Love - a teenager's fantasy, a dying man's first experience, a friend's playfulness, a person's hope… Love comes in varied forms and under different circumstances is expressed in a million ways. Review- Title- Night has much significance, different for different people. Most of the stories are made in the shadows of the night. I myself experienced this because mine was made in the night shadow too and I am blessed to have my story and would want it to never end... Hence, title goes well with the plot, I loved it...because it’s relatable.
I wanna sit at rooftop with someone at 3 a.m. just looking at stars… #QOTD- Have you ever wished the same 3 a.m. thoughts as I always do? Those 12 a.m. talks or the 3 a.m. texts, what you love the most?
Conversations or deep thoughts are the best after 3 a.m. The heavier the eyelids, the sincerer the words and silence is not awkward, it’s shared.
Those 12 a.m. talks or the 4 a.m. texts, what you love the most? Those 3 a.m. confessions… He smiled…
Language used is simple and easy to understand. Writing style of the author is good. Plot is well developed and gripping. Overall, I enjoyed reading it.
Shadow of the night contains 13 short stories of every genre I think, be it love, thriller, suspense, a little classic touch, contemporary etc. Every story has it's a lesson to teach you, and the ending to make you wonder. Titles are as follows: 1. Love at Sixteen 2. The Goan Chase 3. Twist of Fate 4. Shadows of the Night 5. Two can Play 6. Things... That Happen by Chance 7. Celebration of Loss 8. Language of Love 9. Wishes and Sighs 10. Life is to Live 11. Death do us Part 12. The Last Wish and a New Beginning 13. Does Love Last Forever
I would say I loved all because everyone has its own touch to impress you. The cover could have been better, even the title as it misguides to be a thriller or suspense book, but it has only one story of that genre, and the same title has a story in the book. Overall the language was beautiful, would recommend to everyone.

The stories are a wild collection of horror, romance, first-love, new beginnings, human resilience etc. I really enjoyed reading them all but the first one was definitely my favourite. The language used is very simple so even beginners can read it. The narration was easy-going as well. I could not put the book down once I started reading honestly. However, the editing can be worked on. As well as the book cover, for I do not think this cover did the book justice. It was an enjoyable overall read. I rate it a 3/5 stars.

Emotionally arousing, "Shadows of the Night" by Priyanka Lal is a collection of 13 short stories inspired by real life incidences from several walks of life that touches every emotion and strikes every chord of the heart.
Each of the story passes words of wisdom to the readers and reflects on the theme of love, that comes in various forms. It might be a teenager's fantasy, a dying man's first experience, a friend's playfulness, a mother's precious possession, a person's hope, or even a pet's faithfulness. All the 13 stories are written to serve as an insight into lives that are poles apart yet guided by one common emotion of love and woven with the strings of love.
The book begins with a beautiful author's note that explains the tale behind each of the story and once again proves that stories are inspired from real life incidences.
Vivid imagination coupled with a unique writing style lends all the story their exclusive aura. Painted with lucid language and picturesque description, all the 13 stories vivify several emotions to which the readers are bound to feel connected. The eloquent expressions are capable of making one laugh, cry, smirk, feel afraid and be one with the writer.
Sprinkled with unlimited humour, along with lucid language, simple narration, uncomplicated vocabulary, fast-pace, short, crisp and to-the-point expressions with no redundancies contribute towards a quick and easy read.
Among all, the one story that touched my heart is "Wishes and Sighs" that brilliantly brings forth a situation and shows it through different perspective of three people--a son, his mother and father-- all of whom "wish to turn back the clock and bring the wheels of time to a stop" to avoid falling into the mishap. My other favourites are "Love at Sixteen", "Two Can Play", "Life is to Live" and "Shadows of the Night".
All the characters of each story are carved with great excellence, meticulously presenting them with sheer realism that tugs at the heart strings.
The book is named so because the author feels that nights are the times of real emotions and as one walks deeper into their nights, there is always a shadow waiting just for them. The significance of the title is maintained through all the stories where night plays a major role and shadows wait to spread on its readers.
The cover showcasing the hide and seek of various shades of black, white and grey is totally at par with the title.
With perfect dose of emotion and humour, the book "Shadows of the Night" by Priyanka Lal explores the journey of love through the 13 stories that peep into the slices of author's life.

Review: The book contains different short stories coming from different walks of life. each short story is unique in its own sense. One thing that I really liked about the writing style is that it is crisp and on point. There is no unnecessary length added to the content which is why the reader can catch the emotion of the book in each and every story. The book has a very catchy title and it is very significantly manifested in different stories in the book. All the story are based on some or the other kind of manifestation of different human emotions. The emotions might be repeated in some cased but not the way in which the author has put them into the story and this stands as a peculiarity of the book. The use of language is simple and it is easy for the readers to read, understand and process. The characters in the book are well thought of and well written. People who think that they cannot hang on to a long book can grab this one as it has a variety of short stories and for the readers, I’m sure the review has already made them grab a copy for themselves. My personal favorite stories from it are, Love at Sixteen, and Goan chase.
The language used is simple. Everyone can read it. The different common themes in all stories are Love, fate, happiness, loss and life.
The cover of the book didn't please me much. The paper quality of the book is something that has disappointed me the most.

A few stories were really good but there was some stories that didn't leave a mark. Some of the titles were intriguing and some didn't do justice to the storyline.
The writing style was really simple which is good since it makes you finish the book in one sitting but somewhere down the line I felt that the author could have done a better job with the vocabulary and also could've been more descriptive to make the readers feel more connected to the stories.
For a beginner this book is pretty good because it has so many diverse elements which are based on author's real life experiences making them relatable to some extent but sadly it didn't fulfill my expectations.

Blurb- This book is a compilation of 13 short stories from the author's personal experiences. The romantic stories are much more interesting than the other ones. My favourite ones are- 👉The first story portrays the story of the protagonist aged 16 years who had fallen in love with her sister's brother in law when she visited Kathmandu without having a single conversation with him. 👉The second last story is about the protagonist who decides to fulfil the last wish of his late wife but he has no means to do so. 👉The last story is when the protagonist joined in engineering college in Dehradun and had fallen in love with her friend's boyfriend.
My Review- 1)The stories are engaging and interesting. 2) The stories has a good pace. 3)The language is simple. 4) The storytelling is okay. 5)The characters are drawn to a certain extent. 5) I recommend this book if you are looking for some short story reads.
A simple and black and white cover which actually is designed normally ,but could have improved considerably. The title "Shadows of the Night" brings a sense of cult and creepy feeling before we read the book. The book is collection of short stories , around 13 of them . I could say that each of those are idiosyncratic in their own sense. Each of the plots are different and as a reader could enjoy a vast variety of taste across the plots. The language used throughout the book is simple and applied to the plot. The book can be held and understood by most of the general audience and even across generations which includes kids.Narration was too at par , but with respect to plot , I could give it a fair deal.
The sense of variety in all the plots are appreciable .
The book is a collection of 13 short stories based on the author's life journey. Each and every story is written relating to one's life from different point of views. The stories mainly talk about fate, luck, betrayal, anger, jealousy, life and surely each of them will touch your heart. The stories are very much relatable.
The language used is quite simple and lucid and I really liked the title, though the cover page could have been a bit better. Talking about the stories, i really loved " The Goan Chase" and "Life is to live". The stories are pretty much interesting and one can definitely relate the stories with their life. Overall, a very good read.
Rating - ⭐⭐⭐/🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Have a read guys!! Perfect book for the beginners.

Shadows of the Night is a collection of 13 short stories. Somewhere, these stories are inspired from different instances of author's life. . . Love can be expressed in various forms and it is beautifully presented through these stories. . . "Two can play " , "Celebration of loss" and "language of love" are the best stories from my perspective. . . I'm not satisfied with title of book. I believe it could be much better. From my opinion , it could be " shades of love" instead of "shadows of the night" . . Language is simple and comprehensive. Narration is effective and stories are written in easy language. . .
The book comprises of 13 short stories. I have always enjoyed reading short stories as so much is conveyed by the author in the short time the story is concluded. I thoroughly enjoyed reading each and every story in the book. No two stories in the book are the same. They are on various topics such as a teenager falling in love with a photograph, a lady who falls in love with an amnesiac, business rivalry, a girl’s decision to donate the organs of her brain dead father and of course the spine chilling story, “Shadows of the Night” after whom the book is named. This book can be easily carried along on a journey to read. I recommend this book as interesting and engaging.
It is a collection of 13 short stories, all the stories are unique and cover different phases of a person's life. The central theme is love and all these stories are in their own way beautiful.
The language used is simple and easy to understand, and the best thing about short stories is you can read one at a time or you can devour the whole thing in one sitting (like me).
The only thing that I did not like about the book is the title,I was expecting some mystery but it's not the case. The title and cover in itself are good though.
If you like short stories..give this book a chance, you will enjoy it.
Shadows of the nights by Priyanka Lal contains thirteen short stories about different situation we face in our life. The title goes well with the story but cover can be better. Nights are the times which brings put the real emotions. Where we go deeper to know ourselves. You might pretend day long but at the night you have to face the one who are. Talking about the stories they are unique in its own and very well narrated by the author. The narration is simple and crisp. Love at sixteen is my favourite. Overall, it was a simple read.
