Love shouldn't hurt... at least, that's what everyone tells me. But when I'm with Ash? Not only does it hurt... but I beg for more.

Ash Livingston is Hollywood's bad boy A-list director. I'm Hollywood's hardest working unknown costume designer just starting out in the industry. A nobody... but I'm nobody with a big secret.

Never in a million years did I think he'd be my boss

Meet Ash and Lucy, the next couple featured in the Silhouette Studios Series.

Ash is a self proclaimed daredevil, risk taker and completely unflappable. He will do whatever it takes to gain perspective in directing his current film. Having lost his wife almost five years ago, he wears her ring as a talisman. Don’t get it twisted, he’s out there mixing it up and very active when it comes to sex. But intimacy? Well.. that’s another story all together.

Lucy… I gotta pause and say she is one of the mo

I could not wait for Ash’s story after meeting him in Callback. I knew that guy had some deep, emotional issues making him so...rough around the edges. Ms. Collins did not disappoint. This book was amazing!

Thinking of Ash & Lucy’s story makes my heart beat a little bit faster. It’s full of emotions that sent me swirling through all sorts of pain and pleasure and heartache and lust and letting go and learning and then loving again. I loved every minute of it.

Their story was an emotional one.

I am so tired of reading the same thing over and over again. The hero has slept with half of the female population while the heroine's number of partners could be counted on one hand and she had been celibate for two years. Oh, she had given some BJ's in the college, but who cares about that? One of Ash's conquests though is very present in this book (from start 'till finish) and I kinda liked her. I felt like the first 20% was too focused on Ash's sexual history and I wouldn't have just taken h ...more

I had been waiting to see if Katana would be coming out with another book for her Silhouette Studios series and I was so excited when I saw Role Play on the list of releases! This story did not disappoint. I loved it!

In Role Play, we get the director of the movie Ash's story. He was such an ass in Callback that I had hoped we would get an account of his love affair. Moreover, what a story it is. He has such a sad history that he takes it out on all the woman he takes to bed. No emotion is al

I have been waiting for this book from the moment I finished Callback and I was not disappointed at all. Ash and Lucy are perfectly imperfect characters who are meant for each other. Ash is the director of the film and Lucy is the costume assistant and they meet while working together. Even though there is a no fraternization clause in effect the chemistry between them is combustible and cannot be denied. There are many ups and downs and twists and turns to this love story and it definitely does ...more

From book one I had an expectation of what Ash's book would be like and I'm happy to say I was pleasantly surprised.

Ash is a man tormented by his past and the decisions he makes regarding his personal life before understandable when you get his backstory. Lucy is a young with her own baggage who bounces into his life when she starts work on his movie. As with the previous books the BDSM lifestyle is explored in such a way that it never feels over the top the way some books do.

Another great read by Katana! This is a great series! The world of BDSM and Hollywood can't go wrong. As I read this story the characters (you'll love) seemed real in a weird way that I can't actually put into words. I felt each characters pain and their laughter. You get a feel for the BDSM in a light and hard way. Ash is a broken man that doesn't feel deserving. Lucy a curvy girl trying to make her way into design. The chemistry between Ash and Lucy are electrifying at most. These two have pas ...more

Ash Livingston has been living the life or so it seems until young, beautiful Lucy storms into his life. He's drawn to her like a moth to a light. She is just what he needs to get back what he had before. Lucy feels it too but doesn't want people to think she's sleeping her way to the top at Silhouette Studios. to be honest i'm kind of disappointed here i liked the first book way better and i was waiting for this one only to like it just a bit.
so i'm not going to talk about what happened in the book just gonna say what it made it a disappointment for me , i found that the F lead was kind of a hypocrite in way she wanted to know all about the M lead past and that's ok but when it comes to hers she barely talked about it and when she did she give just a little side , she hade some problems that could be

I never, ever wanted to reach this box because it would mean that I was done with Ash and Lucy's story... but alas, here I am, with a heavy heart, staring at said box. I am so mad that their story is behind me but ugh! I'm trying so hard to not let go! Especially since we get a free bonus scene and I'm too scared to read it in fear that it will cement the fact that I'm done...

This is the second book in Silhouette Studio series, and I would read book one, as that starts the series and gives you kind of a low down on everyone and is in fact the start of the movie that they are working on in this book. Lucy is the new person on board, so low man on the totem pole. When she and Ash the director, and her boss end up having that spark, they both have reasons for ignoring it. Ash is notorious for being a playboy, but he keeps his feelings tightly

Ash Livingston has some serious baggage that he hauls with him everywhere he goes, and it doesn't help him in the slightest. Nope, actually it even hurts him in his job, as he's known has Hollywood's bad boy A-List director, so he gets in trouble for sleeping with women on set. See, he's jaded about love, but he has no problem sleeping around. That all changes the day he lays eyes on Lucy though. Lucy wasn't trying to get the attention of Ash, because she's just the assistant costume designer wi ...more

Role Play is the 2nd book of the Silhouette Studios series by Katana Collins. Ash and Lucy are the next couple who are featured as the main characters. After reading Ash in Callback, I was glad his book was next.

Role Play is book number two in the Silhouette Studios series by Katana Collins. While this book can be read as a standalone with minor spoilers, I honestly suggest going back and reading book one first.

Luciana is quiet person who just wants to work hard and make her way to the top of the Hollywood scene. While she could take a shortcut and use her Uncle's influence on set, she knows that's not how she wants to get to where she wants to be. Everything is going smoothly until she meets the emoti

After reading the first book, Callback, I had high expectations for this book. For the most part, I did enjoy reading more about Ash and Lucy, but I didn’t really get the Dom/Submission part. Based on Lucy’s past, I found it hard to correlate her enjoyment of some of the aspects of it. I did like that even though Kelly (a past lover of Ash’s) first off as a bi**h, she and Lucy found common ground and became friends. That was kind of refreshing. Sometimes I thought that Ash came off kind of an a* ...more

Oh. My. Heavens. This book!!!!!!!! It’s just magical. It gave me ALL. THE. FEELS. and I didn’t want it to end. After Callback, I have been anxiously awaiting Ash’s story and Katana did NOT disappoint! I enjoyed the way the chapters flipped between each of their POV. And my heart went out to Lucy from the beginning. The reader sees a large piece of her history and how it shaped her into the woman she is. While we don’t know all the ends and outs, the reader knows her past greatly affected her.

There isn't anything I didn't love about this book! The writing was smart, creative, and full of dialogue that had you wishing you were there as a fly on the wall. I especially enjoyed Lucy's ability to give two #*c% about what people think and how she captivated Ash with her genuine honesty.
Ash is a bit full of himself as the new up and coming director of a new movie.
Lucy is a professional assistant in the costume design department who knows her stuff, but is thrilled to be working on a movie

We follow Ash in this second book of the Silhouette Studios series. We find Ash not happy after a meeting with Richard. Who is he? Why is Ash not happy? Who are Kelly and Lucy? What job do they have at the Studio? What happens when Kelly gets upset? What does Ash think when he meets Lucy? The dichotomy between Ash and Lucy is fascinating. Things seem to be going well, then they fall apart, only to come back stronger, only to seemingly implode for Lucy. Why? Can Ash win her back? Does he ever fig ...more

4.5 stars for me

We met Ash in book 1 in the series and I admit I had preconceived ideas of who he was. This book blew them away. He's a broken guy, a dominant guy, and at times a super sweet guy. I loved his connection with Lucy. Her innocence called to him. The kink in this one was great and felt genuine. They both have pasts they've not let go of & that plays a huge role in their relationship. Their growth and chemistry felt real and I was so very happy with how the story ended. Great read.

In Role Play, the second book in the Silhouette Studio series by Katana Collins, we get to meet Ash and Lucy. What pulled me in is that their story was way more than the BDSM world. These characters have depth to them and they have a history/past that seems to haunt them.

This is the second story in the Silhouette Studios series and it can be read as a standalone. Ash is working on directing his first major film and there are some challenges. The main actor playing the lead is not coming across well and the script needs some tweaking. The head of the studio is on his back and making suggestions to improve the situation. As a Dom, this does not sit will with Ash but change can be a good thing. Lucy is a woman working on the set when she bumps into Ash. Al

Oh I’m so glad that Ash got a story! He’s sexy, he’s cocky, he’s everything you want in that dominate man!

Lucy is out of her element with the new job that she is doing filming but is sweet and sassy and one of the characters that you will fall in love with!!!!

The chemistry that you witness from these characters just throw you into a world of just awe!

Will their love story be too much? Will Lucy get her heart broken?

Of course you’ll have to read this amazing book to find out!

Role Play is book 2 of the Silhouette Studios by Katana Collins and what a well written addition.

Ash and Lucy both have past demons that challenges their relationship on so many levels. There are lots of twists, turns, steamy scenes and so emotional...can these two find their way to a HEA??

Can’t wait for more books in this series!

I've been waiting for this book since I read Callback last spring. And my wait was justified!! I FLOVED Ash & Lucy's story!! Ash is broken. He's been holding on to the pain from his wife's death. Every one sees him as a playboy. He doesn't do relationships. Lucy, well, she has her issues, a major one being that she's Ash's boss's niece...and she doesn't want anyone to know nepotism helped her land her job in costume. Both of them have their issues.
