiday, and perfect for all romance readers.

I was given a copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.

This is the charming story of Harper, a screenwriter who returns to her hometown after Hollywood breaks her heart. And it’s the story of Gavin, an interior designer who can’t believe his luck when the girl from the hook-up he’ll never forget shows up in his hometown.

I enjoy romances that start with hookups and Gavin and Harper’s story is fun and sexy. I enjoyed watching Harper’s confidence grow through the story as she returns to her writing and starts to like herself again. Gavin isn’t one of Melissa Foster’s most memorable men but he’s kind and successful and very charming.

There’s a little bit of relationship angst in this story but most of the conflict is around Harper’s writing and her move back home. It’s a medium heat read with a few sexy scenes and lots of long conversations. There’s unfortunately something quite formulaic about this book. It’s the fifth in an ongoing series and I found everything from the characters to the romance to the storylines kinda forgettable and a little bit paint-by-number. I’m not a big fan of groups of squeally women in romance writing and there were far too many girly bonding sessions for my tastes in this book. I’m usually a big Melissa Foster fan but this book felt somewhat flat to me.

The blurb for these books says that they stand alone but I don’t think this one does. Readers who haven’t followed the series from the start will be overwhelmed by previous couples and far too many characters to keep straight. I felt like I was on the outside of a friendship group full of in-jokes and shared history. I’m guessing I might have enjoyed this story more if I’d started at the beginning of the series.

**I received a free copy to read and review for Wicked Reads**

I have read some of Melissa Foster’s other books and I usually am rather charmed by her stories, but this one left me feeling rather disinterested. Maybe I would’ve felt more intrigued by Bayside Romance if I had read any of the previous four books in the Bayside Summer series and had time to warm up to some of the other character that always make appearances throughout the series, but I didn’t. Also, it is important to note that each book in the series is meant to be able to enjoy as a stand-alone. However, I couldn’t seem to ever feel truly invested in Harper and Gavin’s love story. Honestly, I felt like I couldn’t finish the story fast enough and it seemed to just never end. I typically always enjoy these kinds of light hearted reads and I adored several of Foster’s other books, but I just could not get sucked into this book the same way I have her others. I didn’t hate Bayside Romance, but I definitely could’ve skipped it. Unfortunately, Bayside Romance just didn’t impress me as much as some of Foster’s other books have.

3 STARS for Bayside Romance by Melissa Foster.

Melissa Foster does it again, she delivers another great read that has us wishing, or me at least, that we were a part of these fun loving friends that care so much for each other they help them see past their own fears and dive into the unknown.

To Gavin Harper was this mythical creature that his friends always talked about but he hadn't met since moving to the cape, well their worlds are about to collide and when they come face to face it's more than a shocker to them both.

Harper is returning to the Cape after living in California for a while, she's done with men after a one-night-stand left her wanting more and he never called and a couple of botched relationships since, she also needs to figure things out with her life after the fiasco that happened in LA.

I absolutely loved this second-chance romance. Gavin had me swooning! He was the perfect person to help Harper with everything that she was going through. Their chemistry was through the roof, they also had a deep connection that was very special to witness.

There was a little angst in this book, some necessary some not, but either way everything was worked through fairly quickly.

Although Bayside Romance is the fifth book in the Bayside Summers series it can be read as a standalone, past characters do make appearances but each story is based on an individual couple and does not have a running story so you can start the series wherever you like.

Happy Reading!!!

Bayside Romance

Everything was looking up for Harper Garner, her career, new move, even a new connection. Though the connection was a one night stand, Harper took a chance and left her number behind, only to be left uncalled. One of many let downs that harpoon Harper until she's had enough. Her screen writing career on the down fall when her show was canceled, and giving up on men all together she high tails it back east to try and piece back together her life as best she could. Feeling as if things could finally start becoming balanced again Harper has a chance to work on a screen play, and dives right into it. The last thing she expected though was come face to face with her one night stand, Mr. No Call Back. While her surprise and memory of how it felt to not hear back, Harper can't deny the chemistry that's between them. Could a second chance be in the future for them? Or will Harpers bad luck strike again and have everything come crashing down?

Harper isn't the only one with bad luck it seems, Gavin Wheeler has his string of heartbreaks and baggage that weigh him down heavily. Everything had been tipped right side up when he'd met Harper, a chance for a furture of actual happiness all washed away when he woke up and Harper was gone, leaving him with a bad taste in his mouth. A hard blow for Gavin and not at all what he expected to deal with after a painful breakup. Gavin gets up and moves on trying to get his life back together. He's got family, friends and things are good, but things get even better when he meets up with his one night stand. The passion and heat is still there which neither can deny, but are they both willing to put their past behind them and move forwards? Will their painful baggage and even fear come crashing down on them?  Pick up Bayside Romance and find out what happens!

This was a great book, charming really. Gavin and Harper were a wonderful couple, enjoyed seeing the relationship grow throughout the pages of the book. Foster always does such an amazing job creating relatable  characters , and Bayside Romance is another great read to grab! Sweet, charming and steaming with each page turn you don't want to miss out!

must i cry with each new installment

Overall 5 out of 5 stars
Performance 5 out of 5 stars
Story 5 out of 5 stars

Harper (aka Parker) was back home and Gavin finally gets to meet the elusive Harper. But he has meet this woman before. It was a defining moment in his life. Harper had a story to tell and not just that she had already meet Gavin before on a whim. Gavin had somethings that needed to be laid bare and some was not expected or even remembered. Ever the gentleman, Gavin shows you why some men are just meant to be so much more.

With this installment in the Bayside Summers series you are lured in by the chance to fall in love again with a different couple in Bayside. The beaches and the setting of a small-town within a Cape Cod community is where you will find friends and some familiarity. The best part of all the reads are that you find old friends from previous reads. You also get the chance to make new friends.

Gavin had his chance at the once in a lifetime connection but he wakes to find her gone. Harper did the one thing she never does. She jumps feet first in to a one night stand that spurs her to do another first. She leaves her number and hopes for the best. Sad to say she gets disappointed. Their one night encounter weighs on both of them until that chance second meeting. Things get the chance to change to something more or less. Its all in how you see things. Watching it all unfold was what you come to expected and anticipate from Melissa Foster. Fun. Flirty. Some sass. Friendships. Courtships. Misunderstanding. Reconciliation. There was sadness, sorrow, pain, hurt, and a few tears.

I would not quite call it a second chance, but more of a second chance to make a first chance at love more. Gavin and Harper both have things holding them back at the same time pushing them forward to each other. When life pushes hard its the way the two of them handle it that shows you the way they will move forward in their lives together.

Melissa Foster has this way about giving a story substance, friendship, a sense of family, love, respect, and bonding. While still providing strength, courage, and protectiveness into both of the lead characters. She always find a way to let you catch up with those from the past while creating a future for and current side character or a new one all together. Love reading her romances.

Yes, I cried with this read also but not quite as much as other reads from this series. You could feel the hurt, pain, sorrow, confusion. This was so much of what I have come to expect from Melissa's stories. It gave a feel of the world and the lives of two people that find more then tomorrow in each other.

Savannah and Jacob bring to life characters that I have had the pleasure to fall in love with and bring to life others we just now get to meet or see more of. Each character have a distinction of character and voice. The story plays out well with the pitch, tone, and clarity of the narration.

Bayside Romance by Melissa Foster
“Chance encounters, 4 stars”

Gavin and Harper had a chance encounter at a music festival and left a lasting impression on each other. They thought about one another ever since but never got any contact for one another leading each of them to wonder if they dreamed the whole encounter. What happens when life pulls them back together?
Gavin had no way of knowing his dream girl was friends with his friends and his business partner. When Harper comes back to town with a dull look in her eyes he wants to re-spark it. Can he help her find her footing together and then get the girl? Or will he only get to watch from afar?
I genuinely liked Bayside Romance. I liked catching up with previous couples we’ve come to know and got excited for the ones to come. I really loved Gavin because he’s one of the good ones. Harper was awesome as well. The only reason I’m giving Bayside Romance a 4 instead of a 5 is because I had no problem setting it aside and doing whatever needed my attention. With that said though, I think you would enjoy reading this sweet romance.

Harper and Gavin had one night together ten months ago and neither got the other's number. She had actually left her number (in is suitcase?), but he never found it. She was hurt that he never called and he was missing the one that got away.
Harper's back in the Cape licking her wounds after living in Los Angeles as a screenwriter. The show she wrote was canceled. She sees Gavin almost immediately on her return as he is friends with her friends. They get over their misunderstanding and their connection is just as strong, but Harper feels her life is too up in the air for a relationship.
This is a sweet romance with not a lot of angst--a small hiccup near the end of the book regarding Gavin's past, but mostly centering around Harper and getting her writing confidence back.
This is a standalone and can be read as one, as I have never read a Melissa Foster book before. I didn't give it four stars, because I did feel that there were so many past characters in the book to keep straight. In this case, I think it's more of a me thing than a you. I should have read the prior books to enjoy this more.

Thank you to Tasty Book PR and Melissa Foster for a digital arc in exchange for an honest review.

Bayside Romance by Melissa Foster is book 5 in the Bayside Summers Series. This is the story of Harper Garner and Gavin Wheeler. I have read the previous books, which did add to my enjoyment of this one but you can make this a standalone book if you wish to do so. Gavin and Harper met almost a year ago where they had a hot connection but Harper was on the move to a new job and life, but she did leave her number behind. Gavin of course didn't find it and always wonder about her. Now in their present day Harper has found that the new job and life isn't so good and goes to lick her wounds which puts her back in Gavin's site. Gavin has issues of his own but the two become supportive friends and of course they still have their hot attractions.
Enjoyed their story and Ms. Foster's writing.

This book was AMAZING!!! I really cracked up at the whole Parker/Harper confusion at the beginning of the story and the comic relief at the beginning of the story helped me get through some of the more emotional parts of the story, later in the book.

It was a beautiful story to see how two people who met by chance...and for one night...could find their way back to each other. Of course their road to happily ever after is not an easy road but at the end of the day, Harper and Gavin trust each other and let their love conquer all.

I cannot wait for the next book in this series!

M/F Second chance romance
Triggers: Some discussion about abortion
I was given this book for an honest review by Wicked Reads.

This is the 5th book in the series and anyone who reads Foster's books knows that characters from other books will always pop up. This one didn't disappoint.

Gavin is successful and loves his new business. He enjoys what he does and who he has partnered with. But, after going to a music festival with his brother, he can't get a certain beauty out of his mind. Months and months go by and despite his best efforts, he can't seem to forget her.

Harper, for all the success that she's had, is also bumped and bruised from her journey. When she heads back home to family and friends, the last thing she expects is to see her one wild night, sitting around the campfire.

Gavin sees Harper and immediately has questions. Harper sees Gavin and is immediately somewhat upset. While these two figure out where their communication errors happened, they find out that their attraction is still as hot as ever.

This was a slower story for me. It felt repetitive at times and I found myself skimming through pages. And, while there is an issue towards the end of the story, it felt blown very much out of proportion. Overall, while it was an easy read, I found myself bored with this couple.

[I received a digital copy for an honest review]

I always look forward to diving into a new Melissa Foster novel. Bayside Romance is the fifth book in the Bayside Summer series, but they are written so they can be completely enjoyed on their own. This one brings us a second chance romance between Harper and Gavin whose paths had crossed once in the past, and they left a lasting impression on each other.

"She didn't have the words to explain how that made her feel, but it was big, and it was real."

The characters in Bayside Romance were as charming as Foster's characters always are. A slice of Cape Cod filled with close friends and family. Gavin was a gentleman who knew Harper was worth waiting for. He did everything he could to help her figure herself out and make sure she had fun in the process. Harper was a sweet heart who let a few bad choices in men and a speed bump in her career take away her confidence in herself. They were adorable together, and I was pleasantly surprised at how adventures they were in the bedroom. The intimate scenes were on fire and will get you fired up

"You're my fantasy , sweetheart," he said in a voice laden with emotions. "You have been since the day I met you."

Overall , Bayside Romance is filled with sweet romantic gestures, supporting friends and family, fun and love. At the end of the book Melissa Foster lets us know one of my personal favorite members of the Bayside group , Justin Wicked and his cousins are getting books in their own series. That made me extremely happy and I'm holding out hope that Harper's brother Colton get his own happily ever after some day.

After spending a year working in California, screenwriter Harper Garner has returned to Cape Cod. Harper needs to get back on track; emotionally, romantically and professionally. Her self-confidence is at a low point-her dating radar wasn’t working in LA , her cable series was cancelled and she can’t bring herself to tell her family that her cross country move was a HUGE mistake.
Harper meets her friends at a bonfire and comes face to face with Gavin Wheeler; her best friend’s business partner. Harper and Gavin had an intense one night stand at a music festival before she left for California.
Melissa Foster write a fabulous love story for thus couple. I loved that Harper and Gavin had a connection-their past could have been awkward but the author chose to focus on the positives. As Harper was telling her friends about her life in LA, Gavin felt that something was not quite right with Harper. I liked that he acknowledged their connection first, reached out to her and listened to her story without judgement.
I adored Gavin – he’s sweet, kind and is willing to put Harper’s needs first. He’s an interior designer who excels at creating beautiful homes for his clients- but he’s forgotten to make his house his home. I loved that he was neat and organized and was so surprised to discover that when Harper was writing--her cottage was littered with paper. Harper thrived in chaos—Gavin needs organization. Loved that Gavin gave Harper space and that he understood that she needed to regain her self-confidence.
Melissa Foster serves up a fun, flirty, sexy twist second chance romance in Bayside Romance. Loved the sexual chemistry between Harper and Gavin—it’s intense, emotional and very real. The couple learned to listen, trust and love each other during the novel. Gavin and Harper’s relationship is tested when a secret is accidentally revealed towards the end of the novel. Melissa Foster doesn’t make it easy for this couple—their story is comprised of several life lessons—as they figure out how to move forward together.

Most of you know already how much I love Melissa Foster and her amazing books so it's not a surprise that I couldn't wait to read the newest book Bayside Romance. Melissa has a way with words and making storylines that make us adult fairytale romance books that are more like real life than a magical dream. She draws you in with the suspense, mystery, and romance. I can't recommend her books any more than I already do.

Bayside Romance follows Harper and Gavin's love at first sight story. Harper writes storylines for shows and movies and after her show gets canceled and a bad relationship that made herself conscious of dating again she moves home to Bayside. She is afraid to let her family and friends know what happened but there is one person who she thought she'd never see again that could see through her fake mask and knew something was wrong. She couldn't believe the guy she had her first and only one night stand with was there. She left him her number and he never called so did he even have a connection like she did or was it all one-sided? She couldn't let her heart out again especially after being lied to and made a fool of plus Gavin never called so he never wanted more.

Gavin is a designer for businesses and moved to Bayside for some jobs and friends. He has had his heart guarded for many years after a really bad relationship that made him lose family and what he thought was love. He has only connected with one woman since his break up and it was a one night stand at a concert and he still can't stop thinking about her but he doesn't have her name or anything to find her. One day hanging out with friends there she was hanging out with his friends as well. He had no clue that they knew her or that she was from Bayside. Was this fate? Did she recognize him? Did she even want to see him again? For him, it was love at first sight but he didn't know if he could be hurt again.

You have to check this book out. It is so good! I love the storyline and I love second chance love stories. It definitely is a must-read! So head over and get it today!

Melissa Foster has hit it out of the park again. Bayside Romance is a wonderful read that will have you waiting to see how things turn out.

First, the book is set on Cape Cod. I have always had a thing for the Cape. One family vacation there when I was 16 was all it took. While deep down, I could not live without my mountains, the Cape would be my second choice without a doubt. I know where we vacationed was not near where Foster has Bayside set but I can feel like I have been to this fictional town.

Second, Foster has a way with characters. They are so believable and so much like the friends you have in your own life that you can see yourself being in their group. Okay, I admit I'd have to drop 30 years to be in this particular group but I could have seen a single 25 year old me hanging out with them.

Harper may have just come home from Los Angeles with her dream job having collapsed on her but that is what makes her a wonderful character. Not everything is going right in her life. She has some problems to get over. She needs her friends to help her with the hurt that having a dream crash and burn creates. Of course, she would have to share that with her friends for them to help.

Gavin has his own secrets. His are deep. And what will happen when they come out? Harper has given up on men but Gavin slowly weaves his way into her life then secrets happen.

Pick up a copy of Bayside Romance and find out what happens when Gavin's secrets collide with his and Harper's world. You won't regret it. I have volunteered to share my review and all the opinions are 100% my own.

~~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads ~~

This is the fifth book in the series, but as any Foster fan will know, all her books are interlinked, so you will meet up with friends and family from other series too, and the links in this one are fabulously complicated, but also a lot of fun!

This is a lovely second chance romance, following on from a one night encounter at a year ago. As we find out, neither Harper nor Gavin have got over the 'one who got away' but Harper is the most hurt, as she did in fact put her details in his suitcase pocket. Obviously fate (a.k.a. Foster) intervenes and when Harper returns dejected to her hometown from LA they meet again, and have a whole host of mutual friends! Rolling back from such a passionate carefree night together, Gavin realises that Harper is weighed down from her failed career move to Hollywood. He is so wonderfully caring and consistent that it would be impossible not to see a safe future for the two of them. Of course there are bumps in the road, and then a shocking revelation, which has a dramatic impact on the couple. Here we see the true mettle of the pairing.

I loved meeting Harvey and learning his story; it was a lovely side plot, which also gave us some more people to care about in the Bayside family. I am looking forward to the next installment hitting my Kindle.

This book is amazing, an absolutely fantastic read and officially my favourite Bayside book!!!!!!

Gavin and Harper met a year ago and shared an amazing night. Unfortunately due to a misunderstanding this was the last time either saw each other until fate allows them a second chance.

Harper is hurt that she didn't hear from Gavin after their special night and he is the last person she thinks she will encounter when she moves back to the Cape. Although she believes the explanation Gavin gives her she is very cautious and treads carefully as she has been hurt before.

Gavin is determined to show Harper how much he cares for her and does not hold back in proving it to her. Gavin pulls out all the stops and Harper slowly starts to let her guard down.

Gavin reminds me of the Weston, Braden's, he falls hard and he is so romantic. Don't get me wrong all Melissa's heroes are like this but this book took me back to the family who made me fall in love with Melissa's books in the first place.

Melissa is a phenomenal writer and I will never stop reading her books, I highly recommend any of her books and trust me when I say, once you start you won't ever stop!!!

Another amazing 5* book and I cannot wait for more!!!

Bayside Romance is book 5 in the Bayside Summers series of contemporary romances. This book can be read as a stand-alone. However I believe that readers would find it more enjoyable if they have previously read books 1-4 because there are several other characters with important roles.

This book also brings together others from the 'Foster' book family who have had their stories told in the Seaside Summers series. So if you are a fan of the author's writing you may recognise some familiar faces.

One of Foster's strengths, which I admire, is her 'family tree' style book chains which have interlinking characters. The reader gets to re-meet 'book friends' or 'book crushes', when they become secondary characters in new stories.

This story, set on America's east coast, is about Gavin and Harper; a couple who met at a music festival and had a one night stand. A year later and both their lives have changed. Harper is feeling defeated after the show she wrote for in LA was dropped, while Gavin is thrilled to see the girl he's been dreaming about again, but she isn't ready for a new boyfriend.

This story had the elements of a sweet romance laced with Foster's familiar level of romantic heat. The couple both had flaws, but the story didn't feel as complex as some of the other books in this series.

When does a one night fling become more? For Gavin and Harper that is exactly what happened. Gavin met 'Parker' at a festival and his one night with her left him realising she was the one that got away. That is until he meets Harper, and realises that she is the one that got away and he had got her name wrong! I love their beginning and the mis-communication, he got her name wrong and had no way to contact her only discover that Harper had in fact left her name and number on a piece of paper that she put in the wee front pocket of his suitcase - no one puts anything in there so he had no need to check in it!

Their story could be best one yet out of the Bayside Summer series, Gavin is the perfect book boyfriend and his care and attention with Harper as well as their chemistry is off the charts, though he comes with secrets, secrets that my threaten his relationship with Harper. Harper has sworn off relationships but it willing to try with Gavin, but will his secrets be too much for her? You will have to read to find out!

Once again Melissa has taken us down the road of love with their story and I know I say it all the time but I don't know how she can make each book different!

Harper is trying to leave her mark in Hollywood as a coveted screenwriter, but has only found herself hurt with a couple of selections she has made with men. Feeling like she has failed she returns home to recoup and figure out what she needs to do.

Gavin once thought he found love only to have his heart completely broken and feeling betrayed. One night spent at a music festival, has Gavin completely lovestruck, a feeling he never thought he would experience again. But did he experience it, can this woman he met, Parker, even be real? His friends don't think so, but he doesn't believe their amazing friend Harper is real either.

If we sit back and just let life happen to us we may feel defeated, but we have to have the strength to take our lives in our hands and change how we view ourselves in this world. If I could take only one thing from this story it would be to never let an opportunity to show how you feel pass you by, because there is no guarantee that you will ever have that opportunity again.

Disclosure: At my request, I have received an advance copy of this book for review purposes. I am not being financially compensated for this post, all opinions expressed are my own honest opinion.

Everyone dreams of that one. The person they feel such a connection with that they can’t stand to be alone. What if you find that one person, wake up the next day alone, wondering if it was a dream. That’s what happened to Gavin & Harper. When Harper took off, she’d left Gavin her name & number but put it in a place he never looked.

This story was wonderful! I enjoyed both characters & their interactions with each other. They both held the other up & refused to allow them to put themselves down. Gavin helped Harper regain her confidence & trust after everything that broke her in LA. The intersections of the friendships between the different series made this a better story with increased depth. I enjoyed catching up on their lives & happiness. I feel these can be read as stand alone’s since the connections are explained. I do feel that reading all of the stories makes the connection deeper & the emotions easier to identify with.

When a one night stand is not in either of the parties thoughts--it happens--but in this case so does love and lust. Then she took off-leaving behind her phone and real name--but he never found it!! Neither ever forgot the other--

Harper Garner left her friends and family to persue her dreams in LA. Her dreams got shattered and so did she! She decided to go home again where she belonged! She was scared of ever trusting her instincts again but all that would change thanks to---

Gavin never forgot theone night stand he met at a concert in Virginia-he just couldn't get her off his mind--He had moved to the Cape and was stunned to see the woman of his dreams walking over--to all her friends--who were now his friends!

He undertakes to get her confidence in herself back. She was going to stop writing and had sworn off men---

This does get hot and heavy and truths about each other and Gavin nearly rip them apart---

But LOVE prevails and there is a very happily ever after!!

“Sometimes you have to swim against the tide to make it to calmer waters.”
When you doubt your life, your choices, your dreams and even yourself; only one thing to do, is to surround your wounded soul with good friends and loved ones. When Harper’s life gets crushed under deception, she needs to start all over and only on way to do this was to go back home. I just love how Melissa can always turn stories around and easily link them to previous stories. I was anxious to see what little surprise she had in store for us in that book. I really enjoyed Harper and Gavin’s story. How he helps her build back her confidence, the seriousness of some situations well blended with humour and of course nice steamy scenes. They knew from the start that they would be a great team; an unforgettable couple but as they slowly make it out to each other, I was on edge waiting for them to finally let go and give in to their amazing connection. Scared but ready to just let happiness in once again. It’s always a pleasure to read Melissa Foster’s books; an awesome escape from our day to day life. Can’t wait for the next one !

Get ready to have your heart stolen by another Melissa Foster hero! Gavin is absolutely a dream. He's loving, supportive, and exactly what Harper needs to balance out her life. I loved her bravery for traveling across the country to such a big city to follow her dream. Unfortunately, it swallowed her up and spit her back up -- like a lot of big cities do! When they get their second chance, I had a small worry that Harper would get caught up in her own head and not let Gavin in to bring her back to settled ground. The ten months that they were apart felt like ten years with the events that transpired; however, I think it helped build both of them up to be better suited for one another. Their chemistry is strong and the love scenes made my heart melt in true Foster fashion! As always, I love the great big cast of characters and their connections. It is a little hard to keep everyone straight, but it makes me long for that in my own life!

I have volunteered to share my review and all the opinions are 100% my own.

Although it is a series, this book can be read as a stand-alone novel. The novel is so good that I am looking forward to reading the other books in this series.

Gavin and Harper met a long time ago, but led separate lives until one day Harper returns to town and visits her friend. While there she ran into Gavin, the man she had never forgotten since that date night a year ago. He was surprised to see her as well, after all this time.

There was a misunderstanding which led them to not connecting over the year. Harper had left a phone number, but Gavin had never found this number after she left. A missed opportunity to remain connected. But, neither had forgotten about one another during this time apart.

This was a second chance at love for them. It is a beautiful story. Very well-written by the Author.
